Are reviews the only thing to consider?
I really do not like qualifying “The Light-Bearer Series” by the star rating.What I do tell people is that “The Light-Bearer Series” is a very sweet Romance with Adventure in the Paranormal.
If or when you read “The Light-Bearer Series,” you will say the same. It’s really about the story, not the ratings.
I perceive that the real reason for review is to provide the other readers out there with the information needed to reach a decision. The review could also help the author on how he/she can strengthen their book.
However, I received this great review from a very well-respected blogger, and I treasure his thoughts. He has read Charmeine and Mactus all with reviews also.
I tell everyone the three books were written as one book and to judge them on just the first book devalues “The Light-Bearer Series.”
So, I am not surprised when a reviewer’s opinion goes up exponentially as they read deeper into “The Light-Bearer Series.”

AccendoThe third book in “The Light-Bearer Series” gets a FIVE STAR review!
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/736288274?book_show_action=false
Accendo is the third book in the Light-Bearer series written by Emily Guido, and the final part of the first trilogy. I think the best way to call it is the “Elder Council Trilogy” as from the first book, Charmeine, it is obvious that the Elder Council have a hatred of Light-Bearers, and Accendo explains why this is.
This is a religious book, but please do not let that discourage you. I have read several books with religion being one of the main factors and they have turned out to be very good books.
There is just the right amount of action and paced well, with the lead up to it has you on the edge of your seat, and it does not disappoint.
We learn more about the main characters through the author’s unique style of writing, and she does not go into too much detail with the supporting characters, just enough to learn who they are.
Emily’s descriptions give you a mental image of the surroundings, and I am very impressed that she has not shied away from same sex relationships.
This is, in my opinion, the best book of the series so far.
Well done Emily, I look forward to the release of your next book.

Their light… snippet from “MACTUS” 2nd novel in ‘The Light-Bearer Series’ by Emily Guido
Making a serious face, Shane sat on the floor by the couch holding her hand. “No Dad, I was always getting into trouble, and she was constantly bailing me out. No matter how hard I tried to lie, Char always knew when I was untruthful. So, it forced me to be honest with her.” Shane’s face became filled with regret as he looked at his mom, Charmeine. “You see, Dad, I was caught with a bunch of the guys from the orphanage when we accidentally set fire to the tool shed. We were facing criminal charges of arson. The court was going to send us off to Westbury, Long Island Juvie prison. Char showed up at the Suffolk County Courthouse when we were sentenced. She insisted on speaking with the judge. The police had no evidence we set the fire intentionally. The gang went out to smoke in the tool shed because it was cold. But the cigarette butt wasn’t put out all the way, and it sparked a fire.”
Shane shook his head, took a big breath. “She insisted all of us be given work detail and probation instead of serving time. Hell, she debated with the Judge! She argued that if the Prosecutor couldn’t show evidence of pre-meditation, no one got hurt, and the shed was valued at less than $1000, we weren’t guilty of a sentence which required jail time. “Well, even though the Judge was upset with her, he was thoroughly impressed by her argument. He made us serve our time at the orphanage doing year-round yard work. You name it. We did it. We raked leaves, shoveled snow, planted flowers, weeded and mowed. The custodians of the orphanage thought we were the best thing to come along since sliced bread because we did their work. To her credit, it kept us out of trouble and close to the orphanage.

“The judge closed our records when we left the orphanage because she asked him to. She didn’t want us to start out with a scar on our permanent records, since we made amends.
“Char was . . . I mean Mom was the only light in my life as I grew up. It is appropriate Mom is a Light-Bearer. She was always my light.” He looked lovingly at her while tears fell down his cheeks.
Seeing his son’s pain, Tabbruis wished he could take it away. He wiped the tears which fell from his son’s face and cupped his chin. Tenderly, he whispered, “Your mother is my light also.”~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As I thought about this snippet,
I was moved by people who helped me in my life.
I loved John Denver, but this song is special to me.
I have people who have shined for me
when I needed them
This is my dedication to them . . . to you . . .
You!
Lots of love,

I missed you . . .
I have a story to tell.
But this is more of a personal one.
I have been through some changes called for all us . . . life.
Let me catch you up.
First, I am finishing my MBA. Class is very hard on me because it is a ton of studying.Because I will have my MBA soon, I realized working at a county college the pay was very low. Benefits were good, but pay was so low that it was two times less than other workers in my job category. Plus it doesn’t help living in one of the most expensive states to live in the United States . . . New Jersey close to New York City.
So, it forced me to go head long into finding a job in the most unemployable state in the union. More than any state in the United States, New Jersey unemployed are facing not being able to collect unemployment because they have been out of work so long.
Needless to say, I worked like a dog putting in resume after resume to every job I was qualified for. I went on interviews and was disappointed. I thought I would never find a job, all the while, I was still employed and had to take off work to go on the interviews. I did have an opportunity, but I would have to move to California.Finally, I got a lead that I was very interested in! I interviewed with them and and another company. Following that were tense days, which turned into weeks waiting to be called back for second and third interviews.I got offered both jobs. I chose the one with the most opportunity for a future. Starting a new job is hard. Your whole being is put into concentrating and learning. It’s exciting but for me, but I don’t feel like there isn’t anything I can’t handle in my new job.
For more of my challenges . . . as of today, I have lost 101 pounds. To illustrate the change, I have some pictures.

