“Guardian” from the “ACCENDO” the Third Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series”

In a mist and on a cloud Charmeine was floating. Her heart was happy and peaceful. She had awoken and was looking down on what seemed to be like a dreamy movie of Tabbruis, herself, and their baby, Shane. Tabbruis took the baby and kissed him gently while Charmeine busied herself with getting ready. Tabbruis looked stunning in a breastplate of gold armor and a sword at his side.
They walked to a big market square where everyone was murmuring and milling around. Then the sky broke open and a perfect white light settled over them, a voice came from the front of the square.
An Archangel clad in stunning gold armor stood on a platform in front of the crowd. He said, “I, Gabriel, will read the Prophecy. All true Angels of God will rejoice.” He took out a scroll and read, “There are many Angels who are rebellious and doubt the word of God.” Everyone started the murmur loudly. Gabriel began to read from a scroll:
Listen, oh Angels of Heaven.
Those who are disobedient will be cast from Heaven into the Lake of Fire and Torment.
Their place will become devoid of God and God’s mercy!
The Earth will be abused by those from Hell while they walk the Earth.
To show how omnipotent and loving God is, God will send his only begotten Son, a Lamb, to be slaughtered for all in Heaven and in Hell.
The Lamb’s followers shall be only of the Meek, the Honest, and the Self-Sacrificing.
The Lamb will send his weakest Angel to bring peace to a troubled world before the Apocalypse.
They will call her, The Queen of Light and her Champion will be the King of Darkness.
They will bring order and continue the fight against those defiant and seditious of God’s word and battle to rid the Earth of Lucifer’s minions.
Their family will rule with justice, harmony and determination of spirit.

Suddenly, Charmeine’s movie became fuzzy and with no sound.She was now looking over a scene of Angels running around.
Fire was raining down all around the Angel Charmeine while she was carrying her baby, Shane. She was running up and down the great Gate of Heaven which looked like a lattice with spikes at the bottom. The Angel Charmeine was screaming something, but Charmeine could not hear anything.
Charmeine looked around and fire was burning buildings all around Heaven. Then out of desperation, the Angel Charmeine put the baby, Shane, down and ran to The Gatekeeper pleading. Charmeine’s heart leapt out of her throat because she was scared for Shane.
The Angel Charmeine was begging The Gatekeeper to do something but he was shaking his head no. The Gatekeeper was trying to roll down the big heavy Gate of Heaven.
As the Gate of Heaven was lowering, in desperation, she saw the Angel Charmeine throw herself under it.

Instantly, Charmeine felt a stab go all the through her body. Then Charmeine opened her eyes and she was the Angel now yelling in agony and pain! The Gate of Heaven had ripped her body almost in half.She felt Tabbruis’ hand in hers. Even though Charmeine was agony, she gripped Tabbruis’ hand tightly because he was falling. She yelled in desperation, “Hold on Tabbruis. Do not let go!”
However, Tabbruis was being pulled down into the darkness.
Charmeine’s body was wracked in great pain. She willed herself to keep holding Tabbruis’ hand. Charmeine had to save him.
In desperation, Tabbruis shouted, “Semper tuus ero, Charmeine!”
“Semper tua ero, Tabbruis!” Charmeine cried out.
Charmeine pleaded and shouted, “Oh God, he is not here! Open the Gate of Heaven for him! Tabbruis, husband, is not here!”
With that, Tabbruis’ hand was finally dragged from Charmeine’s hand.

Horrified, she screamed, “Tabbruis! Tabbruis! Tabbruis! My God, help him! Tabbruis!”
Charmeine started to feel the life go out of her body. She ran her hand down the spike which impaled her body.
She reached for Shane, and he was by her leg crying.
Charmeine felt helpless to protect her family and with a final scream of agony, she closed her eyes.

Helpless!
We all have felt it.
I hate feeling helpless…
I have to remember I have Angels guarding me and helping me even when I don’t realize it!
That is the reason I love this song so much, “Guardian” by Alanis Morrissette I know I have featured it before, but I envision this being Charmeine’s theme song… ENJOY!

From almost everyone I talk to down to my family has asked, “Emily, how in the world did you come up with a name like “Mactus” for your novel?” TOO FUNNY…. how did I pick the name “MACTUS” for the Second Book of “The Light-Bearer Series”?
It seems like a very weird and almost made up name…. nothing mainstream of course like ‘Pride and Prejudice’ or ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’… you could sort of understand what happens in the book from title… a little bit.
Well, being that I am a person who has never been mainstream and kind of on the odd side… my strict Catholic upbringing is part of my life and what has shaped me. I am not a ‘card-carrying’ Catholic, but my life as a child did influence me and my thought processes. For example, I got to know just a little Latin… not much mind you… but enough.
“MACTUS”~means well-done in Latin! It is a term used to say, you did good job or great work of progress! I got to thinking and Tabbruis and Charmeine in this part of the series come together and decide to love each other even though it is forbidden. They also decide to fight the evilness of the world… together! That is what makes this novel so wonderful… they find the courage to live and live together no matter what prejudice or evil want to prevent them from doing so!
I hope you do enjoy “MACTUS” and relish the wonderful love, action, and intrigue these two characters from Heaven and Hell present!

