For those who are fans of the late Sidney Sheldon (in particular his latter works) then may I suggest Lust, Money & Murder – the first in a three part series written by Mike Wells? The novella possesses most of the components that made Sheldon’s books so captivating.  A fast plot. International intrigue. And a beautiful heroine with a troubled past who uses her inner resolve to climb her way to the top..Wells does his research…readers will get a detailed account of what it takes to join the secret service, how to detect counterfeit bills as well as what the reality of life is like for young women living in Bulgaria.

What are my books about?
“The Light-Bearer Series” is about Tabbruis and Charmeine.  He’s a Vampire or Blood-Hunter and she is an Angel or Light-Bearer.  However, I never said in my books that Tabbruis is a Vampire. I said he was a Blood-Hunter throughout the series.
Why? I wanted to set up this series that action was being played mostly in today’s time period but also in past time periods. Tabbruis shares, along with his other Blood-Hunter buddies, Dmitri, Neal and Thomas all their rich eyewitness encounters with the most significant events of human history.
Now, for the sexy part… Tabbruis and Charmeine are opposites and they attract just like magnets.  Charmeine is Angelic and supposed to kill Blood-Hunters, and Tabbruis is Hellish and supposed to kill Light-Bearers. But when they meet, that is the last thing they have on their mind, quite the opposite!
Now, to survive their forbidden love, they battle the Evil Elder Council that has put a price on their heads. In “The Light-Bearer Series” we find out that Charmeine has been given the task of being the Queen of the Light-Bearers and as such, she is given a Holy Edict to rid the Earth of evil in ALL forms along with her King of Darkness, Tabbruis.
What goes into the recipe for a great paranormal romance . . . hummmm?
Oh my, the perfect man, warped on the inside and drop-dead gorgeous on the outside. You need a woman who is not a weakling, but a strong, capable and formidable lady.  I’m so through with women always having to be saved.  “Charmeine” was written in my mind that my women characters were very independent, smart and sassy.  Then you have to have the perfect mystery and mystical mix to make the pot nice and hot to boil in sexiness (smexy), action, and adventure
How did I create the perfect “Swoon” worthy man?
Ah yes, the man. It always comes down to the perfect man! I’m different than most women; I like a hero that is damaged. Heroes such as Heathcliff, Mr. Rochester or Mr. Darcy, all are perfect in my eyes because they are kind of warped on the inside. Then, they melt their icy hearts when the love of their life comes into view. Damaged, good-looking men are always a treat to the eyes. I love tall, no nonsense, dark-haired, half-shaven, dressed nicely, built, athletic, and most of all smoking eyes that can melt anyone with a look.
If I was a paranormal being, what would I be?
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved vampires . . . I guess I watched too many episodes of “Dark Shadows” after school.
I want my readers to know.
Have a good time reading.
If you love romance and then don’t settle for anything less than two opposites which when they come together, it is like centrifugal force and the longing and heart-wrenching drama is overwhelming to them and they cannot understand what happened.
If you love paranormal action, you should be hit like lightning when it strikes a beach which makes these wonderful glass conflagrations in the sand. The sand melts with the force of the lightning.
I think Paranormal Romance should have mystery, never possession, but magnetism that can’t be explained or overcame with power, wealth or sex. Romance is not sex. Romance is connection and Paranormal Romance is romance with a bite!

Drop Dead Gorgeous 
and Grecian living statue come to life
is Tabbruis!  

Tabbruis is the man of my dreams!  He has deep, hypnotic green, emerald eyes that can make a girl melt.  Kind and honest to a fault, he is The King of the Blood-Hunters!
With a little hint of a Middle-East accent, Tabbruis has a lovely bass voice. However, he can speak almost any language even with the proper dialect.
He was a loner for thousands of years. Very wealthy and rich beyond anyone has a clue at, he usually doesn’t splurge on himself.
Tabbruis makes Charmeine heat up with just a look! Heck, I would too!  He is brave and bold, but shy too.  Ah, the sweetness…  He is a perfect gentleman, but somehow, he makes big mistakes.
He relishes having his Charmeine in his arms!  Now, he loves to spoil Charmeine rotten with any luxury he can think of.
Tabbruis loves Charmeine and his family, but he’s a little soft for his muscle car… 2013 Dodge Charger SRT8, AWD with a Hemi Engine with 465 horses.
Tabbruis has a built in radar detector with his Blood-Hunter senses and can race through New York City without getting a ticket!

