GIVEAWAY and ‘She was life’.. excerpt from “CHARMEINE” the 1st Novel in “The Light-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido

tumblr_m3el35QLnb1ql3cv0o1_500Tabbruis stood looking at the New York harbor. Even though Charleen had been asleep for a couple of hours, he did not want to leave her. He paced up and down the terrace slowly thinking of her. He was going through all the memories and images from the moment he met her. While she was sleeping, he studied her sweet face. The apparitions he had of her before they met were nothing compared to real life.
He had to admit he was enthralled by her. He wanted to make her arms his permanent home. He reveled in the thought of being with her every day. Nevertheless, he could not see how they could be together, because they were opposites. He mumbled, “How can I even tell her how I feel? How can I have a relationship with her? How can I ever make this work?”
However, he knew eventually he would have to leave her, and it would be the right thing to leave her. If they were ever together, by some miracle, they would be chased and hunted down until the ends of the Earth by the Elder Council Temple Guards and sentenced to death.
Tabbruis hung his head and acquiesced to the fact he had to make sure she was safe, and then he must leave. His heart broke in two because nothing in the world had ever made him feel so alive, not even blood. She sparked to him and him only. He thought it must mean something. His eyes started to well with tears, and his heart ached thinking about leaving her.
Now, finally after eight thousand years, he knew peace with her. When he finally separated from her, Tabbruis knew he would be in great misery. His broken heart ached to be with her. To him, she was all he wanted . . . she was life.
All of sudden, he heard a heart-wrenching scream. With superhuman speed, he sat down beside her.
She was thrashing about.
 “Charleen, wake up. It is just a dream, wake up.” He grabbed her arms.

She was still fighting in her dream. She was out of breath and sweat was pouring off of her face. Her hair was matted down to her neck with sweat.
He knew she was terrified. Her heart was practically beating out of her chest. Trying to soothe her he assured, “Charleen . . . Shh, it is only just a bad dream. Shh, everything is okay. Charleen!”
Slowly she started to come out of it. She gradually opened her eyes and focused on Tabbruis’ face above her. Immediately, she threw herself at him. She almost toppled him over. She was on his lap and hugging him so tightly, it took his breath away. Pressing her hand on his chest over and over again, she cried out, “Are you real? Are you here? Please don’t leave me!”

I wanted a gift for Christmas so bad with all my  14 year old heart.
I was sure, without a doubt, I wasn’t going to get it!
Presents were scarce in a household with eight kids
We celebrated all the Holidays with food, games, and singing carols, NOT presents.
That’s what I thought about writing this . . .

(By the way, the Timex watch I wanted was tucked inside a branch of the Christmas Tree after all. I didn’t find it until late Christmas night. I still have it to this day!)

I know nothing . . .

bright-light-feathers-blue1Did you ever feel dizzy where the room kept spinning around?
To self-promote “The Light-Bearer Series,” feels that way.  It is unbelievable how much social media you really need to do!
I learned very quickly to connect to other authors, God bless them all!  The best friends you will have as a newbie in this business are those who have walked in your worn and tattered shoes.
I never think of self-promotion as a sprint but a chance to run with the wind in my hair and see some spectacular sites a lot the way.
images (1)Self-promotion is very hard and it is like a job for me.
If there is anything I learned as an Author, even if you have a Publisher, is that YOU have to put yourself out there . . . everyday!
Now, I have had health issues and because of that, I wasn’t able to communicate on Social Media.
But I think the most important lesson I have learned in this experience is to carve out uninterrupted time to work on writing and editing.
I am working on editing and writing another novel in “The Light-Bearer Series.”
Do not multitask while writing!
You cannot think of deadlines, email, Facebook, a blog or Twitter.
In addition, take time out for yourself and get exercise.  I have to time manage everything so I can keep my head clear and focused.
BOOK REVIEWER-treasuredspotbookreviews-dotcom-resized-600To get reviews, I learned I had to be choosy.  You have to stick Blog and Reviewers with the nack for reviewing your Genre.
As a writer, you cannot let Reviewers discourage your writing process.  If you get a bad review, you have to suck it up and hope you get something beneficial from it.  Never ever answer them back, NEVER!!!  Nothing good will come of it.  However, I cannot tell you how many times I BURNED to answer them.  Especially, when they take older editions of my book and review it, when the newer editions, are READILY AVAILABLE.
So, all in all, experience has taught me that I know very little . . . nothing really compared to my compadres . . .  YOU out there!
YOU are my support!  You are my rocks!  When I have bad days, you are the one to encourage me and pat me on the back!  For that and much more, I love all of you!
I am like Schultz in Hogan’s Heros . . . I know nothing

