WHEN I GROW UP I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE.......

In the period between sending Book two to the Editor and starting Book three, a writer can find himself with a nice little period to cram in some brand research and development exercises. It also presents an excellent window for them to catchup with new releases in their genre and sub-categories.

In the many books I have read on Author systems, tools and methods in the past month, the one thing that has been suggested in nearly every writer guide I have read thus far is the question…… What other writers should you have an eye on?

Today I have created a rather fine spreadsheet for that purpose, which helps me look at how the Amazon algorithms can work for me. After many hours of data extraction and manipulation, I am now able to answer the question I initially asked myself.

The three elements I have been looking at are;

1. Which of my readers are reading their work?
2. Which readers are looking at my work and their work simultaneously?
3. Who are the big hitters in the categories I intend to sell in?

The results are in, and as you can see from my ‘Goodreads’ bookshelf, it is rather rammed with 'to be read's'. So without further ado, I better crack on!

If any of you want to join me in my reading ventures you would be most welcome ‘Friends’ or ‘Followers’ 😊