However, Tabbruis also loves his horses, Tristan and Isolde too. Charmeine has fell in love with them as well!  Of course Tristan is the black horse that Tabbruis rides and Isolde is the white horse that Charmeine has.
Tristan is always itching to race, but Isolde won’t let him have the upper hand, so to speak! Tabbruis and Charmeine have a blast racing the beautiful animals across the countryside.

Dmitri

One of my favorite to die for characters!
OMG!! Dmitri is just “Hotness on a stick!”
He is exact, bold and unbelievably sexy!  Dmitri is the one of the oldest of the Blood-Hunters in the world.
He is wise and helps Tabbruis and Charmeine with his knowledge.  He was named as the trusted ‘Advisor’ to Charmeine. He runs or is the Administrator of the “Castle Charmeine.”
On the other hand, Dmitri can come out with the funniest comments! He is known for his signature and snarky… ‘Oh my’His story really picks up with steamy scenes in the following novels!

Hera is Dmitri’s beloved and gorgeous Grecian wife who comes back into his life and they mix it up!

I love Thomas and his innocence, but truly, he is an Adonis.  Golden Brown hair and wonderful sky blue eyes…  ahh….
His mission is avenging the death of his precious Laura who was killed; get this…by his own Father, the evil Pascal, the Head of the Elder Council!
He is a very loving and faithful man.  He tries so hard to make up for the terrible Blood-Hunter father he had, Pascal, who is terrorizing and threatening the inhabitants of the “Castle Charmeine.”
Thomas is a very conservative and faithful Blood-Hunter and used to serve as a Deacon in the Catholic Church.
Nevertheless, Thomas has a deep secret he carries and when it is revealed… it will leave you reeling.

Laura



Laura is the smart, sassy and extremely intelligent Doctor of Castle Charmeine.  She is an extremely good physician but her bedside manner is not to be found when she is in an emergency!
Laura has been on the Earth for thousands of years as a Light-Bearer.  She has been taking care of people for as long as she has been on Earth. Sometimes with a snarky comment, her humor is always on the mark.
However, Laura has a dark and frightening past, and Thomas is her savior.

Neal
(aka Nemamiah)

Neal (aka Nemamiah) is the wonderful HUGE Protector of the “Castle Charmeine!” Neal is from Africa and has a thick accent with a booming deep bass voice.
He is at least 7 foot tall and is just a cuddly teddy bear of the family but he can also rip your arm off yawning!  STRONG MAN!
His bald head and intimidating stature makes him a perfect military man.
He is incredibly gorgeous, but ladies… sorry, Neal has a love and his name is Hameal!  Murdered by the evil Elder Council, Hameal was Neal’s heart. So Neal is out to avenge his gorgeous lover’s death!

OMG! What a hunk!
Hameal is from Egypt, and before he met his lover, Neal, he was a builder of the Pharaohs.
Now, he is a builder, architect and designer of the Castle Charmeine.
In addition, he is a wonderful friend to Charmeine, as they always have their heads together chatting about something… usually gossip.
Ladies, this is the man to have on your side when good times are to be had!

Shane 

Shane is just too yummy for words!
He is always cracking jokes and provides much comic relief but he is also built like a Viking Warrior!
He has long red hair, crystal clear blue eyes and built like a brick house! Shane has all the characteristics of his mother, Charmeine, a Light-Bearer and his father, Tabbruis, a Blood-Hunter.
He is strong in wisdom and is fiercely in love with his soul mate Sandra Gomez.
They are such a wonderful and dynamic couple!

Sandra

Shane’s fiancee and spunky spitfire!
Sandra Gomez is 100 pounds of dynamite! She can do almost anything and is afraid of nothing.
She grew up in the Bronx barely surviving and went into the Army where she was recruited into Special Ops. That is where she met her soul mate Shane. They fell instantly in love and care for each other deeply.
She is a Light-Bearer and a Flame-Bearer also.
Also, she has a ‘killing’ sense of humor all wrapped up in one hell of a Feisty woman.
The Men at the Castle Charmeine are truly amazed by this smart, beautiful and deadly adversary!

