Where in the Hell is Emily Guido????
Really I am here! I am doing okay.
What a FREAKING HELL of a summer in a lot of good and bad ways!!!
First, I had gastric bypass surgery on July 10th!
Let me tell you it was very weird. I expected pain, and yes, it was painful. But the phases I through IV were somewhat uggy – to put a technical term to it.
Phase I – Clear Liquids
Because my new 4 (FOUR) ounce pouch/stomach was healing and the small intestine is healing from being attached to it.
I was mostly drugged out of my mind for this wonderful phase. Trying to get the protein drink of 80 grams a day!!!! That is like the protein equivalent of 14 ounces of steak!
Phase II – Liquids onlyI was in pain for this because the drugs were slowing down and now was the time to get used to my NEW stomach being all upset and urpy with ANYTHING I put into my mouth besides my Earl Grey Tea – GOD BLESS THE QUEEN!
Still the nagging 80 grams of protein was hanging over my head!!!! I was like on a mission to find anything I could drink that would be NO SUGAR with PROTEIN and didn’t taste like back-water and sat well on my stomach
Phase III – Soups onlyI was getting over the pain as it was beginning to lag. I started eating soup and it was wonderful!!! I was having an easier time trying to get my dang-blasted 80 GRAMS OF PROTEIN a day!!! I was still on the search for my answer as my shelves were getting more full and full of PROTEIN DRINKS (UNUSED) which were making me sick after one taste.
My confidence was lagging, and I was starting to get REALLY DEPRESSED that I had this surgery and there was NEVER going to find a PROTEIN DRINK I could survive on!
Phase IV – Soft FoodsThis was the time I started to really feel good. I was eating cheese, oatmeal, shrimp, tuna, and soft cooked veggies and whole assorted soups which had chunks of over-cooked meat. YIPPEE!!! I was in ‘HOG HEAVEN’ as they say…
UNTIL….
BUM, BUM, BUMMMMMM
At one month into my recovery, I rolled over in my sleep and unfortunately my “Kitty” which I have had for 11 years was on the bottom. He proceeded to bite the HELL out of my tendons in my hand and scratched all the way down my arm. Immediately, like 7 hours later, the bite blew up into a massive infection and attacked my whole arm!!If I would have waited, I would have been in serious trouble as the red streaks were going up my arm!!! I didn’t know cat bites were so dangerous. I have had pets all my life, cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, fish… nothing like this has ever happened to me!
I went to the EMERGENCY ROOM in severe pain and distress, the next day I had surgery.
These pictures are after my hand was healing…. still swollen even two weeks afterward!
I was in so much pain, I was hoping to have my hand cut off!!!!I was in the hospital for three days and off work for another two weeks.
The pain was awful!!!!
PHASE V – ALL FOODSSo, the beaten and battered was I, I didn’t want to blog. I just read… and I read a lot!!!
My cudos go to all in the blog atmosphere and my brother and sisters out there that put up with my silence and CHECKED UP with EMAIL and SENT CARDS and little messages on TWITTER….
This is me at about a week ago! I HAVE LOST 52 POUNDS! I am OFF of DIABETES MEDICINE!!!!
I need to lose 80 more pounds!!!
IT IS A JOURNEY…
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
This is for you and I love you,

SEDITIOUS… “The Light-Bearer Series” I’m chomping at the bit for it to be out… Plus personal update! By Emily Guido
“Okay, we have to imprison Lord Cromwell, check,” and Charmeine held up her hand making a check mark in the air.“Listen Sis, we need to tell you of how daunting Lord Cromwell is,” Hameal remarked as his face became stoic with a very serious look.
“Some of Earth’s darkest times were influenced by him,” Hera added.
“We know his deeds from our holds in Heaven,” Laura said as she folded her arms across her chest and sat back with a distant look. “We could see the loss of life and destruction he caused by clouding men’s minds. It’s a pretty lengthy list.”
“Yeah Mom, he was the one to influence building the Tower of Babel,” Sandra chimed in.
“The actual Tower of Babel? But how…?” Charmeine asked.
“Generations following the great flood with Noah, we, the people of the Earth spoke one language,” Dmitri interrupted her and had a far off look on his face.
With a glimmer of recognition, Tabbruis added, “We migrated from the east, and came to the land of Shinar.”

