“Recovery Mission” part two excerpt from “ACCENDO” the 2nd Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” and “FANGS and HEARTS” week!

Tabbruis was still on the beach held down by Charmeine’s power as she was backing up.  He had no idea she had this kind of mystical skill.  It seemed her powers were growing and growing every day.
Charmeine said with venom in her voice, “I really wish you could stay there.  You should think about how your lies injured me!  I wish you could understand.  Yes Tabbruis, you have ripped our hearts apart.  You have no right to speak to me anymore as a wife, lover, or even friend!  We have to live separately.  My Tabbruis, my husband, my Champion has died!  I have no one now!”
Charmeine started to cry so much her eyes were pools of tears and she said, “I guess it was all a bedtime story, a fairy-tale.  Now, looking at you lying there being held down by my anger and disgust, it was all just a dream and my alarm clock has finally gone off.”
He gasped, “Charmeine, I am still your Tabbruis!”
She yelled, “My Tabbruis is dead!  I loved and depended on him!”  She threw her head up and looked at the blue sky.
Charmeine said in a strong voice, “All of my being wants you to stay in that spot until you realize what you have done by your lack of support and lies!”  Then she laughed with malice in her voice, “Maybe I will…”
Tabbruis watched his wife, his love, his Charmeine walk off over the dune barrier toward the tunnels and parking lot.  He could not do anything about it.  Tabbruis was powerless.  She held him in her immovable electric current.
Tabbruis yelled, “Charmeine!  Charmeine!  Release me now!”  He looked at her hair shining in the sun and her body was reciting to him a siren’s call.  He was excited just by her presence.
Almost to the tunnel Charmeine turned around and threw her voice 100 feet at Tabbruis in a whisper, “Oh yes, I have another power now… I know you can hear me!  Aha!  I found the limo.”
Tabbruis watched as Charmeine threw a flourish with her finger and he was released.
Instantly Tabbruis was in front of her and sternly said, “Charmeine!  Do not walk away from me!  Do not walk away from me ever!”
Charmeine looked into his deep green eyes rimmed black with anger and sexual heat.  She said softly, “Tabbruis, I want my life back.  I want to come back to Long Island and teach again.  I want to be Miss Charleen Davis again.  This… we… will never work.  Maybe you should have never rescued me in that parking lot.  If I am truly the Queen of Light, I should have been able to defend myself.  I should never rely on anyone to take care of me.  I never did before I met you, and I was fine.  I should have never trusted and married you.  I don’t know what I was thinking.  I should have stayed by myself.  As far as that ring on your finger, its properties are not precious metals but cheap pennyweights.”
What Charmeine said cut Tabbruis to his core.  He was shocked!  His heart was encased almost totally now.  He could not feel it even pump.  However, Tabbruis had to get through to Charmeine!  She could not leave him.
Tenderly Tabbruis said, “Charmeine, my love….”  Tabbruis took Charmeine’s hand and the hand did not spark!
She looked at him through tired eye lids and they both looked down.
Tabbruis was taken aback and Charmeine said, “I don’t spark for you anymore Tabbruis.  My heart is dead like my love is dead.”
Tabbruis in desperation said, “Charmeine, do you not understand you cannot leave me?  Part of your heart lives in me, and part of my heart lives in you. We are joined.  We are not whole when we are separated; therefore, we cannot live apart.”
Charmeine gently took his face in her hands and looked into his eyes softly saying, “Tabbruis, I will admit to being in love with you so deeply I do not know where I end and you begin.  However, I think of you as my rock, my cool shade tree on a hot summer’s day, and my ocean which is always dependable with the waves coming in and out of shore.  It makes me hurt inside in my heart knowing you did not trust me, knowing you did not believe in me, and most of all, knowing you lied to me.”
Charmeine ran her fingertips with a feather light touch over his lips when he tried to talk and said, “You see Tabbruis, I depend on you to be my rock, I depend on you to be my shade tree, and I depend on you to be my ocean.  When you do not believe in me or lie, my rock falls into pebbles, my tree withers and my ocean dries up.”
Charmeine whispered looking at Tabbruis with her worn-out eyes, “We should get to the airport for the battle.  I flew here two days ago.  I have not slept nor eaten.  I do not have enough strength to fly.”
Charmeine wearily walked through the tunnel to the parking lot.  She turned around and looked at Tabbruis and the air was blowing through his chestnut brown hair with the highlights all around it.  His eyes seemed like pools of green liquid emeralds.  He was standing with both of his feet out and his arms put over his chest like a shield.  Charmeine thought, ‘Even now, he is nothing but a work of art in the flesh.’  She turned around and kept walking toward the limo with her head high while tears were streaming down her face.

