Grey Justice is about a particular kind of justice – the sort being meted out by Tom Gray – not the type currently handed out by the justice system. If you are prepared to suspend belief and buy into this thriller, then this is a great read. It is fast paced with several twists, which makes it very enjoyable. The author handles the different plots and characters with aplomb and makes the writing of a multi stranded thriller look easy – which is most certainly isn’t!
The character of Tom Gray is clearly being set up to become the hero in a chain of thrillers which I hope will do well and will give the author the opportunity to develop the character of Tom Gray further. I loved it! A professional product and highly recommended read. Looking forward to reading Gray Resurrection.

MY REVIEW
I was pleasantly surprised when I read this enchanting book, “LightMasters” by M.G. Wells.
I have been wanting to read it for a while and just got the chance.
I loved the true YA (Young Adult) book. It was very easy to read and very well written!
There was adventure, and I got sucked up into the story easily.
Great book, and I will recommend it highly to middle school to high school young adults!
Extremely good read!
I have to give “LightMasters” a whopping five star review!

Now, a chat with 13-year-old, Jessica T. Wyrd, the action, fantasy hero of the YA novel LIGHTMASTERS Number 13, created by author MG Wells.
Thanks for having me, Emily. It’s cool to meet you.
When I was twelve, my parents were killed by a drunk driver. That’s when I was sent to live with my grandparents. Truth is, I miss my father most. He was always so kind and gentle. My mother was cold and distant. I wish I had known her better. She wasn’t around very much. She spent most of her time teaching at the university.
I was angry and sad about being forced to move from Georgia to New York. At first, it was lonely living with my grandparents, and I don’t like my new school. Most of the kids tease me, and it’s hard to find friends who get me. Also, most of the kids at school don’t like that I’m smarter than them. They also make fun of my last name and call me “weirdo weird” a lot. This really bugs me.
At first, it was a freaking nightmare loving with my grandparents, who burp and fart a lot which is gross. My Grandmother’s cooking is so disgusting, and she can be really bossy sometimes. My Grandfather has a great sense of humor and reminds me of my father. After I got to know them better, I love and respect them for their humor and wisdom.
On My 13th birthday, I saw a strange, spirally light outside my bedroom window and had to check it out. It led me to the nearby forest where I first met the magical LIGHTMASTERS Dragateen, Bo and Torc. Soon afterwards, I was transported to a place called the Otherworld, where I experienced many bizarre challenges. I especially enjoyed meeting, Gwendolyn, Lady of the Emerald Pond.The lessons I learned from LIGHTMASTERS Dragateen and Oja were awesome. They taught me to believe in the power of my thoughts and how magical they can be when properly used. Oja taught me how to become invisible using only my thoughts, and this was the most incredible experience ever.
This summer I will be traveling to Egypt with my friend, Cleopatra Quinn, and her family. I’m so excited about going there. It’s always been a dream of mine.

Review of “Charmeine” the 1st book in “The Light-Bearer Series” by Author Jemima Pett
During my illness this summer. I was unable to see all my fellow Author blog posts and like I usually TRY to do. This review was virtually unseen by me. I was stunned to find it on a Google search of all things . . .

I was dancing around my living room last night like a crazy person. What a surge to know that an Author you respect and admire has reviewed your book and didn’t throw it in the rubbish bin!
“Charmeine” along with the other books in “The Light-Bearer Series” has been revised and re-edited. I am so glad that my Indie Authors and Published Authors respect that. THANK YOU!
Book Review: Charmeine by Emily Guido

This isn’t my usual sort of book. It is a YA/Adult Fantasy story with powerfully written paranormal romance and action sequences. But it is well constructed, with a well-thought out backstory and world mythology, and it kept me interested.
Charmeine is the first in the Lightbearer series. Emily Guido introduces us first to the origins of the Light-Bearers and Blood-Hunters, with some mythology in their original world, then we find Tabbruis on his own, trying to make sense of the earth. Blood-Hunters live here, encouraged by their Elder Council to make the most of the blood provided by the population of humans that spawns everywhere. Tabbruis and some friends decide that humans are, for them, off-limits, which is a slight relief if the reader’s stomach is not up to the bloodthirstiness of their usual lifestyle.
Charleen (who we discover is really Charmeine) and her friend Shane are woven into the story deftly. Two lost souls who ended up caring for each other as they grew up in an orphanage, Shane gets a job to drive Tabbruis around New York City while he’s visiting. It’s fortunate that Tab has felt the need to be there, as Char has been singled out for an attack by other Blood-Hunters, who envisage a very nasty end for her indeed. Tab fights them off, with Char discovering her own amazing powers that assist in very special ways. And then Tab and Char realise their mutual attraction, against all Tab’s instincts as a Blood-Hunter – since he realises that Char is a Light-Bearer.
The rest of the story covers a few more attacks and how they grow to understand each other better. There are plenty of loose ends to be followed up in the rest of series.
On the whole I felt the story was well written, fast-moving and full of excellent imagery. I cared what was happening to the characters; I wanted to know how it would be resolved. I found the typesetting confusing since sometimes italics was used for thoughts, and other times it may have been used for intensity or emphasis, but there was no clear distinction. I wondered if they thought-read at one stage, and thought that would be a nice power, but I think I was wrong.
I felt it was an excellent introduction to a story and a world with new rules. If it’s your sort of thing, I think you’ll be driven very quickly to the second in the series. It’s exciting, pacy and thought-provoking, with delightful characterisation. Well done Ms Guido!