As Charmeine appeared in Tabbruis’ dream he saw her being carried away in darkness. She was being tortured and beaten on the ‘Altar of Judgment’ lying there helpless and defenseless. The Elder came over and leaned down to bite into Charmeine…
Tabbruis tossed his head back and forth and roused himself out of sleep. He got up and ran to the Master Bath and Charmeine was gone. He looked around and saw her old clothes were on the bathroom floor with a used bath towel, but her shoes were gone. Tabbruis’ throat tightened, and he became very alarmed.
Quickly Tabbruis ran out the bedroom door and down the hallway. He opened the door to the wing and went out on the main stairway entrance landing. Tabbruis reached out with his senses and could feel Charmeine’s heart beating which made him instantly feel better. He heard very soft music coming from the Grand Hall downstairs.
As he started down the steps, he heard Dmitri whispering, “Charmeine is in the Grand Hall playing the piano.”
Tabbruis turned his head and saw his friend and brother standing by his door to his wing of the castle. Quickly, Tabbruis began to turn and head down the stairs.
Dmitri again whispered, “Charmeine will yield, my brother. I am sorry. She will not fight.”
Tabbruis’ heart began to break in a million pieces. His head was spinning, and he felt like he had been hit with a two ton truck. He turned and looked at Dmitri. With intent, he whispered, “Charmeine is strong. We will be a family as God intended us to be. She will fight for our family.”
Dmitri whispered, “Ah yes, your family is set as God planned it to be on the dreadful day of the battle in Heaven. However, Charmeine is a Light-Bearer; she is a light of God. This woman, Charmeine, is like the Son in the way she will sacrifice herself for those she loves. Tabbruis look into your heart, do you believe she will let any of you, her family, suffer for her?”
Tabbruis hung his head and asked with despair, “Dear God, how could you do this again to my family? How could you rip Charmeine away from me and our son, Shane?” He could hear the music coming up from the Grand Hall so sweet and beautiful. He began to tear quietly. Thoughts of Charmeine’s face raced in his memory. He could not lose her, not again. To keep his feet steady, he sat on the stair with his head in his hands. He said in a whisper, “I have seen it Dmitri. I know what you say is true. I cannot bear to think of the Earth with her not on it. I would rather go to Hell than be here without her.”
Dmitri came over to Tabbruis and put his hand on his shoulder. He whispered, “There is a solution to all of this Tabbruis. You know it in your own heart as well. Your family has something which is a great armor against its enemies, and it will bind you… it is love. If you have complete belief, nothing can tear or rip your family apart. All this requires is love.”
Tabbruis asked, “Dmitri, how can I convince her to stay?”
Dmitri whispered, “If Charmeine had something to fight for and someone to fight with… she will stay. However, if you shield her and do not give her power in knowledge and strength, she will yield to the Elder Council. My advice, my good and faithful brother, is to fight for her, fight beside her, and never try to shield her. Remember what I tell you. Heed what I say now above all else Tabbruis: Love her and believe in her. Charmeine is much stronger than anyone on the Earth can ever imagine.”
With that, Dmitri slipped back into his own wing of the castle.
As Tabbruis sat on the stairs, he put his head in hands full of anxiousness and worry. He wanted to yell and scream at Charmeine and chastise her for even thinking about sacrificing herself. Tabbruis was angry with the Elder Council, with God for separating his family again, and now he was angry with Charmeine for leaving him alone. Tabbruis gave her his heart and she was taking it with her. As he was walking down the stairs to Charmeine, he tried to believe there was a way out of the tunnel, just like Dmitri said.
Tabbruis sat himself down next to the door and was listening to his Charmeine play so sweet and adeptly. He never knew she was such a capable musician. Tabbruis thought again to himself, ‘Love… my family has love… we shall sit down and devise a plan. But tonight, I would like to see my Charmeine play.’
Tabbruis got up and quietly opened the door of the Grand Hall. He poked his head around the door, as to not disturb her. To see Charmeine play made his heart jump for joy. Charmeine was playing ever so lightly a Chopin Nocturne. He thought, ‘Which Nocturne is that?’ Then he began to finally recognize, Chopin’s Nocturne No. 2 in E flat.
Charmeine’s hands touched the keys gently. The music was coming forth tenderly. As she came to the end and the last note rang, she kept her fingers on the keys and let the instrument resonate until the vibrations died. Tabbruis said in a whisper, “Charmeine I love you.”
Charmeine was not startled like he thought she would be. She hung her head and was deep in thought. While her head was down, she answered, “I will love you always until the day I die, Tabbruis.”
Tabbruis stood her up and began to tenderly hug her. He then held her back and put one hand on her cheek ever so softly looking into her eyes. He closed his eyes and thought, ‘God, how can I convince her not to sacrifice herself for us, but to fight?’
Tabbruis began to kiss her gently and Charmeine opened her lips. He began to run his tongue over her lips and parted them touching her tongue gently. Charmeine began to moan and began to hold him close to her.
Tabbruis was so sad and heartbroken that he started to kiss her more passionately this time and held on to her in a tight embrace. He began to move his hands up and down her back and she moaned in delight.
It struck Tabbruis that Charmeine wanted to leave. He stopped kissing her suddenly and shouted, “No!” He turned pacing toward the window breathing heavily.
Charmeine was confused and asked, “Tabbruis? What’s wrong?”

