Help!
When I ask for help, it always comes with anxiety and even distress in some cases.I’m not talking about help like asking hubby to take out the trash or asking for donations to a charity for a 5K walk/run.
No, the help I’m talking about is personal. It is about my passion, my little shop in my brain.
I need to promote the pre-sale of Seditious my fourth book in The Light-Bearer Series.
So I have asked everyone I could think of to share Seditious.
I could hire a blog tour, but they are pricey.
Some friends that I contacted immediately said, YES! Their responses made my heart light and was warmed by their encouragement.
Some friends did not answer.Which is probably meant to say, no.
It made me wonder.
Like lightning, I realized that . . .
The help I am asking for has to matter to the person I asked.
That’s what eluded me during my sleepless night.
When I ask hubby to take out the trash, he does it, because he knows he’s a part of the family unit. Doing chores is part of being in a family.
When I ask for a donation for a 5K, that person does it with the hope a cure will be found.
So, what I have found is that my asking for help has to matter to you!
I will gladly feature your book or blog. This goes for everyone . . . even if you help me or not! Everyone is welcome. That’s what Pay it Forward Friday is for, to give to you some recognition for your passion!
It’s sort of cool because it’s Karma. And if you know me at all, I am a strong believer in Karma.
My mother used to say, “I cast a couple pieces of bread on the water and the waves bring me back a ham sandwich.”
Obviously, she wasn’t a philosopher, but she believed we are all dependent on the grace we give to each other!
We may not know it yet, but she was right. Everyone is equal.
Lots of love, Emily
Enjoy the video, one of my favs!

Charmeine
Originally posted on The Scarlet Order:

Charmeine opens in heaven, where we learn about two angels who are deeply in love. One is Tabbruis, Angel of Self-Determination. The other is Charmeine, Angel of Harmony. In chapter two, something has happened. Tabbruis and Charmeine have been separated by time and space. Tabbruis wakes up in the land of Canaan and befriends a shepherd boy named Joseph, wearing a colorful coat. When marauders break into the camp, Tabbruis tries to stop them. In the process, he discovers that he’s a fanged creature with a craving for blood. The centuries pass and Tabbruis doesn’t age. Eventually he meets…

Dracula Untold – thoughts and review, Oh My . . .
Okay, I believe I’m a Paranormal Romance Connoisseur.Others would say I’m freak about the genre.
However, I choose to believe that we all have little quirks. This is mine.
I love Paranormal Romance!
I religiously read novels, watch movies and TV, and even go to plays of the Paranormal Romance genre.
So, with that little bit of embarrassing fact being divulged, I’m going to share with you my experience from watching the new movie, DRACULA UNTOLD.
I really loved the premise of this movie. Instead of the regular, run of mill evil Dracula . . . this Dracula had a mammoth cause to conquer. The relationship he has with his wife and child is loving and downright heartwarming.
Yes, and I was brought to welling up as the story developed between the family. This story of Dracula was not of selfishness or wanton evil, it was about being able to protect your home and loved ones.
Being a hero!
I am always puzzled how villianized the Dracula story is, but this was a truly different take.
Okay, now I’m going to tell you the truth!
The main reason why I loved this movie is because of LUKE EVANS! Oh my . . .
I mean, there are roles made for actors, and this was made for him.He excelled at it. Not only being my perfect vision of Dracula, his speech, actions, and mannerisms were spot on how Dracula would be.
There is a character in The Light-Bearer Series, Dmitri, who the Dracul Legend was made from. Yes, I used the plot in my novels, but with a totally different twist.
Luke Evans would be an excellent Dmitri!
I was thinking during the movie, I wonder if he will play this role in my movie version of The Light-Bearer Series? Oh my . . .
Gary Shore, the Director did a fantastic job as the action was fast-paced and gripping.
The cinematography and special effects were unbelievably good! I know a lot of the effects were CGI, but I couldn’t tell it. Some of my favorite movies have cheesy CGI and/or special effects. It really detracts from the story, these did not. I was suckered into believing a million bats can wage war against a hoard.
The music by Ramin Djawdi is driving and compelled the scenes. It added to the artistry. Now, I watched this movie in IMAX with Surround sound. I realize that may have helped intensify the experience, but it was worth the money I laid down to watch it.

For all this and more, I would say if you are a Paranormal fan, RUN, don’t walk to see this movie, DRACULA UNTOLD!
If you are an action and historical fan, you would like this movie also.
For my very, self-admitted addiction, I found this version of Dracula to be one of the best I’ve seen in a very long time!
I’m adding it to the list right with John Badham’s, Dracula, which is my all-time favorite movie!
See this movie before it leaves the theater, the small screen won’t give you the wonderful majesty this movie provides!
The Trailer is below, but it won’t do DRACULA UNTOLD justice. I don’t think any trailer could!
I will give this movie a rating of a 10 plus out of 10!
Lots of love, Emily