tumblr_lbugygqnE51qb90czo1_500_thumb“Shane, I know Tabbruis was not telling us the truth,” she urgently looked him in eyes. “Something is not right. Whatever happens, you must take cover. Your father and I have powers and can protect ourselves and you. Do not interfere! Stay safe!”
Shane started to refuse.
“Promise me! I can’t lose you, Shane. Please promise me now!”
“Yeah, I promise. Chill Char, it will be fine.” Shane rolled his eyes.
Neal slowly opened the door to the limo.
Suddenly, two Blood-Hunters came out of nowhere and began to attack.
Charmeine flew out of the limo to help. In a blink, the Blood-Hunter who attacked her before grabbed her. Now, there were three Blood-Hunters.
tumblr_lciiy2v5GP1qb90czo1_400_thumbShe surprised him with a rising knee strike aimed at his chest throwing him back. Her hands lit up with white electricity. “Touch me one more time, and you are dead!” She swung a swiping kick to his jaw, and it made the Blood-Hunter turn like a top.
At the worst time possible, Shane got out of the limo.
The Blood-Hunter ran and put him in a choke hold as Shane struggled to be released.
Neal and Tabbruis were still fighting the other two Blood-Hunters.
When Tabbruis saw Shane in the Blood-Hunter’s grasp, he screamed, “NO!”
Charmeine thought the only thing she could do was to get help. She threw a shock to the Blood-Hunter battling Tabbruis.
Then he bit into the attacker’s jugular. Blood poured out of him so fast they knew he would be dead in a minute.
Seeing this, the Blood-Hunter holding Shane became angry. He twisted Shane’s head back exposing his jugular ready to bite.
Tabbruis jumped high into the air landing his boot into his face.
He let Shane go reeling from the kick.
95898553-1“Now Charmeine!” Tabbruis yelled.
She threw a powerful strand of lightning at the Blood-Hunter.
He avoided it by jumping up out of the way.
Again, she threw another lightning shock and this time, it impacted him. The white lightning penetrated his body, and he lurched in pain as smoke arose from his charred clothes.
Shane started to attack him.
“Get on the plane now, Sergeant Kelly!”
He didn’t want to retreat, but he ran into the jet looking out of a window.
Neal, Tabbruis and Charmeine stood by the plane.
The two Blood-Hunters left started to laugh. The second Blood-Hunter got out a handgun and fired off two shots at Tabbruis and Neal. With superhuman speed, they ducked to avoid the shots. During the distraction, the Blood-Hunter who attacked Charmeine at Jones Beach seized her and sunk his long fangs in her neck.
Shane ran to save his mother.
193232640232024704_mPX7rwUg_fBut Neal stopped him. “We have to battle the other Blood-Hunter! You will be their next target! Get on the plane, Shane!”
Begrudgingly, he raced back up into the plane. Char was his responsibility and damned if he wasn’t going to help her.
Tabbruis stepped forward, but Neal held him back also.
The other Blood-Hunter walked to his friend whose teeth were still in Charmeine’s neck. Still brandishing the gun, he smiled as he bragged, “This was easier than I thought it would be, Brother.”
All of a sudden, a shot rang out. The Blood-Hunter with the gun had been shot with a bullet between the eyes. As he fell back, blood poured like a small fountain out of his head.
Neal and Tabbruis looked around and saw Shane behind them holding a large fifty caliber handgun like a sharpshooter.
All three ran to the Blood-Hunter holding Charmeine.
He lifted his mouth off of her neck. “If you walk another step near me, I will drink the last of her sweet blood.”