Tabbruis lost without Charmeine…

Tabbruis was traumatized.  Charmeine was his wife in Heaven and on Earth.  They belonged together.  He loved her.  Tabbruis was angry and burned with a fire in his belly.  He thought, ‘Why had Charmeine not trusted my judgments?  I am the person with the military experience.’  However, he was livid because Charmeine said she would leave him.
Tabbruis was lost without her.  His life revolved around this very beautiful and complex creature.  His light, his breath, his laughter, his love was inside Charmeine.  She was the only woman he had ever wanted to be with, let alone love on the Earth.  Tabbruis needed Charmeine more than she would ever know.  When she left, it was a wonder he had not lost his mind.
Tabbruis got into the limo after Charmeine.  She slid across the seat to the other side as far as she could to be away from Tabbruis.  She kept her head turned towards the window.  Irritated, Tabbruis asked, “Driver privacy please?”  The window between the seats came up.
As the limo started to make its down William Floyd Parkway, he turned and said, “I feel like I am damned at whatever I say to you.”  Tabbruis could see Charmeine’s reflection in the glass.  He saw her close her eyes taking in what he had said.
Trying to start some kind of dialogue with her, Tabbruis said, “We have relocated the squad to Athens, Greece to prepare for the battle.  I have moved all your things.  Once we get on the plane, you can eat.”
Charmeine did not respond to him.
Tabbruis sensed Charmeine’s heart rate was slow and could feel the immense stress in her body.  His heart was not doing any better, it was slowing and there was nothing he could do about it.  Tabbruis thought, ‘I really wish I could hypnotize her now.’

Fairy tales and happy endings…
We all want them and, in fact, we need them.
It is up to our inner strength, acceptance of what we have no control over and the wealth of love we shower upon our loved ones that make our happiness come true.
Today, give your loved one understanding and listen to them… for without love we are nothing but empty.
I have loved this song because of the line, “Gotta do what you can to keep your love alive”
PLUS I used to cruise in my ’60 Fury and have this song full blast on my AM Radio!

“Recovery Mission” part one, from “ACCENDO” the Third Novel from “The Light-Bearer Series” & Announce “FANGS AND HEARTS WEEK” Oct 24 – 31

Tabbruis wanted his wife.  He wanted Charmeine back badly.
All the worry and the confusion he had had for the last two days were gone.
Tabbruis just wanted to hold Charmeine in his arms again and have her come home.  He needed her.  Tabbruis’ heart had not worked right since she left.
When Tabbruis came over the dune barrier, he saw Charmeine in a tight ball crying.  Her beautiful long blond hair was flying around in the wind.  Tabbruis took a breath and thought, ‘She is alright; I have found my wife.  This nightmare is over.  Thank you God!’
Suddenly, Charmeine’s heart skipped a beat.  Charmeine felt an embrace around her and it felt like a dream.
Tabbruis whispered, “Semper tuus ero, Charmeine.”  She felt his burning kiss on her lips.
Charmeine couldn’t bring herself to open her eyes because she wanted to fall into his arms.  Out of an automatic reflex, she whispered among her tears, “Semper tua ero, Tabbruis.”
If Charmeine didn’t open eyes, she wouldn’t have to deal with the enormity that her life has become.
Finally, coming to terms with reality, Charmeine opened her eyes and the sun was glaring into them.  Charmeine realized Tabbruis was still holding her.
As a shot to her heart, Charmeine remembered Tabbruis’ lack of faith and belief.
Charmeine’s anger exploded inside her like a hydrogen bomb.  She flew like a lightning bolt down the beach.  Even so, Tabbruis caught up with her quickly.  Charmeine put her hands up and yelled, “No!  Don’t talk to me Tabbruis.  There’s nothing more to be said on the subject.  We have to get to battle.  The battle is the ONLY thing which matters.  Where is your limo?  I know you have one here.”
Tabbruis said in a pleading voice, “Stop Charmeine, I love you.”
Sarcastically Charmeine said, “Love?  Ha!  Where is your limo?”
He yelled, “Charmeine, please!  Let me talk to you!”
She stopped looking for the limo and stood in front of him.  She said, “Okay talk and you better look me in the eye.”
Tabbruis took a big breath and swallowed, “Charmeine, I love you.  You have no idea of how troubled I have been since you left.”
Charmeine yelled, “No!  I want to know the reason why you have no confidence in me!  That’s all!  Tell me Tabbruis!”
Tabbruis took a deep breath and said, “The rest of the squad has seen battles and warfare.  We were trying to get the best advantage for our attack.  However I trust you, Charmeine.  I believe in your intuition.”
Astonished… her eyes flew open.  She could not believe it.  Incensed, she said angrily, “You just lied to me, Tabbruis!”
Charmeine started running down the beach.
Tabbruis caught up to her and put his hands around her waist to draw her into him.  She yelled furiously with a hand to her heart because it was beating slow, “Get your hands off me, now!”
Struggling for breath because his heart was beating slowly too, Tabbruis said, “I will, once you listen to reason.”
Enraged Charmeine asked, “Reason?  So the little woman isn’t doing what you want, and you assume she’s hysterical?”
Red faced, Tabbruis said, “Well… now…. Yes!” and Tabbruis yanked Charmeine back to him.
Charmeine had reached her breaking point.  She took the heel of her hand and hit Tabbruis in the bottom of the nose.  Quickly, she turned and picked him up with a hip throw making Tabbruis hit the beach hard.
She threw a white light pulsing through her hands in Tabbruis’ chest, and he could not move his body.
Charmeine struggling to make her heart beat said with a commanding voice, “I am not your property.  If I do not want you to touch me, then you better damn well not!”
Tabbruis’ green eyes were rimmed black with anger and now, desire… he yelled, “You are my wife!  I will make you listen to me, Charmeine.”
Charmeine bent down remaining an inch above his lips looking him in the eyes.
Tabbruis started to growl mostly out of frustration but also with excitement and craving her body.  His heart was under attack like hers.  They both noticed their hearts were not beating as one anymore.  Something had died in their love for one another.
Charmeine had tears in her eyes.  They were falling on Tabbruis’ face, each one burning into him.  She looked him the eyes and said softly, “Tabbruis, you can never lie to me.  You see, it is one of my many powers.”  Still holding his stare an inch away from his lips while in tears, she said in a whisper, “You just lied to me.  You said you trusted me.  You said you believed in my intuition.”
Tabbruis felt her hot breath on his lips and softly growled, “Charmeine, I did not lie darling.”
Charmeine eyes widened and she did not blink.  She came down nose to nose with Tabbruis.  With a baleful look, she said, “You are just racking the lies up today, my Champion, my husband; three lies and a freaking ‘darling’ to boot!”
Charmeine backed away and got up, “Tabbruis, I have realized I need to let you go.  There is no way to compromise.  Do you not feel our hearts have been ripped apart?”
Tabbruis could not move to follow her, he was still immobilized.  When he heard Charmeine’s words, his heart slowed even more.
He knew she was right.  He felt their hearts were being slowly ripped apart.
The vice-grip around his heart was more and more powerful.  The same vice-grip that was on his heart before he found her had almost completely re-positioned itself.