In this contemporary romance, the heroine Stacy discovers she’s a focal point in the constant battle between good and evil. She doesn’t have to go it alone, however, because she’s been sent a guardian–who just happens to be a luscious hunk with a wicked blade. The author’s love for Celtic history and mythology shines in this story, and I thought she incorporated clever updates to ancient themes. In much of the book, Stacy is still trying to get her mind around why and how these strange things are happening, and her relationship with the guardian Aaron is laced with chemistry and passion. I read Passion’s Sacred Dance over several nights, and always looked forward to picking up my Kindle.

Tabbruis made fists with his hands, slammed them on his knees and gazed into her bright brown eyes. “Elders or Blood-Hunters live on blood, like you eat food to live. After a time of total depraved treatment of humans showering carnage everywhere I went, I changed. I had a reckoning of my evil side. I swore never to drink human blood again unless it was donated. I mostly survive now on wild game. I try to stay away from heavily populated areas, so I can hunt.”He looked up to the ceiling struggling with the words to say next, “How can I convince you this is real? Heaven help me, Miss Davis. I do not know what I have done to deserve such a scourge on my soul. I have no memory before my eyes opened on that rock.”
Charleen knew he was truthful. She lifted his head so he would look into her eyes, and put her hands on his shoulders.
He was shocked but welcomed her calming and warm touch.
She did not have any fear and boldly asked him, “Do you want my blood now?”
Tabbruis’ deep green eyes bore into hers and declared, “I would never hurt you! Please know that!” Inside his heart was racing at the thought of tasting her blood, but he was going to protect and never hurt her.
“I know you are truthful,” and whispered, “I also believe you would never hurt me.”
He looked at her intently and his heart warmed. Tabbruis reached out to her hand and could actually feel the heat from her hands. The woman in front of him was giving out warming power which only a Light-Bearer could give.“Miss Davis, I said you were not my type, because you were not a Blood-Hunter. Who am I to blame you if you doubt what I am saying to you is real? You are so innocent. I did not want you to know there was such evil as myself in the world. This curse is my secret shame. But now, I do not know what to do with all this.” Tabbruis hung his head again.
She lifted his chin. “Why? What can you do? What is there to do?” Even though her head ached, she got up and walked out on the terrace.
Tabbruis just put his head in his hands with his elbows on his knees. He had told her the truth and thought, What will she do? Will she run? Will she leave me? His heart started to ache. When he saw her in the parking lot, his heart came alive. Now, it seemed his heart was breaking.
Charleen was confused, but she knew he was telling her the truth. She let the wind whip her hair around her head, and it cleared her mind. She was processing the last few minutes looking at the New York Harbor. She felt a stab in her heart at the thought of ever leaving him. Then she said in soft murmur, “I’m scared.”
Tabbruis’ sensitive ears heard her. He raced out to the terrace and stood in front of her. “I promise, Miss Davis. I will never hurt you. You are safe. I am determined to protect you. Please do not be scared.”
Nevertheless, as much as Tabbruis hated to, he pulled away from her. It felt like he was walking in quicksand over to the patio door struggling not to turn around and hold her again. Her brightness intoxicated him. Her kindness warmed him. Her smile electrified him. Her touch . . . her touch aroused him.

“Vampire Syndrome”

My thoughts
“Vampire Syndrome” by Daven Anderson is a ground-breaking and unbelievable vampire story.
I was taken aback at how he was able to actually capture Jack’s thought process so clearly. I have a brother who is mentally handicapped and the words and actions were so similar… it was like my brother was talking. I also thought Jack was the only hero of the book. The vampires were so twisted on either side and Jack was the only light to make both sides come together.
I was amazed by some of the action sequences because they were so well detailed and drawn out. Mr. Anderson’s writing is well-thought out and kept moving. There was something on each page of my Kindle that made you want to hit the arrow button to the other page. I was spellbound by “Vampire Syndrome.”
The point of view was textbook and easy to read. Mr. Anderson depicted word pictures that made my imagination fly. The characters were three-dimensional and fluid. Critically, I thought the book to be almost perfect.
Please be aware “Vampire Syndrome” has two versions one is YOUNG ADULT and one is EROTIC.
However, if you are a Paranormal Fan like me and want a pioneering, innovative and action packed vampire story, “Vampire Syndrome” is for you!
For this and so much more, I give Daven Anderson’s “Vampire Syndrome” a hearty five star rating!

“Vampire Syndrome”
Synopsis
Can Special Oympics champion Jack Wendell survive, now that he’s been turned into a vampire?
All Jack wants is to be accepted as a valued member of the vampire community. But he can’t do this when Chief Venator (vampire law enforcer) Damien Tepesh has ordered Jack to be killed.
Fortunately, Jack wins the respect of a powerful ally. Lilith Morrigan, President of the Vampires, hides Jack from the ruthless Venators and gives him a chance to prove his worth. But she cannot stop her husband Damien from targeting Jack.
Damien summons Romania’s Chief Venator Zetania Vinescu to Colorado to help him hunt Jack. Lilith over-rides her husband and orders Zetania to protect Jack from the Venators.