Bio of Bernadette Marie
Berndette Marie photo copyrighted300dpiBernadette Marie has been an avid writer since the early age of 13, when she’d fill notebook after notebook with stories that she’d share with her friends. Her journey into novel writing started the summer before eighth grade when her father gave her an old typewriter. At all times of the day and night you would find her on the back porch penning her first work, which she would continue to write for the next 22 years.
In 2007—after marriage, filling her chronic entrepreneurial needs, and having five children—Bernadette began to write seriously with the goal of being published. That year she wrote 12 books. In 2009 she was contracted for her first trilogy and the published author was born. In 2011 she (being the entrepreneur that she is) opened her own publishing house, 5 Prince Publishing, and has released her own contemporary titles. She also quickly began the process of taking on other authors in other genres.
In 2012 Bernadette Marie began to find herself on the bestsellers lists of iTunes, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble to name a few. She has held the #1 positions on Amazon and iTunes for Romance, Contemporary Romance, and all eBooks.
Bernadette spends most of her free time driving her kids to their many events—usually hockey. She is also an accomplished martial artist with a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. An avid reader, she enjoys contemporary romances with humor and happily ever afters.

Excerpt of Love Songs:
Could the sun possibly be any hotter, or brighter, or…
Warner’s brakes screeched as he came to a stop at the stoplight he’d nearly run though. The glare from the hood of his Ford was blinding. The sweat on his neck was annoying. And the fact that he’d just been told he had no talent, well that was pissing him off.
He had talent. He had a butt-load of talent. Warner Wright had performed on every stage in Nashville. Oh, he’d performed with some of the biggest names when they were begging for a job.
He let out a breath. So why had he been passed up?
Oh he knew why!
The reputation of his family came long before he started trying to sell his songs. One thing about being the ex-stepson of Patricia Little, was all of Nashville knew she was trouble. And even if you were a thirty year old man, and you hadn’t had the woman in your life since your own father committed suicide when you were twelve, those things stick in the minds of some. It didn’t help that after his father’s death, she married a little bigger—a little richer—and soon she’d made it into the bed of The Ox, Harley Oxbury. The only problem was he was Nashville royalty—and married to Nashville royalty. The legend was when Christine Eaden found out about Harley and Patricia she put a shotgun to his head and threatened to dis-“member” him.
Did it matter to the world that his ex-stepmother took down one of Nashville’s icons? Oh, yeah. The Ox lost his career. Record companies didn’t want him anymore. The public didn’t want to see his shows. There wasn’t a product willing to put his name out front. Patricia Little had ruined the icon and her reputation, twenty years later, she was tarnishing his.
Perhaps he needed to change his name.
That was stupid. His name was fine. The woman was only his step mother for two years. By now the town should have forgotten the men she left in her path. Well they probably would have if she hadn’t gone on TV and done one of those reality shows where Warner’s picture was prominently displayed on her mantel as some kind of trophy of the husbands and “other’s” children she left in her wake. And hadn’t he asked the producers to take that down? Only a million times.
Well, some people were meant to be on stage and some in the behind the scenes. The guitar on the passenger seat was a reminder that he was one of them.
Although Jordan Farr, the head of Master Records, told him if he could get a voice to back up his music, maybe the world would start to see past his relation to Patricia Little. That had been the most positive feedback he’d received yet.
nashvilleThe light turned green and Warner eased off the clutch and onto the gas. The truck hiccupped and then picked up speed.
But in Nashville afternoon traffic, he didn’t make it far. Warner eased to a stop at the next light.
He could hear the music which the city had been built on. It poured out of the stores and the bars. But this music was closer and the voice wasn’t Carrie Underwood’s or Miranda Lambert’s. No this was fresh, sweet, original, and very close.
Warner turned his head to the right and spotted a woman in a Jeep tapping her fingers on the steering wheel. The song wasn’t one he’d heard on the radio. It wasn’t a karaoke cut either. No, she was singing to someone’s music, and she was magnificent.