“Light-Bearer SWOT Analysis” snippet from “ACCENDO” the Third Novel of “The Light-Bearer Series”

They were all gathered in Dmitri’s rather large study/library where he arranged for the evening meal and strategy session to attack the Elder Council.
Charmeine clapped, jumped up and down when they brought in the pizza along with everything else.  She exclaimed, “Pizza! I love pizza!”
Everyone smiled and Shane said, “Yep, at Joe’s on Union in Holbrook, I’ve seen Char put down a large pizza by herself!”
Sandra bumped knuckles with Charmeine and yelled, “Girl Power!”
With all of the squad fed and rested, Charmeine noticed there was a positive mood in the room.
Dmitri said, “Everyone let’s move to my conference table and get to work.”  Once they were seated, Dmitri first said very politely, “My Queen, please do not think we are leaving you out of the planning, but several of us here have military training.  Will you indulge us while we plan?”
Charmeine threw her shoulders back and said, “Not in any way do I mind Dmitri, I just want to be in on the fight.”
Dmitri smiled widely and said, “Oh, you will be.”
Charmeine could see Tabbruis tense up and she said to him, “You are my Champion, remember?  You will be right with me, together.”
Tabbruis smiled and said, “Always.”
Dmitri said, “Let’s go around the table assessing strengths and weaknesses.”

