How much further will Amber allow getting abused physically & psychologically, while still being insufferably mean ?!?????

Amber is insufferable !! Nicci is useless and irritating, and Scott should have been removed from the plot about 1000 pages ago !! Should I strive to go on...? This seems to be moving nowhere.

It's a whole new World out there in Space... and yet OF COURSE there's fat shaming...!

Amber is insufferable ! She's mean to those weakest, and a doormat against those who hold power. Very angsty vibe; foreshadowing of (even more) disaster...

This starts out with too much angst !!

How is this Darcy "honorable" if he keeps Lizzy sequestered in secret under his care, he doesn't allow her to leave, isolates her from her family, friends and his servants, and uses her illness to remove her clothes and personally see to her chamberpot -- this is beyond textbook hurt/comfort !! This is plain ridiculous !!

After the 60% mark the story takes a turn towards originality and hope, veering away from darkness, sordidness & despair. The final portion is indeed more thorns than roses, but some pieces were mended to qualify for version of a HEA

Dark, angsty, upsetting, unsatisfactory so far... Spoiler alert from the Rebecca references, I fear Pemberly will end up burning down, clumsy closure brought on, and a tainted, faded second-hand "happiness" will be achieved in poverty, in years to come, away from Derbyshire... I hope I am mistaken !!

It seems to be setting the stage for Rebeecca-meets-P&P; very strange choice !!

Eighth story: Northanger Abbey contemporary, strangely, this adaptation is presented and unfinished, it expanda more on scene setting than on any narrative arc or actual character bonding

Fourth story: P&P variation on a masquerade, cute and predictable
Fifth story: supernatural P&P variation, a delightful alternate encounter at Pemberley
Sixth story: Anne de Bough + Cnel Fitzwilliam go to Sanditon, fun holiday twist
Seventh story: random contemporary tale, no conection to Austen, the summer theme or holidays at all

Third story: Darcy's sexual education pre Lizzie, strange choice and barely linked to the standard subsequent P&P

First story: P&P on the coast, farcical and cute
Second story: modern take on Persuasion, heartbraking and unnecessary painful to read

Actions that make no sense and are not in any way justified. Crucial portrayal of a ward who is unbalanced and mysteriously tolerated by everyone with unfathomable leniency and deference. Cruel and unregulated Darcy; prompts public humiliation on Elizabeth for no reason, initiates unforgivable actions which are later on unexplicably forgiven...
Strange depictions of quick travels & lightspeed mail distribution.

It would have 3 stars, but then at the end the author makes a HUGE blunder of calling a daughter of a Baronet as "Lady" -- rookie mistake !!

Too convoluted, too nonsensical, too angsty !! It's giving me heartburn and zero enjoyment so far...

87% in and still hating the plot, Brenna & the overall depressing, angsty feel of it...

Halfway through the book and Darcy's brain is as addled and uncertain as at the begining.... he's a total pushover who has a mental age of 10 and is NOT capable to make any decisions, he just goes along with anyone and his aurroundings literally "blur" very very often...

This Firzwilliam is a dumb push-over and the moat passive, boring character !!! Frustrating to read...

This is a gloomy tale of how Darcy fell out of love with the dullest, dumbest Lizzy !