Before we get to the snippet, I wanted to tell my friends about why I chose the paranormal genre to write in and especially… “The Light-Bearer Series.”
I love romance and yes, I could have written a romance novel or novels. They would have been lovely to write.
However, what gets my blood pumping is not only romance, but mystery, intrigue and terror from the supernatural! Forces that we have no control over or forces that twist our fate.
In “Mactus,” Tabbruis and Charmeine are so in love but their love is threatened by those supernatural forces that they have no control over.
The Elder Council, (the Blood-Hunter’s ruling body) are sort of ‘Mystic Bullies’ who mark this couple for death because one race cannot stand the other race. ”Light cannot have dark and dark cannot have light.” Both races rage this war because of prejudice.
So, I just thought a little insight might make you possibly want to download and read this wonderful continuation of “The Light-Bearer Series.” I hope you enjoy and onto the Snippet!

Shane shook his head while taking huge bites and swallowing the food down. He said, “Nope, not with that voodoo stare Dad has. He can convince anyone to do anything. Sort of like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Mos Eisley, when he stares down the Imperial Storm troopers to let them pass, you know? I would love to have that trick up my sleeve.” Shane mock stared at her grinning wide while he was gulping the last of his food down.
Among other things, Charmeine wondered why Shane had not inherited any of their powers. However, she thought it was better he was a normal human. This was his world since he was a child. Charmeine’s mind was flinging question after question one right after another as she was eating her cold toast and drinking her lukewarm coffee.
Tabbruis came into the room rubbing his hands together and smiling. He had already showered, shaved and changed. Charmeine thought how could ever think he was human; he was dressed in black jeans and boots with a tight fitted black T-shirt over his muscles. His green eyes were bright and his hair was combed back with his bangs of dark chestnut hair on his forehead. He also smelled terrific and she warmed when she caught his scent in her nose.
Tabbruis said, “Listen you two; I have a lot of things to say and I need no arguments from you…” He scanned their eyes for confirmation.
Charmeine nodded and Shane said, “Okay… shoot.”
Tabbruis took a breath and said, “I have wealth. I have a place where we can go and be secure. I know the terrain there and have security put into place for our transport and transition there. First, Charmeine…” he bent down and picked up her hand while it was sparking. He said, “My love, my Charmeine. I love you!”
Charmeine looked into his deep green eyes and saw he was telling the truth. She sighed.

Tabbruis pulled a dining room chair out and sat down. With a serious look, he said, “Now, I am having both of your apartments cleaned out and your belongings are being shipped with us. All of our cars are coming too. We leave on my jet in 90 minutes. If you do not have your passports, do not worry I have connections that will get yours done and waiting at the airport for us. I need you two to get your showers and change into comfortable clothes for travel. It will take us several hours to arrive there.”
Tabbruis held up hands and said, “I do not want any arguments, it is being done so our family can be safe. Nothing and I mean nothing is more important than our family being safe. Do you both understand? No arguments!”
Shane and Charmeine began to speak, but he looked at them in their eyes and said, “It is for the best we do this to protect our family. I need you dressed and ready to go to the heliport in about twenty-five minutes. Do not worry about packing what you have at the hotel either, everything is being shipped, and we will have it shortly after our arrival.”
Charmeine took a deep breath, no use arguing with her ‘husband’ when he used the ‘voodoo stare’ as her son called it, even though she knew it never worked on her. She said, “May I ask one question?”
He nodded reticently, “Where are we going Tabbruis?”
Tabbruis looked her and Shane in the eye with a big smile. Charmeine looked at Shane with a bit of anxiousness in her stomach.
Tabbruis said with a sparkle in his eye, “Romania!”

Before we get to the snippet, I wanted to tell my friends about why I chose the paranormal genre to write in and especially… “The Light-Bearer Series.”
I love romance and yes, I could have written a romance novel or novels. They would have been lovely to write.
However, what gets my blood pumping is not only romance, but mystery, intrigue and terror from the supernatural! Forces that we have no control over or forces that twist our fate.
In “Mactus,” Tabbruis and Charmeine are so in love but their love is threatened by those supernatural forces that they have no control over.
The Elder Council, (the Blood-Hunter’s ruling body) are sort of ‘Mystic Bullies’ who mark this couple for death because one race cannot stand the other race. ”Light cannot have dark and dark cannot have light.” Both races rage this war because of prejudice.
So, I just thought a little insight might make you possibly want to download and read this wonderful continuation of “The Light-Bearer Series.” I hope you enjoy and onto the Snippet!

Shane shook his head while taking huge bites and swallowing the food down. He said, “Nope, not with that voodoo stare Dad has. He can convince anyone to do anything. Sort of like Obi-Wan Kenobi in Mos Eisley, when he stares down the Imperial Storm troopers to let them pass, you know? I would love to have that trick up my sleeve.” Shane mock stared at her grinning wide while he was gulping the last of his food down.
Among other things, Charmeine wondered why Shane had not inherited any of their powers. However, she thought it was better he was a normal human. This was his world since he was a child. Charmeine’s mind was flinging question after question one right after another as she was eating her cold toast and drinking her lukewarm coffee.
Tabbruis came into the room rubbing his hands together and smiling. He had already showered, shaved and changed. Charmeine thought how could ever think he was human; he was dressed in black jeans and boots with a tight fitted black T-shirt over his muscles. His green eyes were bright and his hair was combed back with his bangs of dark chestnut hair on his forehead. He also smelled terrific and she warmed when she caught his scent in her nose.
Tabbruis said, “Listen you two; I have a lot of things to say and I need no arguments from you…” He scanned their eyes for confirmation.
Charmeine nodded and Shane said, “Okay… shoot.”
Tabbruis took a breath and said, “I have wealth. I have a place where we can go and be secure. I know the terrain there and have security put into place for our transport and transition there. First, Charmeine…” he bent down and picked up her hand while it was sparking. He said, “My love, my Charmeine. I love you!”
Charmeine looked into his deep green eyes and saw he was telling the truth. She sighed.