Sandra said, “Like a SWOT Analysis?”
Dmitri said, “Oh my… very good, Sandra, yes!”  Sandra started the Smartboard and the screen lit up before them.  She started to draw four squares and labeling them, S-W-O-T.
Every aspect of their strengths was accessed.
Dmitri said, “My Queen, do you know what your capabilities are?  At practice the other night, each of us demonstrated and evaluated our efficiencies.  I have fought with Tabbruis and I know he has the same abilities as I do.”
Tabbruis nodded and said, “Yes, the same as you.  Like you, I am an excellent swordsman.” analysis
Charmeine straightened her shoulders and said, “I know my powers have increased since I discovered them on Jones Beach in Long Island.”  She laughed and said, “Geez Louise that seems like ages ago.”  Shane, Tabbruis and Charmeine laughed out loud.
Dmitri said, “Oh… very good My Queen.  The question is can you manifest them at your will?”
Charmeine looked pensive and asked, “Do you have a terrace?  If you do, would you mind if it gets messed up?”
Dmitri smiled wide and replied, “Oh my… not at all My Queen.”
A few minutes later everyone was gathered on Dmitri’s terrace.  Charmeine tensed up.  Tabbruis was by her side and she whispered, “I don’t know if I can do this.”
Everyone looked concerned.
Tabbruis shook his head and smiled wisely whispering to her, “Charmeine all you have to do is think about you, me and our family and the very deadly threat of it being taken away.  Think about when you were in Heaven and how you begged to save me.  Use the determination which is deep down inside your soul Charmeine.  You are strong and will do anything to protect your family.  I will be here with you.  I will be your Champion.”
Firmly Charmeine said with more conviction, “Please step beside me, Tabbruis.”
As he did, Charmeine began to think about protecting Tabbruis, Shane, Sandra, Thomas, Neal and Dmitri.  She felt the adrenaline running through her veins and thought, ‘Get your hands off my family.’
Charmeine thought of the threat from Pascal the other Elders.  Just then, her fingers began to spark and a white light started to surround her.  The wind began to blow and cracks of thunder roared through the sky.  Her hair was flying all around her head.  She put her hands out and shot a bolt of lightning across the terrace and it hit a statue on the walking path about 200 feet away.
She closed her eyes and huge balls of hail began to rain down on the pasture below.
With a push off the ground Charmeine jumped up and started slowly flying.  At first, she hovered and smiled at everyone below.  Suddenly, Charmeine shot across them down to the field as fast as a shooting star.  She flew around a tree headed for the terrace and yelled, “Whoo Hoo!”
Charmeine took off past them circling each of the lawn statues.
Shane shouted, “All right Mom!” and started clapping.
Sandra started jumping up and down and exclaimed, “Way to go girlfriend!”
Everyone started clapping and yelling.  Tabbruis was smiling proudly.  She waived and then decided to come back down to the Earth.  Charmeine flew to the terrace and jumped down next to Tabbruis.
Charmeine was panting and overjoyed.
Tabbruis shouted while clapping and smiling, “I cannot believe it!  You are amazing Charmeine!  You did it honey!  You are wonderful!”
She threw her arms around him and planted a big kiss on him.  Everyone was still shouting and clapping.
Charmeine began to well up with tears and said, “All I thought about was protecting my family.”
Dmitri smiled wide with a joyous look on his face saying, “Oh my… well we knew you were a wonder, but…”
Shane yelled, “My Mom is Superman!  Sic!  You Rock Mom!”
Sandra shouted correcting him smiling, “Wonder Woman, Sergeant Kelly!”
Shane laughed and said, “Correction noted Sergeant Gomez,” and they kissed.
The squad began to go back into the study.  Once at the table, Dmitri called the meeting to order.

