Tuesday, 29th March -- See, I can get the date right -- (I did, however, check with the lower right hand corner of the computer and double check.)
All of you with the month ending with a roaring lion, I really do suggest you consider moving south. I personally don't know how you can stand dripping snow down your neck in March. I know, I know, family, jobs, schools and you know where Pottery Barn is.
Work as always then a hike and then going over Reckoning gallies -- I'm starting to think the book is pretty good. I can tell when I stop looking for crappy little mistakes and READ fast to see what happens next even though I know and I know, that sounds strange.

Thursday, 24th March -- Next week is the change over from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer -- this is clothes and bedding. It's such fun to see stuff you haven't seen for so very long. It's like everything's new -- and giveaway time too.
Newsletter out today, so you should get it Friday, hopefully, if your server cooperates. If you don't get it, remember, look in spam -- that's really humiliating to be tossed into spam, let me tell you.
Eli snuggled with me last night, then when I turned over, he hurrumphed and left.
Describing the incredible clothes people wore in 1566 -- you really don't want to because they're so incredibly silly looking and UNCOMFORTABLE.. It would have taken hours to dress, well, if you weren't a peasant. Thank heavens we live today -- no yards and yards of heavy material. those outlandish ruffs and men looking so ridiculous in tights and puffy clothes -- Did you know Queen Elizabeth I at one point (she was older) showed her bosom at dinner? I kid you not.
Everyone, up and at 'em -- do whatever you can in your physical therapy. You have other problems? Google exercises you can do, okay? For example, there's lots of stuff you can do sitting on a chair all of you ready to hike/walk and swing your arms and whistle or sing, come with me, at least your spirit --

Tuesday, 22nd March -- YEA!!! You wouldn't believe the crap to go through to try to figure this out -- I won't bore you with all the stuff and the dead ends and the sheer frustration that brings forth multitudinous four-letter words.
Okay, it's a brilliant Tuesday -- lots of fun, high today 71 degrees -- the first time -- I hope all of you in the frozen tundra are about out from under all the white stuff and can kick down the cobblestones and look for some fun (Yep, that's a song).
Working on Grayson, well, beginning really late what with all the Facebook crap -- Do you know that Mary Queen of Scotland, returned from France when she was only 18? Her mother-in-law (for a very brief period) was Catherine de Medici -- I'll bet she was glad to get out of town.
Today, it's a hike down by the Bay at Cavallo Point and then up on the ridge -- short sleeves, maybe some shorts --
What's up with you guys today, other than a brisk walk/hike on this gorgeous March day?

Thursday, 10th March -- Oh my, what excitement -- FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS OUR HOUSEHOLD GROUP is going to the High Cholesterol Factory!!!!!! today for lunch. That will mean hamburger sliders and avocado egg rolls -- (well, for moi) what kind of cheesecake? We all order one slice and everyone has a couple of bites so therefore, NO CALORIES.
Work this morning and guess what? I'm starting back at the beginning of the Grayson Sherbrooke novella -- I screwed it all up, wasn't exciting, and that's a huge NO NO. The start came to me while lying in bed thinking, petting Eli, thinking -- and no, he wasn't at all helpful with the novella.
No hike today -- but that means the bike, watching basketball having Alexa timing me.
So, all good here -- now, I hope all of you are feeling good and if you're not, you're taking smart care of injuries or aches and pains. If weather permits, get out there and walk and I'll be with you in spirit.

Tuesday, 8th March -- Oh What a Beautiful Morning, oh what --- hmm, another song ready to burst forth. Now we'll all have that in our brains all day -- well, it could be rap so don't complain.
I'm kicking myself because I went with what I thought was logical to happen in the novella without checking -- come to find out I was COMPLETELY wrong, so lots of rewriting. Many writers spend lots of time researching before they write, but I've never been able to do that, it would drive me nuts -- I have to write, have to write. So when I get to a spot in a book where I don't know something, that's when I research it. Well, in this case, I thought I did know what happened and didn't check it out and have paid the price. But who cares in the long scheme of things? I think about the time I've wasted and then I think about all those poor people in Ukraine and realize my problems are nothing at all. My sister-in-law owns an apartment in Budapest and we're trying to figure out how to find a family to stay there, if they can get to Budapest. Other Ukrainians are staying with families in Poland. Who saw the little girl singing Frozen in Ukrainian? one hundred women and children were underground -- it was heart wrenching -- and when she finished everyone clapped.
Okay, tell me what you're up to today, where you're going to hike to keep your bod fit and strong and delicious. Come with me, in spirit, we'll walk to the ocean.

