Wednesday the 7th February -- did everyone get the newsletter? If not, email me at ReadMoi@gmail.com and I'll get it to you.
J.T. Ellison is here -- as I told you yesterday, we're brainstorming the 6th BRIT in the FBI -- I can't believe (she can't either) how much we accomplished yesterday. So, no worries here, all fun, well, lots of brain mining and sometimes you forget the great idea you were going to spit out, and that's always a disconcerting bummer, but all good so far.
Today, folk, you're going to take a 5-minute snooze with legs straight up the wall, your butt as close as you can get, arms relaxed at your sides. Lie there all boneless and relaxed, empty out your brain (at least slow it down), then start with your toes and work up to the top of your head -- stretch, twist, turn, whatever -- work each part of your body. Then it's SBB and it's time for your very favorite thing in the world, CARDIO --

Friday, 2nd February -- Wow, Friday's here for another visit. but Friday just left and is already back again? Ain't that great? Today we give it our all (work, exercise, pleasantness) because tomorrow begins the lovely Super Bowl Weekend. So who do you pick? Patriots or Eagles?
Had a very vocal owl, a coyote looking for that owl, and an Uber in the driveway this morning. The trifecta of interesting combinations -
You guys gave me many reasons to love February -- lots and lots of birthdays -- including mine on Valentine's Day -- so, joy and fun will be had this very short, flimsy, but excellent month.
Cardio hard today, people, don't just go through the motions, you know, on the bike, just sort of pedaling, ho hum, no umph in it at all. Nope, burn those calories, get that heart pumping and do intervals (slow a couple of minutes, then fast and repeat) Make sure you stretch that gorgeous bod before you start working those muscles --

Thursday, 1st February -- who had trouble spelling February when young? I probably asked my mother 3 dozen times before my brain finally accepted crazy spelling. Okay, here we go -- February, the meager month, the one barely hanging on by its place on the calendar by its toe nails, the poor month that couldn't even make thirty before flopping over and giving it up. Let's make it a valuable month, okay? Let's give February meaning this year, give it a bit of gravitas and substance, so we'll remember it as being good in the long year stretch. And let's all try to spell it right.
You'll see in my EVENTS BOX I'll be speaking at the Savannah Book Festival on the 17th of February (Saturday at 10:00 a.m., then signing books) Don't forget the 100 mile rule -- you're within that lovely circle and it's your responsibly and sacred duty to present yourself to me and introduce yourself and smile real big. I would very much like to meet you. Lots of authors will be there. Go to the web site and check it out, then make your plans. See you Saturday the 17th. (The Savannah Book Festival Minions are loathe to accept excuses, just FYI).
Today, it's hard CARDIO, for your heart, for your bod, for how folk look at you and think "wow, you are totally fit and gorgeous" -- and your heart is singing, "I'll keep pumping for you, sweetheart, don't worry."
Always, Shoulder Blades Back, feet straight, gut in --

Wednesday, 31st January: Bye bye, January, you were a fine month, and a nice long one. And now you're history and people will always talk about you in the past tense. Sigh. Okay, I'm sure this week it is indeed Wednesday, not Tuesday, not Thursday, my brain synapses are intact, revved up, nearly smokin'. Got lots of stuff to do today besides working on the Grayson Sherbrooke third otherworldly mystery. When I finish this one, get it up on Ebook, I'm going to see if the publisher considers the three novellas today long enough to be a paperback. I hope so, that would be very cool and nice for all of you who prefer hardcopy vs. ereads.
Today you're going to stand up and stretch, and, when you're nice and warmed up, wiggle a bit, maybe dance to some music, do some good moves, be wild and cut loose, dancing around that living room or kitchen or driveway, put on a show, You can even sing while you're moving around. Let yourself be free and have some fun with it -- if you have an audience, don't forget to smile really big. After your impromptu wiggling (dancing) do your CARDIO and your anti-bat wing exercises. Don't forget SBB, feet forward and gut in -

Tuesday, 30th of January:
Finished with THE SIXTH DAY galleys -- sending all corrected pages back today (about 3 inches thick) -- what a job, there was so much. Why? Because we pushed this book through faster than usual and when this happens, bad stuff always sneaks in, like inconsistencies, information given twice, you name it, I fell into it, but all is well now. And The Sixth Day has a great cover.
I hope all of you CARDIOed yesterday without my carping at you. Right? You're all loaded with virtue., chin high. Right? Today, because it's simply a part of your schedule, part of your life, something you never consider NOT DOING, get out there and run, walk, bike -- whatever, and do it with enthusiasm, this is your body, your heart, your life. Do not forget whenever you take a step anywhere, SBB, feet straight, gut in. Everyone on-board?