The transition back to Romania was uneventful; no Elder Council repercussions hindered the squad from moving back into the castle.
Tabbruis never, but once, left Charmeine’s side.  He had not slept or ate since the battle.  He was wracked with guilt because Charmeine was right, the squad did fail.
Tabbruis was ashamed because he failed her as a Champion and Husband.  He should have believed in her.  He constantly ran through those words she said to him in the limo ride back to JFK before the battle in his head:
I admit to you, Tabbruis, no matter how hurt I am with you… I will always love you… and my family.  I love you all.  I will gladly sacrifice myself for you or our family.  Please Tabbruis, promise me whatever happens during the battle, you must live and go on for our family.
Charmeine was right to be scared.  However, in the face of all her doubts, she fought courageously, even though it was a lost cause.
Thomas told Tabbruis it might take a while before she recovered, but when her sleep lasted a week, he was afraid.  With each new week of sleep, Tabbruis was absolutely terrified Charmeine would never wake up.   He was only hanging on by a thread from culpability and fear.
The only time Tabbruis left her, is when he went to attend the small service which was held for Sandra, and her body was burned on a funeral pyre.
Shane was not there.
Before the service, Tabbruis went to his room and knocked.
Shane yelled, “Go away!”
“Son, talk to me, please?” he asked.
Shane opened the door and said, “I’m not going Dad.  I can’t say goodbye to her because if I do my life is over.”
Tabbruis lowered his head and wrapped his hands in fists knowing the pain his son was in.  He admitted, “I would be saying the same thing too Shane if your mother’s funeral was today.”
Shane said, “Yeah.  Dmitri, Neal and Thomas have been helping me.  They know how I feel.”  As if he was in a daze, Shane muttered, “Dad, I’m sorry but you just have to let me go numb…  In Iraq, if a squad member was killed, we couldn’t think about it because we were on the next insurgence, patrol or sentry duty.  We didn’t have time to think… there… in Iraq.  But here… there is nothing to do but think.  Nothing but Sandra’s clothes surrounding me.  Her things are lying around the room and Sandra’s vanilla perfume is in the air.”
Tabbruis said, “I can get you another room.”
Shane looked at him with a scowl and yelled, “I do not want another room!  Sandra’s here!  I can’t leave it!  I can’t leave her!”
Tabbruis’ heart was breaking for his son, he gently said, “I understand.  But would you, for Sandra, go…”
Shane gave him a deadly stare.
Tabbruis held up his hands and said, “Okay Son, message received.”
Tabbruis hung his head, took a deep breath and then looked at Shane.  He asked, “Will do something for your Mother?”
With a worried look, Shane questioned, “Yes, sure.  Is she okay?”
Tabbruis said, “Her condition has not changed but I talk to her and read to her.  Thomas said it would be good to do those things.  Would you come and see her every day and do the same?  Your mother loves you so much, and I think it would be good for her to hear your voice.”
Shane hung his head and said with a hurt voice, “Dad, I will try but I don’t know if I can.”
Tabbruis nodded and said with a soft voice, “I understand, but if you need me for anything, come to our room and we will talk.  I never leave her side.”
Shane then looked at his father intently and asked, “Dad, you don’t look so good, are you okay?”
Tabbruis answered, “I am fine.  I have not been able to eat or sleep since that night.”
Shane said, “Yeah, I don’t eat or sleep much either.  Thank you Dad but there isn’t much to say.  I just don’t want to feel it again.  Each time you or anyone else brings it up; it makes me experience it all over again.”
Tabbruis hugged him tightly and said, “I love you Son,” and kissed him on the forehead and said, “That was from your mother, she misses you.”
Tabbruis closed the door and thought Shane was very strong, if it was Charmeine on the funeral pyre, he would be out of his mind in grief not able to function or able to take another breath.  However, Tabbruis thought Shane had part of Charmeine in him, and she was strong.  Shane’s inner strength flowed from his mother.
Tabbruis hoped Shane would come and visit Charmeine, making him think of anything other than losing his love, Sandra.
*****
Tabbruis was walking to their Master Suite to check on Charmeine.
Suddenly, like an instant shock with the wind taken out of him, Tabbruis realized he was never the strong one!  He bamboozled himself into thinking he was the strength in their relationship but he was not, it was her!
Charmeine had the power of trust, honesty, and belief in the supremacy of God’s strength.  She was Tabbruis’ rock and foundation.  He was just fooling himself that he was the Protector of Charmeine…
Tabbruis stood shaking; he immediately sat down on the stair.
He realized from the beginning, Charmeine saved him!  His wife saved him!
Charmeine saved him from the Blood-Hunter the first time he met her by throwing her lightning and knocking out the attacker.  She saved his life when the Blood-Hunter came back to the beach and Tabbruis was close to death.  Charmeine also sacrificed and saved him with her blood to keep him alive.  Now, he realized… her son… their son, saved Charmeine on the tarmac at JFK with his love for his mother.
Charmeine was the one who was truly exceptional, tough and imperial.

This work has been released into the public domain by its author, Chameleon at the English Wikipedia project

Tabbruis always was the uncertain one about their future.  He was the one who was plagued with doubts.  He hung his head and said, “Please God, I cannot live without Charmeine.”
All along in their relationship, Tabbruis thought he was the hero.
In reality, he was just a character in her life… his wife, his love, his fire, his strength was her!
Charmeine was the hero!

