Calm before the storm . . . SEDITIOUS is coming soon

In the beginning of the 4th book, SEDITIOUS, you will read Charmeine and Tabbruis were settling down together. I love Charmeine’s bad jokes, it cracks me up. She knows Tabbruis is so serious. Making him laugh with silly jokes brings her joy.

Later in the night, after another bout of nausea, Charmeine came out of the bathroom. “I think we are going to have to buy a truckload of toothpaste,” she joked.
“Gel or paste?” Tabbruis inquired as he laid in the bed
“Paste, always paste,” she chuckled, as she took off her robe and slid under the covers.
“That might be a deal-breaker.” His eyes followed her. “You must be the most beautiful woman in the world.”
“I already won the argument, remember? Or do you need reminding again?”
He laughed. “Charmeine, rest is what I need, and you do too.” He held out his arm and patted his chest.
She snuggled next to him, laid her head on his chest and listened to his steady heartbeat.
He wrapped his arms securely around her.
“What did the pregnant Light-Bearer ask the Blood-Hunter?” she asked with a yawn.
“What?” His eyes half closed ready to doze off.
“Do you have storm insurance?”
Tabbruis’ eyes flew open, and he burst out laughing. “I cannot believe it. That joke is really awful and incredibly bad, Charmeine.”
“Ah, but you’re laughing, aren’t you?” She laid her head back down on his chest with a chuckle.
“I laugh always with you, Charmeine, my lovable, crazy, and precious wife.”
“What would you do without my bad jokes?”
“Sleep,” he answered with a sigh and laugh.
She rolled her eyes and snuggled onto his chest. His laugh was a great comfort to her.
Suddenly, Tabbruis felt Baby Hunter move against his side. “Charmeine, did you feel that?”
“Yes, little Baby Hunter here is very active and likes to hear you laugh. Every time you do, the baby kicks.”
“I do not believe that, Charmeine.” However, he smiled at the thought it was possible.
“Why wouldn’t Baby Hunter flip when you laugh? I do. I always have since the first day we met.”
He kissed her forehead. “Alright, my love, you can tell me bad jokes anytime. They seem the best for making me laugh.”
“Good, because that’s all I know,” she sighed with a smile.
He held her closer and put his hand on her belly to feel Baby Hunter move. He reached out with his Blood-Hunter senses, heard both her heartbeat and the baby’s, and beamed.
“Semper tuus ero, Charmeine.”
She whispered, “Semper tua ero, Tabbruis.”
(I am forever yours.)

Deepest Fear . . .

 

What’s an Author’s deepest fear?
Fear of writing a bad story? Fear that people won’t like the manuscript? Fear of losing ideas or momentum?
Simply, could it be fear of expressing your thoughts and exposing your subconscious?
What is going in the Author’s mind when they write?
I’ve got a movie in my head driving me to write and wonder all the time about the creative process.
I admit it.
I love my stories, even the ones that I have written outlines for on the back burner of a melting pot mind and computer . . . ALL DIFFERENT!
I’ve got a deep fear that I’m off the rails because my characters and story burn in my gut until I type it.
Right now, I’m working on Conundrum the sixth novel in The Light-Bearer Series, and re-editing Charmeine, Mactus, and Accendo.
PDMI Publishing will soon be releasing the fourth novel, Seditious!  For more thrills, Ransom is coming in 2015.
My stories are ramblings of an intensely romantic and crazy mind. Can an Angelic Light-Bearer and Hellish Blood-Hunter who are total opposites, save the world with their love and acceptance?
When I began writing with Charmeine, I purposely wrote a ton of back-story in the beginning of it because I wanted to show how in the world these two really opposites could ever attract. They learn how to survive on their own but Tabbruis and Charmeine both know something is missing. Something is not right. They yearn for their mate but cannot even imagine anyone who could be for them.
I love my hero, Tabbruis Hunter, King of the Blood-Hunters. He is the perfect male. . . hubba, hubba. Tabbruis is a gorgeous goof – kind of inept… but loves Charrmeine dearly with all his heart. He’s an inhuman character with human frailties and flaws.
Charmeine Hunter, (aka Charleen), Queen of the Light-Bearers, is a spunky, plain speaking, wacky, and immensely accepting Angel. She’s talented and beautiful, but also with a depth of love which pours out of her heart.
My genre of Paranormal Romance with Vampires and Angles tends to not to follow the lore. The Light-Bearer Series is diverse and complicated. It engulfs many genres.
I don’t know what I could compare the series to, because I have never seen my kind of books before. It’s got dark and light characters in it with very human attributes.So human, that you get carried away and see the possibilities of a castle in Romania which has a loving family battling Evil. They make bad jokes and tease each other. However, the family at the Castle Charmeine are loving, humble, accepting, beautiful, and strong.
Most of my characters have gone through Earth’s history, and it is so interesting listening to their eye-witness encounters.
I’m amazed the way this family has grown on me! On us, my readers! The fact that the characters are so human in their in-humanness, make the books relatable.
What’s my deepest fear?
I’m worried I won’t be able to write all the magical and wonderful ramblings I have in my head.