WELCOME Daven!
Please share about how in the world did you come up with the idea for “Vampire Syndrome”?
On June 13, 2009, I finished reading “Breaking Dawn.” I found the ending to be flat, and I thought, “I could write something better that that.” By the time I went to bed that night, I had the basic storyline and my four main characters (Jack, Damien, Lilith and Zetania) clearly defined in my mind.
“Vampire Syndrome” is so different from what I’ve ever read before. What was the thought process behind it? Did you have to do research into the condition of Down’s syndrome?
I have worked side-by-side with special-needs individuals (Down Syndrome, autistic, etc.) for over twenty years. The grocery industry makes notable efforts to employ special-needs individuals and use their skills to the best advantage for all concerned. Special-needs individuals are valuable members of our team, just like anyone else. When they work as a team with everyone else, it builds their self-esteem and gives them a sense a purpose in the world. That’s what we all want, really!
When you have worked with special-needs persons for as long as I have, I have done all the “research” I could ever need to do simply by observing them, interacting with them, and being friends with them. As Yogi Berra said, “You can observe a lot just by watching.”
I have a brother who is mentally handicapped. I know from experience how my brother was treated. I was always in defense of him and taking care of him… even though he was older. Can you share some of your personal thought about Down’s syndrome and how our society lifts or lets down the handicapped?
I could write a non-fiction book or three simply from my experiences at work. One of our special-needs employees was featured in a local newspaper article for his outstanding customer service skills. Does it get any better than that? On the darker side, we once had to call the police to deal with a pack of youths who were bullying an autistic employee and physically preventing him from collecting our shopping carts. Not the best idea when the police station is one block away from our store! Over a dozen cop cars showed up.
The saddest thing is when you get that rare customer who is prejudiced against special-needs individuals. One obviously biased woman asked me to get another sacker to finish bagging her order. I refused to do so, and I told her “*** is doing his job correctly.” I refused to put up with her degrading treatment, because *** is not just my co-worker, he is my friend.
One of the most important points I make in my book is that cunning and quick wit do not equal wisdom. Damien and Lilith excel in cunning and quick-witted strategy, but many of their actions are not wise. In terms of their actions, Jack is the wisest character in my book. He is the only one who always does what he should be doing.
In our everyday lives, most all of us will know at least one “smart” person who makes bad choices. What my novel shows you is that wisdom is not defined by a person’s I.Q. score. The special-needs people I’ve worked with for twenty years are some of the wisest people I will ever know.
If someone else was describing “Vampire Syndrome” what would they say?
“It sure is original.” I think I’ve succeeded in crafting a novel where even its harshest critics will have to concede that it is at least an original concept, and that I wrote it the way I wanted to do it.
The feedback I’ve received has been much better than I thought. I was worried that some people would be turned off by the harsh nature of Damien and Lilith’s antagonistic marriage relationship, which is basically a vampire version of “War Of The Roses” or “Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.” Then I combined that with Jack, who is a vampire version of “Forrest Gump.” Not the most obvious combination, I admit, but it sure is original!
I love this question because you never know what you will come up with… what random fact about yourself that would surprise your fans and our readers?
I am a big fan of the TV series “Xena: Warrior Princess.”
Why are you drawn to be a great Author of Paranormal? Why Vampires especially?
Explaining thousands of years of worldwide vampire folklore in scientific and rational terms was the most enjoyable challenge I’ve had in my life. I ended up with two types of vampires, humans and the alien “Pures.” I couldn’t rationalize, in scientific terms, the human body changing enough to combust in sunlight, generate inner gravity to cling to walls and ceilings, or to suddenly become garlic-averse after years of eating garlic as a normal human. But when you have an alien race, all of these become easy to explain. If the Pures’ home planet had full cloud cover, they did not evolve with a tolerance for direct UV radiation from sunlight. No life form on Earth (that I know of) generates its own inner gravitational forces, but the Pures are aliens. And their home planet has no acidic plants such as onions or garlic, meaning the Pures did not evolve with a tolerance for same.
Some people will say the scariest thing about my novel is that all my explanations of this folklore make sense.
Who are your favorite authors and why?
Philip K. Dick. The closer we get to his visions of the future, the more we realize how right he was. By the time “Minority Report” came out as a movie, everyone in the audience knew those personalized advertising holograms will soon be possible.
William Shakespeare. The human conditions he expresses are timeless.
If you could live during any period in time, when would it be and who would you be?
Right now. It’s an exciting time to be an author, living in the greatest period of literary change since the Gutenberg Press was invented.
Do you have a day job? If so, how does your writing fit in?
My working closely for with special-needs people for over twenty years in the grocery business has allowed me to craft a uniquely realistic first-person point of view, seen through the eyes of a special-needs person. So far, every reader of Vampire Syndrome who has a special-needs family member or friend has agreed that Jack’s point of view is right on target.
And, working in the retail grocery business for that length of time will educate you about everything you would ever want to know about human nature, whether you wished to learn it or not.
Can you can share with us about books you have written after
“Vampire Syndrome”?
I’m working on “Vampire Conspiracy”, the second novel of the ”Vampire Syndrome” trilogy. And “Sisters Of The Alpha Moon”, a novel about an all-female werewolf pack.
It will be quite a task to re-invent the werewolf universe in the same manner that I did for vampires in “Vampire Syndrome.” Including a more precise explanation for what silver bullets actually do to their kind.

Jack Wendell:
Is this the end of my life? Am I gonna die? The girl in the pink tank-top shoves me down to the ground and bares her fangs. This can’t be. Vampires are just in books and movies. And she’s wearing a big cross, too. Aren’t Vampires afraid of crosses?
I fight to slip free from her grip. She’s shrieking like a wounded animal as she tries to bite my neck. Just as I get my left arm free, she grabs it.
The girl twists my arm behind my back, leans down and bites my neck hard.Her fangs sink in. The pain sends shock waves through my upper body. I can feel her sucking blood out of my neck vein.
Gross.
Three people run up to us, grab the girl and try to pull her off of me.
A tall guy wraps his arms around her torso and yells “Let him go!”
At last, the people manage to pull the screaming girl off me.
I push myself up from the pavement and run down Lowell Boulevard, to get back to my group home. And get as far as I can from that mad, biting lady.
What the hell just happened? One moment, I was running practice laps on the Mullen High School track. Next thing I knew, some crazy lady with Vampire teeth jumped on me and bit my neck.
Hard.