This is me before my surgery in June 2013 at a book signing and lecture I gave.
Since my gastric-bypass surgery in July 2013, 7 months ago, my body has been through a huge change.

This is me last July 2013.
It is the best thing I have ever done, but I am still in the process of learning my new body.

This was taken at Christmas time, 2013.
Body Image is not just a phrase, but it is evident that I am not used to this body yet.

This was taken recently!
Also, my eating habits have drastically changed. I can’t eat like everyone else. It’s a challenge and sometimes . . . a hardship! Food is just a chore to eat now. I am forced to be careful with EVERYTHING I put into my mouth. I can’t go to parties or go out and have a drink without thinking twice . . . What can I have? What should I bring with me if I can’t eat the food? Will I get my 80 grams of protein in today? s there sugar, salt, pepper, or alcohol in the food or drinks?
Also, I feel quite ill sometimes when I eat. From my old eating habits, I sometimes don’t chew enough or eat too fast. Also, if I have sugar or spicy food, I have an instant reaction and it is very bad.
However, I would not change a thing!
I am not taking diabetic medicine anymore. I don’t have knee pains anymore. I don’t have backaches anymore. I can wear a seat belt in an airplane. I can walk for a long time. I can walk fast too. I am able to wear clothes off the rack, I don’t have to go to specialty clothing stores. My heart rate is improved. My blood pressure is normal. My triglycerides and cholesterol is normal.
On another change . . . I was asked to upgrade and sign a five year contract with PDMI publishing!!
After much consideration and consultation, I decided that it was the right thing to do! My fourth book, Seditious, will be published soon.
I’m writing my sixth book now, Conundrum.
Why am I posting this?
Because of the ALL my friends and fellow bloggers who I admire and missed during my absence should know the reasons why I was away.
I missed you all terribly!
I hope you all understand the changes which have been happening have drawn me away.
I am ending the post with the song that speaks to me about struggle and change, and how we will survive! Appropriate that it should come from a celebration of Nelson Mandela Day!
Lots of love,