The Evil Bathsheba

Darkness waits in the shadows, by the name of Bathsheba.
A flutter of her eyelashes is able to make Tabbruis and Dmitri lose their minds.
Tabbruis defends Bathsheba and tries to attack Charmeine, and their unborn child.
Overwhelmed by jealousy and feelings betrayal Charmeine flees the castle.
Alone and without money, she does her best to protect and provide for her baby and prepare for upcoming war against Lord Cromwell.
Meanwhile, Tabbruis is at Castle Charmeine cooing over Bathsheba and fighting with Dmitri over who will have her heart.
Dmitri’s daughter tells them both Bathsheba belongs to Lucifer, and she threatened Charmeine’s baby.

Tabbrius realizes he’s been clouded by Bathsheba’s EVIL and DEADLY charms.

Finally, Tabbruis realizes that he’s betrayed Charmiene.
Seditious is face-paced and full of heartbreak.
Charmeine is always under attack, either physically or emotionally.
Her enemies are those who she loves the most and those she hates the most.
Will Charmeine find happiness by the end of Seditious?

Solace on 9/11 . . .

I woke up this morning with a sigh.
I wanted to shut my eyes and not remember the horrible pictures of death and destruction which had happened.  
I went to the coffee maker and made a cup of strong coffee.  As the day of the attack, I was at work and doing the same thing, trying to wake up.
I hung my head and a shed tear.
I thought about this passage in my novels, and it gave me solace and comfort.  
Let me say, I ‘m not a spiritual person.  I don’t think I have a Godly bone in my body. However, I know there’s a Higher Power and that helps me.
We may not know why this horrible thing happened on 9/11 . . . but to accept the good and evil.  
I thank God or the Higher Power for the great and good gifts given me everyday. That is reason I am comforted.  
I hope this brings some small bit of peace.

“Better now?” Lord Cromwell patted Charmeine’s back.
She nodded.
He took the glass and put it on the coffee table.
Charmeine was in awe he was kind to her. “Uriel was good, and Cromwell, you are . . . evil.”
“That is where your black and white philosophy of the world fail you, Angel. What makes you think that my works have NOT created a higher consciousness in humanity?”
He moved the glass to the other side of the coffee table and sat directly in front of Charmeine looking her in the eyes. “Do humans not band together in times of need and strife? Does humanity not rise to overcome death and destruction? You do not realize the darkest times have brought God’s light and love to the forefront. God knows this. You said earlier, God knows everything, and I know He does, absolutely. But there is always free will.”
“Cromwell, you have caused so much death, destruction, pain and heartache . . .”
“Yes Angel, but I am part of His design. How can you be so black and white in your thinking when you have witnessed one of the most hideous and insidious acts portrayed on humanity in millennia on 9/11?”
“You?” she asked with terror in her eyes.
“No! NEVER!” he vehemently replied. He looked hurt as he gazed into her eyes. He shook his head in disgust. “That act was senseless and horrible. Humanity all over the Earth came together and screamed to God in a shout of alarm. God heard their prayers, thoughts, fears and woes.”
He shook his head and ran his fingers back through his long blonde hair. “God is omnipotent, but there is a grand design which only God knows. No Angels, not even Archangels has knowledge of what God knows. We only know bits and pieces of God’s grand design. But you have to realize everything on Earth, Heaven and Hell are part of His design . . . even I have a purpose.”
“So, you didn’t?”
“No. Angel, that pointless deed was portrayed with free will,” he said as he gently touched her forearm.
Lord Cromwell touched her cheek and sighed at the feel of her skin under his fingers. “I have had a purpose all along. You, my Angel, only see the black in my assignment, but believe me, there are more shades of grey than you know in my mission. God knows all, and we may struggle to find the purpose, but we cannot.”

Personal Post . . . violence is violence

Hello everyone,
This is a rather revealing and personal post.  I never would share this with the public, but I feel I need to reach out.
Domestic violence is different from any kind of violence known to us.
It’s personal – deeply shocking – and extremely complicated.
I was a victim of Domestic Violence for several years.
I am not ashamed of it anymore. However, I was ashamed – very much so. I felt I was weak and not worthy of a good life. Victims often feel that way.  Victims feel that there is no way out. Victims feel powerless . . . HELPLESS!
Like I said, the psychology of Domestic Violence is complicated and intricate.
I won’t bore you about the facts of my situation.
However, I want to impart on you one thing – VIOLENCE is VIOLENCE – no matter how you stack it up.
More and more people want to turn their heads and stay out of people’s relationship because it is messy and uncomfortable.
If someone punches a stranger out – that someone is treated with the laws that govern our land.
Conversely, in a Domestic Violence case – it’s thorny, difficult and problematic.  Otherwise known as not something the Police, Courts, family and friends DO NOT want to get in the middle of.
I don’t know what it will take for people to understand.