She needs to go to jail. Jumping on people and biting them is an assault charge, like I saw on Cops.
She might kick the policemen and bite them, too, like the long-haired shirtless guy did in that trailer park episode.
I’m walking uphill on Lowell Boulevard. Feels like I’m in slow motion. Oxford Street can’t be more than two blocks away, but it’s taking forever for me to get there.
My head feels like it’s floating in space. But I’m not dizzy, like I was the first time I got off a roller coaster. I was seven years old. I could barely stand up after I rode Mister Twister. Right now, I’m walking just fine. It just seems like time’s standing still.

My review of
“Vampire Syndrome”
by Daven Anderson
Jack Wendell is a person with Down’s Syndrome and a Gold Medal Special Olympics runner! He is bit one night by a rabid vampire and the adventure begins there.
Jack finds there is a world that he never knew about but in books and that wasn’t even right. There are vampires who are human and then there are vampires who are alien called, “Pures.”
Now, the human vampires have a rule that any vampire which is mentally handicapped is put to death.
So, needless to say, Jack is on the run for his life from a merciless venerator, (vampire law-keeper) Damien.
What makes it more confusing for Jack is that Damien’s wife, Lilith, is the Vampire President!
She wants to save Jack but Damien wants Jack DEAD!
Now, Lilith is not all warm and loving… no way! She is just as twisted and ruthless as her husband, Damien. They have a small love and big hate relationship. Damien and Lilith are constantly one-upping each other. Damien with his mistress and Lilith with her covertly hiding Jack. The power-play between these unsavory characters was vicious.
Damien can’t get Jack so he calls in the “Big Guns” from Romania to catch him called Zetania! She is an accomplished venerator and very skilled to bring Jack in.
However, what Damien doesn’t know is that she is working on the slide for Lilith… How can Jack survive? Will he be able to change the world of human vampires? Will he make them accept him the way he is?
My thoughts
“Vampire Syndrome” by Daven Anderson is a ground-breaking and unbelievable vampire story.
I was taken aback at how he was able to actually capture Jack’s thought process so clearly. I have a brother who is mentally handicapped and the words and actions were so similar… it was like my brother was talking. I also thought Jack was the only hero of the book. The vampires were so twisted on either side and Jack was the only light to make both sides come together.
I was amazed by some of the action sequences because they were so well detailed and drawn out. Mr. Anderson’s writing is well-thought out and kept moving. There was something on each page of my Kindle that made you want to hit the arrow button to the other page. I was spellbound by “Vampire Syndrome.”
The point of view was textbook and easy to read. Mr. Anderson depicted word pictures that made my imagination fly. The characters were three-dimensional and fluid. Critically, I thought the book to be almost perfect.
Please be aware “Vampire Syndrome” has two versions one is YOUNG ADULT and one is EROTIC.
However, if you are a Paranormal Fan like me and want a pioneering, innovative and action packed vampire story, “Vampire Syndrome” is for you!
For this and so much more, I give Daven Anderson’s “Vampire Syndrome” a hearty five star rating!

Synopsis
Can Special Oympics champion Jack Wendell survive, now that he’s been turned into a vampire?
All Jack wants is to be accepted as a valued member of the vampire community. But he can’t do this when Chief Venator (vampire law enforcer) Damien Tepesh has ordered Jack to be killed.
Fortunately, Jack wins the respect of a powerful ally. Lilith Morrigan, President of the Vampires, hides Jack from the ruthless Venators and gives him a chance to prove his worth. But she cannot stop her husband Damien from targeting Jack.
Damien summons Romania’s Chief Venator Zetania Vinescu to Colorado to help him hunt Jack. Lilith over-rides her husband and orders Zetania to protect Jack from the Venators.

