This is my review on the 5th book in Lindsay Buroker’sEmperor’s Edgeseries. If you haven’t read previous books, be warned that there may be spoilers in here from books 1-4. You have been sufficiently cautioned. Proceed on at your own literary peril. :-)

Wednesday Wanderment

I like some tea with my booksWishin’ I had a big ol’ pot of tea this morning. I can lay away some tea, you guys. It’s serious. Occasionally, I like some tea with my books, too. There’s nothing like sitting in a big comfy chair with a slew of blankets and a nice pot o’ tea. Maybe sometime this week, I’ll get to live out that fantasy. It’s been a really busy week over at my place. If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that I’ve been pulling some LONG hours with lots of major projects to accomplish. So, since I’ve got t...

5 Tips for Those Overloaded Workdays

tumblr_lfzqaw5RUJ1qafrh6

Well, thatshould be our attitude when we approach a day that’s overloaded to the max with must-complete projects. Sadly, most of us are intimidated, harrowed, and weary when we look at a to-do list that is longer than Merlin’s beard. Most of us in the U.S. had MLK Day off from work yesterday. While that meant I got to relax, playDeus Ex: Human Revolutionwith my hubby, and laze about the house, it also meant that I now have two days worth of work to accomplish in ONE.

Strangely, I tend to get T...

>>The Sevenwaters seriesby Juliet Marillier

>>The Old Kingdom(or Abhorsen) seriesby Garth Nix

>>The Harry Potter Booksby J.K. Rowling

Leaves Talk: Wintry Weather

leavestalkwintryweather

All this talk of wintry weather has me a bit excited at the prospect that maybe, justmaybe, my humble corner of the south might get some snow at some point this winter!! I love snow. If you’ve read my Tales from Niflheim, you’ll know that I love to write about it. I know it’s certainly cold today. It has been a busy week. To be honest, I feel a bit frazzled. I’m trying to ease back into a semblance of a normal schedule, but it’s been a bit hectic. Thankfully, I’m making some real progress on...

Treasure Tomes: Day-Trip Haul

Today, my friend Kate and I took a day trip up to Chattanooga, TN! We hung out at McKay, ate tasty Japanese food at a local place, got tasty desserts at Rembrandt’s and had a terrific time! While we were at McKay, you know I went nuts on some books! Since McKay is a used books and media store, Kate and I were able to trade in old books in exchange for store credit! Because Kate is an AMAZING lady and is getting ready for a big move, she let me have all her store credit so she didn’t have to t...
