Lady Evara is most intriguing. I wondered what was going on. Their plan to reborn the emperor is a good one. And Raia realizing about forcing the emperor to be reborn a kehok was obvious, so I’m glad someone realized. This is a little long. It’s starting to drag.

How great is Lili?! It was a sort of a bittersweet ending. Though uncle Archie is the best.

This is do good! I love how believable the kid’s roles are in this spy thriller for middle school readers!

End of part 1... not sure a kehok as a vessel is going to fly. Our emperor to be may still be in trouble. I did like how Yorbel get the kehok in his custody, that was smart. And Verlas betting to get her money for her daughter’s tuition was clever too. I like how this kehok is different and even spoke to Raia. Though she hasn’t realized yet.

Turns out this is about bullying. Yano, sure enough, grins because she’s afraid, not because she’s happy. A boy who likes hurting others comes to the school at night. He makes a new ability to swallow things to hide Yano. Surprisingly agirl says the popular jovial boy is bad...?!

Yano is fascinating! He can make a shadow clone and breathe fire.

Cute contemporary read

Super cute

Truly gripping with its uneasy perfect world and a girl who is unsatisfied with it... for the wrong reasons. As she makes a friend she starts to learn more about the realities around her... about why her brother Jeb really is a hero and her friend isn’t dirty, deceiving or despicable.

She’s such a curious girl! The mix of religious persecution is fascinating and makes for a compelling motivation for murder. Also the damo perspective is neat. I like her puppy love for inspector Han.

Fascinating... about a police damo or a female indentured servant who has to be the go between for the inspector and any women. So she moves corpses, interviews servants etc.

Awww ending 9n a romantic front. Fascinating. This will be a cute little series.

The dinner to bond with the twins was adorable!

Oooh finally the rap battle that I knew was coming. The blind vote was the only way she could have won. Even Rocky has to admit eventually she’s better than him. Loved this section. Even the hint of romance between Gigi and Shine...?!

I really liked this section as she meets SKS8 and is ostracized by the other girls. The outcome of that was shocking and rather abrupt. The pacing is too swift and the transitions abrupt. But I really love the difficulties she’s going through and how she keeps trying.

I like this girl but the drama with her mama was a little easily handled. Still I like that she didn’t try to go above her somehow.

Pretty odd but also poignant.

Awww poor Iridium is so bullied. Such a dreamer but in a different way from Rosa. Jessica finally responded to Peter. Rosa is jealous Iridium got to see the hyena.

Rosa is my favorite sister I think. She’s so precocious and I love her religious bent despite the rest of her family. Poor Jessica is in such a bad abusive relationship. I really feel for her. Iridium is cute that she’s scared of her sister’s ghost but also is creative enough to want to be a writer. It’s kind of ironic.

Welp that was pretty good. Even though things developed swiftly relationship wise I really loved how quickly the plot moved. This didn’t end on a cliffhanger which is nice. The series is about different couples so it works better for me now that I know that.

This section we find ourselves in an unexpected place revisiting our dragon’s past. It’s a bit boring actually. I read the first half of the book quickly but this just slowed the whole thing down. Probably because their love affair feels super quick and advanced. Particularly our dragon who should have some trust issues?!

I really hate how this is written. It’s making me want to avoid reading again. The info dumping is worse than its ever been. Yet it’s just as creative. I love the spelltech magic, the Filipino culture, the not love interests main characters. It’s not captured me and the story already feels drawn out.

Pretty neat fairy read. Things switch too fast and just to get the next plot point but I’m still enjoying it. The carpet ride and accidental wish was fun. Oh and we got sexy time between our girl and her dragon,
