Friday, 29th October -- Big bummer for sports: The Arizona Cardinals lost last night -- and they didn't need to. Talk about lucking out, the Packers took the prize. And the Warriors lost in overtime to the Grizzlies -- sigh -- it's hard to gird the loins when not one but BOTH teams lose and unnecessarily. All right, I'm done mourning. Yesterday was gorgeous -- 2.5 mile hike -- and today is supposed to be the same, lots of sun and mild temps. How about you guys? Are the Winter Minions trying to push the Fall Minions out of the way? You got snow yet? Yuko cold? Enough to make you want to snuggle under the covers with your critter and not move those blankets?
Reckoning is coming along just fine. Had a surprise happen yesterday. You'll never guess what Kirra did. What's more, it wasn't my idea, a real winner.
It's Friday, end of the work week, and around the edges the Taco Minions are beginning their chant -- Saturday is nearly here, The Cantina is waiting, waiting, just for you --

Thursday, 28th October -- Here we go: Week 8 NFL. I'm posting my picks today because one of them is the Thursday Night Game.
l) Arizona Cardinals over Green Bay Packers (Arizona missing JJ Watt for the rest of the season, but I think they can still beat the Packers -- hmmm, we'll see)
2) Buffalo Bills over Miami Dolphins
3) Cleveland Browns over Pittsburgh Steelers
4) Cincinnati Bengals over NY Jets
5) Tampa Bay Bucs over New Orleans Saints

What a beautiful Thursday -- high of 70 today (a bit warm for me, but no complaining, it's unattractive. I imagine it's also great where you live. which means you get your beautiful selves outside and hoof it a good mile. Take my spirit with you since I have an appointment I can't break and can't physically do my own hike.

Wednesday, 27th October -- Halloween's coming, you can nearly see it over the horizon and if it's dark and you wake up in the middle of the night, you might see a skeleton mask pushing through to "trick" you, which means it knows you're not planning on giving out "treats" to the ghouls and fairies and Captain Kirks. You do not want to see the skeleton mask (like the Halloween hood ornament on my piano) -- so what's your favorite candy? Don't worry about the kids, they'll eat anything (no toothbrushes or gum, please) -- get your favorite candy just in case there's a smidgeon left over. Get prepared now for Sunday Night football and Sunday Night kiddos coming to ring your doorbell with big wide-mouthed bags.
It's going to be a splendid day, and yes, I include writing in the splendid. Work but such fun mixing it up with good and bad characters.
Okay, today you're going lie on your back, on a mat or on a nice thick rug. You're going to slowly raise each leg (separately) up and down twelve times, your hand on your stomach to feel the muscles working. Do this as many times as you can.

Tuesday, 26th, October -- Alas, no rain today. Are we all done for another ten years? Who knows? Then that means more rain dances, more flirting (at the very least) with the weather minions. Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings and that means -- TA DA -- Warriors swept all three California teams (Laker, Clippers, Kings) It's a great start, now we'll see what happens.
Got two GREAT ideas for Reckoning -- One for each of the plots -- It's such fun when this happens and now to watch it play out.
Everyone, outside you go, AFTER you stretch, do bis and tris, and now it's up to the legs to carry you here and yon past houses and pets and neighbors (some of them you even like) -- and go, guys, go, my spirit is right with you.

Monday, 25th October -- Week 7 NFL
Browns won, Patriots won, Raiders won, Cardinals won, Bucs won and the PANTHERS LOST -- So I was 4-1, to date I'm: 26-8.
So how did you guys do?
Goodness, I think a lot of you had to sleep with the rain minions -- we really had high winds and lots and lots of heavy rain. It was amazing. More rain forecasted for today for this afternoon. Flooding here and there -- but I swear to you I heard my cypress sing singing -- I believe it was an aria from Madame Butterfly.
Today is work -- beginning of the week so it'll take a bit to get back into it but I got a GREAT idea, hadn't thought of it before, but we'll see if it works.
No walking if it rains -- sigh -- that means the bike for 40 minutes.
Oh yes, I had my booster on Saturday, sore arm, swelled, yuck Sunday morning, then all over. Arm still sore, but who cares? I feel great. In two weeks, we're going to a Warrior's game!!!! Oh yes, they're 3-0 so far.

Wednesday, 20th October -- You guys made it really hard. I've never seen such amazing Halloween decorations -- and all so very different from each other, from skeletons to wreaths to pumpkins to trees. Thank you very much for giving me such pleasure. I picked two winners -- again, these two struck me personally the most, but it was close. #1 is Cricket Kaylis and #2 is Barbara Evans. Today is THE CANTINA -- YEA -- I'm thinking nachos, or maybe, a TACO along with an ENCHILADA -- and don't forget the guacamole, that's always a must. And at THE CANTINA, the tortilla chips are always crispy and warm, bring 'em on! So where are you having lunch? With a sister? A brother? A friend?
Today, I hope you find everything you need at the grocery store, including TP -- if the stores are low, empty shelves, you MUST email/call your congressman and both senators. Figure out what you're going to say, practice it a couple of times and then say it. -- be heard! -- Everyone on board? If you get a recording, say your spiel on the recording and be sure to give your name and phone number and email. The same is true with gas prices and heating, which is going to be outrageous this winter -- GET ACTIVE. Okay, I'm off your back. Think about the gorgeous afternoon, walking in the woods, listening to the woodpeckers, or feeling the amazing cool breeze on your face at the Bay or ocean. Post photos so I can picture you there, walking and basking, maybe singing.

Friday, 15th October -- Yea, a big beautiful absolutely perfect Friday except it's going to be 76 degrees -- a tad on the warm side for me, particularly hiking. All right, no whining, all is good.
Many of the football talking heads are picking the Browns to beat the so far perfect Arizona Cardinals -- it's true Arizona QB Kyler Murray has some sort of problem with his throwing hand, I think, and another of their big players, can't remember his name, is out on Covid protocol. So we'll see. Browns QB Baker Mayfield will have to be well nigh perfect -- I personally am torn -- And the problem is when torn what do you do? Maybe leave the room and not watch at all, yell for both teams? I know, I'll just wrap Christmas presents faster.
This huge problem with ships not coming to port and thus lots of shortages, not to mention possible Christmas presents -- So for kids, grandkids, go online and look for gifts made in the USA. Who has shortages in the grocery store?
Lovely hike along the Bay today then up to the ridge and suck in that beautiful clean air and bask in the beauty of ships going under the Golden Gate. My spirit will be thinking of you.