WELCOME Daven!
Please share about how in the world did you come up with the idea for “Vampire Syndrome”?
On June 13, 2009, I finished reading “Breaking Dawn.” I found the ending to be flat, and I thought, “I could write something better that that.” By the time I went to bed that night, I had the basic storyline and my four main characters (Jack, Damien, Lilith and Zetania) clearly defined in my mind.
“Vampire Syndrome” is so different from what I’ve ever read before. What was the thought process behind it? Did you have to do research into the condition of Down’s syndrome?
I have worked side-by-side with special-needs individuals (Down Syndrome, autistic, etc.) for over twenty years. The grocery industry makes notable efforts to employ special-needs individuals and use their skills to the best advantage for all concerned. Special-needs individuals are valuable members of our team, just like anyone else. When they work as a team with everyone else, it builds their self-esteem and gives them a sense a purpose in the world. That’s what we all want, really!
When you have worked with special-needs persons for as long as I have, I have done all the “research” I could ever need to do simply by observing them, interacting with them, and being friends with them. As Yogi Berra said, “You can observe a lot just by watching.”
I have a brother who is mentally handicapped. I know from experience how my brother was treated. I was always in defense of him and taking care of him… even though he was older. Can you share some of your personal thought about Down’s syndrome and how our society lifts or lets down the handicapped?I could write a non-fiction book or three simply from my experiences at work. One of our special-needs employees was featured in a local newspaper article for his outstanding customer service skills. Does it get any better than that? On the darker side, we once had to call the police to deal with a pack of youths who were bullying an autistic employee and physically preventing him from collecting our shopping carts. Not the best idea when the police station is one block away from our store! Over a dozen cop cars showed up.
The saddest thing is when you get that rare customer who is prejudiced against special-needs individuals. One obviously biased woman asked me to get another sacker to finish bagging her order. I refused to do so, and I told her “*** is doing his job correctly.” I refused to put up with her degrading treatment, because *** is not just my co-worker, he is my friend.
One of the most important points I make in my book is that cunning and quick wit do not equal wisdom. Damien and Lilith excel in cunning and quick-witted strategy, but many of their actions are not wise. In terms of their actions, Jack is the wisest character in my book. He is the only one who always does what he should be doing.
In our everyday lives, most all of us will know at least one “smart” person who makes bad choices. What my novel shows you is that wisdom is not defined by a person’s I.Q. score. The special-needs people I’ve worked with for twenty years are some of the wisest people I will ever know.
If someone else was describing “Vampire Syndrome” what would they say?
“It sure is original.” I think I’ve succeeded in crafting a novel where even its harshest critics will have to concede that it is at least an original concept, and that I wrote it the way I wanted to do it.
The feedback I’ve received has been much better than I thought. I was worried that some people would be turned off by the harsh nature of Damien and Lilith’s antagonistic marriage relationship, which is basically a vampire version of “War Of The Roses” or “Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.” Then I combined that with Jack, who is a vampire version of “Forrest Gump.” Not the most obvious combination, I admit, but it sure is original!
I love this question because you never know what you will come up with… what random fact about yourself that would surprise your fans and our readers?
I am a big fan of the TV series “Xena: Warrior Princess.”
Why are you drawn to be a great Author of Paranormal? Why Vampires especially?
Explaining thousands of years of worldwide vampire folklore in scientific and rational terms was the most enjoyable challenge I’ve had in my life. I ended up with two types of vampires, humans and the alien “Pures.” I couldn’t rationalize, in scientific terms, the human body changing enough to combust in sunlight, generate inner gravity to cling to walls and ceilings, or to suddenly become garlic-averse after years of eating garlic as a normal human. But when you have an alien race, all of these become easy to explain. If the Pures’ home planet had full cloud cover, they did not evolve with a tolerance for direct UV radiation from sunlight. No life form on Earth (that I know of) generates its own inner gravitational forces, but the Pures are aliens. And their home planet has no acidic plants such as onions or garlic, meaning the Pures did not evolve with a tolerance for same.
Some people will say the scariest thing about my novel is that all my explanations of this folklore make sense.
Who are your favorite authors and why?
Philip K. Dick. The closer we get to his visions of the future, the more we realize how right he was. By the time “Minority Report” came out as a movie, everyone in the audience knew those personalized advertising holograms will soon be possible.
William Shakespeare. The human conditions he expresses are timeless.
If you could live during any period in time, when would it be and who would you be?
Right now. It’s an exciting time to be an author, living in the greatest period of literary change since the Gutenberg Press was invented.
Do you have a day job? If so, how does your writing fit in?
My working closely for with special-needs people for over twenty years in the grocery business has allowed me to craft a uniquely realistic first-person point of view, seen through the eyes of a special-needs person. So far, every reader of Vampire Syndrome who has a special-needs family member or friend has agreed that Jack’s point of view is right on target.
And, working in the retail grocery business for that length of time will educate you about everything you would ever want to know about human nature, whether you wished to learn it or not.
Can you can share with us about books you have written after
“Vampire Syndrome”?
I’m working on “Vampire Conspiracy”, the second novel of the ”Vampire Syndrome” trilogy. And “Sisters Of The Alpha Moon”, a novel about an all-female werewolf pack.
It will be quite a task to re-invent the werewolf universe in the same manner that I did for vampires in “Vampire Syndrome.” Including a more precise explanation for what silver bullets actually do to their kind.

Is this the end of my life? Am I gonna die? The girl in the pink tank-top shoves me down to the ground and bares her fangs. This can’t be. Vampires are just in books and movies. And she’s wearing a big cross, too. Aren’t Vampires afraid of crosses?I fight to slip free from her grip. She’s shrieking like a wounded animal as she tries to bite my neck. Just as I get my left arm free, she grabs it.
The girl twists my arm behind my back, leans down and bites my neck hard.Her fangs sink in. The pain sends shock waves through my upper body. I can feel her sucking blood out of my neck vein.
Gross.
Three people run up to us, grab the girl and try to pull her off of me.
A tall guy wraps his arms around her torso and yells “Let him go!”
At last, the people manage to pull the screaming girl off me.
I push myself up from the pavement and run down Lowell Boulevard, to get back to my group home. And get as far as I can from that mad, biting lady.

