The most interesting part of the book has been the "science" behind bloodletting.

This is exactly why I can't buy Zoey as some badass fighter. All it took was Ryker leaving her alone for a short period of time for Zoey to get pistol whipped and captured.

I hope the author stops telling and starts showing me that Zoey is a badass sometime soon. At least I haven't heard her mention her street instincts lately...

Zoey....man, she couldn't even put together a sentence to save her life. Just not sure if I'm going to be a #teamzoey fan.

I haven't had a lot of success with urban fantasies lately. In all honesty, I think I've just grown bored with the genre in general. However, this book was runner up in our BotM poll AND it was available for a $1.99 audio upgrade so I'm giving it a shot. So far, well eh, we'll see. Fingers crossed!

This is really pretty good. The narrator is doing a great job :)

I have to keep reminding myself of what's going on. This book just doesn't feel focused, but then again, maybe it's me who's unfocused. Either way, I can't even remember how this all started in the first place...

So I finished book one for the sole purpose of reading this particular book. I was just thinking, "This book is for sure better than book 1 so far," when Bruna, a PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR, has to call her psyche guide to ask him why an orphaned, homeless child would keep things tied together. Really? Really? You can't figure that one out on your own? Sheesh....

I think I passed my previous stopping point. Yes! Progress, people, progress.

Did she really just say "You're not the boss of me" ???

This dialogue, I swear.

Her insults, like "rat bastard perv," sound dated to me. Makes me cringe a little each time...
