This is more Historical than HR, but I'm enjoying it anyway. I know the R is coming at some point ;)

Since I can't figure out what I'm currently in the mood for, HR is a good choice.

Kai is getting on my last nerve....

I understand trying to make Kai seem strong and independent...but it mostly comes off as bratty and mildly annoying. She's an (almost) 17 year old adviser to the ruler of this country/region who won't show even common courtesy to a neighboring ruler, who, may I add, is her host and she his guest. Really? He has earned his right among his people, you were handed this position. Get over yourself.

Listening to this on KU narration. This has some pretty low reviews, but so far I'm liking it.

Not enjoying this one as much as the first. Lex is acting a little too....well, a little too big for her britches. Knowing more about biology than the biologist? Telling a centuries old vampire the best way to handle her people? I just don't like it when people begin to act outside their scope of knowledge. Like when people with no training whatsoever can take down the well trained bad guys.

1) Not loving the alternating POV. Sometimes more is not really more.
2) It's more contemporary than I'd imagined.

So you think a theoretical giant people eating worm - and I say theoretical because they have no clue if that's really what it is - is targeting people on purpose and it couldn't possibly be that people are just wandering into its feeding ground? Hmm.

I'm thinking this may not be for me.

Switching to something else and maybe I'll return to this one later...

Still not hating it---that's a compliment btw. I like that she's 30ish and ex military. Makes her seem like a real person. And I also like that we're not thrown into the magical world but introduced to it with her.

Ha! I'm adding this book because it's one of the few that I've actually been reading and not listening to. #adultstudentproblems

This is actually not bad so far.

Hmmm....better not say much. I don't want to jinx it.

There are just some things about this book that don't add up. And maybe it is the isolation that these "women" face, but for a 21 year old she reads more like she's 15/16. It feels very YA.

Ummm...when you run a fever you do not feel hot to yourself. You feel hot to OTHER people, but not to yourself.

Hold up. How is this even a good idea?

Gah. This book has just been one bad decision after another...

I don't understand the motivation. What's the point?
