“Hot at the Beach” smexy snippet from “Charmeine” the First Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”
Relaxing on the beach (Photo credit: virtualphotographystudio)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tabbruis and Charmeine came up to their beach spot and rested beside each other on the blanket.
Shane was back but he had put on his iPod and fell asleep under the umbrella.
As Tabbruis and Charmeine lay under the hot August sun, their hands rested beside each other.
They closed their eyes and rested, Charmeine’s hand began to give off little sparks of electricity into Tabbruis.
Tabbruis could feel their two hearts beating in time together.
Charmeine turned and whispered into Tabbruis’ ear, “I really believe this is what Heaven feels like.”
Tabbruis grinned and thought turnabout was fair play and turning toward her. He whispered with his breath on her neck and nuzzled her ear, “I believe it would be Heaven if we were alone on this beach Charmeine.”
Tabbruis’ corners of his mouth were curved in a smile, and laid back down on the blanket. He knew exactly what he had done to Charmeine.
Charmeine was so turned on that she began to shiver.
Tabbruis could feel her heart leap to her throat.
She couldn’t speak. Charmeine was beginning to warm all the way down her body. She tried to recover and say something but she could not.
Tabbruis turned toward her and she stared deeply in his emerald eyes. He bent down and began to softly and slowly kiss the outside of her ear lobe.
Charmeine was starting to breathe heavily and her body felt like it was on fire!
Author’s Favorite Scene of “Charmeine” the First Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Above all, to love a soul and not have that love returned is the cruelest torture…” quote by Emily Guido
Tabbruis said, “You look like an Angel.”
Charmeine shook her head and said weakly, “Tabbruis, I would like to be alone for a while.” Charmeine sighed as she sat down on the lawn couch.
Tabbruis wanted to grab her and kiss her. He trembled for her touch but he had to remember, the last time they were together, she was planning on leaving him. With the attack a couple days away, Tabbruis had to convince Charmeine he was not the same man who went to get his Wife at Smith Point Beach. He was not the same man who thought he was invincible. Tabbruis learned all too well who really had true strength in their relationship, it was Charmeine all along. He knew now that only in Charmeine’s love of the family and the power of her faith in God made him strong.
Tabbruis said, “Yes, I will leave, but… I need to say a few things first Charmeine.” Troubled, shaking, and weak… Tabbruis came and pulled up a chair in front of her.
Very concerned Charmeine said, “What is it Tabbruis? You are shaking.” She was disturbed because he looked like he was ready to pass out or break down.
Tabbruis took a big breath and looked Charmeine in the eyes saying, “I am sorry Charmeine, for so many things it is hard to express them all… but I am going to try.” He looked exasperated and said, “I am sorry for not supporting you. I am sorry for not believing in you. I am sorry for not having faith in you. I am sorry Charmeine. If you let me show you, for the rest of my life until the end of time, I will never doubt you again.”
Charmeine said shaking her head, “Tabbruis, I can’t do this now.”
He shook his head, “Please let me finish?” Tabbruis looked at her in the eyes and declared, “Charmeine you are my life. You are my light. If you go back to Long Island…”
Charmeine got up and went to the stone railing of the terrace saying, “Tabbruis, it isn’t so easy putting Jack and Jill back together again. I really need to be alone.”
Tabbruis came to the stone railing and said, “Look at me this time, Charmeine. I have to say my peace and I will leave.”
Charmeine turned and faced him with her hands across her chest and sighed.
Tabbruis looked into her eyes and said, “If you go back to Long Island, I will accept it, but let me go and be near you. Let me live near you. I can buy any kind of house or apartment you wish for your own privacy. You do not need to see me, just let me be near you, for you are the center of my Earth. God knows I cannot live without being near you. You never have to lay your eyes on me. I just want to be close to you. That is what I ask. Nevertheless, please forgive me, Charmeine. Forgive me enough to let me just be proximate to you. If you abandon me, I will not survive. Whatever you want, I will give it to you. Wherever you go, I will go with you.”
Tabbruis unfolded her arms and took her hands. He unclenched her fists and drew them up in front of them, palm to palm.
Charmeine’s sparks were going up and down their bodies, enveloping them with light.
Charmeine said to Tabbruis, “Do you remember the first time this happened? You were trying to convince me not to leave and sacrifice myself to the Elder Council?”
Tabbruis said, “Yes, I remember,” he drew near her saying, “I know you cannot lie to me Charmeine. Do you have the strength to be without me either?”
Charmeine said, “How long have you been working on that speech?”
Tabbruis nodded and said, “Well, I have to admit, I have been rehearsing it ever since we left Smith Point Beach.”
Charmeine eyed him with a suspicious eye saying, “Well you are not lying. I thought so.”
Then Tabbruis’ eyes became like pools of tears, he said, “I am so afraid of what you are going to say, my heart feels like it has been incased in ice and cannot beat.”
Charmeine broke free from his hands and their circle of light was gone. She faced the Black Sea holding onto the stone fence of the terrace and took a big long breath of fresh air.
Not looking at him, Charmeine said, “Tabbruis let me say that although I was heartbroken you did not have faith, trust and belief in me, I know you are truly sorry which has healed my heart.”
Tabbruis started to reach for her, but she held up her hands willing him to keep his place.
Keeping her face to the Black Sea, she said, “Reconciliation seems like such a passé word but it’s really love… God knows I have so much love in my heart for you I cannot bear to be away from you also. I knew you came into my room and watched me while I slept after I came back from Long Island. I could feel your presence and then I could sleep. I knew when I was crying myself to sleep one night; you came over and held me until I fell asleep. God knows I love you. I see now we can’t be apart, because we are one.”