Last but not least, CHARMEINE!

When Charmeine meets Tabbruis, it is like two stars colliding. The scene is electric with desire, attraction and heat!
She is light, love, honesty, beauty and courage wrapped into one package. Also, she is hot-tempered, jealous and blows up at times.
Loving and accepting of all the family at the Castle Charmeine.  She draws them to her.  She is also fiercely protective of Tabbruis and her family.
When Charmeine realizes her role as the Queen of the Light-Bearers, she takes the responsibility of saving humankind from all of Lucifer’s minions on Earth!

 5 Star Review of “His Judas Bride”
Darkness has long since blanketed Callm & Kara’s lives – five whole years in fact. Both characters are still wounded by the past, both begin the story fighting with everything they have at their disposal – Callm with his sword and daggers, ready and willing to slit Kara’s pretty little throat if need be; and Kara with her schemes, quick mind and unending determination.

After enduring more than anyone’s share of torture, Kara goes to marry a monster with a plan that not only risks her life but her future husband’s. I read this heart stopping book feeling every bit of strain of the choices she’s forced to make, the way she has to survive.

And Callm, with a dead heart and a soul he assumed he’d long since sold to the devil, is as terrifying as he is intriguing. A man who wouldn’t hesitate to kill, but also a man with a level of tenderness he had no idea he could even possess, quickly burrowed into my heart.

The author dragged me into a world where life isn’t lived, it’s a fight just to breathe for another day. The pain, torment, anguish and fire are real, gritty and put me through a whirlwind of emotions that left me raw at times, fulfilled to the point of bursting at others.

I can honestly say I’ve never read a story so deep, hot and dark that it dictated every feeling I had in a way that sucked me in and held me hostage.

His Judas Bride is a definite keeper, and much like the author’s debut, The Unraveling of Lady Fury, one I’ll read again and again.

Thanks for inviting me here today Emily.
Since you write paranormal I thought a spooky tale.
On Dartmoor in England, the notorious squire Cabell was said to have been a huntsman who sold his soul to the Devil. When he died in 1677, black hounds appeared around his burial chamber.  If you’ve guessed this is the story that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle to write The Hound of the Baskervilles, well done.
But there’s no need to be afraid just because it’s also said I’ve sold my own soul to the Devil, that he gave me a wolf pelt that day and it made me the most ferocious warrior in two glens. The kind to serve the throats of my enemies to them for supper. Make them eat it too. I’m actually a very nice guy. Law-abiding, the lot. I was anyway, everything going along just as it should for a chieftain’s elder son, until my wife was murdered.
So, if a few stories started up about me at that time, is it my fault I’ve been obliged to back them up, because I wasn’t for standing there and doing nothing, when all it took was that one spring afternoon to change my life? We were all fed up to our back teeth here in Lochaplin Glen of afternoons like that. It’s why I formed the Brotherhood of Wolves, to take care of things and we all live in caves like bandits, doing just that.
Anyway, I’m not the only one with a ransomed soul. Kara now, my brother’s fiancée, has made a worse pact. Of course they do say an empty  soul is worthless unless it’s been filled first. That’s why you have to hope, returning to Conan Doyle and his famous quote about the devil’s instruments that they better be of flesh and blood, otherwise that’s what’s going to be spilt.

Charmeine sat up coughing the sea water trapped in her lungs. “Marriage is a three ring circus . . . engagement ring, wedding ring, and . . . suffering!” 
Tabbruis broke out with a booming laugh. He was tearing up from relief and happiness.
She laughed while coughing. He was smiling so much, it made her happy.

“That joke was bad. I mean really awful, Charmeine.”
“If it was so ‘awful,’ why did you laugh? Huh?”
“You got me there.” His smile sparkled like his emerald eyes.
They both flopped back on the blanket laughing. Then, their laughs subsided.
Tabbruis reached for her hand.
They held hands looking at the sky.
 “This is just Heaven.” Her hand was warm with white light. “I wish I could stay with you like this, just on this little beach until the end of time.”
 “I would like nothing better,” Tabbruis growled and whispered, “But, I would make one correction.”
“Oh yeah? This beach is about as perfect as they come and the cabana is like a house.”
Tabbruis turned on his side, felt the material of her swim suit and answered in a sultry low voice, “This should be outlawed, my love.”
“I take it you have a problem with my wardrobe?” She boiled with heat and not the kind of hotness from the sun.
“Actually, when I saw you walk out of the cabana, I was jealous of how it twisted around your body. . . ”  Then, he made sexy sigh, “You see . . . that is what I would like to do.”
Fire burned in her cheeks as they turned a deep red, and she began to breathe harder. “This is a beach,” and began to look around.
With a look of unrestrained desire, “My love . . . it is a private beach.” His hand started to caress her shoulder and neck.