She turned her head as if she might have felt his stare. Her dark hair was pulled back in a ponytail. The aviator glasses shielding her eyes reflected his beat-up blue pickup truck.
She stopped singing and smiled. And it wasn’t just any smile. It was the kind that came with a wink, if he could have seen her eyes.
That moment nearly stopped his heart, just as her voice had. If he had her by his side then the doors of this town would open up to him.
The woman eased through the intersection and turned right at the next light.
He had to follow.
Warner checked his mirrors and quickly changed lanes. It was a close call with a Mustang, of all things, and the driver flipped him the middle finger. But he had to keep her in his sight.
He made a right, but her Jeep wasn’t on the street.
“Damn!” He smacked the steering wheel.
But just then he saw the Jeep. The woman was climbing out of it.
Warner made a U-turn, again causing a car to blare its horn at him and a driver to flip him off. The heat must be getting to everyone. They were all in such a nasty mood.
She’d parked in front of a theater and was jogging up the steps.
Warner screeched to a halt in the middle of the street and pulled his brake. The woman turned around on the steps of the theater and stopped.
He climbed across the bench seat to the passenger door and hung his head out the window.
“Hey,” he yelled like some back woods yokel.
“Hey, yourself.” She had an accent. She was native and that might be iffy. If she grew up in Nashville then she knew all about the shame of his family. But he’d let that find its own moment. This one was his.
“I’m not stalking you. I swear.”
“If you say so,” she said slowly, but she didn’t make a move toward the street and he didn’t blame her.
“I heard you singing. You’re freaking amazing.”
She laughed and her ponytail waved behind her. “I appreciate that.”
“No, really. I know what I’m talking about.” He tried to open the door, but it wasn’t going so well.
She’d taken another step toward the door. He was losing her.
“Wait. I want to talk to you.” Finally he managed the handle and nearly fell out of the truck, which he’d left running
The woman had made it to the top of the steps and gripped the knob on the front door of the theater.
“I’m not crazy. Please hear me out,” he was begging, but at least common sense had kicked in enough and he stopped moving toward her. “I’m a song writer. I’m looking for a voice.”
The woman nodded slowly, but she didn’t make any more moves to run away. That was a positive sign, wasn’t it?
“What’s your name?” she called down to him.
“Warner. Warner Wright.”
“Warner Wright the song writer? Cute.”
“No, that’s really my name.” He took one step further toward the curb. “You have an amazing voice.”
She looked at the watch on her wrist then back up at him. “You gathered that from hearing me in my truck?”
“Yes.”
Again, she nodded slowly. “Listen, I’m going to be late. If you want to come in and sit that’s fine. But I’m out of time for talking on the street.”
She opened the door to the theater and walked inside.
Warner started for the door and then the grumbling of his truck caught his attention. God, was he this desperate?
He hurried back to the truck, climbed in, and parked it down the street.
Clara locked her purse up in her aunt’s office and headed for rehearsal. The man in the street had scared the hell out of her at first, but she’d lived in Nashville her whole life. Every song writer thought they had what it took to make it big. Some of them got desperate enough to hunt down talent. But she’d never heard of this approach.
He hadn’t come inside. Perhaps he’d given up. All the same, she had her cell phone in her pocket. The theater had once been gutted by fire because of a psycho man. She didn’t care to see that repeated.
On the stage was a small ensemble waiting for her arrival. Behind them, the set to West Side Story was being repositioned for the weekend’s production.
“Thought you gave up on us,” Duke shouted from the piano. “You only have four shows left. Don’t give up now,” he laughed.
“The only reason I wouldn’t show up is because it’s too damn hot in here,” she said as she made it to the side of the stage. She walked up the stairs and joined the others.
Duke gave her a nod. “Let’s just take it from the top and work the songs. Arianna wants these last four shows to be sharp.”
They had only started the first song when the door opened and Warner walked into the theater. Why she thought he might be a threat she didn’t know because looking at him now she thought he looked like the biggest nerd she’d ever seen.
His jeans were worn, his shirt was untucked, and his thick blond hair was messed up something awful. More than likely he’d been driving all day with his windows down.