“Where the people resolved to build a city with a tower,” Thomas said with a black face.
“The tower was supposed to have its top in the heavens…” Hameal murmured.
“Lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the Earth,” Neal grumbled.
“And so God scattered them upon the face of the Earth, and confused their languages, and they left off building the city.” Laura welled in tears.
“You knew each other then?” Charmeine asked with wide open eyes.
They all shook their heads no.
“We did not know each other then, but we lived the same history,” Tabbruis replied.
Thomas uttered with a face of reminiscence, “The Tower which was called Babel because God confounded the language of all the Earth.”
“I’m constantly amazed at the history you all have shared.” Charmeine’s face lit up when she heard about the events they lived through.
“Charmeine, you romanticize history, but those who have lived it, are traumatized by it!” Tabbruis snapped.
She looked at him with surprise. He never lost his temper until Bathsheba came. She felt like her heart was bleeding.
“Amen to that, Tabbruis!” Laura blurted out. “Charmeine, you have no idea how lucky you were to appear on Earth in 1997. Some of us have had to live through Hell.”

Hameal could see Charmeine was still hurt from Tabbruis’ retorts. He tried to change the subject. “The assassination of Julius Caesar was from his doing. Cromwell also influenced Hernán Cortés who was mainly responsible for the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire. The carnage of the people and rape of the land was immeasurable.”

“Mom, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, and his wife, Duchess of Hohenberg, were assassinated on June 28, 1914, in Sarajevo. Their deaths were the impetus for World War I, and we believe this pitiful excuse for a Blood-Hunter is guilty,” Shane said with a frown.
“How can Lord Cromwell wield such power?” Charmeine asked. She tried not to get sick and said, “But, two questions weigh on my mind. First and foremost, how did Pascal overcome the influence of Lord Cromwell? Second, why didn’t Pascal kill him? Why imprison him when he knew he was such a threat to the Blood-Hunters?”

“We do not know, but I feel positive the family will find out those answers,” Tabbruis replied. “Nevertheless Charmeine, you need to know what kind of a force we are dealing with. Lord Cromwell will not be easy to defeat. I am afraid the Elder Council was just a warm up for our family’s strength to be tested on Earth.”

