Picked this up solely based on the number of friends who enjoyed it, without knowing anything about the theme.

Sitting in quarantine in a world in standstill the story feels far more “real” than anything else I have read recently, it’s impossible not to speculate on what ifs all the time.

I have never had so much available time for reading before, no commute and no visits from friends and family and still....

I read far less than normal, turns out the annoying daily routines helps structure my reading as well.

The structure and narrative style took some getting used to, but it’s growing on me

Totally classic Bryson from his golden period, narrated by himself.

I'm listening to this walking my dog in the desolate streets, in these Corona Isolation times, laughing out loud at times, which is just what i need at this time.

Entering 2. Week of quarantine and home work, thank god (or someone) for books, music and long overdue renovation works in the house

Feels a little close to home with an pandemic, these days, but anyway it’s great so far.

Total Agatha Christie vibe and then some

“Story of your life” pops immediately into my head, but of course Mieville does it his own way.

The first part, filling out some details from Mary’s childhood, is probably most interesting for hard core fans of the series, but it steady grow on you and becomes interesting.

It's impressive how diverse these novels are and yet still manages to keep a core that keeps the series together

Classic Brown, Robert Langdon back in shape, might be the best since Angels & Demons

Stave one completed, Marley has been to see Scrooge and the scene is set for the first ghost.

Every bit as enjoyable in print as in film, cartoon, audiobook and plays.

A mixed bag of goods, not all the stories makes me tick.

Jackson is definitely an accomplished writer, but she’s also an acquired taste.

The very last stories, it’s a bittersweet experience, half of me don’t want it to end and the other half recognise that the well is drying out and it’s time to stop.

Interesting stories, especially the longer ones, like “the garden”, but suffering somewhat from being read back to back.
Here halfway through, I make a break and try to squeeze in the remaining stories once in a while.

Cleverly crafted stories, working more with atmosphere and suggestions than effects and action.

As always the short story format troubles me a little, especially in this anthology format, these stories are clearly not meant to be read all in a row and I would definitely enjoy them more if I read one once in a while, unfortunately that’s not how my reading schedule and audio books works.

An interesting mix of hard scientific facts presented objectively and some very biased personal opinions from the writer, there’s definitely some kind of political agenda here, just not sure which yet.

Interesting even though it's a little predicable and has a lot of horses in it (Horses are really not my thing)

Written before "Cloud Atlas" but easy to see the inspiration, even though Ghostwritten is very much it's own.
Effortless interweaving story lines, tied together with clever strings and always leaving us with a very vivid and clear picture of the characters no matter how brief the segment.

Lost my Kindle on a plane last week, Again !.

Found this novel in the Kindle library on my IPad, bought it a long time ago because I loved Stewards Arthurian novels.

A reread from my early teenage days, somehow this and “on the beach” are the 2 Shute novels I remember clearly.

So far this one doesn’t disappoints

Definitely not in the target group for this one, but it’s not bad at all, apart from the author laying it on a little to thick at times and over explaining what most readers understood 100 pages back.