He’d helped himself to a seat in the back and just listened as they practiced. Well, she thought, if he liked what he heard in the car wait till he heard her sing as Maria.
Warner wondered how long he’d sat in that theater, alone. He was familiar with the musical—very familiar. They’d just finished the number Somewhere. Damn, he’d listened to nearly the entire musical. But that voice. She had the goods!
“She’s something, huh?”
Warner jumped in his seat and looked at the man next to him. Quickly he got to his feet. “Um, yes. She’s amazing.”
“That’s my niece.”
“She has a fantastic voice.” Warner turned to the man and held out his hand. He didn’t want this man to think he was crazy. “I’m Warner Wright. I’m a song writer. I heard her sing in the street and wanted to talk to her.”
The man nodded. “John Forrester.” He turned and looked at the woman he’d followed into the theater. “She doesn’t know you?”
“No, sir. But I’m not stalking her. I just wanted to talk to her about singing.”
John nodded slowly again and pulled his hand back. “She’s trained with a gun.”
Warner swallowed hard. “Most women in Tennessee are, sir.”
That made John laugh. “True enough.” He patted Warner on the shoulder. “She’s almost through.”
He gave him a smile and then looked toward the stage and gave his niece a glance. A million words were said between them in that moment, he wondered what they were.
Warner sat back down in his seat and listened as they finished the rest of the show.
To say he was moved would be an understatement. A piano and a dozen voices could do amazing things.
When the group stood up they all began to talk. This was a family, a musical family. One brought together by a common love and the current show they produced together.
It had been years since Warner was in musical theater, but you never forgot the feeling.
The woman he’d followed walked away from the group and was headed toward him. Her thumbs were tucked into the front pockets of her cutoff jeans.
The eyes that had hid behind the shiny aviators, which were now hung from the front of her tank top, were dark brown.
Warner quickly stood.
“You followed me all the way in here and listened to rehearsal?” Her accent was drawn out.
“Yes. I have to say, you’re amazing.”
The woman nodded slowly, just as her uncle had done. “You’ve said that, but thank you.” She looked down at her bare toes in the sandals she wore and wiggled them. The middle ones had rings on them. “Is that all you wanted to tell me?”
“Yes. No. I—is there somewhere we can talk?”
She looked around. “What’s wrong with here?”
“Right. Listen, I’m a song writer and I’m looking for a voice to demo my work.”
“And you’re looking for lessons?”
Warner raked his fingers through his hair. It was getting much too long. He looked down at his attire. God, she must think I’m a hobo.
“No. I’m not looking for lessons. I’m looking for someone to do the vocals.”
“And you want me to do that?”
He smiled. Finally they were on the same page. “Yes.”
“I see. Mr. Wright, I’m very busy with the theater right now. I just don’t…”
“Would you just look at them?” He was so desperate he was hunting down strangers to sing his songs. This was embarrassing. “Please. Maybe just a few hours with me and you could see what you think.”
“You don’t even know my name.”
He dropped his shoulders. He was desperate.
He held out his hand to shake hers. “Again, I’m Warner Wright.”
She smiled and took his hand. Her grip was firm. There was no messing around with this one. “Clara Keller.”
“Ms. Keller, I would appreciate a moment of your time to show you my work.”
She pulled her hand back, tucked it into her back pocket and gave him a regarding look.
“Do you know where the Riverside Building is?”
He raised his eyebrow. “Doesn’t everyone? This is Nashville.”
She chuckled. “There is a Starbucks on the main floor. I’ll meet you there tomorrow at ten.”
“Tomorrow at ten. Starbucks. Riverside Building.”
“Will that work?”
He nodded. “Thank you. Can I take you out for a drink tonight? No business, just get to know you?”
Clara pulled her phone out of her back pocket. “Thanks, but I have one guilty pleasure and its on TV tonight.”
A bead of sweat rolled down the back of his neck. He forced a smile. “What might that be?”
nashville (1)“Reality TV at its worst. Every heard of Nashville Ex-wives Club?”
He knew the blood had just drained out of his head. Damn if he fainted this would be over.
“I’ve heard of it.”
“Never miss a one. That Little woman is such trash she makes me laugh. But I’ll see you tomorrow. Ten.”
He only nodded as Clara left the theater.
Well, this was over. Once Clara found out about his connection with Patricia Little she too would exit stage left.
Warner left the theater just in time to see a tow truck drive away with his pickup.
It was official—Nashville hated him.