Thursday 3rd March -- Thank you for all your wonderful comments about THE EDGE. I'll never forget writing the rain forest -- I spent time with someone who lived in the rain forest -- something else, I'll tell you.
It's a beautiful Thursday -- work, of course, learning more about Mary Queen of Scots, and then a lovely hike -- I know, I know, sounds BORING -- possibly -- but it is the work week. What are you guys up to today? Please make it fun and filled with laughs.

Wednesday, 2nd March -- I now know Coots or mudhens aren't ducks, go figure. They're mudhens because they like to play in muddy marshes. Not when I saw them on Monday -- lovely clean Bay water.
Okay, it's gorgeous here, a bit of cloudiness, which is nice, but NO RAIN -- come on, folks, it's time for you to really get into the chants and rain dances. The weather minions, I heard, are currently discussing whether or not to give us a few buckets. You can make the difference.
Outside today, all of us, winging our way, perhaps to the muddy marshes, to wallow with the mudhens.

Wednesday, 23rd February -- I hope everyone saw the announcement of VORTEX out in paperback. You have a big pocket, a regular sized purse, you're in business. It's small but the print is good-sized, so you can carry it anywhere with no problem. If you haven't read VORTEX, now's your chance. Keep me posted.
Work as always -- and yes, the conundrum I faced in Grayson Sherbrooke's novella solved itself -- I was reading about Queen Mary of Scots and there it was, the solution in one small sentence. Isn't happenstance wonderful?
It was cold here yesterday -- I know if you're in Canada or Minnesota or just about anywhere that's not the south you're shaking your head at me, thinking I'm pitiful. Hmm, maybe you're right. It'll be warmer today, high of 56 degrees and that's perfect if you move briskly.
Everyone do the abs exercise? If you can, make it a nightly thing, takes no time and will tighten your abs right up.

Tuesday, 22nd February -- What an incredible day it's going to be. Yep, the sun is shining, it's cool, the workers on the patio are nearly finished (great group, hard workers), the novella has hit a brief snag, that is, who is actually behind all the troubles? All in all, it's a fine way to start out writing, so many directions to go depending on what comes into my brain -- which is, sometimes, a grave disappointment, but on the other hand I'm never bored.
What are you guys up to today? Going to have lunch and a fun afternoon with your other half or maybe a lover? If not your other half or a lover, then spending time with friends? Of course other halfs should be friends too. Now why did I get off on that? Forgive me, my brain's in Edinburgh trying to figure out the curse with the blood red moon. Hmm.
Walk today, that's right, even if it's cold, bundle up and get out there and enjoy yourself. Before you go, lie on your back on the floor or a mat or on the bed. Up slow with one leg (straight) and lower slowly, feeling your abs. If you want, you can bend the other knee. This is stretching and ab work, so do it right and as many times as you can.

Friday, 18th February -- My birthday party today -- what fun. Now, several of you have told me my birthday isn't the 14th of February, it's December 26. This is true. If you have a birthday close to Christmas you know it's not fun. Marry Christmas Happy Birthday -- BOO -- for a kid this really sucks plus who wants more dessert and presents? So when I was 12, my parents told me to pick any day I wanted for my birthday and so I selected Valentine's Day -- I mean, can you do better than that? And so it's been practically all my life. I strongly recommend if you have kids born really close to and close after Christmas to do this, makes a huge difference, will make you child feel as special as they should on their birthday.
It's a gorgeous Friday, Putin hasn't invaded the Ukraine yet, the sun is shinning and I'm going to have a Chocolate Pecan Kringle and no, not tacos, that's tomorrow, but Chicago deep dish pizza and BBQ ribs.
I don't know if after this meal even my spirit will be up to walking with you. We'll see.
