Ya know, the fact that I'm still reading this even though Journey Into Mystery, Vol 1 (Loki!) just arrived in the post today and is singing its siren song, says a lot.

Meh, it's Hart and Whatshername. Go away, Hart and Whatshername! Leif is a tad too into Grace already, but I still like the dynamic between the two. Hope Grace doesn't turn into flibbering idjit when the lurve happens.

Erm, honestly? Sweeney's cold attacks and Richard's rescues are boring me. Especially, the sexy bits. Skimming...let's get to the ghost and solving the murder, eh?

I hate Uncle Whatshizface. Didn't like him much before, but now I really hate him. Love the dynamic between Bee and Cat - strong female relationship - yay!

Another benefit to being able to cast a cloaking glamor -- the ability to pee discreetly, even when you're the only girl in a camp full of men.

Because if it turns out you've got a long-lost brother, he should be a huge, sabre-toothed cat.

Just so fricking glad that there hasn't been a whiff of Insta-Lust in the air in this book (so far). Probably because it's not "Romance," but such a relief to actually have a story where characters have something in their heads besides the Kama Sutra.

Strange, prickly heroine, typical alpha-male corporate tycoon type, and loads of navel gazing, but nevertheless, oddly engaging. Maybe because I have a fondness for artist protagonists.

Did I say "Mesopotamian?" I mean "Babylonian." Ugh. I haz no reading comprehen-shun. I like Norgard and Corbette, even if they are sort of the antagonists. Hart is okay when not in insta-lust mode.

So I already have a thing for Norgard's nerdy brother, Leif. What I wouldn't give for a good beta hero. Sigh. (Although, Norgard, the dragon, is sorta interesting.)

"--but sometimes, Phoebe, I feel like dumping your cholesterol-free body out the window." So sayeth Sal, and the reader agrees.

Not a bad story, interesting worldbuilding with an good mashuup of Norse, Native American and Mesopotamian mythology. Pity the love story has to intrude from time to time.

Cute so far, but maybe a little too precious.

Hart, the hero, is big, strong, and emotionally constipated. So unusual for a paranormal romance. Oh...wait. ;P

Clearly, I'm a statistical outlier, because I'm not seeing the allure of this, though it is oddly readable. Hero is a big, block of blah. Heroine, who's supposed to be kick-ass, is whiny and not in a good angsty way. Basically, she thinks she's responsible for everyone in the universe's death. At any minute I expect her to blame herself for the dead bugs on the spaceship's windshield. Sigh.

Um, pequeno problemo, tiny problem. I'm not feeling the love for the hero. "Strong, silent, humorless type" equals "ZZZzzzzzz." Also, heroine's martyr complex is irritating.

Despite a strong start, in so much as it had my interest, I find myself sort of disconnected from the characters, and the final action sequence isn't holding my attention.

Not quite sure why, but this books is taking me for-evah to read.

Public Works, The Shambling Guide's resident "Human defenders of the Earth against supernatural beasties" is oddly inept. There's a suggestion in the text as to why this is the case, but still...it's odd.

Because the ebook was too expensive, put this on hold at the library and it came in yesterday. So far, it's like crack...zooming through this sucker.

The Teras and their attack reminds me of Gears of War and the Krill, right down to the part where using the shock defense means no engine power. Heh. Finding the protag's tendency to take the blame for EVERYTHING a tad annoying. Still highly readable, though.

Purchased as a FUCK YOU to Mike Resnick and the other sexist fuckwits at SFWA. At this point, really enjoying the voice and protagonist.

The slow reveal regarding Nastya's injuries works well, emphasizing the extent of emotional trauma she suffered. And..the idea of losing the ability to make music...? Ugh...the feels I have for that.

I can so relate to Nastya's use of exercise to deal with angst. Run, run, run till all the ugly stuff is sweated out.

Well, whatdoya know? A romance where the couple actually gets to know each other and does something besides have blandy-bland, raunchy thoughts about each other? How cool is that?

Heh. Gotta love a guy who hates Nickleback. I'm warming quickly to Nichol, and Cameron's kind of cute. Nice chemistry between the two men.

I'm somewhat perplexed by how Carlotta, a former cop, could ever think the "You've won $20K" letter was ever real.

I really enjoy how the Tufas' identity, what they are, is a sloow reveal. Not wild about the romance between Bronwyn and Craig, the preacher. Just don't see them as a good match. Honestly? I think she should wait until Dwayne's jailbait brother, Terry-Joe, is of age.

Still humming along with this. Pleasant, but maybe a smidge too slow moving.

You had me at "mandolin." Seriously. Fiddle player here; if you want to engage my attention, give me an interesting protagonist who is a musician. Prolly too early to tell, but this seems...good. *Hopeful.*