Charmeine’s arms extended and her feet came off the ground. She looked like a large electric butterfly.
Everyone gasped with astonishment.
She flew over them going to one end of the terrace and back about twenty feet off the ground. Her butterfly arms lit up with a bright white light. In a big booming voice from Heaven she exclaimed, “I am God’s Holy Instrument, a Light-Bearer! I am on Earth to fight for justice and send Lucifer’s children to Hell! No shadows will ever block the Son!”
A crackle of thunder boomed, making each person jump.
Charmeine made lightning come down from the sky surrounding the terrace, like an electrical jail. The smell of electric current blew through the air. She started to float down slowly.
With a flash of lightning, Charmeine and Sandra became normal. They looked at each other stunned. Then, they hugged while laughing.
The men stood in awe.
DmitriDmitri’s eyes were wide with excitement, and he shouted with great joy, “Thank God! The Prophecy is fulfilled! I see it all now! The Prophecy of God . . . is upon Charmeine!”
Everyone looked at Dmitri in puzzlement.
However, Tabbruis was not looking at Dmitri. His heart was racing, and he gazed at Charmeine with fear and anxiety.
Dmitri cried out, “The Prophecy says the Queen of Light will sit on the throne, the King of Night will fight as her Champion, and their family will rule the Elders with truth, wisdom and justice!”
tumblr_m5vv7z80Mv1qg9gt6o1_250“No! Dmitri! It cannot be . . . She cannot not the Queen of Light!”
“Tabbruis, God’s will be done, not yours.” Dmitri bowed in front of Charmeine.
It seemed the air was knocked out of Tabbruis’ lungs, and he tried to control the absolute dread in his heart. He thought, The Prophecy is to be carried out by my family? Charmeine is supposed to fight Evil? His head was spinning. For in his heart, he knew what Dmitri said was true. He was overwhelmed with fear and dread. Charmeine is the Queen of Light, and I am the King of Darkness and Night, he thought, It cannot be.
Dmitri held up his hands and yelled, “Praise Be to God! Finally the Elder Council will be destroyed!” All of sudden, his face went black with foreboding, and he said, “Oh my children, the Prophecy says there will be great suffering, and a battle which will be tragic and bloody.” He turned slowly and went up the stairs leading to the Ball Room.
Everyone was baffled and tried to process the last few minutes.
However, Tabbruis felt like his shoulders had a thousand pound weight on them. His wife was the Queen of Light. His charge was to Champion and support her.
Then Dmitri turned around and said in a commanding voice, “Practice to do battle with the Elder Council begins tonight on the lawn at sunset. I suggest everyone rest,” looking at Charmeine and Sandra, “you will need it.”