Charleen (aka Charmeine) stood and walked past him to the railing of the terrace overlooking the harbor. Her long golden hair whipped around her shoulders. Keeping her eyes on the harbor she confided, “I was found in 1997 not having any memory before that. However, I’ve been alone.”
She smiled in remembrance. “I met Shane, but he was like a baby brother to me. I sort of took care of him.” Shaking her head, she smiled. “He was always getting into one mess after another.”
Wiping her eyes, she slowly turned away from Tabbruis’ penetrating gaze, “Loneliness . . . it’s torture in a way. No. It’s worse, because at the end of the torture, you have rest.”
She rotated her body around to look him in the eyes and professed, “There is no rest from one minute of loneliness because it fills your being and wraps your heart so tight; it doesn’t want to beat because it just hurts too much to go on.”
He closed his eyes and thought, My God! She has just described all the centuries I have been on Earth in that one sentence. He looked up at the moonlit, star-filled mosaic sky, and thought, God, what do I do? Please help me?
“I know Blood-Hunters and Light-Bearers are supposed to destroy each other, but I am hopeful you and I are . . . unique.”
He looked at her intently and thought, What is she saying?
She felt his stare and kept her head toward the harbor and declared, “A Blood-Hunter and a Light-Bearer we may be, but even if you do not want to admit it . . . there is a link between us.”

GIVEAWAY and The dream… snippet from “CHARMEINE” 1st book in “The Light-Bearer Series”

Tabbruis was dreaming as he was looking down hovering over the scene of white. He saw Charleen, and she was surrounded by clouds of white, soft pinks and blues. In the dream, he had on a white robe, a breast plate of gold, and a sword holstered at his side. Charleen had a white robe on and her hair was gathered to one side in curls. She was talking to him. However, she was calling him ‘Tabbruis’, his given name, and his heart warmed. In the dream scene, he held her in his arms. “Charmeine, you are my light and my breath. God has given the gift of our love to our family. We are truly blessed.”
They kissed and held each other close.
She whispered in his ear, “Tabbruis, I love you.”
“Semper tuus ero, Charmeine.”
“Semper tua ero, Tabbruis.”
The dream faded into misty clouds of white.

It was light outside when Charleen awoke. She felt Tabbruis’ chest under her head which comforted her immediately.
He opened his eyes, and felt her stir on his chest. He held her tightly.
She smiled and said with a whisper, “You’re here. You didn’t leave me.”
“No, I did not leave you.” He smiled and tenderly stroked her hair, “Actually, for some reason, I was very relaxed and fell asleep. Usually, I do not sleep.”
“I’m glad you did.” She smiled and yawned.
“I also had a good dream, which is unusual.” He closed his eyes recollecting the wonderful dream.
“Don’t you ever have good dreams, Tab?”
“Usually, no,” he furrowed his eyebrows. Then his face changed, and began to smile, “Though you were in my dream last night, and it was very good.”
Putting her chin on his chest, she said with wide eyes, “I had a dream, and you were in my dream too.”
“Well it is understandable, Charleen. We have had some pretty intense hours since we met.” He remembered the dream and smiled.
“Yes, but in my dream you called me a different name, Tab.” She was trying to think, “Let me see, it wasn’t Charleen. It was Charm . . .  something?” Then she furrowed her brow. “Charm . . .  Charm . . . ”
“Charmeine?” he cut her off and was shaking to his core.
“Yes, Charmeine. That’s it.” Then she furrowed her brow and asked, “How did you know that?” Not waiting for him to answer, she inquired with a wondering look, “Is your real name . . . Tabbruis?”
Again taken aback, his eyes widened, and he nodded slowly.
Tabbruis and Charleen both bolted up and sat across from each other instantly knowing they had the same dream.
Tabbruis was stunned!
Charleen was reeling!