Neal began, “I have been in a great many battles. Blood-Hunters know we are very fast, very strong and heal quickly. Most of the Blood-Hunters have a keen sense of smell and can track almost anything. However, we do have vulnerabilities some are obvious such as the fact Blood-Hunters need to bite and hit to inflict harm to their enemies or prey.
We, Blood-Hunters cannot inflict harm from far away or telepathically.”
Then Neal looked at Dmitri and nodded his head, “Go on Neal, it is time.”
Neal continued, “In our battles, Dmitri and I have come to find a weakness which can be inflicted on a Blood-Hunter. It will incapacitate them and weaken them enough you can cut them and make them bleed out.”
Everyone took an audible gasp. Dmitri walked to the middle of the group and said, “This weapon is why the Elder Council has a price on my head. This is why my castle is fortress. This is why our mission to destroy the Elder Council is so important.”
Dmitri became solemn, “Along with the Light-Bearers, this weapon will wipe Blood-Hunters off the face of the Earth and decimate our kind. However, that is not our Goal!”
He said strongly, “We want the Blood-Hunters, Light-Bearers and humans to live in peace, together! The Earth is not ours, the Earth belongs to God, but the Elder Council believes it is theirs. It is their playground to do as they wish as long as their food…their blood… keeps flowing in humans. That is why they are so strict about amenity.”
Neal came to stand beside him and said, “Nevertheless, the weapon we have hasn’t been discovered until recently.”
Dmitri said with hope, “We anticipate using it just in time to save us all, the Light-Bearers and the humans!”
Shane being not able to hold his questions anymore asked, “What the Hell is it?”
Tabbruis also asked, “Please you can share with us?”
With that, Dmitri nodded his head to Neal. Neal said, “Everyone back up a bit.”
Dmitri led them into a line and said, “My comrade, it is time.”
Neal bent down and lifted a plate on the ground. He imputed a numerical code, and then a bar shot up from the ground like an up-side down periscope.
Sandra and Shane both being the military soldiers said, “Cool!”
Then Neal said into a microphone, “Neal Alpha Two.”
The speaker said, “Confirm with retinal scan.”
Neal bent and then a blue light ran over Neal’s eye.
The speaker said, “Confirmed.”
The ground opened up and a case came up from the ground. The case was glass with a row of long swords.
Neal went over to the case and said, “Ebola virus first emerged in 1976 in outbreaks in Zaire and Sudan on the African continent. The virus is believed to be transmitted to humans via contact with infected animals. Due to the high fatality rate, the rapidity of demise, it is deadly to humans and to Blood-Hunters… it can incapacitate a Blood-Hunter long enough for a fatal strike to bleed them out.”
Dmitri stood by the case of swords and punched in a numerical code.
A speaker said, “Confirm with voice code.”
Dmitri said into a speaker, “Dmitri Alpha One.” A glass case which enclosed the swords had a vacuum seal and hissed when it opened up. He said, “Because of the vulnerability to all of us, we have kept the case safely tucked away.”
Dmitri took out a sword and it was beautiful. It had a basket grip with intricate design which looked to be gold. The blade was silver thin and sharp edges but the middle had a huge channel and a blue glowing point. Dmitri explained as he went in front of the group, “You see this sword was specially made. It can be used like a regular sword which is not very effective against a Blood-Hunter since we heal so rapidly.”
Then Tabbruis looked at Dmitri and asked with fear in his eyes, “But the middle?”
Dmitri and Neal nodded. Dmitri replied, “Yes, my friend. In the middle of the sword is a long vile full of the virus, and it is released by a trigger in the basket handle.” Dmitri showed it to the group.
Shane and Sandra were amazed and said, “That is so cool!”
Tabbruis looked at them both and asked strongly, “Cool? That weapon can destroy us all!”
Dmitri said, “Yes, it could if we intended to do that, but all we want to do is remove the Elder Council and bring balance and harmony to our kind.”