Always remember you are never alone.
Whatever religion you are or what your situation is . . .
I believe there are Gaurdians there with you.
Angels or Spirits or whatever
Love this song, and I think of Charmeine’s Battle cry when I hear it!
Lots of love and peace, Emily

imagesCAGVBEFZHer hand was sending him her usual white light. “This is just Heaven. I wish I could stay with you like this, just on this little beach until the end of time.”
Tabbruis laughed, “I would like nothing better, but I would make one correction.”
“Oh yeah? This beach is about as perfect as they come and the cabanas are like apartments.”
Tabbruis turned on his side, felt the material of her swim suit and answered in a sultry low voice, “This should be outlawed.”
“I take it you have a problem with my wardrobe?”
“Actually, when I saw you walk out of the cabana, I was jealous of how it twisted around your body. . . ”  Then, he made sexy sigh, “You see . . . that is what I would like to do.”
Fire burned in her cheeks as they turned a deep red, and she began to breathe harder. “This is a beach,” and began to look around.
With a look of unrestrained desire, “My love . . . it is a private beach.” His hand started to caress her shoulder and neck.
Fountains_of_Wayne-Fountains_of_Wayne_(album_cover)“Oh really?” She smiled and said teasingly, “Well, the only thing missing from this wonderful beach is music. I don’t suppose you have any Blink-182, Fountains of Wayne, or Lady GaGa to listen to?”
Tabbruis shook his head while chuckling, “You may think that is music but . . . NO!”
“So Tabbruis, I see it all now. Not married a day and already putting down my peeps,” she teasingly smirked.
“I do have some music. I can let you listen to it while we eat.”
With a questioning look, she whispered “Intriguing.”
They walked into the Cabana and put on robes.
He opened Champagne. As they were enjoying a glass, he turned on the stereo system, put down their glasses and reached for her hand. Her sparks were flying up his arm.
She's got a wayShe’s Got a Way” by Billy Joel started to play.
Tabbruis held Charmeine close while he drew her in his big arms and began to dance her around the room.
She blushed all over her body.
He whispered in her ear, “While I listened to this song, I decided to go to the concert where we met. This is the song was performed when we were on the ground looking up at the stars recovering from the attack. This song is about you, Charmeine. You have a way of making me feel happy for the first time in my life.”
She was speechless and started to well in tears.
Tabbruis held her tightly as they danced. They swayed back and forth to the music.
Charmeine and Tabbruis 1When the song was done, she looked up at him. “Let’s lay in the sun some more. Night will be upon us soon, and I want to soak up the day.”
Tabbruis nodded, “Of course.”
She kissed him, turned to go out to the beach. “See you out there,” and left.
Keeping his eyes peeled on her as she went to the blanket to layout, he said, “How right you are, Charmeine. How right you are. Darkness and danger will be all around us . . . very soon.”

NO ONE knows this . . .
When I got the idea of this story,
I was listening to this song.
I always loved Billy Joel.
Matter of fact, this song is not my favorite of his, but this song described Charmeine to a tee in her love, honesty, devotion and complete fierceness to protect her family.
So folks, “The Light-Bearer Series” and Charmeine and Tabbruis
came to life in my head with this song . . .
Enjoy!
Lots of love and peace, Emily

1 Charmeine
I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.
Firstly I would like to thank Emily Guido, author of Charmeine, for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.
OH.MY.GOSH! I loved it, totally! This story is great and will tempt any readers because this book has true love and the struggle to live with it which I think everyone likes.
Tabbruis is to die for handsome and a blood hunter vampire whereas we have Charleen who is a light bearer angel and guess what they fall in love when they meet while Tabbruis saves Charleen from other blood hunters who attacked her.
Yup you guessed it right, both of the blood hunters and light bearers are enemies and want to destroy each other whereas here we have our hero and heroine who enter the world of forbidden love and will struggle against their own to have one another and save their love.
Where ever there is forbidden love you’ll find me there, just kidding! I love reading books regarding true love and the fight to save it well if you are in my team then this is the ‘IT’ book for you.

Dream of Horror… excerpt from “MACTUS” the 2nd book of “The Light-Bearer Series” by Emily Guido

136515432424157204_9ePWhm6G_fAs Charmeine appeared in Tabbruis’ dream, she was being carried away in darkness.
He saw her being tortured on the ‘Altar of Judgment’ lying helpless and defenseless.
Tabbruis was being held by the Elder Temple Guards doing everything he could to get to her.