She turned to look at him, “Looking into your eyes, Tabbruis, my love, I can see eternity. It was over before it begun, our destinies are one like it has been since God made me for you and you for me.”
Tabbruis embraced Charmeine. He slowly bent to kiss her so softly it warmed her to the bottom of her soul. She said, “Semper tua ero, my Husband.”
Smiling Tabbruis said, “Semper tuus ero, my Wife.” He shook his head and said with tears running down his cheeks, “Pure love, God’s love was right here before my eyes, and I was such a doubtful fool.” As they began to kiss deeply, Tabbruis stopped and said tentatively, “Will you? I mean… will you wear my ring?”
Charmeine nodded and smiled saying, “Yes, of course.” Tabbruis got the ring out of his pocket and slipped it on her finger. He bent down and kissed it and her hand. She said, “You have been carrying it around with you all this time?”
Tabbruis said, “I could not part with it or you.”
Charmeine said, “I see you never stopped wearing your band this whole time.”
Tabbruis said, “I could not bear to even think of taking it off.”
Tabbruis and Charmeine hugged and both melted into each other letting the stress of the past ease away.

“Zero Tolerance” snippet from “Charmeine” the First Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tabbruis nodded, “So, I take it my Brother that you were sent by Dmitri?”
Neal nodded and said with a deep gruff voice, “Dmitri thought I had particular skills in this kind of security and sent me to assure you and your family’s safe passage from the Elder Council and their Temple Guards, since I was one.”
Shane was alarmed and threw his arm over Charmeine and said, “Wait! You are a blood-hunter? How can we trust that you won’t hurt my Mom?”
Tabbruis opened his mouth to try to calm Shane down.
Neal immediately spout off to Shane in a gruff voice, “I am a blood-hunter and an Elder, I also was a Temple Guard for the Elder Council, but I have changed. I do not partake in killing humans and do not hunt or bother light-bearers. I have a friend who is a light-bearer also. I do not hold grudges or hurt light-bearers as long as they do not bother me.”
Treating Shane like an insolent child Neal continued saying, “You see, Shane, there are some Elders like your Father; who are tolerant and accepting of others! Elders who believe the only way to exist on the Earth is in peace. We do not seek violence but peace with the humans and like I said before, we do not hunt and seek light-bearers for sport. We do not wish for any more humans or light-bearers to die at our hands.
Listen to me… this is not the first time I have ever experienced a blood-hunter take a light-bearer for a mate, let alone have a child, but that union and family did not fare well. I am pledging my protection to your family so what happened to the other blood-hunter and light-bearer will not happen to my good and loyal friend Tabbruis. He and your family have my word of honor.”
Neal extended his hand to Tabbruis.
Tabbruis took his hand and saying, “Thank you Neal, and I have missed you my good friend and brother.”
Shane still doubtful said, “I apologize for my insinuation, I just want Char… my mom to be okay.”
Neal said, “I will shield her with my life.”
Charmeine looked into Neal’s eyes and asked, “Do you plan on protecting my whole family?”
Neal returned her gaze and answered, “I will with my life.”
Then Charmeine smiled big and she knew instantly Neal was telling the truth and said, “Well, I can’t exactly call part of my family Neal, what is your given name?”
Neal said, “My given name died a long time ago.” He looked out the window while Tabbruis put his hand on his shoulder. He said with a sigh, “But my friends call me Neal.”
Charmeine looked at Tabbruis and Shane, extended her hand to Neal and said, “Neal is a new member of our family. He is our brother now. I am so pleased you are with us Neal.”
Neal smiled at this and said, “You have a light which shines as bright as the sun. No wonder Tabbruis was attracted to you. I will accept you as my sister as I have accepted Tabbruis as my brother. Your family will be safe as long as I live. I will be your family’s Protector.”
At this, the tension in the Hummer began to end. Charmeine knew their mission was all the same, safety and protection of their family.
Piano Keys warm (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tabbruis said, “Yes, you are sitting but…” and pulled Charmeine in a tight embrace kissing her until she became breathless. He said in a hungered whisper in her ear, “Play for me, please? I think it is very sensuous when you play.”
Charmeine’s head was fuzzy, Tabbruis got off the piano bench and moved over to the window patio doors.
Tabbruis leaned on the door jamb and his feet were spread apart with his arms crossed over his chest. Charmeine loved it when he stood that way. Tabbruis looked so powerful, so drop dead gorgeous when he stood like that.
Charmeine couldn’t help admire his body and she raked him over him with her eyes and her desire was boiling.
Pouring the fervor she was feeling into the piano, Charmeine attacked the piano keys and began to play passionately, ‘The Revolutionary’ .
Tabbruis thought he never heard Chopin’s Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor, ‘The Revolutionary’ played so well. He knew when Charmeine attacked the keys; she was attacking him with all of her desire, passion and want.
The piano exploded with sound.
Tabbruis took one step at a time towards her while she was playing. Charmeine was drawing him, enticing him, exciting him, and he had no control over his urges. When the last notes rang out, Tabbruis grabbed Charmeine holding her tightly and kissing her passionately. He felt her legs giving out on her, and he pushed her up against the wall.
Charmeine loved having his hands and body on her.
Tabbruis half-growled in her ear, “Now, I am really jealous of that damned piano.”