LIEBSTER AWARD – thank you . . .
He is a Brilliant in being an accomplished Author and Astronomer. He is a scientist who studies celestial bodies such as black holes, moons, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies, as well as Gamma-ray bursts and cosmic microwave background radiation. A related but distinct subject, cosmology, is concerned with studying the universe as a whole.Go check his blog and most importantly, his books! Thank you David! YOU ROCK!
Why do you blog?
I have learned that we are all connected; it is just that we don’t know each other yet. I want to know the amazing people in this media.
Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?My favorite teacher was my Mother! She taught me the most important lesson to BE KIND! NO ONE IS BETTER THAN YOU and YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE!
What is your favorite film?
Of course, it has to be the John Badham’s version of Dracula. Yes, it was cheesy, but oh my . . . Frank Langella was at his prime good looks! I loved his hypnotic eyes and his hands were masterpieces that could direct symphonies! Speaking of symphonies, John Williams wrote the best soundtrack ever! The music added to the wonderful magnum opus of art! As others wouldn’t think so, my version of art is different and this film was to me. Call me crazy, but it was! If you haven’t seen the film in a while, take another look at it.
What is your favorite place you’ve visited and why?I love the OCEAN – anywhere! Why? Because it makes me and my problems small in comparison to its majesty and vastness, I am humbled.
If given a choice, would you be a vampire? Why or why not?
I would love to be a vampire – oh my! Why? To be an instrument of nature and have power to live many lives, would be a treasure to me.
What literary classic do you most want to read?Oh well, you know . . . Brahms Stoker, Dracula. I’ve read about a hundred times! I have read Mary Shelley Wollstonecraft’s Frankenstein tons of times. Yes, I love the older horror writers. They are timeless, and I could read them over and over again. One day, I biggest wish and hope is that someone out there enjoys The Light-Bearer Series like I enjoy those books!
If you could order anything to eat right now, what would it be?
WOW! I have lost 150 pounds to regain my health. I haven’t had sugar in almost two years! However, I don’t want sugar, if you can imagine that! With my condition, I can’t eat a lot at a time. For once, I would love to have a Porterhouse Steak with a loaded baked potato, and eat it heartily!
Are you a day person or a night person?
Sort of both! I work during the day my job which pays the bills, and then I come home at night and play – writing my books or catching up reading the wonderful people’s post on the blogosphere!
What does writing mean to you?
E V E R Y T H I N G! I love letting the movie I have playing in my mind be typed out for people to read and enjoy! The art of writing is an outlet I treasure! It is my pleasure and joy to read and write. I know that people can get high on drugs . . . but lets just say this is my crack! What’s your beverage of choice when writing?
I love, love, love COKE and COFFEE! However, since I have been on a healthy trend trying to repair my body – I have been drinking Diet Cherry Zero and Green Tea. My characters get to eat or drink anything they want in The Light-Bearer Series, so I live through them!

Review of SEDITIOUS by Author and Reviewer Wendy Lovetiggi
Seditious
will be out in pre-sales soon by PDMI Publishing
I gave it to a reviewer and Author Wendy Lovetiggi
Here it is!
I was given an e-copy of Seditious (The Light Bearer Series #4) by the author, Emily Guido, in exchange for an honest review.Thank You Emily!!
Where to start?
This installment has a lot of emotions woven through the words, betrayal, love, evil, hurt, faith, trust, and sensuality.
Charmeine and Tabbruis are going through so much as their LOVE for each other is diabolically tested.
It threw me for a loop to read along as they went through the heartfelt scenes that were depicted so clearly. The twists and turns kept me up way into the night as I had to know what would happen next.
The characters are awesome, personable, and lovable.I adore this series.
Why?
Because it speaks to the hardcore romantic within me, it leaves the sensual scenes up to the readers imagination, and it so uniquely refreshing.
I recommend this series to all the YA Paranormal Readers out there.
Go Get Ya Some!

Blood amour . . .
“I can heal the cut and bump on your head. Please, let me heal you.” Tabbruis gently touched her head.“But, how?”
“Trust me, I will not hurt you,” he replied as he looked into her eyes.
Not knowing what to expect, she nodded.
Tabbruis took her head and leaned it over to him with her forehead on his chest.
All of a sudden, Charleen felt a warm, wet bolt of lightning going through her which did not hurt. She grabbed him around his waist and pulled him close to her.
Tabbruis did not know why but her blood was exquisite. He had never tasted someone’s blood which fired his passion and desire. He held her close.
She could hear him softly growl as he licked the wound. The sounds didn’t scare her. It thrilled her. She moaned gently with feelings of sexual pleasure. Her chest swelled, and her heart raced. He fought to keep his fangs in his gums. Her blood was like an answer to his hunger which had burned in him for centuries. Tabbruis felt her power in the blood. Her blood was intoxicating him with sexual want. His feelings of desire intensified. He could not control the urge to take her into his arms and never let her go until they both had sweet relief.
Charleen moaned louder. The sexual electricity was flying up and down her body. Her body hummed with desire. She dug her nails into his back to draw him closer to her.
Tabbruis knew she was as excited as he was…
Suddenly, his fangs appeared. Quickly, he moved away from her turning around and covering his mouth.
Charleen slowly opened her heavy-hooded eyes with a hunger she never had before. She felt a sexual need for this man in front of her. She asked breathlessly, “Why did you stop? What’s the matter? Have I done something wrong?”“In my life, I have never tasted blood so powerful and intoxicating.”
“Powerful? Intoxicating?” Charleen gasped and felt like she was on fire with passion.