Charmeine slowly opened her eyes.
She turned her head and saw Tabbruis standing at the patio doors facing the sun with his head down, feet spread apart and arms crossed on his chest.
His beautiful multi-colored chestnut hair was blowing in the wind.  He looked like a three-dimensional Greek God come to life, and she warmed with contentment.
She said softly still thinking she was dreaming, “Tabbruis, you are so magnificent, I can’t believe you are real.”
Immediately, Tabbruis turned and stared into her eyes with so much love she thought her heart would burst.  He ran falling to his knees by the bed and leaned down whispering in her ear, “My love, my light, my wife, you have come back to me!  Thank you God!”
Finally waking up, Charmeine opened her eyes and reality sank in.  She asked, “Where?”
Tabbruis said immediately and calmly, “You are safe now.  We are safe.  We are in Romania now.”
She looked at Tabbruis and his green eyes were pale.  He had heavy black circles of unrest and hunger under his eyes.  His pallor was almost lifeless… a grayish hue, and a worry-line looked nearly permanent in-between his eyes.
She asked, “Oh Tabbruis are you okay?  Did you get hurt in the battle?  You look so haggard.  Oh my God, please tell me you are okay!”
Tabbruis twisted his lips and compressed them together in a straight line.  He gently said, “No Charmeine, I was not hurt.  Do not worry about me, how are you?”
“I could care less about me,” she answered.   “Is everyone okay, including you?” she asked with wide eyes.
“Please you must rest,” he replied.
“Help me sit up Tabbruis,” she said with a wince from the pain and stiffness in her bones.
“My love rest,” he said.
She said with a defiant tone, “Tabbruis help me or you know I will do it myself.”
He acquiesced and gently helped her up.  He put his hands on hers to sit her against the headboard.
Charmeine’s hands did not spark!  He noticed it, and looked at her hands!  His heart fell into Hell!
Tabbruis thought he was a fool to think she would ever forgive him after his failure at the Acropolis.  His lack of faith in her intuition and judgment.  He achingly thought, ‘I have lost her,’ and he hung his head in despair.
 “Do not lie, look me in the eye, and tell me if the family is okay,” she said.
Looking in her eye with his tired and strained gaze, Tabbruis said, “Sandra… our daughter, is dead…”
There was a deafening silence in the room.
Tabbruis lowered his head and sighed….
Charmeine could not believe it.  She finally squeaked out over choked tears, “No… no…” but her memory came back and saw Sandra’s head dangling in Pascal’s depraved hands.  Charmeine’s strangled voice asked, “Our son lost his love?  We… lost our daughter, Sandra?”
“Yes, he has and we have also,” he answered with tears in his eyes.
Tabbruis said with worry and apprehension, “Shane could not go to Sandra’s burial.  The last time our son cried was on the night of the attack.”
She said with open and wide eyes, “Tabbruis, I must talk to him.  He has to believe in his love.  We have to believe everything will be alright.”
Tabbruis’ face was questioning her and said, “Charmeine, I know you have a faith that can move mountains, but you cannot seriously tell him everything will be okay.  He just lost the love of his life.  He will never be the same again.  The hurt is too deep.”
“I know this sounds crazy.  But I have faith in God,” she said.
He hung his head shaking it.
“Tabbruis, I know you are a Blood-Hunter and we are opposites; however, have you learned nothing since you met me?  When will you have faith in God and in me?  What will it take Tabbruis?” she asked with irritation.  In frustration, she took a deep breath and rolled her eyes.
Tabbruis looked at her and reached up to hold her face.  Like a tidal wave, it hit him, she was right.  He said softly, “Charmeine…”
She just blinked, cut him off and asked, “Why did I expect you to finally…?”   She slowly took his hand away shaking her head.  She  looked in his eyes and said confidently, “I would like to see everyone, the whole family.  Please do not question me.  I have had a vision, and I need to tell the family.”
Tabbruis did not bat an eyelash and said, “I will return shortly.”

The best way to secure it is to give it.
Be at peace today!
I have loved this song and yes…
I admit I crushed on him when he first appeared on the music scene… no judgment please!
His songs still put an “Oh my…” in my throat!

Today I am re-blogging Laura Reynolds review of my first three books, "Charmeine," "Mactus" and "Accendo"! I am doing this because this review is just so comprehensive and really thorough. I have to admit, when I do reviews they are not this in depth!!! Really honored to pass this along as a great representation of my first three novels! Always humbled and thankful... Sincerely, Emily

“Accendo” snippet from the Third Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” plus author insight,”Paranormal? Really Emily?”

This file is in the public domain because it was solely created by NASA.

Sandra said, “The radiant point for the South Taurids is found in southern constellation of Taurus!”
Charmeine shouted, “Hot damn! I think you’ve got it!”
Sandra replied, “You bet your ass I got it!” and smiled with self-satisfaction.  Charmeine and Sandra bumped knuckles together.
Dmitri asked, “My Queen, may I have a word in edgewise?” and he frowned at Sandra.
Charmeine becoming more reserved answered, “Of course, you are my most trusted advisor Dmitri, outside of my husband.”

Dmitri said, “I am most honored,” and bowed, “I believe and most of us here who are experienced in battle, knows that the full moon will give us an advantage.  With the moon at the most radiant, the Blood-Hunters cannot hide as easily.”
Neal said, “The tactical advantage would be optimum.”
Thomas said, “The full moon is almost always attended by the entire Elder Council.”
Shane said, “I agree Char, they’re right.”
Sandra protested, “But this is very important.  We should at least listen to Mom!  She may be right!”
Charmeine looked to Tabbruis, thinking he would give her support.  However, Tabbruis said, “I believe the full moon would be our best advantage to attack.”
Then with determination Charmeine flung her shoulders back and stood tall.  As if she was reinforcing her will, she took a deep breath said in command voice, “I do not know the reason why this date and this astronomical event are important, but it is.  I trust you with my life.  I have accepted each of you as my family.  I will fight to my death to defeat the Elder Council.  How can you not have faith in what I feel or in what I say?  Do you not have confidence in your Queen?  Do I hold no credence with my family or even My Champion?”
Charmeine looked at Tabbruis for his faith.  She closed her eyes hoping Tabbruis would believe her, and reassure her.
Conversely, Charmeine heard Tabbruis say in a dismissive tone, “Darling, it is not that we do not have confidence in you, but we believe that the full moon on the 31st is our best option.”
Charmeine sternly asked, “How can you not trust me, My Champion?”

