Is it bad that I was glad when Erin's mom was killed? Because it finally meant an end to her tedious childhood. I mean, yay, war! Yeah. I'm a twisted little shit.

Getting all manner of feels for Eleanor's situation. Ugh. Hate her parents (and step-parent) so much.

Because the other books I'm reading weren't doing much for me, and this captivated me from the first page. Yep. Distracted by something shiny.

This came highly recommended by a reviewer at Goodreads, but I can't remember why. So far, it's incredibly derivative, with an overly precious storyline following the protag's (?) adolescence. Waiting for the story to start...rather bored.

Hee. Booyah for the reference to the old Rice-a-roni TV advert.

Pace is glacial, but since I totally dig the couple, that's okay. Still, something explode-y, beyond the sexy times, could happen now. Huh, huh, huh?

Nice, snappy, voice, the kind you expect in a mystery novel. A little overwritten, though.

A romance that actually takes several pages to introduce the heroine WITHOUT immediately throwing in the hero (and requisite sex thoughts on loop)? Oh, hell yeah. I'm all over that. I'm actually rooting for Kali and Fletcher.

Okie-dokie, so in the first chapter, not only does the heroine meet the hero (as per formula), but she gets a good look at his junk. *Snerk*

Interesting...the backstory on Hero's journey into one-breasted Amazon-hood.

"Yeah, Ladies go nuts for zits and a thinning hair line. I combine the worst attributes of the adolescent boys who teased them and the middle-aged husbands who left them." *Snerk* Yorick.

Marching through this quickly. Like the slow build between Aria and Perry.

So far, so good. Stuff is happening, Aria's character is getting a bit more depth, Perry's devotion to his nephew is charming.

Yawn. Still bored. Does anything ever actually happen in this book, or do Sam and Grace just stare into each others' eyes sadly for 392 pages?

Aria, the heroine seems rather one-dimensional, but Perry is kind of interesting. Okay, book, you have my attention.

Meh. Sweeney is somewhat social deficient, but does she have to also be stupid? If you've painted a gory painting of a murder scene, a crime that is currently under investigation, it's pretty boneheaded to just leave said painting out where anyone can see the damn thing. Oy.

I loved The Raven Boys, but this is reading like ever other "mysterious magical boy falls for ordinary girl" YA storyline out there. Somewhat bored, because nothing is happening.

Because the author hooked me with The Raven Boys and the library had a copy of this available.

Heh. This novel baffles me, because it's all politics and intrigue, and stuff I'm honestly not following all that well, plus the voice is pleasant, but not amazing, and yet...I keep reading.

Interesting female characters in this one, including Dawson's wife and Cithrin.

It's mighty fortunate that the last man on Earth is kind of cute. I mean, it would suck if he looked like Joe Pesci. Also, even without men, Arizona is still insane. Yeah, the state.

"I choose not to believe in any gods as an act of charity," Marcus said. "...Seems rude to think they couldn't make a world better than this."

A little slow moving at first, but interesting world with different types of humanoid races.

Can't quite commit to DNF-ing this. Sweeney is cold again; Richard is warming her up; Meh; skimming in search of non-romantic plot stuff.

"When we Eagles fans see that the kid is really upset, the mob chuckles and respectfully disperses." 'Respectfully,' my shiny brown ass. This is why I loath many sports fans. Ugh.

This gave me a "Whoa" moment, which is rare, because even though I'm not that sharp, I usually see plot twists coming.

Loki meet Leah. Knee meet nuts. Heh.

So far, the kind of "urban fantasy" I enjoy.

Because it's been adapted to screen and I'm curious. And, as usual, I bought it cheap.

Because even though cancer and dying, and the associated piss and vomit aren't my thing, the author's voice drew me in, and the protag's sardonic voice kept me reading. Also, this: "As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once."