Promise Me
(Promise Me Series #1)
Vampire romance
When young widow Sarelle McGarran finds the vampire Danial Racklan unconscious and hurt in her woods, intuitive concern quickly becomes passionate love.Together Danial and Sar work to overcome their own past heartbreaks, their vastly different lifestyles, and Danial’s relentless enemies. Yet Danial needs more; an Oath of forever. But can Sar give Danial his greatest desire?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt of Promise Me:
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you. But I want to be clear that I don’t expect you to give me money because we…because we’re—”
“Intimate?” he supplied with a leer. “Lovers?”
I blushed, glad my back was to him. “Yes,” I said curtly.
“It’s my feelings for you that make me offer. I understand you’re independent and used to taking care of yourself. But I want you to have an easier time of it than you had trying to go it alone. I want to take care of you. It’s your right, as befitting your station.”
“What station?”
“As my lover.” He nibbled the back of my neck, his hands sliding down my arms. “That is, if you still want to be.”
Did I ever. God, his lips felt good. I could feel little pricks where his fangs brushed against me… Focus! “What about the shirt?”
Danial paused what he was doing. “What about it?”
“Did you take some of my life force? Did you deliberately try to seduce me with a spell to get me to feed you?”
He didn’t reply. I shifted back from the fire and made to get up, but he pulled me off balance and I went down, falling into his waiting arms. I struggled in vain as he rolled me over on the carpet and straddled me, holding both my arms over my head with one hand, while the other caressed my cheek. I fumed as I looked at him above me, his upper half silhouetted by the fire. His eyes sparkled, his face in shadow.
“Now, Sarelle,” he purred, “why would I need to seduce you to get you to feed me?” He stretched down against me. I felt my body betray my anger as my breasts hardened and my breaths came faster.
“You gave me your blood when I was a stranger, willingly.” He leaned in closer as if to kiss me, but remained just out of reach. His dark eyes were locked on mine, filled with desire and familiar arrogance. He bent down to kiss my throat. “You gave yourself to me a night later, with no hesitation.”
His lips moved to the side of my throat. He ran a fang down my neck. I writhed, both in desire and a touch of fear.
“That was a dream. I knew it—”
“You knew nothing of the sort,” he said, his breath warm against my neck. He drew back and used his free hand to start unbuttoning my nightshirt.
“Stop,” I said, my breath tearing out of me.
“Stop what?” he said teasingly. “You want me, just like you have from the first moment you saw me. I can feel your body beneath mine, aching for me. Just as I’m aching for you.” He continued unbuttoning my top.
“Stop screwing around! I need to know if you—”
“It was your fantasy. A predictable one,” he said, his hand on the next to last button. He paused to run that hand between my breasts, up to clasp my throat. “But I was never in control of you. I couldn’t feed from you—not that I didn’t try. You seemed so willing to let me. But I couldn’t draw any energy from you and I awoke hungry, almost ravenous.”
“Terian was right—”
His hand tightened on my throat. “Why are you so determined to be the victim? Nothing happened that you didn’t choose to happen.” He gave me a half smile, his eyes growing darker. He brought his hand back to my nightshirt and undid the last button. He pushed my shirt to each side, baring my breasts and my lower body as he gave me a slow savoring look. That nimble hand slid up to grip my neck loosely. I knew he could feel how fast my heart beat. “That you could resist and take control from me in the dream amazed me.” His voice was full of wonder and affection. “No one has ever been able to do that. Not with me. Not in three hundred and seventy-five years.”
My Interview With AUTHOR TARA FOX
Tell me about your latest novel?
My latest book is Taken for His Own, the fourth installment in my Promise Me Series. It takes up where the third book left off. Sar had done her best to rebuild her life when her fiancé Theo went missing. She’s partnered with her former vampire lover Danial to raise Theo’s daughter Elle (Elle’s natural mother is dead from childbirth complications). She’s also had a child of her own with Danial, Theoron, and is trying to come to terms with her inevitable turning from human to vampire. When she finds out Theo’s alive, she can’t stop herself from journeying west to find him, and confront him about where he’s been for the last year and a half. This is where Taken for His Own begins. After a passionate reunion and a hasty marriage, the two lovebirds are headed back east. But picking up the pieces is far from easy. While Danial is accepting of Theo’s return, Elle prefers her vampire adoptive father over Theo. More than one enemy is waiting in the wings, making repeat attempts on Sar’s life. Add into the mix Devlin, Sar’s old enemy who’s now turned good guy, and a new paramour for Danial and you’ve got a powder keg primed to explode.
What sparked your passion for books and the art of a good story?
I’ve always enjoyed reading…a very passionate teacher taught me to read my first words in kindergarten, and I began devouring short books by first grade…and novels for YA by third grade.
