Tuesday, 15th February -- Thank you ALL for your birthday good wishes -- I eye the presents on the table every morning and YES, the small pile is growing -- Party on Friday.
Did anyone do anything really unique and or crazy yesterday? Did anyone get a BIG surprise from their other half? But most importantly, did anyone have TACOS?

As of today no more mask mandates -- you'll notice no one paid any attention to the mandates at the Super Bowl and 82,000 N95 masks were handed out as people filed into the closed stadium. FREE -- The children are still being tortured and masks still at airports and any businesses that demand them.

Wednesday, 2nd February -- thank you for all your well wishes on our rather short trip to Florida -- it's supposed to be about 80 all the time we're there -- don't know about the nights, how low it'll get. Broke out the Outer Banks summer clothes, it'll be strange to be walking in shorts --
All of you in the snow and freezing ice consider moving South -- and Florida isn't a bad idea -- no state income tax and that's sure a plus.
Outside with me (your spirit) and let's have a final hike before I'm off to Florida. And no, as I told a couple of you, Eli would rather eat spinach than get in a car, much less an airplane. He sees the carrier and runs.
Rams or Bengals -- can't make up my mind.

Tuesday, 1st of February -- You get used to writing January or any other month and then it's gone, Whap -- just gone.
My editor loved Reckoning -- yea! He wants one sentence added. I think I can get with that program--
Walked 2.7 miles yesterday -- felt wonderful and it was enough. Those of you who regularly walk three to five miles, I salute you and I think maybe, just maybe, you're nuts.
Getting ready to leave EARLY on Thursday morning for Florida -- it's amazing the "maintenance" -- it takes more and more each year. Don't you just hate that?
Gorgeous day here, lots of sun, high of 61 so it'll be a wondrous walk, don't know where yet.
I'll take photos of Florida -- the Gulf, which is warm like a bathtub and there are no waves and that's strange. Gorgeous long beach. Good walks will be had.

Thursday, 27th January -- Goodness, this is a real toss-up: Rams or 49ers; Chiefs and Bengals I'm still thinking about this -- will post manana. You give it a bit of thought as well -- we'll see who's luckier.
Gorgeous here today, well, like most days actually, neither too cold nor too warm -- high today is 61 degrees with lots of sun shining down on my head when hiking and singing the ancient tiptoe through the tulips -- who sang that magnificent ditty?
Does everyone have free weights? If not, get a couple of 5 pounders, okay? It's time to get those bis and tris in shape, don't want any bat wings on your precious body. But you know, what's good is the isometric -- stand straight, arms straight down at your sides, press arms down slowly and feel the tris then up again, repeat until you're thinking about tip toeing through the tulips Now, keeping your head straight, slowly turn your head to the left then slow back to center, then slow to the right -- and hold a bit. If you hear some snap and crackle, slow down and be sure to do this each day before you hang it up for the night.

Wednesday, 19th January -- Gorgeous day -- well, in spirit it is -- right now, foggy and quite chilly, but that'll change -- Sun, where are you? Are you coming? We will assume the best. It's always more fun to hike with the sun bright overhead.
Yep, we're picking every game in the play-offs. I'll post for the weekend tomorrow morning.
To date I'm: 58-36
So many of you have better scores which means you're either very lucky or you're working with Caesars in Las Vegas and you're a pro.
Today is strange for me -- again, the book is off to the editor and I'm sort of walking around the house, now gathering up Christmas decorations in my office. Everything looks bare, but you do get used to it, right? Sooner or later? It's tough to remember where everything goes ---
Big hike today -- well, big hike yesterday too, two and a half miles, which is what I like to do -- how about you? What are you limits? Or do you have anything?
Don't forget your nightly leg-lifts!!!!

Tuesday, 18th January -- Wild Card Weekend -- I ended up 5-1. The Cardinals didn't show up. last night. It was really distressing to watch them, as if they didn't even know what game they were playing. On the other hand, I was so proud of Matthew Stafford (QB Rams) -- he was just excellent. It was a pleasure to watch the team play.
I'll post this weekend's games on Thursday.
I do think the very best QB this past weekend was Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills -- it was a perfect game. He and the team continue to play like that and they'll win the super bowl.
High of 55 here today, perfect hiking weather. So many of you in bitter, bitter winter conditions -- please stay safe and warm and cuddle with your critters or your other half if they're good cuddlers.
I'm writing a short essay about how I got started writing the Grayson Sherbrooke novellas -- depending on where it ends up, I'll post it here or maybe even put it in a newsletter. Evidently the hardcover and paperback of the 5 novellas have already been printed, so that's out. Boo.
Everyone, out and about, if you're able, but maybe 2 feet of snow would make it tough to walk very far -- so I'll have your spirits with me. So no outside, get on your bike and do 40 minutes, all right?

