Ready Player Two by Ernest ClineGoodreadsThe Ballard of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne CollinsGoodreadsLittle Treasures by Gervase PhinnGoodreads

I thought Ready Player One was brilliant, so I’m interested to see if the sequel is as good. I’ve heard mixed reviews about The Ballard of Song...

Back to Reality (#TheSundayPost)

the sunday postThe Latest in my Life

I returned to work on Monday, and boy was it a shock to the system! After staying up until 3 am and waking up at 10 am most days, I was not quite prepared for the 6:30 am start. But I powered through on coffee and leftover mince pies. My daughter didn’t go back to school until Tuesday, so she spent a day at work with me, colouring and playing with lego.

This weekend, we finally took the decorations down and put them back into the loft. It’s one of my most-hated ch...

Next on my agenda is finishing off all the leftover mince-pies and cake so that I can start to eat healthily again!

I’m using today’s IWSG post as an ...

Still standing after a rough couple of months

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in such a long time. Life gave us a few hard blows one after the other, and I had to abandon all my writing and blogging plans. Luckily, things have settled down now and I feel ready to share what’s happened.

When it rains, it pours…

If you visited my blog back in October, you may remember that my five-year-old caught Covid-19 during half term. Luckily, she had very mild cold-like symptoms and was soon back at school after her isolation period ended. I was u...

A Family Wedding, Covid-19 and Writing NaNoWriMo (#TheSundayPost)

the sunday postThe Latest in my Life

The last couple of months have been pretty eventful. I attended my first in-person author event and performed in a dance show. I’ve also had school opening evenings, medical appointments and social events galore.

The best event, though, was my sister and brother-in-law’s wedding. I was a bridesmaid and my daughter was a flower girl. We had such a brilliant day with close family and friends.

My beautiful sister Shana-Lee and her husband, Sean. Their amazi...

Reflections on my First Author Event: Boston Book Fest 2021

Boston Book Festival logo

I attended my first in-person author event last month: Boston Book Festival 2021. The weekend of 17th-19th September was packed with events featuring authors such as Michael Morpurgo, Benjamin Zephaniah, Aisha Busby, Karen Maitland, Tim Atkinson, and more.

I had a fantastic time at the free “meet and greet” event at Boston Guildhall. My ...
