Leaves Talk: It’s Almost Wintertime!

I found this little guy on my driveway a while back. I thought his coloring was just beautiful! I love the yellowish and golden leaves the best, I think. Well, maybe I love the fiery red maples the best…SO HARD TO PICK! Fall is so gorgeous! It’s quickly fading, though. Most of the deciduous trees are bare at this point. Still, even as we transition into the stillness and exposure of winter, we can find plenty to be thankful and excited about! For instance…winter is one of my favorite times of...

Book Review: Ice Cracker II by Lindsay Buroker

Title: Ice Cracker II

Author:Lindsay Buroker

Length:Novella//Short Story

Genre:Fantasy//Steampunk

My Rating: 4/5 Stars

I really envy Buroker’s talent at writing engaging short stories! I’ve never really been good at that sort of thing, but it is definitely on my “to-keep-working-at-until-I’m-good-at-it” list. I thoroughly enjoyed this short story from the Emperor’s Edge series! It is technically the 1.5 book of the series, coming betweenThe Emperor’s Edge andDark Currents. The basic synopsis is tha...

I know many of you might have noticed by now that I’m addicted to Pratchett books. This is the newest contributor to my obsession. This book had many of my most memorable quote-moments while reading. Wednesday Wanderment!

This was one of my favorite pictures from our town’s Christmas Parade last night! The Philosopher and I stood outside in the chilly air and watched the WHOLE thing start to finish! It was so much fun. It’s really sad, though. We’ve lived in this town for six years and haven’t once attended the Christmas Parade. Yesterday, I was bound and determined to get there! I’m so glad we did. It was so much fun to see all the children and adults decked out in Christmas-y garb for the event! Santa’s slei...