Thursday, 6th January -- Of all things rain yesterday so no walk! Don't you just hate it when you have plans and they're exploded? Oh well, whining is boring to everyone so I'll shut my trap.
The weirdest thing -- the Warriors simply didn't come to the game last night. They didn't look like a team, they looked like a bunch of strangers out on the court, turning the ball over constantly and yet again Curry couldn't do anything. He did shoot one three-pointer so his record of at least one three a game is intact -- over one 160 games now -- all in all, it was a sad performance. Tonight they play the Pelicans in New Orleans. I do hope something positive changes.
There now, I've whined about two things. Hmm, time to pull out the positive side of my brain -- Hey, it's going to be a gorgeous day, despite maybe snow or rain or hail or just plain misery in your part of the world. It's still wonderful to breathe and sing and kiss everyone in your house -- don't do that to strangers though, no telling what could happen, most of it not good.
All of you, SBB on the stairs, and stand in front of the bathroom mirror, stripped down, and stick your arms out straight to the sides -- slowly now, roll arms forward 12 times, then back 12 times -- do this until your muscles yell at you to stop. It's a great thing to do -- Carpe Diem!!

Wednesday, 5th January -- Lo and Behold, it's a brand new year -- I'm still amazed, and still optimistic the omicron rings in the last of Covid --well, not completely we'll still have yearly shots, just like for the flu. But wouldn't it be great?!!!. I'm still projecting Feb. 1st --
We have the Warriors playing Dallas Mavericks today -- all digits crossed, all hopes raised.
No rain here today, so a nice long hike, maybe out to the ocean, and it's nice and chilly so I won't sweat through my socks -- all right, I'm kidding.
I finished editing the first denouement yesterday, getting to the second today with Kirra and Griffin. I didn't tell you, but Kirra is an Aborigine name, she spent her growing up years there. Ha, you say, but why was she there? That's enough of a teaser.
Everyone, out you go, don't forget, walking rather than sitting on your butt -- dancing is better, but if you can't do that, outside and walk, get that body nice and healthy and fit. Remember the key: a 6" dessert plate, ONE HELPING -- and you'll find aches and pains and high blood pressure, -- whatever -- gets totally better the more fit you get. Everyone on board?

Tuesday, 4th January -- 2022!!!! -- now we have to get used to writing the new year, always a shock at first. We got nice heavy mist going here this morning, and fog so thick I can't see beyond the cypress branches. A bit of rain this morning -- YEA! -- My day isn't exciting, sorry -- editing and editing and walking (if it's not raining) and more editing. Being careful like all of you, don't want to catch Omicron -- it's like the flu, right? And who wants the flu? More than a million cases reported yesterday which means maybe another 5 million people had it but were asymptomatic or didn't report and that's sort of difficult with testing so hard to come by. So, take care, and in another two weeks, it's going to fall -- fall, fall and we'll get all done with Covid. Am I a dreamer? Hey, I'm science!
When you stop laughing, think about if I'm right, what will you do? Where will you go? Who will you visit? And shopping -- what fun.
I forgot to mention the High Cholesterol Factory -- ah, to be inside once again --
Do you think the airlines are finally emailing/texting people their flight is canceled so don't come to the airport? Or are they doing their usual crap, letting you come, then saying, sorry. Those of you who've had scheduled flights canceled, let me know how your airline handled it.
Everyone, out and about today unless you'd be rained on, snowed on, hailed on, spit on -- no wait, that doesn't count, you just spit back. Take my spirit with you, please.

Thursday, 30th December -- Phew, getting close - I gotta say, we're usually here at home, no big parties, simply a night that's lovely with champagne when the Ball goes down, and that's about it. I hope you guys are a bit more exciting -- or not. I really like just lazing around.
No Thursday night football game. Week 17 all happens on Sunday. I'll post my picks tomorrow, really haven't checked out who's playing.
No rain today which means a nice hike followed by a trip to See's Candies -- always get three boxes to give out on New Year's Day -- who on earth doesn't go nuts over See's? We we go back east, always take See's since they don't have them back there, poor babies.
Our reservoirs are now over 90 percent!!!!! Big huge Yea! Lots and lots of snow in the Sierras which means the skiing should be phenomenal.
Everyone, let's all start singing Auld lang syne today on our respective walks. I want to hear your beautiful spirit voice singing along with me.
