Quantum Consciousness

𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐌 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒

It has been touched upon in this group and many others before that Quantum Mechanics is a discipline of probability, where our inability to physically see what is actually happening is only accepted because of the fact that our theory’s return exceptionally accurate results (more so than General Relativity, believe it or not).

When anyone from the outside try’s to observe or measure the spin, polarity, velocity or position of a component of this system it results in what is termed as a ‘Quantum Waveform Collapse’. This means that everything falls into one definitive state and we are unable to witness it in its normal infinite variation. The Copenhagen, Many Worlds and Bohm interpretations are but a few models that have tried to address this phenomenon.

It has been suggested that the human mind could in fact be working on a quantum level. After all it is a collection of atoms that use electrical signals, so it generally meets the criteria in that sense. So why can’t we see what’s going on? Well…… Some believe that in order to see the infinite possibilities that play out at the same time, one would have to also be at all those levels simultaneously, and this is something our conscious mind, or how we experience it, cannot do (at least outwardly)!

So why can’t we interact with these quantum processes?

Is Faster Than Light Travel Possible?

𝙄𝙎 𝙁𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉 𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏 𝙏𝙍𝘼𝙑𝙀𝙇 𝙋𝙊𝙎𝙎𝙄𝘽𝙇𝙀?

In short, anything with mass cannot travel as fast as the speed of light, which is a staggering 299,792,458 metres/sec, and coincidently, as social media would have you believe, is also not the coordinates of the Egyptian pyramids (how many times does that one get posted a week) 🤦

So, are things without mass (like a photon), able to travel faster than the speed of light? The answer to that one is that there is still to much uncertainty to definitively answer yes or no. Referring back to ‘Quantum Tunnelling’, a subject I covered earlier this week, the problem still remains of whether it is a product of probability, rather than a valid scientific observation.

In 1995 Gunter Nimtz claimed to have been able to modulate a ‘Tunnelling’ beam where he was able to play Mozart’s Symphony No 40 at 4 times the speed of light. Whether the signal does travel faster or the beam is simply distorted by the process, similar to a runner who dips at the line, is still in question!

So the Sci-Fi vs Science bit………….. Do you think we will be able to achieve FLT travel in the future? Do you believe the science will ever stack up, and if not, how will we get around it, or won’t we? What ideas have you seen (fictional and scientific) that have peaked your interest around this topic?

How It All Ends?

𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐈𝐓 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒?

Hi Everyone, with a trilogy being my first venture into the published world I will shortly be writing the third and final instalment. Much of the research is in progress, and everything is still very much in the planning phase.

One of the things that occurred to me is that I’ve not yet brought anything to a close, and I know there a lot of do’s and don’ts about this important part of the book.

What are your thoughts on endings? What have you done, or seen, that you liked?

The Artifact by Joshua James

Artifact (Saturn's Legacy #1) Artifact by Joshua James

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great Action From Start to Finish

From the first to the last page the action is non-stop, utilising humour well to lend plausibility to the fact that the main character is definitely having the most interesting, but terrifying day of his life. I enjoyed how the settings of ocean and space were blended, making it a different type of Sci-Fi read. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes their Sci-Fi fast paced.

CRAZY CONCEPTS - QUANTUM TUNNELLING!

𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐙𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐒 – 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐌 𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄/𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐒

Quantum tunnelling is best defined as quantum particles being able to penetrate a barrier, despite not having enough energy to do so! To frame this in your mind this is like being able to push a boulder up a hill without expending any energy (see picture)!

A very eloquent way of putting it is that “a tunnelling particle gets around a barrier by moving from A to B without going through the space in between”.

Currently, at practical levels of application, we must look to the microprocessor industry. Quantum tunnelling effects are both a blessing in semiconductor microelectronics and a curse. As the transistors get smaller, as we increase processing power, we are now starting to reach the limit where the effect will soon be able to overcome the resilience of all useable materials (the barrier). This means quantum tunnelling will make it impossible to turn devices off if we go too far (so there is a limit)!

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍/𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

For many years now people have been trying to invent the perpetual motion machine, where the energy you get out is greater than the energy you put in, without any interference from an outside system (as some of the greatest scandals have shown)!

To this date everyone has failed due to the conservation of energy law, but could quantum tunnelling, that seems to fly in the face of this law, be the key?

What do you think? Is unlimited energy just a quantum barrier away?

REQUEST: Please do ask questions, you don’t have to be a physicist to join in these discussions and I will eject anyone from the conversation that is being a know it all. I want everyone to engage, not just a select few. There is no such thing as a stupid question, with questions often adding more to the debate in my experience 😊

WEEKLY UPDATE

𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬’𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗪𝗡 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗟𝗬 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 – 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘!

𝗛𝗶 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲!

So this week I attended the West Sussex Writers monthly get together. Daisy White (D. E. White), a crime fiction writer was the guest speaker. She gave us some excellent pointers on beginnings and endings. I’m also off to meet the Arun Scribes in about 2 hours for our monthly get together as well 😊

𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱

My Social Media (SM) campaign is now routinely starting everyday (Mon-Fri anyway) at 0530 before I start work. This has now effectively replaced the gym lol! I’m getting great engagement and acquiring lots of new followers which is great also. Once I have finished writing my timeline (reader freebie) I’ll start looking at the newsletter 😊

𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝟮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀

• Editor – Juliette continues with the manuscript and is on track for the deadline (02 Mar 24)
• Artist – I now have the front cover, wallpapers and SM slides. Still waiting on the Video, but hopefully this will be any day soon!
• Audio – Shawn continues with the audiobook and is on track for the deadline (02 Apr 24)
• The release date of 29th April 2024 is still on track 🥳🥳🥳🥳

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, reviews are the life blood of any Author, and the most important thing to a reader when they are making up their mind whether to click and buy a copy.
In your review could I ask you to consider the following, as the more detail you provide is proven to get more positive responses from future would be readers, according to marketing statistics.
1. Tell people what you thought in general about the book (Title and text).
2. What did you like about my writing in particular, i.e. what stood out.
3. What type of reader would you recommend this book to?
For those of you who have already left reviews. It would really help me if you could do the same on ‘Goodreads’ at the link provided - Humanity's Dawn: Compassion's Cry: An Epic Military Hard Science Space Opera by Martin Rowe | Goodreads

𝗨𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀

I continue to progress the Humanity’s Dawn timeline and am now just over 50% complete. I need to focus a bit more this week on at least cracking one concept a day (about 9 left).

𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 😊

𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀,