Friday 26th of January -- Coming to the end of the month and it makes my wheels skid to think about how fast time whips by. Are all of you cool and collected? Dealing with crap in a logical smart way? Not stressing out? Stressing out is the WORST thing you can do, so if what I said doesn't work, ask people what they do about stress. YOU DO NOT WANT IT, okay?
Yesterday, at the Cheesecakel Factory all if did indeed order what we always order -- oh sigh -- and that menu is HUGE, still --What fun -- and then a Kringle (at home) for dessert -- if you've never had a Kringle, order one from O&H Bakery (I think it's in Wisconsin, I'm not sure) and they send it to you. So many kinds of pure wonderful sin.
End of the week exercise, to prepare you for excitement and pure pleasure manana -- so CARDIO your brains out, sweat even although I personally hate to sweat), whip those bat wings into shape and never never forget SBB -- gut in, feet straight ahead. Make it your mantra -- Happy Friday

My Time Machine assured me it was Wednesday, the 24th of January -- A fine day here in Sausalito, rain, sun, and a sunrise to die for. Yes, I'm looking at all the pinks and oranges outside the window. I hope everyone went out yesterday and smiled and did something or said something nice. If you didn't, if you were inside with the flu or a pizza, get out there today. Time to hook up -- give a free compliment to someone you know or a stranger, doesn't matter -- and think a moment how good it made you feel. Now think of how good it made the other person feel. At the gym yesterday I saw a guy doing very difficult pull ups -- I told him it was beautiful and it was true. His eyes lit up. So go find your own beautiful today and tell it so.
After CARDIO, no, no, do not whine, it's very unappetizing, you want to do arm rolls, slowly, back twelves times, then forward. SLOW, people, feel those muscles working both ways. What a fine day this will be.

Wednesday, 23rd of January: And it's the huge big marvelous middle of the week. Wednesdays are so cool -- sort of a mystery day. I mean, there's the regular stuff you always do on Wednesday, but there's usually something extra too, like a phone call from a friend you haven't heard from in too long, an unexpected invite to lunch (pick Mexican!), but the thing is, who knows? So when you're going about your business, be aware that something is going to pop up and surprise you. And if it doesn't, you ask? Why then, YOU be the surprise for a friend, a family member --
CARDIO is a very good thing. It's about the best thing you can do for yourself, so DO NOT kiss it off. I usually do the same two things (bike and tread mill) but if you want to mix it up, that's excellent. Do not forget bat wings, gotta keep those nasties off your bod –
Oh oops! My Time Machine screwed up (no, of course it's not my fault) -- If you think it's Wednesday (like my post announced) then your time machine screwed up too. It's Tuesday, guys, so it's the precious day BEFORE surprise Wednesday. Now, I'm getting back in my Time Machine and making repairs -- hope you had a good laugh --

Friday, 19th of January -- all of you who have so far escaped from being felled by the flu, USE PURELL. Buy a bottle or two or three and have everyone you deal with every day use it, often. This is a really scary time -- so many of you have told me hospitals in your areas are closed down, no beds available. So, hunker down and protect yourself and your family. If there's lots of flu in your area and you've escaped so far, you might consider keeping your kids/grand kids out of school -- As with all crap, this too shall pass, but it ain't fun, that's for sure.
I've made a recommendation to my publisher to ask if Barnes & Noble will want tip sheets for PARADOX and if they do, then announce it for pre-orders. Many of you last year pre-ordered ENIGMA, then B&N announced signed copies were available, but alas, you couldn't exchange. So, hopefully, everyone will agree it's a good idea. I'll keep you posted.
Are you ready to hate me? MASSAGE today by the most amazing masseuse in the known and unknown universe. This means the bod feels like jello for the rest of the day and night. And you're smiling and can't stop and look stupid and you don't care. So if a massage is possible, then do it. The bod, the brain, the spirit -- it's the trifecta.
Today, it's really heavy cardio -- that's right, no reading a book on the tread mill or the bike and not paying any attention, you really want to go for it. Okay, let's compromise, do this: 3 minutes really hard, then ease up and read if you wish, then go back and forth for 30 minutes, minimum. All on board?

Wednesday, 17th of January: January newsletters goes out today. If you're signed up and don't receive it in the next couple of days, email me at ReadMoi@gmail.com and I'll zip you a copy.
What an odd month this has been so far -- first, it's whizzing by far too fast, but this weather? I'm wondering if you folk back east have been naughty, well, given the temperatures, maybe you've been downright wicked. Possible? If so, I do hope you had fun and didn't hurt anybody.
Working on the Grayson Sherbrooke novella -- still can't come up with a title -- but it will come, it always does, thankyoupowersthatbe.
Today, all of us are going to shine with VIRTUE. We're going to stretch and cardio, indoors or out, doesn't matter, just MOVE and keep moving for a half hour. If you don't move, you will grow mold and have you ever smelled mold? Not good, so obey. Also, in January, bat wings are trying to settle in because their rationale is they're covered up since it's so cold. DO NOT LET BAT WINGS MOVE IN. Do those arm rolls in front of the mirror whenever you're in the bathroom -- just one set and by the end of the day you've probably got half a dozen.
Go forth and light up a life or two -

Halloween's coming up fast, the day the zombies burst out of the ground and terrify the crap out of us, not to mention eat our candy and eat our brains.
Update on BOMBSHELL, the 17th FBI Thriller: I'm nearly finished with the edit. The cover is very cool, explodes with eye-popping color. BOMBSHELL is set in Maestro, Va., (the setting of the 10th FBI thriller, POINT BLANK) and in Washington.
JEWEL OF THE LION (first thriller in A Brit in the FBI series partnered with J.T. Ellison). JEWEL moves fast and you don't know what's going to happen on the next page, and you're biting your toenails or a zombie's toenails. J.T. is an excellent plotter and that means when we brainstorm no plot gets left behind.
Alas, no kids want candy enough to crawl up our oxygen-deprived steep driveway, and the sad thing is, I still have a big bowl of candy, every year, but no one comes, not even the zombies with brain bags.
Take care, Catherine