Immediately when they got off the elevator and stepped into the Lobby, Shane and Charmeine were taken aback. They saw a massive security force there. In addition, there were three black Hummers along with a Police escort for the front and back.
“What’s going on Dad? Is President Obama staying here?” Shane asked with a perplexed half-smile.
Shane’s questions were cut short when Mr. Ferrell walked to them. “Mr. Hunter, everything has been arranged as required for your family’s safety.”
Tabbruis nodded with a serious look scanning the Lobby. He handed Mr. Ferrell a package. “Mr. Ferrell, you have been extremely accommodating. I have generously rewarded you. I appreciate everything which you have done for me. Please let me know if should need anything. I am truly in your debt, my friend.” Mr. Ferrell smiled and shook Tabbruis’ hand.
Mr. Ferrell smiled wide, “May you and your family have a safe journey. Please come and stay with us again, any time Mr. Hunter. Your family is always welcome at the Ritz-Carlton.”
Just then a huge, gorgeous, African-American man came through the door of the Lobby.
Charmeine thought he must have been a security officer or guard of some sort, because he looked like he was at least 7 feet tall, probably more. The Adonis was so well-built; she could see bulges of muscles under his jacket. He was bald and wore sunglasses.
In a deep commanding voice, he smiled big and yelled, “Tabbruis! Brother, how are you?” He hugged Tabbruis and patted his back.
“Good to see you, Brother!” Tabbruis smiled and gave him a tight hug in return.
The man bellowed, “It has been too many years, Tabbruis!” Then he looked around and said softly in a thick African accent, “Let us go now, and we will catch up when the danger is abated. Would you please follow me Hunter Family?” He escorted them to the second black Hummer, and the door was slammed closed. The gigantic man spoke on his walkie-talkie in code.
Charmeine could not understand the code. But she figured the ‘all clear’ was sounded because the caravan started to move. Her head was spinning. However, when she looked at Shane and Tabbruis, it appeared they both knew the military lingo.
Once they were underway, the man smiled wide showing bright white teeth against his beautiful dark mocha skin, “Tabbruis, very nice to see you again, I would love to meet your family.”
“Neal, let me introduce you to my wife, Charmeine and my son, Shane. This is my brother, Mr. Neal Michaels.”
Wife? Wife? Charmeine thought, and looked at Tabbruis with questioning eyes.
She heard a resounding deep voice say, “Pleasure Ma’am,” and she took her eyes away from Tabbruis. The man shook her hand while it disappeared into his big hand.
“Nice to meet you Shane,” Neal shook his hand.
“I will be in charge of your security from here on out,” Neal proudly and serious announced. “I have served in many battles with Tabbruis. We met in 193 A.D.” At that moment, he turned and looked out the window with a distressed face. Then he turned back again to them and said, “I am from Africa around Cairo, Egypt. Tabbruis and I fought with the African born, Roman Emperor Septimus Severus, so the people could gain control of the corrupt empire. Then with a look of sadness, he said, “But even before, Tabbruis has been my brother. I consider it an honor to be your Protector.”
“So, Brother… Dmitri sent you?” Tabbruis was scanning his brother’s face and offering thanks. He knew Dmitri was backing him up all the way from Romania. Once a Brother, always a Brother, he thought.
“Yes, he did. Dmitri thought I had particular skills in this kind of security. He sent me to assure your family’s safe passage from the Elder Council and Temple Guards… since I was one.”
Shane was alarmed and threw his arm over Charmeine. “Wait! You are a Blood-Hunter Guard from the Elder Counsel How can we trust that you won’t hurt Char?”
Tabbruis opened his mouth to try to reassure Shane.
Neal sternly interjected, “I am a Blood-Hunter and an Elder; I also was a Temple Guard, but I have changed! I do not partake in killing humans and Light-Bearers. I have a dear and good friend who is a Light-Bearer.” Treating Shane like an insolent child, he harshly said, “You see, Shane, there are some Elders like your father; who are tolerant and accepting of others! There are Elders who believe the only way to exist on the Earth is in peace. We do not seek violence but harmony with the humans. Listen to me… this is not the first time I have ever experienced a Blood-Hunter take a Light-Bearer for a mate…”
Neal’s eyes looked out the window, and he became solemn as he said, “But… the couple did not fare well. I am pledging my protection to your family so what happened to them does not happen to my brother, Tabbruis. You have my word of honor, Shane, Charmeine and Tabbruis. I will keep you safe.”
“Thank you, Neal. I have missed you, Brother,” as Tabbruis patted him on his shoulder and smiled.
As they walked out, Tabbruis thought, All of us Brothers under one tiny castle in Romania… what will Charmeine think?