     Regardless of your past, regardless of your obstacles, and regardless of what other people think–you can create your own path, and reach your goals and dreams in life. Your past does not have to dictate your future. You have power over your future and where you are going in your life.
     By encouraging yourself, choosing where to place your focus, you can change your life and the lives of those around you. By empowering yourself, you can then empower other people around you. When you accomplish dreams, you will feel empowered. People in your life can feel empowered by watching you reach those dreams. You and those around you can encourage each other. Around you day to day are people who you can encourage.
     Simply listening to someone who needs a person to hear them can lighten their day. To encourage someone is to nurture their hearts and spirits.
     How many people around you could feel inspired just by you noticing them, and taking a moment to uplift them? Take a moment to look around. You can make a difference.
     The opportunities are there. Do you see them?

     Singer Vivian Green said “Life is not about waiting for storms to pass… it’s about learning how to dance in the rain.” (1)  It is not as much what happens in our lives which determines the person who we become as much as it is the ways in which we respond to those experiences and situations.  We are defined by how we respond to situations in our lives, what kind of person we will be, what kind of successes and failures we will have, and if we will have the strength to endure those hurdles and appreciate the happiness which comes from them.  It is in how we handle the aspects of life which exhibits our character, ethics, and morals. We determine the person which we will be and what we will do in our lives. Many people use negative experiences in life as excuses for bad choices and behaviors. Yes, those experiences affect us and to an extent shape us. However we have the power to decide in which direction those experiences will lead us. Life will bring storms. Will you allow the storms to beat you down? To make you live in fear? Or can you be strengthened by them and enjoy a dance in the rain? Can you arise above the clouds?

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What lies before us and what lies behind us are small matters compared to what lies within us.  And when we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen.” 
     I would ask that you to stop and think about this for a few minutes. Read that quote again slowly, and then stop and think about the meaning behind the words. Think about the power in that statement. Where does it state that we can find power? It shows that the power is WITHIN US. In each of us is the ability to take the power from within and accomplish things in life. Your goals, dreams, hopes, and successes can become a reality. We are influenced by family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, experiences, and so much more. However we CHOOSE how those influences will affect us.
     At any moment, things can happen, words can be said, and experiences happen which affect us in either positive or negative ways. Every day we go out into the world not knowing what will come our way. We have limited control over things that others will say and do which may affect our lives.  One way we can have ‘some control’ in that area is to choose to spend time around positive people and to limit our time around negative people. However obstacles can still happen.  Sometimes words, actions, or situations will bring us to feelings such as hurt, sadness, anger, disappointment, fear, worry, etc.
How much will we CHOOSE to dwell on those negative feelings?
How much will we CHOOSE to allow those emotions to hold us back and drag us down?
Will we make the CHOICE to overcome? 
To heal? 
To become stronger?

Bio of Author Mary Banos
     My childhood was plagued with depression, and times of feeling suicidal. During my early adult years, I learned to receive encouragement from other people in my life, and to be able to empower myself. This included becoming able to verbalize my feelings, to acquire the ability to communicate with others about my childhood, and to receive assistance in obtaining inner healing.
     It then became my lifelong passion to encourage other people.  Over the years I have been fortunate to be able to encourage and help many individuals, partly through my work in higher education, as well as previously being a foster parent.  It has been an amazing journey of watching people to become empowered in their lives, to overcome adversities of life, and to reach their own personal lifelong goals and dreams.
    I am now taking that to another level, through my book and motivational speaking. It is my desire to encourage and inspire as many people around the world as possible, one life at a time. This is my number one lifelong passion.  Once I am able to do this full time, it will be the accomplishment of my ultimate dream in life.
     Outside of my full time employment, attending school, and promoting my book and speaking, I enjoy time with friends and daughters.  I believe that the expression, “Stop and smell the roses” represents 2 main points:
1) Stop and take the time to cherish those who are in your life who are dear to you, and be sure to express to them how greatly they are appreciated.
2) Stop and take the time to appreciate the positive aspects of your life. 
I live my life this way.  Life is more about our perspective and what happens in us more than what happens to us.