3x07_0510

He screamed in horror as the Elder walked over to her with his fangs exposed and leaned down . . .

~~~~~~~
Tabbruis tossed his head back and forth, roused himself out of sleep and ran to the bathroom to check on Charmeine, but she was gone. He looked around and saw her clothes were on the bathroom floor with a used bath towel. The shoes she wore were gone. His throat tightened, and he became very alarmed. Quickly, he ran out the bedroom and down the hallway.
stock-footage-man-runs-into-the-dark-concrete-tunnel-from-the-glowing-endHe opened the door to their castle wing and stood on the front entry staircase landing. He reached out with his senses and felt her heart beating which made him instantly relieved.
Very soft music was coming from the Grand Hall downstairs. As he started down the steps, Tabbruis heard Dmitri whisper, “Charmeine is in the Grand Hall playing the piano.” He saw Dmitri standing by the door to his wing of the castle.
He nodded and began to head down the stairs.
Dmitri whispered, “Charmeine will surrender, Brother. I am sorry. She will not fight.”
Tabbruis’ heart erupted in pain! He felt like a two ton truck had hit him. “Charmeine is strong. We will be a family as God intended us to be. She will fight for our family.”
john_abraham-27“Ah yes, your family is set as God planned it to be on the dreadful day of the battle in Heaven. However, Charmeine is a Light-Bearer; she is a light of God. This woman is like the Son. She will sacrifice herself for her family. Tabbruis, my brother, look into your heart. Do you believe she will let you suffer for her? Do you believe she will let anyone suffer for her? The love in her heart is too strong.”
Tabbruis hung his head and replied with despair, “Dear God, how could you do this to my family again? I just found Charmeine, and you want to take her away from me and our son?”
He could hear music from the Grand Hall, and it was so beautiful.
Thoughts of Charmeine’s tortured face from his nightmare raced in his memory, and he began to tear hiding it from Dmitri. No way could he survive losing her all over again.
tumblr_m565e8km6p1rxtnc6o1_500Sitting on the stair with his head in his hands, he whispered, “I have seen it Dmitri. I know what you say is true. I cannot bear to go on without her. I would rather die with her than to be without her. I have waited eight thousand years for Charmeine and God be damned if she will be taken away from me again.”
I always loved this song
always . . .
It shows the strength that a pure love has.
And the lyrics and voice are haunting!
What’s Up? Is this . . . me?
Me a littleOkay, granted this is a personal post
I wanted to let my friends know what was happening . . .
300_62450
I’m down 60 pounds with 73 pounds to go.
This being said, all sorts of stuff is hitting the fan.
downloadFirst, same old problem of getting my 80 grams of protein down. But I have found a GNC product that I am able to tolerate pretty well, GNC Lean Shake. It tastes at the very least, tolerable and it’s chuck full of protein with only 170 calories.
Now, I have been saved by my friend in my Gastric Bypass Support group, she has given me a truck load of clothes that I can wear since I have gone from a size 30 to 18.  My other clothes were hanging off of me.  With the new and stylish clothes, I have a renewed a fashion interest.
I have begun to put on wear contact and put on makeup everyday and dress in her beautiful donated clothes.  When I get to little for them.  I will donate them to another person in my group.
However, with that being said, I have now come to the ugly part of this process.
how-to-get-rid-of-body-dysmorphic-disorder
fat . . .
and never going to be able to lose that image.
The one, I still see in the mirror.
That particular feeling sucks because you put your body through hell to make yourself healthy, but your MIND is still unhealthy.
body_imageNot only is your mind saying, “NEVER will you be healthy, pretty, happy with yourself.”
It still wants all the things that your body will never be able to tolerate!  For instance, I will never be able to tolerate sitting on a Sunday afternoon watching NFL Football and enjoy beer and my famous ‘Death by Nachos’!
OR Drink a gallon of coffee before going to work to wake me up after writing all night. (That was the only way I wrote Seditious and Ransom  . . . coffee infusions)
OR tolerate making my wonderful homemade spaghetti or chocolate chip cookies.
Never on a snowy day will I be able to make my infamous ‘Sizzlin’ Hot Chocolate’ with chunks of melted Swiss chocolate.
Good Choice, Bad Choice Road Sign with blue sky and clouds.
Either stick with the program or get sick.  NO more if’s and or but’s!
weightlossNO more deals I made with myself that I would diet tomorrow, if I cheated today. No . . . nothing . . . just compliance and that’s FINAL! I will check in every once in while with you all and let you know how it is going.
With all my bitching, I do thank God that I had this done.  I’m no longer diabetic.
I no longer am sure that I was going to have a heart attack before I was 60.
I can now live without the fear or dying of being morbidly obese.
Take care and lots of love to you all. I thank God for my friends and fellow bloggers who are my support everyday.
I will be there for you too. I support you and care about my friends.  This video is for you my loves.
HAPPY SUNDAY!!!
PEACE AND LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!