Mr. Ferrell smiled wide, “May you and your family have a safe journey. Please come and stay with us again, any time Mr. Hunter. Your family is always welcome at the Ritz-Carlton.”Just then a huge, gorgeous, African-American man came through the door of the Lobby.
Charmeine thought he must have been a security officer or guard of some sort, because he looked like he was at least 7 feet tall, probably more. The Adonis was so well-built; she could see bulges of muscles under his jacket. He was bald and wore sunglasses.
In a deep commanding voice, he smiled big and yelled, “Tabbruis! Brother, how are you?” He hugged Tabbruis and patted his back.
“Good to see you, Brother!” Tabbruis smiled and gave him a tight hug in return.The man bellowed, “It has been too many years, Tabbruis!” Then he looked around and said softly in a thick African accent, “Let us go now, and we will catch up when the danger is abated. Would you please follow me Hunter Family?” He escorted them to the second black Hummer, and the door was slammed closed. The gigantic man spoke on his walkie-talkie in code.
Charmeine could not understand the code. But she figured the ‘all clear’ was sounded because the caravan started to move. Her head was spinning. However, when she looked at Shane and Tabbruis, it appeared they both knew the military lingo.
Once they were underway, the man smiled wide showing bright white teeth against his beautiful dark mocha skin, “Tabbruis, very nice to see you again, I would love to meet your family.”
“Neal, let me introduce you to my wife, Charmeine and my son, Shane. This is my brother, Mr. Neal Michaels.”
Wife? Wife? Charmeine thought, and looked at Tabbruis with questioning eyes.
She heard a resounding deep voice say, “Pleasure Ma’am,” and she took her eyes away from Tabbruis. The man shook her hand while it disappeared into his big hand.
“Nice to meet you Shane,” Neal shook his hand.
“I will be in charge of your security from here on out,” Neal proudly and serious announced. “I have served in many battles with Tabbruis. We met in 193 A.D.” At that moment, he turned and looked out the window with a distressed face. Then he turned back again to them and said, “I am from Africa around Cairo, Egypt. Tabbruis and I fought with the African born, Roman Emperor Septimus Severus, so the people could gain control of the corrupt empire. Then with a look of sadness, he said, “But even before, Tabbruis has been my brother. I consider it an honor to be your Protector.”
“So, Brother… Dmitri sent you?” Tabbruis was scanning his brother’s face and offering thanks. He knew Dmitri was backing him up all the way from Romania. Once a Brother, always a Brother, he thought.“Yes, he did. Dmitri thought I had particular skills in this kind of security. He sent me to assure your family’s safe passage from the Elder Council and Temple Guards… since I was one.”
Shane was alarmed and threw his arm over Charmeine. “Wait! You are a Blood-Hunter Guard from the Elder Counsel How can we trust that you won’t hurt Char?”
Tabbruis opened his mouth to try to reassure Shane.
Neal sternly interjected, “I am a Blood-Hunter and an Elder; I also was a Temple Guard, but I have changed! I do not partake in killing humans and Light-Bearers. I have a dear and good friend who is a Light-Bearer.” Treating Shane like an insolent child, he harshly said, “You see, Shane, there are some Elders like your father; who are tolerant and accepting of others! There are Elders who believe the only way to exist on the Earth is in peace. We do not seek violence but harmony with the humans. Listen to me… this is not the first time I have ever experienced a Blood-Hunter take a Light-Bearer for a mate…”
Neal’s eyes looked out the window, and he became solemn as he said, “But… the couple did not fare well. I am pledging my protection to your family so what happened to them does not happen to my brother, Tabbruis. You have my word of honor, Shane, Charmeine and Tabbruis. I will keep you safe.”
“Thank you, Neal. I have missed you, Brother,” as Tabbruis patted him on his shoulder and smiled.
As they walked out, Tabbruis thought, All of us Brothers under one tiny castle in Romania… what will Charmeine think?

Tabbruis and Charmeine sat on the big couch overlooking the moonlit ocean through a big picture window. The window was screened, and she opened it to get the night breeze. While she ate and he drank his dinner, they talked quietly.
She asked him more about the history he experienced. He answered her questions because he knew she loved it. But when she asked, “Tabbruis, since you have lived so long, have societal civil rights actions and democratic nations shaped the Elder Council’s opinion at all?”
He was taken aback at her question and replied, “For all, this one issue is interesting and important. The human race has evolved with elements of justice in almost every society on Earth. However, Blood-Hunters and Light-Bearers have a history of descent which has never changed. There is but one hope… a Prophecy! I know Dmitri believes the Prophecy will unite us all and bring justice to our species. Nevertheless, it is like a pipedream. We will survive Charmeine, I am determined God will guide us through all of this.”
“Yes and our love will see us through, Tabbruis. Never forget, our love,” she said softly.
Both hung their heads. They seemed to know the day of rest and fun was over.
Charmeine softly said as she got up, “I’m going to clean up the dishes and go to bed. You can stay up as much as you want.”
Tabbruis stood, gave her a small kiss and said, “I will clean up and join you in a minute.”
She shook her head smiling and replied, “Thanks, but a minute? Damn that superhuman speed of yours.” Charmeine went to the bedroom and opened up the window letting in the night sea breeze come in. She sat on the window seal and thought about the Elder Council and the war between the Blood-Hunters and Light-Bearers. She prayed quietly, “God, I love my family. Could you help me find a way to save them?”
As he was clearing, Tabbruis overheard her, and his heart sank. The same prayer was in his heart. However, it was their wedding night. He wanted to be with his bride. He pushed his fears of the future away and walked into the bedroom.
Charmeine smiled and came to him.
He hugged and kissed her softly.
She said, “Tabbruis I love you.”
Hugging her he said, “I love you too.”
She held his hands, and they saw the curling ribbons of light dance around them. She said, “I married you today, and you are mine.”
Tabbruis smiled and asked, “For better or for worse?”
She answered, “My love, everything doesn’t have to have a light and dark side. I believe our love is all light.”
Tabbruis said, “I am worried…”
“Shh, I’m not, because we love one another,” she said. With nothing but passion in her eyes, she untied her robe and let it fall to the floor. She ran her hands over his bare chest looking up into his eyes.
Looking into her eyes, Tabbruis took off his robe. Gently, he picked up his wife, put her on the bed and laid beside her.
With total peace and contentment, Charmeine whispered, “Make love to me Husband.”
Tabbruis kissed her.
Like an explosion went off in their blood, Tabbruis and Charmeine reached for each other in urgent need. It was passion, desire and want all rolled into one.
Breathlessly, Tabbruis kissed Charmeine up and down her neck.
She held him closer to her body.
Tabbruis answered her urgent need with his own want and came down upon her. He was so lost in his love and desire for her, he forgot about his Blood-Hunter side. He was not a Blood-Hunter who only lived for blood; he was a man, a husband who wanted his wife. He was just man who desired his mate…his light…his breath…and his joy.
Charmeine forgot about the fears of being a Light-Bearer and keeping her family safe. She wanted her husband in a very basic need of longing and yearning.
Tabbruis and Charmeine were now joining their souls together with no hesitations or doubts. As their passion rose to a fever pitch, he looked in her eyes whispered, “Semper tuus ero.”
Breathlessly she willed out of her lungs, “Semper tua ero.”
The detonation had begun. Tabbruis and Charmeine shattered their fears as they crashed together. Both of them were lost in the maximum tension of the moment and cried out in ecstasy and rapture. In one sweet moment, their connection was permanent.
Charmeine and Tabbruis belonged together and their love would be everlasting!