Is there a particular book that changed or affected your life in a big way? The Hobbit. I like the message; that it’s not who you were or what you can do that influences what you will do, it’s how willing you are to step outside your own boundaries and push for what you think is right.
What challenges have you faced in your writing career?
Getting published. I spent 4 years getting rejection after rejection from every agent under the sun and also some publishers. But the near misses were the worst, to think that I finally had an agent or a publisher and then to have it fall through at the last moment. Those were the crushing blows. The newest thing I worry about are bad reviews.
Have you ever had a day when you just wanted to quit?
Of course. Getting my first 2 star review on Amazon made me want to quit. Poor sales in a given quarter makes me want to quit. Having no free time makes me want to quit. But I didn’t survive years of fighting to get my stories out to give up now.
What are the most important attributes to remaining sane as a writer?
Keeping your perspective that your every little creation is not going to be perfect…or get critical or popular acclaim. Some stories will be better than others. The key is to always try to make the next one better than the last one was.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Don’t give up until you do what you set out to do.
After this book, what is next?
There will be more books in this series. Two more will be out this year—Immortal Confessions and Her Secret—with more in 2014 and 2015, until the series is done. The next installment in the Lash Series, Revenge, will be out this fall, and hopefully my second anthology of short suspense/horror stories will also publish. There will also be the first Promise Me anthology and a Latham’s Landing anthology this fall. A new Lash short story, “Spiritwalker”, will debut in the Shifters charity anthology from Hazardous Press, and I also have a short story called “The Lie” in the upcoming anthology Brief Grislys, both due out in a month or less. I’m also working on a sequel to my transgender short Grow a Pair, and another compilation of BDSM stories for the late summer/fall.
Bio of Author Tara Fox Hall
Tara Fox Hall is an OSHA-certified safety and health inspector at a metal fabrication shop in upstate New York. She received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a double minor in chemistry and biology from Binghamton University. Her writing credits include nonfiction short stories, flash, short and novella-length horror stories, and contemporary and historical paranormal romance. Her horror stories have appeared in Deadman’s Tome, Flashes in the Dark, Ghastly Door, The Halloween Alliance, Black Petals, SNM Horror Magazine, Microhorror, Dark Eclipse, Cemetery Moon, and various anthologies, including the recently published charity works Fear (Vol. 1) and Shifters. She also coauthored the essay “The Allure of the Serial Killer,” published in Serial Killers – Philosophy for Everyone: Being and Killing (Wiley-Blackwell, 2010). She is the author of the paranormal fantasy Lash series and the paranormal romantic drama Promise Me series. Tara divides her free time unequally between writing novels and short stories, chainsawing firewood, caring for stray animals, sewing cat and dog beds for donation to animal shelters, and target practice. I’ve loved vampires since I saw Frank Langella in the first “hot vampire” version of Dracula years ago. That love intensified in my later teens with The Lost Boys, and reading Interview with the Vampire, along with anything vampire I could get my hands on. But I wanted more than the evil monster chasing young virgins; more than the sweet, misunderstood handsome fanged stranger that becomes the perfect mate for the woman who captures his heart after so many lone centuries. I wanted a vampire so well-crafted in detail that I could believe he was real. I wanted something different to happen in the story, other than girl becomes vampire, or vampire becomes dust. I wanted passion, tragedy, romance, suspense, action, and the haunting sweetness of poetry and song floating on a soft night breeze. So I penned my own vampires.
Interviewing Herself!TOTALLY off my Rocker!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Favorite character from a book.
I really love Dmitri, he is Tabbruis’ oldest friend.He is a very old Blood-Hunter, has a wicked sense of humor and gives balance to the terrifying situations Tabbruis and Charmeine are in.
Plus he is drop-dead gorgeous, tall, long black hair, built and deep blue eyes! Adonis plus! Hubba… Hubba… Hubba!!!!
2. When in the day/night do I write?
I write mostly at night. I like to sit for hours at a time and write with no interruptions, hence a lot of all-nighters!
3. How do I describe your writing style?
Modern and contemporary because I like to write the way I talk. However, the Blood-Hunters do not speak like we do. They are more formal in their sentence and language structure.
4. Do I listen to music while writing?
YES! I listen to music and all kinds from classical, dance, and hard rock. I put on my headphones and just write away. Mostly classical because sometimes I start typing the song into the computer… TOO FUNNY!
5. What are my favorite TV shows?
My favorites aren’t on anymore but I loved and have all the DVDs to Seinfeld, Will and Grace, Star Trek, Twilight Zone, Being Human UK Version and Vampire Diaries.
6. What songs are most played on my Ipod?
The top songs are ranked in this order on my Ipod:
Billy Joel - She’s Got a Way (of course)

