The Goodreads Choice Awards in their Romance category look to me to be quite biased, narrow and homogenous... I'm quite dissapointed with this lately !!

There is something really horrible going on now and I tell you, stars are dropping from this rating...!!

I really *hate* it when there's soo much lost time for the main couple for NO reason ! It gives me real heartache and then whatever makeup goes in later tastes bitter anyway... I hope this can be mended, 'cause I'm loosing all hope.

D&E keep doing out-of-character things, expecting outcome A (even being totally illogical and not period appropriate), and then regret whatever outcome B there was 🙈😭

Why do some of these stories start with an interesting blurb and aftet the prologue soon descend into plain ridiculous... there's not even a simple attempt at keeping logic.

I can already tell this is not going to work...!! 😭

It's never ok to confuse:
- astronomy / astrology
- altar / alter
- navel / naval

This far into the story and D is still (unsuccessfully) looking for a private moment to speak freely with E... 🙈😭

Interesting start. Now it's dragging... let's see how it goes!

Too simple, summarized and one dimensional, yet quite long! Off-character dialogue & actions, also not period appropriate in many points.
Ridiculous is too harsh, but very close...

It all went down the rabbit hole into the attempted kidnapping, villanous plotting and comedy of errors way...
Also, a "compromise"' does not work as this author things it does 🤔🙈

A good start and plenty of cute romantic moments. Later on it turns comedic, lots of standard unoriginal drama. About now the focus is surprisingly all on Jane's love interests (whaaaat...??).

Illogical, actions not period appropriare, very slow yet in farsical tone. Characters think & act in divergent mystifying ways... will I gather my strength to finish this??

So far a lot of tension building up and some angst. Most of it is from D's perspective and E is portrayed as more an object of interest than a subject/agent.
Let's see how it goes -- it is a long read!

This second installment is actually worse than the first one... 55% in and no plot but misunderstandings and life altering blunders... no respect for the original character's basic make-up, and no care for them -- was this book written to punish and hate on the Mansfield cast...?? 🤔😭

Dear authors; please stop naming Regency characters "Francine"... the appropriate variant for an English 19th Century woman is "Frances" 😐.

This is torture -- all miserable people making others miserable and a "heroine" too demure to step out of it.

The anthology is fantastic; yet why of why do some of the men in this historical universe have mistresses and ongoing flirtations while the main "romance" is going on?? That would not back any notion of true feeling, or future faithfulness... I cannot process that little detail... 🙈😭

Yeap, 80% into the story the "hero" still goes on the prowl to Covent Garden to pick up dancers & actresses for his nighttime pleasures... 😭😭😭.