“ACCENDO” – Emotional snippet from the 3rd book from “THE LIGHT-BEARER SERIES” by Emily Guido
Tabbruis stopped sobbing while his head laid on Charmeine’s lifeless body. He had a smile on his face and whispered into her ear, “Thank you for coming back to me. Semper tuus ero, my love.”A brilliant luminosity started to run up and down her body. Tabbruis’ arms were tingling with electric heat. He knew this was a sign from God. She was being healed and returned to him. Tabbruis’ heart started to pump again. He muttered, “Thank you God.”
With a rush of wind and flash of light, she awoke.
Everyone gasped as they saw her body light up. They saw the wound on her head was completely healed.
She looked at Tabbruis, curved her lips in a weak smile and whispered, “I chose you and our family because you believed.” Then she turned her head passed out.
The family rushed to her.
Laura pushed through. “I’m a doctor.” She started to take rudimentary vital signs.“Let me through.” Sandra started to assist Laura.
Laura lifted the lid to Charmeine’s eye. “She’s got weak vital signs. Sandra, keep checking her vitals. I’m checking her cranium for residual damage from the GSW. Don’t move her. I need to examine if she has a visible TBI or penetrating head trauma is a wound in which the shot breached the cranium but didn’t exit.”
Tabbruis was trying to clutch her away from Laura.
Thomas grabbed his arms. “Laura is a very good physician. Charmeine is in very good hands. Be calm Brother and believe.”
Tabbruis nodded, and let her out of his grasp. ‘Believe,’ the same word Charmeine left him with. He grabbed his arms and brought them across his chest. He smelled her blood. He unclenched his fists and brought his hands down in front of him and saw the sign of the cross with her blood on the back of his hands. Tabbruis held his hands together as in a prayer. “She has sacrificed everything for me and our family. Why will she not wake up? The wound is healed.”
Laura turned to him and reasoned, “Tabbruis, I know her injury was fatal. However, the good news is that I can’t find the entrance or exit of the bullet. She’s breathing and her heart is pumping. It’s as if she was healed by some unknown force.”“Focus on that Tabbruis and let the doctor Laura work.” Dmitri put his hand on Tabbruis’ shoulder.
Dmitri, Shane and Thomas pulled Tabbruis off the ground.
“Mom is a fighter. She will be fine Dad.” Shane hugged him.
“I believe she is safe to move. I need to have more light. God, I wish I had my medical bag. Where I can give her a cursory exam?” Laura asked.
“Tabbruis take our Queen to your suite so she can rest,” Dmitri commanded. “Please everyone go to the castle through the entrance to the Grand Hall by the rose garden. Neal, Shane, Thomas and I need to set the field in order before daylight any humans see this.”
“We will start a funeral pyre in the far western corner of the field,” Neal said.
“Can someone get me a board and blankets?” Laura looked up.
“Yes doctor.” Thomas was not gone but seconds before he was back with the supplies she needed.
Laura kissed Thomas and thanked him.
Laura and Sandra began to construct a makeshift stretcher. “Sandra let’s move her slowly without any movement to our Queen’s head or spinal column.”
“Why is she not awake?” Tabbruis was worried.“I don’t know for certain without proper diagnostic equipment Tabbruis.” She turned to Sandra and ordered, “When we examine her, let’s do a GCS rating.”
“Yes doctor.”
Sandra whispered to Shane, “She will be fine. I love you,” and kissed him.
“On my count, Sandra and Tabbruis, let’s lift and move her very slowly.” Laura was adamant about keeping her head and spine immobile.
When they reached their Master Suite, they placed Charmeine on the bed. Laura and Sandra went to the ‘his and hers’ bathroom sinks and started to wash up.
Laura directed, “We need to get her out of these things and clean up her head and hair to see if the blood is covering up another wound.”
“I will do that,” Tabbruis offered.
“Tabbruis, our Queen needs to be handled without any possible movement to her head and spinal column.”
She turned to Sandra and smiled, “I assume you have had training with that?”
Sandra responded clinically, “Of course doctor.”
“Tabbruis believe me when I say our Queen is in capable hands. Please do not take this the wrong way, but let Sandra and I do our jobs. God has put us here for a reason.”
“Yeah Dad, Mom’s in good hands with us.”
“Yes I know you she is Daughter. I am in both of your debts. I just…” He was about to break down with fear and walked to the terrace with his head down. He paced within earshot.
Since it was a cold night, the door to the terrace was only open a fraction of an inch. Laura and Sandra took off Charmeine’s Kevlar suit and cleaned her up inspecting her head and body for sign of trauma.
They were about to put on her pajamas but Tabbruis went into the bathroom and handed them the rose lotion which Charmeine loved. Welling in tears, he had thin pained lips and a creased brow. “Please put some of this on her legs and arms before dressing her for bed.”Sandra uncapped the bottle. “God, it smells like Mom in a bottle.”
“Yes, Charmeine, or Mom, needs to wake up smelling like she is home.”
“She will be with us soon Dad. She’s tough and will be up and around in no time.” Sandra reached for Tabbruis’ hand and held it tightly.