Wagner-Tristan and Isolde Prelude
Back in Black-Highway to Hell
Boston-Livin’ for You
Alanis Morrissette –Gaurdian
7. Are the names of the characters in The Light-Bearer Series have some importance to me?
YES!!!! The characters are mostly named from Angels’ names. However, I do use names of people I have known in my life! I love to use a little bit of the people I knew or know. It’s fun!

Interview of the men in The Light-Bearer Series
This is Emily Guido reporting to you live from the “Castle Charmeine” in Romania.I have been waiting for the interview for several days now.
I didn’t know what to expect but when these gentlemen came in… I am (swallow) pleasantly surprised to say the least… (swoon)…
Gentlemen,Good Evening!
ALL: Good Evening.
Emily: Let me start out with a general question just to break the ice. Do all four of you live at the ‘Castle Charmeine’?
ALL: Yes.
Emily: Now, who originally owned this enormous and ancient castle?Tabbruis (in a slight European accent): I think Dmitri should answer that one.
Dmitri (in a very thick Romanian accent): Oh my… Well, you see my dear; I came to Romania a long time ago, over 5000 years ago, as a matter of fact.
(Chuckling)
I had many experiences here and some of the local townfolk used to make up a scary bedtime story about me… the “Red Dragon” is what they called me.
But then Tabbruis came, and we began to share the castle.
Emily: Excuse me? (wide open eyes) What do you mean by “Red Dragon”?Dmitri: Oh my… Well, my dear, Emily that is “Dracul” to you and I.
Emily: Uh….Dracula?
Dmitri: Well, my love, if you want to think it is me. Oh my…that is fine for me.
(Smiling at Emily with his bright white teeth and long eye-teeth)
Emily: Oh! Well that’s okay… (a little scared… turning to Tabbruis now…) Tabbruis please tell me about yourself?
(Still looking out of the corner of my eye at Dmitri who is smiling at me like a cat watching a canary)
Tabbruis: I… well I am just a happy man now that I have Charmeine.
She is my love, my wife, and she literally lights up my life.
Before I met my soul mate, I was incomplete… I do not know how to explain it…
Thomas: He was all alone. Tabbruis accepted it, but he was not happy?
Tabbruis: Yes, quite right. I never thought I would ever be mated to a woman. However, now that I have my soul mate, Charmeine, she is my universe.
Emily: Well Thomas since you spoke up? How are you today?Thomas: Yes, well… I am fine. We are very busy at the castle expanding and renovating.
There is a lot of family to accommodate, and we are constructing new rooms right now.
Neal (In a gruff African accent): My lover and Husband, Hameal, and I are constructing new additions to the Castle Charmeine. Hameal is skillfully assisting me. However, you three are trying to get me killed or at the very least permanently injured!
Tabbruis: I am sorry Neal. I became distracted… Charmeine was just so beautiful in her dress, that I could not concentrate.
Neal: That is no excuse for not paying attention; it was a power nail gun!
Emily (snickering): So I take it there was a mishap with a tool in the renovations?
Dmitri: Oh my… Yes well…
Tabbruis did not look where he was going…
Consequently he shot a nail, and it landed in my good friend and protector, Neal…
Thomas (laughing out loud): He shot him in the butt!
Dmitri: Oh my… yes but… (excuse the pun) everything is fine.
We, Blood-Hunters, heal very fast my dear Emily.
Tabbruis: Thank God for that!
Emily: So… on another subject… gentlemen, um tell me you are all so incredibly gorgeous, are all Blood-Hunters like you?
Dmitri: Oh my… well, I believe we are all classically handsome…
(giving a wink to Emily… *she swoons*)
Tabbruis: Dmitri… I think she means that we are some sort of eye-candy for the ladies.Dmitri: Oh my… I wonder what kind of candy I am?
(looking at Emily with his eyebrow raised)
Thomas (little squeak): I am… well yes ma’am… we are all… UGH!
Neal: Yes! I believe all Blood-Hunters are pretty good looking, but my love, Hameal is incredibly gorgeous!
Tabbruis: Neal means that Blood-Hunters, in general, are good looking… (Rolling his eyes)
Emily: I’m getting something of an undercurrent to this question? Is there?
Dmitri: Oh my… see my love, Emily, we are all good-looking to the ladies. Yes, very much so.
Thomas: But we did not ask to be so good-looking… I guess it comes just natural?