The song below LUKA gave me some solace when I was in therapy.  It touches on how Domestic Violence feels.
Reach out - someone you know is going through this right now.
Isn’t it time we all stop being scared of getting into other people’s lives?
Isn’t it time we stood up for those who can’t?

Synopsis of SHATTERED HEARTS:
Jess lost her family when the plagues came, but gained a new one when she married Ian. Pregnant with another man’s baby, Jess and her new family travel through the vast labyrinth of cemeteries searching for the Promised Land.
Surrounded by the unknown will they get there before the baby arrives?
SHATTERED HEARTS Snippet:
As we near the boardwalk, I can see the weathered buildings. The salt water has bleached the wood, which makes every building look white like the driftwood on the beach. The lights paint the buildings with a tie-dye effect. We see groups of survivors standing around the outside of several of them. Behind them, and in the center is a huge hotel. It looks as if this was once a resort. All eyes are on us as we approach them, and I am not sure if they are curious or hostile. We will find out soon enough.

Tell us about the premise of your books?
If everyone you knew, everything you have, everything that was, is gone. No governments, no police, no adults. Think of yourself as a sixteen year old girl who has lost her family and is living alone in this world. That is the premise of the books Broken Earth and Shattered hearts.
Where did I find inspiration for these books that tell a true to life story of a viral apocalypse wiping out the human population?
I pulled from many things, my fascination with cemeteries, abandoned buildings that I saw on my travels, and a video by a good friend who’s a musician. Throw all of that into the mixing bowl and you have the world my characters live in.
How was this series created?
The story came to life in a dream I had after watching my good friend Doreen Taylor’s video for her song “Judgement Day.” I dream vividly, in full color and I remember my dreams.  When I woke up the next morning, I started writing and didn’t stop until book one, Broken Earth was done.

Why cemeteries?
I’ve always had a fascination with old cemeteries. You can see how the headstones fill the yard, and how the new sections grew up as people died. I thought what if, the death industry grew so much that there was no room for anything but cemeteries. It was surreal.
Who would your dream cast be for this if it were made into a movie?
Jess would be played by Jennifer Lawrence
Ian would be played by Kevin Zegers
Lucie would be played by my daughter who was the inspiration for Lucie
Mollie would be played by Vanessa Stacey
Ash could be played by Jamie Campbell Bower or Jake Abel

How are you doing?  I’m finishing MBA school this week and my book, SEDITIOUS, (The 4th Book in The Light-Bearer Series) is coming out!

I’m so happy that my MBA is going to be done, I’ve lost about a 150 pounds this year and my 4th book is about to come out.  I’m pretty excited!

First of all, let me say how excited I was to read The Light-Bearer Series again, this is the fourth book.
I love this series because it’s about “Family” whether it be real family or close friends . . . if you live at the Castle Charmeine, you are family!

Bathsheba

We are introduced to Bathsheba in this book.
She has been seducing Tabbruis and Dimitri for centuries with her alluring looks.
I love the name Charmeine gave Bathsheba (Bath-Bitch, LOL).
Tabbruis and Dmitri thought Bathsheba was dead, until her visit to the Castle Charmeine.
What Tabbruis and Dimitri do when they see her just about destroys their families. I was really angry with them.

Percival  –  Dimitri and Hera’s son

Athena  –  Dmitri and Hera’s daughter

Percival and Athena, Dimitri and Hera’s children, are growing up. The family is wondering what kind of powers they have.
The family at Castle Charmiene need every ounce of power between them to beat the demon that’s after Charmeine and Baby Hunter.
Charmeine, the Queen of The Light-Bearers, wants the Blood-Hunters and Light-Bearers to come together to run the Elder Council and the Elder Council Prison.

Shane, Charmeine and Tabbruis’ son, proves how awesome his power is. Sandra, his wife, is right by his side. Full of kick butt, power throwing Light-Bearers and Blood-Hunters.
I’m impressed with The Light-Bearer Series. The author does a awesome job from one book to the next by keeping her characters and the plot moving.
These characters have become part of me while reading, and I don’t want them to leave my head. I find myself fighting along side them, cheering them on. I get mad, sad, happy, and anxious to turn the page.
I definitely recommend this series!!