Charmeine was opening her door to help and as a flash, the Blood-Hunter who attacked her appeared. He grabbed Charmeine but she surprised him with a rising knee strike aimed at his chest throwing him back. Charmeine’s hands lit up with white electricity and she yelled, “Touch me one more time, and you are dead!” She swung her foot in a swiping kick to his jaw which made him turn like a top.
At the worst time possible, Shane got out of the limo. The Blood-Hunter ran and put him in a choke hold.
Neal and Tabbruis were still fighting the other two Blood-Hunters.
When Tabbruis saw Shane in the Blood-Hunter’s grasp, he screamed, “NO!” Charmeine thought the only thing she could do was to get help. So she turned and threw a shock to the Blood-Hunter battling Tabbruis. Tabbruis bit jugular of the Blood-Hunter and blood was spewing out of him at a rate so fast they knew he would be dead in a minute.
Seeing this, the Blood-Hunter holding Shane became angry. He twisted Shane’s head back exposing his jugular.
Tabbruis came and jumped high into the air landing a foot in the face of the Blood-Hunter. The Blood-Hunter let Shane go reeling from the kick. Tabbruis yelled, “Now Charmeine!”
Charmeine threw a shock and the Blood-Hunter avoided it by jumping up out of the way. However she threw another lightning shock and this time it impacted him. Her white lightning sent him reeling.
Shane started to attack the Blood-Hunter.
Charmeine screamed, “Shane, get on the plane! Now! I said, now Sergeant Kelly!” Shane not wanting to leave the battle ran up the stair up to the jet looking out of the first window.
Neal, Tabbruis and Charmeine stood by the plane while the two Blood-Hunters laughed. The other Blood-Hunter got out a handgun and fired off two shots, one at Tabbruis and one at Neal. Both of them went down to avoid the shot, but by that time the other Blood-Hunter had Charmeine in his grasp with his teeth in her neck.
Shane ran straight for her but Neal held him back. He shouted, “We have to kill the other Blood-Hunter. You will be their next target! Get on the plane, now Shane!” Shane raced back up into the plane.
Tabbruis and rushed to save Charmeine. The other Blood-Hunter walked to his friend who still had his teeth in Charmeine’s neck. Still brandishing the gun, he smiled and said, “This was easier than I thought it would be Brother.”
All of a sudden a shot rang out and the Blood-Hunter with the gun fell straight back. He had been shot with a bullet between the eyes. His blood was pouring like a small fountain out of his head.
Neal and Tabbruis looked around and saw Shane behind them on the tarmac. Shane was holding a large .50 caliber handgun like a sharpshooter. Tabbruis smiled at Shane.
Tabbruis and Neal ran to the Blood-Hunter holding Charmeine. The Blood-Hunter lifted his mouth off of her neck, and said, “You come another step near me, and I’ll drink the last of her sweet blood.” Her hands were creating currents of electricity but because of her lack of blood, it wasn’t enough to repel the Blood-Hunter. He was smacking his lips with her sanguine liquid over his chin.
Charmeine was bleeding severely from the wounds on her neck. Tabbruis saw her jugular had been severed. She only had a matter of minutes left of life. The Blood-Hunter said, “I’m taking the plane and going to the Elder Council to get my reward for this thing. I need to recover my losses.”
Tabbruis was incensed! His eyes were wide and totally black with vengeance. Neal looked at him in the eye with a telepathic glimpse. Tabbruis, Neal and Shane backed away as to not provoke the Blood-Hunter.
The Blood-Hunter backed up slowly to the stairs of the jet saying, “Now, radio the pilot and tell him, if he doesn’t do exactly as I want, she will be dead in 5 seconds.” Neal took the walkie-talkie out of his pocket and made an order on it to stand down. The Blood-Hunter said, “I will keep her alive for the Elder Council.”
While the Blood-Hunter was laughing, he ran his hand over Charmeine’s chest and ripped her turtleneck. Her camisole was exposed, and he began to drop his hand down to her pants.
Suddenly an immense coil of wind started to swirl around the Blood-Hunter and he yelled, “What’s going on?”
Then in a blink of an eye, a bolt of lightning came down from the sky throwing the Blood-Hunter away from the plane and Charmeine. Tabbruis raced to Charmeine and caught her before she hit the ground.
Neal caught the Blood-Hunter. With a quick snap, Neal ripped off the Blood-Hunter’s head. Neal shouted with a mean sneer, “Recover that loss Blood-Hunter!”
Neal turned and looked at Charmeine and Tabbruis. Tabbruis was looking past him. Shane’s hands were extended and his long hair was flying with a wind around him. His eyes were transformed into bright orbs of sunlight. Then as quickly as the wind came, it was gone. Shane’s eyes transformed back into bright blue.
Tabbruis looked at Charmeine, he starting welling up with tears as he held her. He licked her neck desperately trying to close the jagged wounds left by the Blood-Hunter.
Neal said, “We have to get Charmeine on the plane and try to save her there. There might be others.” Tabbruis was not paying attention. He still was licking Charmeine’s neck to heal it and would not move. Neal yelled, “Tabbruis! Get her on the plane, now!”
Tabbruis picked her up and started to move up the ladder.
Neal used his walkie-talkie to get clearance for take-off.
Tabbruis shouted to Shane, “Son, we have to go! Get on the plane.” Shane ran up behind them and secured the door for take-off.
The jet was taxiing the tarmac and Tabbruis laid Charmeine on the couch. Charmeine said, “I love you Tabbruis. Take care of … our son.” Charmeine closed her eyes and quietly slumped in Tabbruis’ arms.
Tabbruis was desperately licking her wounds and muttered over and over, “My love, my love, please! Please wake up!” Charmeine did not move. In a moment of complete and utter futility, he made a guttural roar and his eyes turned red with tears.
Tabbruis looked up at Shane and said, “Son, I am trying. I am sorry.” Tabbruis began to rock Charmeine back and forth like a little child in his arms. His tears were dropping on her face and his anguish was palpable to all who witnessed.
Shane dropped to his knees and put his hand on Charmeine’s chest over her heart.
Shane said with a commanding voice, “Father, give me your arm.” Tabbruis followed his son’s instructions and extended his arm. With a shock, fangs came into Shane’s mouth and his gums began to bleed. He bit into his father’s wrist and his own wrist. Shane held their wrists together mingling their blood. He said, “Father, put this to her lips and tell her drink. Do not stop this no matter what I do.”
As if taking an order from God, Tabbruis put his wrist which had his and Shane’s blood in it up to Charmeine’s mouth. He bent down to her ear and said, “Drink my love. Charmeine….” While Tabbruis was talking, Shane began to shock her heart in regular intervals.
Shane roared, “Father! Try harder! It’s not working!”
Tabbruis felt everything around him go black. All sounds were gone except his heartbeat. Then his heart started to beat slower and slower.
Tabbruis knew the exact moment Charmeine’s heart stopped because his heart stopped beating too.
In futility, Tabbruis closed his eyes and said into her ear, “Semper tuus ero, Charmeine. I am forever yours.” With that, her tongue, stirred on his arm. Tabbruis nodded and cried, “Yes! My dear Charmeine; I need you. Our son, Shane, needs you. You have to take care of our family. I am nothing without you my love.”
Shane gave her another shock, and Charmeine slowly began to drink.
All Tabbruis could whisper into Charmeine’s ear was, “Semper tuus ero,” over and over again.
Shane shocked her again and she began to drink more and the pull on Tabbruis’ blood was stronger. The fact that she was responding warmed Tabbruis all the way down to the bottom of his soul. Tabbruis laughed with joy.
Shane put his ear to her chest. He heard a strong heartbeat and said, “She will be okay now.”
Through tears of joy, Tabbruis smiled and said, “Yes, I know! When her heart started beating again, my heart began to beat too.”
Shane sat back on his heels looking at her with love in his heart and said, “Father, feed her for a minute more. I’m going to wash up.” Tabbruis nodded at and looked at Charmeine’s face as it was becoming alive with color.
As the jet took off the ground flying high into the sky, Tabbruis’ heart was soaring also.
I was drinking coffee on the porch this morning and
noticed one leaf which started to fall down from the the tree.
The leaf was turning and twisting around like a ballerina doing pirouettes!
Right before it hit the forest floor another tree smaller than that caught the leaf in it’s branches!
We all fall, we are lifted up by our family and friends…