This work is in the public domain in the United States, and those countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 100 years or less.

She walked at a very fast pace to the terrace.  Before leaving the Dmitri’s study, Charmeine turned and yelled to the squad, “I believe in each of you!  How can you not believe in me?”
Charmeine went out on the terrace.
Instantly, Tabbruis stood in front of her.  He started to talk but she cut him off shouting, “You!  You especially!  Do not ever call me “darling” when I am with the squad.  I want respect!”
Tabbruis said, “You have my respect but in this case, we are the more experienced fighters.  Do not get upset…”  He stopped talking because he noticed her hands beginning to light with a current.
Everyone was gathering on the terrace.
Charmeine said in a strong booming voice, “The Elder Council will not fall on August 31st, but our family will!  I know it.  I know it in my heart and in my head.  However, I will fight with my family to my death even though I know it is wrong!  It is very wrong!”
Tabbruis said in a soothing manner, “Charmeine everything is going to be fine.  We have a great plan for the battle.  We have talked it all the way through.  Darling, trust me everything will be fine.”
With a steel determination laced with disgust, Charmeine yelled, “Trust you?  Trust you?  Tabbruis I am incensed you do not trust my instincts.  What kind of love and belief do you have in me?  As long I play your game, everything will be fine?  And you call yourself, My Champion?  How dare you say you are My Champion?  My Champion would believe in me!”
Tabbruis getting angry, embarrassed and frustrated said harshly, “Charmeine you should trust MY judgment!  I am the experienced fighter.  Everyone in this squad has fought tactical battles except you Charmeine!  If I had my way Charmeine, you would not be there!  However, I am allowing you to come along even though I know I will be worrying about you, instead of the squad!”
Charmeine was more than furious; she was disappointed, saddened and disheartened.  It was clear Tabbruis really did not believe in her abilities to help win the battle.  Most of all, he did not believe in her ability to lead!
Charmeine felt like Tabbruis threw a dagger at her; the dagger implanted in her was toxic and deep.  She began to harden her heart towards him.
She thought, ‘The worst thing has happened to me; I have fallen in love with a man who does not believe in me!’
Charmeine was determined if she was ever going to be truly happy, Tabbruis had to believe in her.  However, she could tell from his green eyes encircled in black, he did not.  Tabbruis’ lack of faith in her was debilitating Charmeine.  She felt like the wound in her heart Tabbruis had inflicted was poisoning her love.  She had to leave before all the pieces of their love were burnt into ashes.  Charmeine felt her soul becoming black with despair and fear.  Her heart worked harder to pump the venom of doubt he released upon her.
Tabbruis sensed his heart was beginning to slow.  He grabbed his chest and yelled with a look of fear on his face, “Charmeine?  What is happening?  Our hearts… Our hearts are…”
The wind started to pick up and whip around her and she said with a malicious tone, “After the battle and the Elder Council is dead, my alleged Champion and husband… I will go away… alone!”
A bolt of lightning crashed down with deafening thunder and wind.
Tabbruis could see Charmeine’s ring fall as in slow motion in front of him.  As he reached out to catch the ring, Charmeine’s body was not there.
Tabbruis felt his heart barely beating, struggling to pump!
Charmeine was gone and her love was gone with her!

I am asked all the time…”Paranormal? Really Emily?”
Putting the issue of paranormal aside, I had this story of  people who were very ill-fated.  People who were just so totally different that it was a struggle for them to be with each other.  Their natural instincts were to be repellent of each other.  However, they were like two magnets which repel each other so much that when they reach the axis of their poles…. it is like a white heat explosion when they collide.
Now, let’s add the paranormal, my favorite creatures are vampires and what could be so different than an angel?  However, I never use the word vampire in ANY of my novels.  There is vampire lore to be true to when you write about them.  I didn’t want to be tethered; I wanted a fresh clean slate to write upon. “The Light-Bearer Series” story is about blood-hunters which are different but not totally dissimilar from vampire aggregations and connotations.
The inspiration to write more and more is in my head like a vengeance just waiting for me to get enough time to get it all out!  It is extremely inconvenient to be at the grocery store or dry-cleaner and have these abundant stories whirling around in my head.  You have no idea how freeing it is to get them down on my laptop.  I NEVER have writer’s block. I just have no time to get everything out that is gnawing and scratching to come out.

ENJOY THIS SONG…. ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITES!