The MEN of the Castle Charmeine
Dmitri Thomas Tabbruis Neal
Emily: (fanning myself with my notebook): You all… I mean are all Blood-Hunters good-looking?
Tabbruis: Well women seem to be naturally attracted to us.
Emily (gets a drink of water… starting to get dizzy looking at these wowser men): How could women not be attracted?
Neal (gruffly): Do not look!
Thomas: She is a human woman. She cannot help but be attracted. Neal, just because you are not attracted to her does not mean she cannot look.
Neal: Well, I am certainly no woman’s eye candy!
Dmitri: Oh my… (as he purrs to Emily)
Emily (trying to avoid Dmitri but loving every minute): Have you had women falling over you before?
Tabbruis: Many times… but I waited 8000 years for Charmeine, my love!
Thomas: I… I am taking the fifth on that!
Dmitri: Oh my!
Neal: Never… Thank God!
Emily (pulling my hair up and taking a big gulp of water): Tabbruis, can you tell me your favorite past time at the Castle Charmeine?Tabbruis: That is easy, spoiling my love, Charmeine. We have two horses, Tristan and Isolde, which we ride and go down to our private beach. (Tabbruis smiled in revelry)
Emily: Private beach?Dmitri: The Castle Charmeine has a beach flanking its property on one side, so we ride out there every chance we get.
Neal: Yes, Tabbruis and Charmeine are out there quite a lot.
Tabbruis: I will have to admit that Charmeine and I love the beach. I just want her to happy. I love Charmeine so much…
Thomas, Dmitri and Neal: We know!!!
Emily: Well, on that thought, (wetting my lips down and fanning myself) I will end this lovely interview.
It certainly has been fun interviewing the “MEN FROM CASTLE CHARMEINE!”

Tabbruis… a Glimpse into his Blood Lust Dark Past. “The Light-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido
(Photo credit: AlexBudinPhotographer)
He woke up centuries ago on a rock in the barren desert by Mt. Sinai. The night covered the landscape and Tabbruis’ body was twisted and broken, but it healed within a few hours. Nothing had made sense and he had no recollection of how he got there.
Joseph, a teenage shepherd, was tending to his goats and sheep and found Tabbruis lying helpless on a rock naked. Tabbruis could understand Joseph said automatically. He spoke the language with a perfect dialect.
Joseph asked him questions and Tabbruis could not answer. His memory was devoid of anything before he awoke on the rock.

The boy befriended Tabbruis and gave him water, clothes and food. Even his precious cloak of different bright colors, Joseph shared with Tabbruis. But food did not sit very well on his stomach.
After nightfall on the third day, marauders stampeded the camp stealing the sheep, goats. Joseph screamed for help. The men were surprised to see Tabbruis come out of the tent. Intent to help the boy, he became angry and started to fight.
To Tabbruis’ surprise, fangs poked through his gums making him shocked and senseless. The blood he tasted from the fangs poking through his gums fueled his rage. He ripped a man off his horse and tore through the skin with his bare hands. As the spray of the man’s jugular hit Tabbruis in the mouth, he could taste the blood.