Charmeine was opening her door to help and as a flash, the Blood-Hunter who attacked her appeared. He grabbed Charmeine but she surprised him with a rising knee strike aimed at his chest throwing him back. Charmeine’s hands lit up with white electricity and she yelled, “Touch me one more time, and you are dead!” She swung her foot in a swiping kick to his jaw which made him turn like a top.At the worst time possible, Shane got out of the limo. The Blood-Hunter ran and put him in a choke hold.
Neal and Tabbruis were still fighting the other two Blood-Hunters.
When Tabbruis saw Shane in the Blood-Hunter’s grasp, he screamed, “NO!” Charmeine thought the only thing she could do was to get help. So she turned and threw a shock to the Blood-Hunter battling Tabbruis. Tabbruis bit jugular of the Blood-Hunter and blood was spewing out of him at a rate so fast they knew he would be dead in a minute.
Seeing this, the Blood-Hunter holding Shane became angry. He twisted Shane’s head back exposing his jugular.
Tabbruis came and jumped high into the air landing a foot in the face of the Blood-Hunter. The Blood-Hunter let Shane go reeling from the kick. Tabbruis yelled, “Now Charmeine!”
Charmeine threw a shock and the Blood-Hunter avoided it by jumping up out of the way. However she threw another lightning shock and this time it impacted him. Her white lightning sent him reeling.
Shane started to attack the Blood-Hunter.
Charmeine screamed, “Shane, get on the plane! Now! I said, now Sergeant Kelly!” Shane not wanting to leave the battle ran up the stair up to the jet looking out of the first window.
Neal, Tabbruis and Charmeine stood by the plane while the two Blood-Hunters laughed. The other Blood-Hunter got out a handgun and fired off two shots, one at Tabbruis and one at Neal. Both of them went down to avoid the shot, but by that time the other Blood-Hunter had Charmeine in his grasp with his teeth in her neck.
Shane ran straight for her but Neal held him back. He shouted, “We have to kill the other Blood-Hunter. You will be their next target! Get on the plane, now Shane!” Shane raced back up into the plane.
Tabbruis and rushed to save Charmeine. The other Blood-Hunter walked to his friend who still had his teeth in Charmeine’s neck. Still brandishing the gun, he smiled and said, “This was easier than I thought it would be Brother.”
All of a sudden a shot rang out and the Blood-Hunter with the gun fell straight back. He had been shot with a bullet between the eyes. His blood was pouring like a small fountain out of his head.
Neal and Tabbruis looked around and saw Shane behind them on the tarmac. Shane was holding a large .50 caliber handgun like a sharpshooter. Tabbruis smiled at Shane.
Tabbruis and Neal ran to the Blood-Hunter holding Charmeine. The Blood-Hunter lifted his mouth off of her neck, and said, “You come another step near me, and I’ll drink the last of her sweet blood.” Her hands were creating currents of electricity but because of her lack of blood, it wasn’t enough to repel the Blood-Hunter. He was smacking his lips with her sanguine liquid over his chin.
Charmeine was bleeding severely from the wounds on her neck. Tabbruis saw her jugular had been severed. She only had a matter of minutes left of life. The Blood-Hunter said, “I’m taking the plane and going to the Elder Council to get my reward for this thing. I need to recover my losses.”
Tabbruis was incensed! His eyes were wide and totally black with vengeance. Neal looked at him in the eye with a telepathic glimpse. Tabbruis, Neal and Shane backed away as to not provoke the Blood-Hunter.
The Blood-Hunter backed up slowly to the stairs of the jet saying, “Now, radio the pilot and tell him, if he doesn’t do exactly as I want, she will be dead in 5 seconds.” Neal took the walkie-talkie out of his pocket and made an order on it to stand down. The Blood-Hunter said, “I will keep her alive for the Elder Council.”
While the Blood-Hunter was laughing, he ran his hand over Charmeine’s chest and ripped her turtleneck. Her camisole was exposed, and he began to drop his hand down to her pants.
Suddenly an immense coil of wind started to swirl around the Blood-Hunter and he yelled, “What’s going on?”