Symbolism – do my readers get it?
As an Author, I have hundreds of symbols in my novels, The Light-Bearer Series. Symbolism isn’t a new concept.
However, if it is an inside symbol to the Author, it can be lost to the reader. Isn’t that the reason you write? To convey the picture you have in your head?
I recently read a novel by a talented Author, and symbolism was used a lot and the explanation wasn’t there. However, I knew it was a symbol for something, but I didn’t want or couldn’t decode it.
Symbols are used in The Light-Bearer Series such as the ocean being a calming influence on Tabbruis and Charmeine.
Charmeine loves roses, and her love is based on the purity, romance and delight roses are to the senses and heart.
The Castle Charmeine in Romania is not just a home. It is a symbol of security, unity, and comfort.
The Dodge Charger that Tabbruis loves so much is a symbol of Tabbruis’ strength, power, and hard as nails attitude.
Shane’s bright, red, long hair is a symbol of his vitality, love and laughter but with an ass-kicking personality.
Having a trigger in my books, like the diamond, citrine and onyx wedding ring given to Charmeine, is there for the reader to understand - there is always dark with the light.I believe my readers get these symbols.
They understand and most importantly, relate to them.
Earlier, I said that I read a book where the Symbolism lost me. Maybe I wasn’t smart enough or engaged enough to figure it out?
I freely admit that I am not perfect. I give the benefit of the doubt to the Author, but it did stick with me so much that I wanted to write about it and ask . . .
Have you ever been lost reading a book with symbolism?

I love
The Police
This song is definitely in the symbolistic category!
Lots of love, Emily

Enjoy and lots of love, Emily
GOD’s PLAY Synopsis
Sixteen-year old Toby was trained by a family of hunters to kill shape-shifters — but he has a unique weapon in his arsenal. With a touch of his hand, Toby can lift the magical protection shape-shifters use to disguise themselves as human. It’s an unusual skill for a hunter, and he prefers to kill monsters the old-fashioned way: with a blade.Because of his special skill, Toby suspects he may be a monster himself. His suspicions deepen when William, a jackal-headed shape-shifter, saves him from an ambush where Toby’s the only survivor. And Toby doubts William helped him for purely altruistic reasons. With his list of allies running thin, Toby must reconcile his hatred of shifters and the damning truth that one saved his life. It’ll take both of them to track down the monster who ordered the ambush.
And Toby needs his unlikely ally because he has a vicious enemy — the infamous Circe, who has a vendetta to settle against the hunters. Toby has to unravel why his powers are important to Circe and the shape-shifters. And he has to do it on the run — before Circe finds him and twists him to her own ends.

The 10 lessons I learned from being an Author . . .
1. Be KIND . . .If I am not kind, then I should expect to be treated badly. It may not be today… but it may be a time when I really need it.
2. Don’t be HAUGHTY . . .
I am the first person to say that I am not the expert in anything.
3. Read other Author’s work without an AGENDA . . .
No one in the world wants to be pre-judged. You have a genre that you feel comfortable with, that’s great. However, branch out and test the waters with other genres without any judgement. You will be happy you did!
4. Always read a book from COVER to COVER . . .If you talk to a person, you don’t walk away during mid-sentence – that would be rude. Don’t do that to your fellow Authors!
5. Be good to YOURSELF . . .
You are important, if your brain isn’t rested and happy, then your work will be compromised. Use common sense. Take care of your best resource . . . yourself!
6. Take time for WRITING . . .
Shut out the world and sit down to write. It doesn’t take much time, if you are centered. I use earphones and listen to music. You may find sitting outside on your porch works or getting up in the middle of night? Find your niche.
7. Don’t get trapped into thinking every word that is written has to be PERFECT . . .
Perfection doesn’t exist. I have no doubt that every great Author has to re-write and/or edit. Don’t let your creativity be stifled by perfection.
8. You have to be ENGAGED . . .You need to educate yourself thoroughly about Social Media, and you can’t be afraid to put yourself and your work out there with WordPress, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc.
9. BREATHE. . .
Rome wasn’t built in day, and neither is a career. You have to work, put in your dues and take your time. Don’t rush yourself. Know that being an Author is hard work. Give yourself time and relax to enjoy life.
10. This is the most important lesson I have learned . . . Karma is a Bitch!
It seems my first rule is like my 10th . . . huh . . . could be something to that, you know? If you review, write or act like your work is perfect, you are wrong! No one is perfect, and Karma will turn around bite you in the butt. Maybe it will be a chance of a lifetime that you will miss. All my fortunate circumstances have come from being humble and paying it forward.
Enjoy this song, it’s one that I listen to a lot when I work . . .
It is unbelievably accurate!
Lots of love, Emily
