I liked the first one and this was cheap. Why not?

Eh. At this point, I've reached an object lesson in "show" don't "tell." In this case, where the protagonist has to tell me why she can't commit to a relationship, when it would work so much better to fold this kind of stuff into an actual interaction with the guy. Since I already hit the 45% mark this quick, this prolly won't go the DNF route though.

Dear Author, the correct usage is "rein in," not "reign in." Grrrrrr. Major pet peeve for this horse person.

Still plugging along doggedly with this. The pacing would improve if it would just stick to one timeline. OTOH, Locke and his fellow Bastards are loveable enough to keep me reading.

Picked this up free -- always a risky proposition, as least with regard to lost time reading crappola. But, so far, it's fun.

'Nother case of author with engaging voice tells a story where not much has happened (besides the romance between Patroclus and Achilles).

Won't review this because it's from one of my publishers. So ranting here. I really like, Gretchen, the heroine. Underemployed, roller derby girl with tats galore and a penchant for pin-up fashion. Also sex positive and confident. But Jared, the hero? Unsexy, unappealing, uninteresting, cardboard. Do other women really think emotionally constipated blocks of wood are hot? Because, ugh, I'm so not into this. Skimming.

Fun voice, great characters, but oy, overwritten at time. I mean, seriously? I'm only at 25% in this?

By and large, the trials and tribulations of two upper middle class women, with a young teenage boy thrown in for variety (erm, in a totally not-pedo way, mind you). Dev, said teen is pretty cool. Piper, the sorority girl type is growing on me, but still spoiled and irritating. I like Cornelia; can relate even though she'd most def not in my demographic.

Slow reading because I keep getting distracted by other things. Interesting mix of cyber-punk and mystery.

Seriously, Loki? You didn't think the teller you conjured wouldn't want something in return? Also, of course everyone in Asgard thinks bringing you home was one of Thor's stupidest moves. Sigh, the trickster is made dim by teenage hormones. :)

Short story (novella?). Clearly a sales device for the author's debut novel. Shorts aren't my cuppa, but it was free and the writing is lovely.

The Eight Dance was the very end of the...saga--it was going to settle everything-and Cath had to settle it her way first." Heh. Got the same thing going on with a fan fic I'm writing.

In which I learn that I dress like a college freshman. Hey! I like my Hot Topic's T-shirts and my pink Vans with mismatched laces. Oh well. In other news, I can so relate to Cath, who over-thinks everything to the point of inaction.