Charmeine looked at Tabbruis. His eyes told her… ‘This is what will happen to us if we are not successful.’
Tabbruis’ eyes went closed because he knew what was coming next.
Thomas’ face went black and emotionless, “Before I was to be executed, my father, Pascal, had Laura dragged in before me made to lie on the ‘Altar of Judgment’ to be put to death before me.
“Dmitri, Neal and some of their friends…” and Thomas looked at Neal.
Neal nodded back at him with a face of loyalty and sympathy.
Thomas continued, “Dmitri, Neal and the others started a battle to save Laura and myself from execution.”
Charmeine took a big breath and said, “Courage.”
Charmeine and Tabbruis… Originally Angels…but total opposites on Earth
Tabbruis could not open his eyes; his mind was reeling thinking of Charmeine in that same place. His stomach turned nauseous and the world became black.
Thomas looked into Charmeine’s eyes and said, “Yes, Laura had courage. She fought along with me, Dmitri, Neal and the others. Laura was strong and she never hesitated to help.”
Neal said quietly, “Laura had a heart of lion. Elder Pascal will pay for his sins.”
Thomas started smiling big, “She fought harder than any of us.”
Then Thomas’ face went blank, “We were making our escape, and my Father swooped in and took Laura in his arms. I ran to save her, but my Father bit through her neck severing her spinal cord.”
Thomas began to cry in earnest and said, “Before her body could hit the ground, I caught her. She looked at me and said, ‘Forever my love’ and I kissed her lips.”
Thomas hung his head down.
Tabbruis’ heart was beating fast with fear. He turned his head and tears fell in channels out of eyes, Laura was his Charmeine. He winced because Thomas was just describing his worst nightmare and his constant fear…Charmeine being caught and executed by the Elder Council.
Weakly, Thomas said, “Dmitri grabbed us both and the resistance made their way to the exit. By the time we were away and safe; she said one word to me, ‘Live’ and died in my arms.
Laura was my light, my one and only love. I was lost until she found me. When we were together we were one. We knew God created us for each other. When she died, I died.”
Tabbruis could not bear the thought of living without Charmeine.
Thomas said in agony, “I go on and live because Laura said, ‘Live’ to me. I cannot deny her final request, but I feel like a corpse’s shell. I had my Laura, my dear, precious and courageous creature in my arms while her life slipped away. I cannot tell you how I go on living. Each day without her is like a day in Hell!”
Charmeine knelt on the ground and hugged Thomas. She rocked him back and forth while he cried for the love ripped away from him, for the love killed by his own Father, and for the futility his life is now.
Then all the family gathered around Charmeine and Thomas as she stood him up. Charmeine whispered in his ear, “Thomas you are not alone. Your family is here.”

Next Shane said while hugging him, “You will always be my Brother.”
Sandra hugged him and said, “My Brother.”
Neal came over and said, “You are my Brother, and I will protect you with my life.”
Thomas was overcome with emotion.

One of the saddest parts of “Mactus” I had to write.
The movie is in my head as I write and what I took from this was
we all have horror in our life…
However, it’s the love of our friends and family which help us survive!
This SONG is one of my favorites…
If we do nothing else today, let us all be thankful for our friends and family…

Turning around looking in their eyes, Charmeine asked “What in the Hell do you men think you are doing? If you think I’m going to watch my family go into the battle, while I stay home and make party favors, you don’t know me very damn well!”
Sandra came and crossed over to Charmeine, throwing her head up. She asked, “How do think I survived in Iraq all these years? Darning socks and baking cookies?”
Tabbruis answered sternly, “No, I forbid it Charmeine! You will not go to battle with us. We are experienced military men. We have seen many battles. I cannot worry about you and do my job effectively.”
Shane said to Sandra, “Babe this is no place for you, these people have superhuman powers and as good as you are as a human, there is no place for you there. Sorry babe, I gotta put my foot down.”
Charmeine took a hold of Sandra’s wrist. Charmeine asked incredulously, “Worry about me? How many times did I throw light giving you an advantage Tabbruis?”
Tabbruis said, “It does not matter, you are my wife now. Battling the Elder Council is much too dangerous for you.”
Disgusted and incensed Charmeine tried to control her emotions and said, “I may be a Light-Bearer and a woman, but there is no such power as a woman fighting for her family!”
Sandra said, “I fought like Hell in Iraq! I’m Special Ops; I have skills and abilities most men dream of. I can kill a man with my bare hands. I may be only 100 pounds, but I am 100 pounds of dynamite… gentlemen,” she said in a sarcastic tone.
She continued, “Don’t give Mom and I this chauvinistic bullshit. We are part of this squad, platoon, company…”
Charmeine said, “Fight with us or against us! It’s your choice!” At this Charmeine’s rage poured into her hands and her hands began to glow.
Shane and Tabbruis took a step toward Charmeine and Sandra, but Dmitri stopped them. For some reason the electricity did not hurt Sandra. Sandra was smiling.
Charmeine began to glow from her head to toes, and then a blue light started glowing in Sandra’s hands. Charmeine extended her hand and electricity flew past the men and hit the concrete fence pulverizing it. She let go of Sandra.
Sandra’s body began to glow with a blue hue. With a blue charge starting to crawl over her body, she blazed. Then like a blow torch coming out of her hands, Sandra shot a flame at a small tree off of the terrace; it instantly burned and went into ashes.
Shane’s eyes became huge and lunged to protect her.
Neal had to physically hold off Shane from going over to Sandra.
Charmeine’s feet came off the ground. Everyone gasped with astonishment. She flew over them going to one end of the terrace and back again about twenty feet above them all.
THE PROPHECY IS FILLED!
With her arms extended like a butterfly, she said in a big booming voice from Heaven, “I am God’s Holy Instrument, a Light-Bearer, sent to Earth to send Lucifer’s children to Hell. No shadows will ever block the Son!”
A crackle of thunder boomed, making all the men jump. Charmeine made thunder come down from the sky surrounding the terrace. Like an electrical jail.
Tabbruis could smell the electric current.
Charmeine started to float down slowly.
With a flash of lightning, Charmeine and Sandra became normal. They looked each other stunned.
The men all stood awed.
Charmeine and Sandra began to hug smiling.
All of the men looked at each other.
Dmitri’s eyes were wide with excitement and he beamed with a smile.
With great joy he shouted, “Thank God! The prophecy is fulfilled!”

