WEEKLY UPDATE

My Social Media (SM) campaign continues its weekly cycle, with a few revisions. I’ll now be posting as follows. Monday – Science Concept, Tuesday – Book Review, Wednesday – General Discussion Point, Thursday – Advertising, Friday – Quick Fact, Saturday – A call to action (mainly how you guys can help me)😊 Julia (Artist) is also currently designing me some custom business cards and an email signature block.

• Editor – Juliette has finished reviewing the manuscript and it is back with me for a final read through before we get it uploaded and distributed to the ARC team.
• Artist – Julia is just waiting for me to get back to her now with page numbers to generate the final cover for the print books. She should have the back cover ready for viewing soon.
• Audio – Shawn continues with the audiobook and is on track for the deadline (02 Apr 24)
• The release date of 29th April 2024 is still on track 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Now that I have the tables I’m currently working with Julia (Artist) and a local printer to generate some postcards, banners for the tables and roller banners for the background. I will then put down an order for these at the beginning of April 2024. Regarding where I’ll be, the dates I have so far are below. Why not pop down and grab a signed copy? The reader magnet, or more accurately, FREE reader giveaway is now complete and with my Editor (Juliette). Date when she starts reviewing is still TBC. Julia (Artist) has designed a cover for it, which looks great. This will only be available to followers who sign up for my monthly newsletter via my website. I’ve yet to set this functionality up so hold on for the minute. The ‘Extended Timeline (1961-1945) tracks through this time period in my fictional universe, discussing all the technological advancements as well as the political and socio-economic changes. Also has lots of hints on where I’m thing of going in the future with this time 😉

Is The Printed Book Doomed?
𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐃𝐎𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐃?
That Amazon package falls through the door and you rip open that seal, removing your newly acquired book. You feel its weight in your hand, marvelling over the fine detail you open it up and take a long sniff in of that joyfully intoxicating smell that only a new book can provide 😊 (Hopefully it’s not just me?)
I thought I’d explore this as a topic for my Wednesday discussion and was quite alarmed to find outsee that younger readers may not necessarily share in my heartfelt joy of having a book under their nose!
From 2017 to 2023, the ratio of books read in print versus books read on-screen, respectively, by children in the 8-18 year group has gone from a ratio of 3:1 to 2:1 (see Statista table below). This is quite a massive drop in such a short space of time, so my question today is………
Will this trend eventually see printed books disappear altogether, or will it just mean we have to pay out more for that format?
Apologises the statistics are UK only, but I’m sure many of my followers on the continent and in the US are experiencing the same trend. If not, let me know what’s going on in your neck of the woods 😊

DAMMIT FUTURE..... WHERE'S MY HOVERBOARD?
𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓 𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄………. 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄’𝐒 𝐌𝐘 𝐇𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑-𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃?
The year is 1989 (I’m 10 years old) and there is a buzz in the school playground. My friend has just told me that he went to the cinema that weekend and watched ‘Back to the Future Part II’, and that hoverboards were now a real thing. As I grew older and the magic began to fade I realised that in order to keep the dream alive I was going to have to put my faith in future inventors, primarily Doc Brown! 34 years later and I’m still waiting ☹
Within the confines of our current technological limits we have not yet seen that anti-gravity device, and probably never will if ‘General Relativity’ has anything to say about it. The best contender so far has been the ‘Air Board’, created and piloted by Franky Zapata, achieving a Guiness World Record in 2016 for covering a distance of just over 2,252 meters! Unfortunately though this uses jet engines to keep itself up; hardly the clean efficient tech we remember from the movie!
Unfortunately the dream was very much alive with Newton, classing gravity as a force. That was until Einstein came along and proved that gravity wasn’t a force and was in fact a result of spacetime geometry. Theoretical quantum physicists have postulated over the existence of a quantum gravity particle, the graviton, but are currently nowhere near finding it last time I checked ☹
So, my question to you guys. Can any of you lend me some ideas on how I can go about building my own hoverboard? 😊

So the promotion deal went really well, with hundreds of people claiming their FREE copies of ‘Compassion’s Cry’. My book reached No #1 in the Military category (see below) and No #2 in a further seven sections. Overall, it reached No #15 in the Science Fiction category and charted at No #480 in Kindle promotions. Thank you all who grabbed your copy, it helped me grab the type of exposure I’m after 😊