“Mirror Bound” Blog Tour Featuring Author Leanne Herrera

My Review of “Mirror Bound”
I truly love bewitching stories and this one did not disappoint.  Leanne’s book “Mirror Bound” is touching and funny at times.
Anna, the heroine finds love in the absence of parental love from her deceased Grandmother, Sister and others who are truly lifesaving in many ways.
English: ISIS In the Kunsthistorisches Museum

Her Grandmother and Sister have left their powers to her making her powerful.  However, evil always finds the good and the evil is coming for Anna and the coven.
What’s interesting is the Mother Goddess featured in the book.  Very cool and unique take with the cupcakes and the natural forces she gains in power.   I love originality and that was unique as all get out!
Anna also has a wonderful romance during all the preparations for the big show down and it is nice to see her connect on a different level.  If you love bewitching stories and relish a girl-power book, “Mirror Bound” would be a great choice.
Just to be on the safe side, I will say this book is a slightly an adult read.
I have to give the Author Leanne Herrera FIVE STARS for her wonderful book, “Mirror Bound”

LET ME TELL YOU A STORY BY LEANNE HERRERA
Let me tell you a story.
This is how I write. This is how I have always written. This is how I will always write. Not because any other way is incorrect, but because this is what works best for me.
I power write. I start the story on the page, and let it flow until I am too tired to write, or I run out of words to say. (Those that know me know that this is near impossible.) I do absolutely no research.
I can remember sitting in front of one such story teller and was amazed by the story he told. It was not about his era, which was far from modern, or about something he experienced. It was simply, a story, a notion from his head, something he made up on the fly.
The ideas that come to me are often, something I cannot get out of my head until I put it on paper. So that is exactly what I have always done. I thought it, and then wrote it down.
I have tried several other ways, I have tried breaking apart a story and defining characters, main ideas, objectives, conflicts, the climax and the ending. Once I was finished, I felt I was prepared to finally sit down like a grown up author and write a story.
Then I realized I could no longer write the story. I no longer had a story to tell. Why, you may ask? I had already written it. I had written it in pieces. A part was for characters and all the other sections, formally excusing the story from my head and therefore losing all of it.
I effectively lost interest and the actual story was never written. While this method works for other authors, it is simply not what I am capable of, it was then I realized I am like the old man that sits on his porch, amusing the children. I am a story teller, so let me tell you a story.

“Alone” snippet from “ACCENDO” the Second Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a featured picture on Wikimedia Commons (Featured pictures) and is considered one of the finest images.
Tabbruis’ eyes became wide and sternly said, “Charmeine, LISTEN!  Heed what I say!  The portal may separate us on Earth by space and time but whatever happens, know I will find you!  Do not be afraid!”
Tabbruis secured Shane in his arms and they ran.  As they were running to the portal, wind was whipping all around like a tornado.
Fallen Angels were running to the portal also pushing and shoving them.
Then a man grabbed Charmeine.
Tabbruis looked behind him and screamed, “No!  My God, Charmeine!  Leave her alone!”
The man was healing his flesh and burns from the Lake of Fire and Torment like Tabbruis did.  Tabbruis quickly ripped her away from his arms and asked, “Are you okay Charmeine?”
She was nauseated from the man’s touch but Charmeine said, “Yes, I think so Tabbruis.”
Tabbruis handed their son to Charmeine.  He leapt to defend Charmeine, and the man raised a finger to Tabbruis.  The man said to him, “Temper, temper.”  The man smiled like the Devil at Charmeine.
The man said to her with a sing-song voice of lurid sexuality, “My name is Pascal, and I look forward to seeing you again Charmeine.”  Then he ran into the portal.
Filled with anger Tabbruis lunged for the man, Pascal.  Tabbruis and Pascal were lost in the portal.
Charmeine’s eyes became wide and she screamed, “Tabbruis!  Tabbruis!  Don’t go!  Oh God, help me!  What do I do?  Tabbruis!  Shane and I need you, Tabbruis!”
Fallen angels were pushing her around.  She was struggling with the wind until she felt Shane being ripped out of her arms into the portal.  Charmeine instinctively grabbed for her baby going into the portal.  She had her fingers on him trying to get a better grip but she could not get a good hold.  She cried out, “Oh God! Shane, my Son!  Help me Lord God!”
Still in her dream and looking down, the Angel Charmeine awoke on the beach in Patchogue, Long Island, New York shaken and confused.
The Angel Charmeine did not have Tabbruis or Shane, but she did not know about them either.
The only thing she knew was the first part of her name, ‘Char’ and nothing else.
Everything, all her past had been erased.  She was scared and confused.
The Angel Charmeine was now Charmeine as she now remembered walking aimlessly through the streets completely and horribly alone!