Charmeine said while straightening herself out and gasping for air, “The Revolutionary, check!”
Tabbruis said breathlessly, “What?”
Charmeine smiled laughing and said, “I have a list.”
Tabbruis asked, “What kind of list?”
Charmeine answered, “It’s my top ten exciting things about you.”
Now Tabbruis started to laugh and raised his eyebrows, “Okay, I will bite, tell me.”
Charmeine said, “Bite? Really? Well, nope I won’t tell you! Homey don’t play that tune; Nah, Nah.”
Tabbruis asked, “Why did you tell me if you weren’t going to share?”
Charmeine replied in a fake conciliatory tone shaking her head, “Yeah, I know, that’s just wrong, ain’t it?” Then she started to walk away.
Playfully Tabbruis came and picked her up and brought her to the couch and said, “I know now one, ‘The Revolutionary’!”
She said, “Yep.”
Tabbruis asked, “If I guess the top ten things, will you tell me?”
Charmeine answered, “There’s a limit of guesses or we could be here all day… 10!”Tabbruis said, “That is not fair. But okay, I like a challenge… I like the ocean?”
She said, “Yep.”
Tabbruis kissed Charmeine’s neck and asked, “I know a lot about history?” which made her flesh go in bumps and blush.
Charmeine said, “Yes.”
Tabbruis kissed on her collarbone, “The Revolutionary.”
She said, “Yes.”
Tabbruis kissed and nibbled her shoulder and asked, “My green eyes?”
Gasping, Charmeine replied, “How did you know? Yes.”
Tabbruis slid his nose to the crook of her neck and whispered, “The pleasure it gives you when I lick your neck?”
Closing her eyes, Charmeine said breathlessly, “Umm hum…yes.”
Tabbruis licked her neck in a long drawn out stroke while she was moaning. He asked, “My body?”
Now almost in a pant, Charmeine answered, “Ah…yes.”
Tabbruis pressed up against her and growled, “My growling?”
Furrowing her brow, Charmeine said, “I know you’re cheating! Yes.”
Tabbruis smiled and chuckled sinisterly against her neck, “My hands making your hands spark, and not lighting up for anyone else but me?”
Dreamily, Charmeine said, “Ah…Yes, I do love that.”
Tabbruis held her hand and it was sparking all the way up their arms, “My love and appreciation for our family?”
Charmeine said, “Yes; how are you doing this?”
Tabbruis nibbled and kissed her earlobe. He asked, “Number one… the fact God made me for you and God made you for me?” While kissing Charmeine, Tabbruis pushed her down on the couch.
She said, “Yes, God, Yes!”
With no more strength to fight their attraction and need, Tabbruis picked up Charmeine and took her to their bed locking the door behind them. Nothing else and no one mattered. Tabbruis would not let his wife out of bed until they were sated of their desires.

Tabbruis gently kissed his sleeping Charmeine and ran his finger on her jaw taking her long, golden blonde hair off her face. She was exhausted from their afternoon together. He tried to leave her alone but he just could not.
Charmeine and Tabbruis Forever
Tabbruis put on his robe and went out on the terrace to think. He paced up and down the terrace asking, ‘How did I get blessed with a woman like her?’ God answered every prayer he ever had in Charmeine.
Conversely, he started to think of Thomas and Laura. Thomas was a Blood-Hunter and Laura was a Light-Bearer. They were chased around the world and hunted like animals until Laura had been executed and Thomas barely escaped with his life.
Tabbruis began to tense up. He vowed their family had to find a way to destroy the Elder Council and their evilness.
Tabbruis came to the bed mainly just to be with Charmeine and lay down beside her. He gently rolled Charmeine over onto his chest and wrapped his arms around her tight. She nuzzled up into his arms and wrapped her body against his. He now started to blink his eyes and became too tired to think anymore.
Tabbruis laid his head back and softly pleaded, “God help us!” and began to sleep.

I self-talk and say I must have the determination whether I win or lose…
I just need to apply the best of myself to the task…
or at least have a second cup of coffee!