The man’s blood was nothing but exquisite to Tabbruis. It tasted so good, that for sheer hunger, he leaned down and drank. The liquid ran over his tongue, and it was sublime. He pulled on the man’s blood until all the life force was taken from him. By then, the marauders had left. With blood dripping down his jaw, he sat by the corpse and screamed, “Blood! I want more… more!”
He wiped his mouth of the sanguine liquid which flowed from his fangs. His hunger was strong and the yearning to drink blood was overwhelming. All Tabbruis thought about… all Tabbruis wanted… and all Tabbruis needed was the sweet nectar running over his tongue…blood.
As he set out to find more blood, he began to run. Soon he caught a scent of humans to his left, behind a huge sand dune.

With speed and accuracy, he climbed over the dune to watch them as they rested and talked beside their small encirclement of tents. His urge was too overpowering to think about a plan for attack.
Tabbruis leaped like a leopard and pounded on two of the men sitting by the fire. He held one by the neck in the air and the other he wrapped his fanged mouth on the neck of the other. Puncturing the skin and receiving his reward.
He was soon rushed by others with long metal sticks that he heard them call “Swords.” Naturally to him, he moved away to avoid their strikes with lightning reflexes. He picked up one of the odd shape “Swords” from his next victim that he drank dry in about one second, and began fighting with the experience of a champion sword master.
The men were hollering in their ancient language that he was a “Devil of Death!” Tabbruis heard all of their pleas and retorts for mercy. However, he never cared. He wanted more of the rich liquid that ran through their veins. Tabbruis was a merciless predator and nothing and no one could quench his blood-lust!

Bathsheba… wicked… from SEDITIOUS the 4th Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” COMING SOON!
In Romania, Tabbruis paced in front of Bathsheba’s bed in the hospital, and doubted if he could pull his role off. He was assigned to make her divulge information about Lord Cromwell while he used sexual attraction and flirtation to get Bathsheba’s defenses down.Tabbruis could not understand how he was duped by the woman in front of him. She was not one tenth the beauty Charmeine was. His arms ached to hold his wife, touch her belly and feel Baby Hunter under his hand. He closed his eyes and whispered a prayer, “God please give me another chance with my wife. Our two hearts are lost and cannot resume beating unless we are together. I was a fool, Lord. She is the only woman I have ever loved.”
He opened his eyes and looked at Bathsheba. He thought, ‘This was not love. I was never in love with her. Our relationship was something sick, dark and Evil, contrived by Lucifer himself!’
All of a sudden, he felt a prick on his neck. He turned to find Bathsheba in front of him with her fangs exposed.
Bathsheba wiped her red lips with her tongue and smiled with a drop of blood dripping down the side of her mouth. She teased her thick French accent, “You must be getting slower in your reflexes during the years.” She licked her lip with her tongue to entice him.Tabbruis wanted to kill her right where she stood! His eyes became black on the outside with green pinpoints in the middle. The eye change was not from desire, but from anger! He took a breath and resigned himself with the task he must do to make sure his family was safe.
“Bathsheba, I cannot believe you are alive,” he whispered as he closed his eyes and hugged her. “Why are you here?” He held her face an inch away and trembled with fury. He used all his strength not to destroy her on the spot, and thought, ‘Control Tabbruis, you have to get information from her.’
“You have been a naughty boy shacking up with a Light-Bearer. The thought of that cow with you makes me sick. Really Tabbruis, you should have a modicum of respect for the Elders?” She flirted with slanted eyes and a smile.
He clenched his teeth and wanted to slap the smile off her face. With his composure recovered, he asked, “Are you hungry Bathsheba? You must be. Let us go and get some refreshment.”“I would like you to come here.” She sat down on the bed, and patted a spot beside her. With a flip of her long black hair, she flirted, “Tell me what you have been up to Tabbruis. Where is the little woman anyway? She was very impressive. The Witch held me without even touching me.”
“Yes, I know, but she is not here now. She became angry, because I stayed by your bedside waiting for you to awaken. You know the type, very jealous?” He was glad she did not know about all of Charmeine’s powers.

When I wrote this,
I wanted the reader to understand how
regretful and angry Tabbruis was with himself,
let alone Bathsheba.
I have had times like that.
We are so mad at ourselves
but then the feelings are hard to control.

