The year is 4545 and humanity has now colonised and reached the farthest points of their known universe’s boundaries, which has revealed a shocking truth nobody was prepared to confront! Setting out as inquisitive children in their exploration of the cosmos they had unexpectedly finished this journey as gods, uniquely sentient in the marvel of their own existence, they had found their universe to be devoid of any other intelligent life and a creator. As the Galactic Union of Planets and its people struggle to find further purpose, infighting amongst its factions begins to break out. In the wake of this chaos, dark and sinister forces begin to rise, claiming the opportunistic spoils for themselves by seeking to destabilise the Galactic balance of power and politics.
Meanwhile, Captain Rex Stormont and his crew aboard the Inter Galactic Vessel Bonitas speed towards a distress call emanating from a deep space research station that has come under attack from an unknown aggressor. As they begin their investigation of the events surrounding this unexpected and uncharacteristic attack they unwittingly set into motion a chain of events that will change humanity’s very understanding of their own existence and the place they occupy within it. The deeper Rex and his team go, the more mysterious this strange sequence of events surrounding the M104 Ultra-Massive black hole at the heart of the Sombrero Galaxy become. Are these ominous omens something that humankind should fear? Or are they the first steps towards heralding in the much-needed next golden era of humanity?
‘Compassion’s Cry’ is the first instalment in the highly reader rated ‘Humanity’s Dawn’ trilogy is available now in all formats and the link below, and FREE on Kindle Unlimited 👇

Is the Big Bang Really the Beginning?
𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐈𝐆 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆?
𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐑: This is a discussion topic, not a statement (before I am burnt at the stake 😊)
In my ‘Humanity’s Dawn’ universe I decided to go with the concept of what I’ve come to term as the ‘Cradle’. Ultimately, our universe is one of many thousands, that sits on a sphere like ball of energy, and was born from a surface eruption (the big bang). In the book the discovery of this is effectively played out as a sort of inverse ‘flat earther’ revelation to humanity, their concept of the cosmos has been all wrong!
The physics within the sphere are the opposite of those in our universe, with matter being the expelled element from with the Cradle. I particularly enjoyed playing with the subjects of dark matter and energy. From the information that I have read to date I don’t like how they have been fudge factored into our understanding of the universe to explain something we don’t yet fully understand. I play with this, attributing the repelling and attracting forces to the internal processes of the Cradle going on beneath the conceivable quantum boundary of our very 3 dimensional existence.
I have attached some of the illustrations (Fig. 3-6) I use in my first book, utilising a bit of mathematical trickery to add a bit of plausibility! The best argument so far for dark energy is that the expansion of the universe is increasing in speed. I flip this idea on its head and show a comparison of how an explosion of this magnitude (birth from the cradle), would actually speed up if it was rolling over a curved surface (cradle concept), rather than a flat surface (our current understanding of the universe).
I’ve always been fascinated at how many systems take the most efficient structure, a sphere for example, when they are often born out of such chaos and ever increasing entropy; nature is truly remarkable.
Could it be that our universe is the byproduct of a volcanic type eruption on a cosmological scale?

Humanity's Dawn Weekly Update - Our Universe (29th January 2024)
𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘’𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐋𝐘 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 – 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄!
Hi everyone! Now I have a social media strategy in place, weekly update blogs will become a routine ‘Sunday’ thing! Throw in a couple of ‘Sci-fi Concept’ posts, a few ‘Discussions’ and some ‘Advertising’, and you’ve got yourself a weekly agenda😊
In short, It has been a really busy month, where I have utilised the break in writing between finishing book 2 and starting book 3 well.
𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝
Where do I start with this one? Ok, deep breath in, and go……
• I have created a website; this can now be viewed at the following link - https://www.martinroweauthor.com/ Come and have a look 😊
• I have figured out how to use ‘Mailerlite’ and plan to start distributing a monthly newsletter in the hopefully not to distant future.
• I have figured out how to use ‘BookFunnel’ and will be using this, in the future, to distribute promotions and ARC reader copies of my Beta-scripts for my team of helpers to review prior to official release of books. If being part of this is something that interests you, please message me.
• I have created my own evaluation algorithm for identifying writers in my genre (basically a clever way to eye up the competition). I now therefore have a very long list of title that I need to get through before I start my research on book 3!
• I have completed the character introductions and AI generations for the book 2 release campaign, which will start on 18/03/24 and run for 6 weeks.
• I now have an Author page on ‘Good reads’ and plan to start engaging forums and readers in here whilst building a solid fan base within. If you haven’t done yet, following me is a good way to gauge what I’m up to in between projects. i.e. Looking at my ‘Bookshelf’ gives you an excellent idea of what I’m putting into my head in order to create the end product, which in this case is book 3. The link to follow me on ‘Goodreads’ is here - https://www.goodreads.com/friend/i?fe...
• I have also now become, through research and reading, somewhat of an expert on Promotions (Bookbub and Bookfunnel), mail lists (Mailerlite), reader forums (Goodreads), website construction (IONOS).
𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, reviews are the life blood of any Author, and the most important thing to a reader when they are making up their mind whether to click and buy a copy.
Currently, when run against units sold, I have about a 5% return rate when it comes to readers reviewing book 1 on Amazon. It would therefore be great, if you haven’t done so already, to jump on your Amazon ‘Verified Purchase’ link and leave a review.
In your review could I ask you to consider the following, as the more detail you provide is proven to get more positive responses from future would be readers, according to marketing statistics.
1. Tell people what you thought in general about the book (Title and text).
2. What did you like about my writing in particular, i.e. what stood out.
3. What type of reader would you recommend this book to?
For those of you who have already left reviews.
It would really help me if you could do the same on ‘Goodreads’ at the link provided - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
𝐔𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬
• I’m currently working on a detailed timeline of what is laid out in brief at the beginning of all the ‘Humanity’s Dawn’ front sections of their book. In it I’m discussing two elements, the fiction and the science. This will be available digitally and will be FREE to you my readers. All I will need you to do is sign up to my monthly newsletter to get it.
• Once I have finished writing the timeline aforementioned I intend to write two short stories of approximately 7.5-10K words, that will insert into the ‘Humanity’s Dawn’ universe after book 1 and book 2 respectively. They will again, be FREE of charge to you my loyal fanbase, providing you have l left a review on Amazon and Goodreads for the corresponding book

WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE.......
In the period between sending Book two to the Editor and starting Book three, a writer can find himself with a nice little period to cram in some brand research and development exercises. It also presents an excellent window for them to catchup with new releases in their genre and sub-categories.
In the many books I have read on Author systems, tools and methods in the past month, the one thing that has been suggested in nearly every writer guide I have read thus far is the question…… What other writers should you have an eye on?
Today I have created a rather fine spreadsheet for that purpose, which helps me look at how the Amazon algorithms can work for me. After many hours of data extraction and manipulation, I am now able to answer the question I initially asked myself.
The three elements I have been looking at are;
1. Which of my readers are reading their work?
2. Which readers are looking at my work and their work simultaneously?
3. Who are the big hitters in the categories I intend to sell in?
The results are in, and as you can see from my ‘Goodreads’ bookshelf, it is rather rammed with 'to be read's'. So without further ado, I better crack on!
If any of you want to join me in my reading ventures you would be most welcome ‘Friends’ or ‘Followers’ 😊

Worthing Town Centre Through the Looking Glass
Today, for the first time in nearly 5 years, I went into town with my wife to have a general wander around and get something to eat. As you can imagine I was quite taken aback by the many changes that have taken place in that time.
The most noticeable observation was the types of business’. Gone are the shops (standfast bargain stores and charity), making way for what appears to be cafe’s, hairdressers and restaurants.
When I thought harder I remembered that business only ever changes to suit the cultural demand and its demographic, and that is what I believe is happening here. When I look at my two teenage sons I see a remarkable difference in their approach to socialising compared to their mother and I when we were of a similar age. They don’t do it in Pub’s and clubs anymore and this is why the face of Worthing, I feel, has changed from what I once recognised.
The new ‘Forestrow’ street food hall complex is a refreshing development, with dining options for families of more modest incomes available, rather than the onward march of highly price-inflated fine dining establishments, which seemed to forever be popping up on Worthing’s streets.
For me though, as a writer of Science Fiction and general avid fan and reader, I think the most interesting change is the emergence of gaming café’s, comic stores and generally anything fantasy or Sci-Fi based. When you look into these next generation social spots they are indeed that. Not hardly a face over 25
This had always been something that I had worried about. Was this generation losing the creative and imaginative spark, with the internet filling this void? I can happily confirm that this is not the case. Worthing and its surrounding areas appear to be undergoing what can best be described as a creative revolution, with our younger generation at the helm.

Future Military Capability in Sci-Fi
I was watching the news this morning (in the UK) and the Defence Minister, who was defending funding lines on our UK Armed Forces vocalised a comparison of our Armed Forces now, compared to the ‘Cold War’ era. The level of reduction is staggering!
As always, and with everything, this got my Sci-Fi/military veteran brain rolling 😉
The narratives I often like to write and read normally contain gigantic fleets and armies of ground troops. They are then normally always pitched against some enemy of equal size and capability in a battle to decide the fate of the universe.
With the drastic reductions in the size of units across all streams of our Armed Forces, are these concepts of huge space battles soon to become an unrealistic format for future Sci-Fi, with more focus being on alliances, cooperation and tactical striking in all forums of warfare?
I feel, personally, that you just can’t beat a good old fashioned bust up on mass, but I’m open to other ideas. What do you guys think?