Blood Lust . . . CHARMEINE 1st novel in “The LIght-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tears were pouring out of Charmeine’s eyes clouding her vision. Tabbruis’ pallor was almost white. Helplessness enveloped her. She screamed with all the fear she felt in her soul, “Damn It To Hell!”
In desperation, she cut her finger with the letter opener. She pushed her bleeding finger through his lips, and rested it on his tongue. “Taste my blood; you need to drink now, Tabbruis.” She whispered in his ear, “Drink . . .”
Tabbruis rolled his eyes. He could not believe it, but her voice was the same voice he heard eight thousand years ago telling him to ‘drink’ when he chose to only take the blood from animals instead of humans.
Charmeine saw there was no response from him. Still with her bathing top on, she unzipped her hoodie and took it off. While dripping blood on her neck, she pulled Tabbruis up into a sitting position and leaned his mouth against her neck rubbing her bloody finger against her jugular vein and his lips.
Tears were rolling down Charmeine’s face. She said in his ear, “Hold on to me, Tabbruis, don’t leave me now. I’ve been searching for you my whole life. Semper . . . tua . . . ero . . . Tabbruis . . . I am forever yours.”
Finally, Charmeine felt a puncture in her neck and gasped at the pain, but was very relieved. Something strange happened when he began to pull on her blood. She felt a rush of warmth run through her body. When he pulled again on her blood, a shock of pleasure ran up and down her body. She laid back on the bed too weak to hold up his weight up anymore.
Going on Tabbruis’ basic instincts, he rested across the top of her with his mouth buried in her neck. He pulled on her sublime and sweet blood again. When he drank, an electric, sexual heat filled all his senses.
Charmeine did not know what was going on. She had never felt like this before. She pressed him against her body and whispered, “Hold me, Tabbruis. Hold me closer.”
With a low growl, he began to wrap his arms around her tightly.
She moaned with pleasure as she locked her hands on his back feeling his muscles tighten under her touch.Tabbruis was not only reveling in her sweet and divine blood rushing over his tongue, but he was on fire with desire. His body had never experienced the feelings of pure want and sexual need which flowed through him. Never had Tabbruis wanted anyone, but he craved Charmeine’s body and soul. He did not want to let go until they were both satisfied with the need they both were feeling.
"The Light-Bearer Series" Interview with the Vampire Tabbruis
For Vampire Wednesday an Interview with Tabbruis, the Blood-Hunter Vampire in “The Light-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido
Tabbruis
EG: Hello! I thank you for stopping by today to talk with us on Mari Well’s Vampire Wednesday. I have some questions I would love to ask you.
EG: How do you say your name and where did your unusual name come from?
"The Light-Bearers Series" and "The Talk"
Let’s have ‘the sex talk’ about Vampires shall we?
Does “The Light-Bearer Series” Blood-Hunter/Vampires try to make like bunnies? Or do I coax the smexy out of my characters?
Tabbruis and Charmeine
“The Light-Bearer Series” is a YA love story about a sweet, innocent and somewhat playful romance between two star-crossed and totally different people, Tabbruis and Charmeine. During “Charmeine,” “Mactus,” and “Accendo” I wrote a lot of backstory and history which explains why Tabbruis and the other men in the series are so damaged.
Armand of
The luscious character Armand is wonderful and so very damaged! Love those men like that. The eyes, hair and accent send me rolling in my imagination as I read.
Cover of Twilight (Twilight, Book 1)
Edward
of
Twilight
By Author Stephanie Meyer
I don’t want to anger ‘Edward Fans’ but I really liked his character. He seemed very cool and still with a vulnerable streak. I was fortunate to read the Edward Commentary that the author put out and it was interesting to read because Twilight was all in the prospective of Bella. It really opened my eyes.
I was not a Twilight fan then, BUT after reading the Edward Commentary, I really got into it and ended up reading the whole series.
Demetrius
of
Dragon’s Fall: Rise of the Scarlet Order
By Author David Lee Summers
WATCH OUT DRACULA! There’s a woman who can take you on and more! Excellent book! Loved it!
All I have to say is that this book does not disappoint. It starts with the most poignant comment that slavery or being owned was awful. The book is centered around a woman driven not to be owned or used. She was strong, noble, and kind, but she wanted to be free. She would use any means to be free. I loved her counterpart who was in David Lee Summer’s other book which I also love Demetrius. I hope I got the spelling right.
If you love Paranormal Vamps with a bite, you HAVE to race out and buy this book. It was fun, sexy, and adventurous at the same time.
It takes a lot to satisfy my hunger for good Vampire books and this one of my FAVORITES!
Wrath
of the
Black Dagger Brotherhood Series
by Author JR Ward
I have read the whole series.
Again those eyes, those sky blue eyes, which by the way is his only weakness, the bad guy, and brooding looks with long hair. I know I would not stake him, that is for sure!
Aaronof
Aaron’s Kiss Series
by Author Kathi S. Barton
I have read the whole series also. Aaron can be in lair any time. He is just as strong and handsome as you would expect. However, I don’t have a lair. I will settle for his…
Jackof
Vampire Syndrome
by Author Daven Anderson
Jack is one of the best HERO vampires that I have read about. He has Down’s Syndrome and his story as a newly formed vampire running for his life, literally had me spellbound. I was cheering and sitting on the edge of my seat reading this intriguing and thought-provoking book.
I LOVED Vampire Syndrome! If you haven’t read it, you really have to!
Lynxof
Creatures of the Damned, The DeWinter Series
by Author Misty Harvey
His past his kind of a mess and he is a damaged child. I expected the same old creatures to come out of the wood work as the story developed. However, not so for this novel! It wasn’t that way at all. From the beginning, I was rooting for him.
Kennethof
Legacy Forgotten
by Author Nicole Hill
I loved, loved Kenneth! What a twisted, messed up and downright awesome leading man/vampire! I enjoy and are addicted to flaws in characters like Kenneth, and then love comes to “bite” them into a different reality. Kenneth was drop-dead smexy! I really loved the way he was portrayed, and he sure kept my attention!
Dracula
of
Dracula
by Author Bram Stoker
Hot, sexy, vampire and ALMOST my favorite. He is bad, deliciously bad. I can write on and on about Dracula. I have loved his character since I was a nine year old girl
Tabbruisof
The Light-Bearer Series
by Emily Guido
Tabbruis is my FAVORITE VAMPIRE! Aww shucks, you guessed that didn’t you? Why do I love him? I wrote him exactly like I want a vampire to be. Dark, brooding, heroic, lustful, bashful at times, humorous, unbelievably charming, gallant, incredibly rich beyond belief and magnet for every woman who breathes.
Tabbruis is the Blood-Hunter, Vampire, of my series. I am totally enamoured of him… much to the detriment of any other man in my life.
Tabbruis lives so much in my dreams that I bought his car, a 2013 Black Dodge Charger with a HEMI 8 valve 465 horsepower engine. I wonder if I can get a vanity license plate for I LUV TAB?Tabbruis was formed in Heaven and an Angel before he fell and became a Vampire… no wonder I love him, he’s good and bad all combined…. grrrr!