SEDITIOUS 4th book “The Light-Bearer Series” another 5 Star Review & Why I Wrote it!
John Quinlan (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
My first draw to reading was that I was fascinated by the Paranormal Romance. I’m sure my love for all things that are romance came from my ‘cookie-cutter’ image of my Prince Charming like in Sleeping Beauty.
However, the Paranormal came out of the feeling that there is something mystic out there in the universe. I was born and raised Roman Catholic and went to Catholic school from K-12, so if you know anything about Catholicism, you know that transformation and God’s hand changes elements of bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ.
So, from early on, I know there were other forces out there of Good and Evil. When I became a fully human being meaning as I grew up. I learned about Eastern Philosophy and Good Karma and Bad Karma. What I give out to the world, is given back to me. If I sow Bad Karma. . . I am sure to get it back 10 fold.
Why did I write, Seditious, the fourth novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”? Because believe it or not, I wanted Charmeine and Tabbruis, my star-crossed lovers, to come against what we normal folks deal with from time to time.I wanted my hero and heroine to have troubles with trust, money, disloyalty, separation, redemption and most of all, forgiving someone you love who has hurt you without conditions or ultimatums. It seemed that I needed to portray my super-human lovers as a regular husband and wife.
I finished three Young Adult books, Charmeine, Mactus and Accendo before this and I thought I could make “The Light-Bearer Series” last forever if I wished. There seemed to be endless manuscripts for my head to conjure up.
I had to reassess my work and how I was going to progress forward. I write Paranormal Romance, because I love to read it. So, with that notion in hand, I am forging more of “The Light-Bearer Series” because it seems to come naturally to me.
The Characters have become a family to me. From what I hear from people who read past the first novel is that they are family to them also. Don’t take it from me, just see the reviews.
Now that my passion or past-time is making my readers happy, there are plenty more on the horizon.
Anything to do with love, particularly forbidden love, I will almost go backward trying to make it work as a writer. I can pick and choose my villains and make them twist and turn.

Believe it or not, I write from Tabbruis’ point of view a lot. I love getting into his complicated, dark and broody Blood-Hunter mind. The doubting hero’s viewpoint is much more interesting.
In addition, I hate making women in my novels weak. . . Damsel in Distress has been done. It is time to see some Take Charge and Kick ‘em in the Ass Heroines and that is why Charmeine is sweet, kind and loving, but vicious and brutal when you mess with her family!

Here is another 5 star review of Seditious…
“Seditious” is the perfect title for this novel! Ms. Guido captured jealously, deceit, and restoration of love flawlessly. This novel shows a side to Tabbruis and Charmeine’s relationship which will throw any reader of “The Light-Bearer Series” off kilter. “Seditious” is the continuation of their romantic and turbulent love story and mission on Earth to battle Lucifer’s minions!
Life at the ‘Castle Charmeine’ is blissful until reality of the ruling the Elder Council of the Blood-Hunters causes decent. This fourth novel also adds unexpected depth to both Tabbruis and Dmitri’s personalities, humanizing both men.
Lord Cromwell is a lethal Blood-Hunter who has escaped the Elder Council Prison. He sends his beautiful agent to cause destruction to those who live at the Castle Charmeine.
Bathsheba is a deadly, sexy, and vicious siren who threatens Charmeine and Baby Hunter. Not just with her present actions, but, with the past she shares with Tabbruis and Dmitri.As Bathsheba lays injured, Tabbruis and Dmitri relive their agonizing and painful past with her. However, Charmeine is emotionally and physically threatened by Bathsheba and escapes to protect her unborn child.
This is the story of a family which works together to unravel Bathsheba’s deadly secrets. Just when you think they are in the clear, a more heinous and ominous villain waits in the wings to tear apart our ill-fated lovers, Charmeine and Tabbruis.
“Seditious” is a heart-wrenching and exciting story of passion, betrayal, and redemption you will not want to miss!
