Man, I'm killing my TBR list with this KU audio shtick.

My biggest issue with this whole series is that not only are all the kids basically little punks, but the "powerful" girls are all batshit crazy. Like they can't be strong women without being consumed by the lust for power.

But the story, and the idea of the Heartland and the Empyrean, I totally like it...

I'm really liking this so far.

They are monsters, Malorie thinks. But she knows they are more than this. They are infinity.

Last year one of the fashions was drawing faces over your existing face-how disconcerting. And a few years back, "suicide chic" was in play: nooses worn about the neck, makeup made to mirror the striations of life expired, fake scars on the wrists and throat, devices made to leak blood.

That's messed up...

Every now and then I feel some sympathy for Boyland...but how can I now knowing he hit Gwennie? But then he says things like, "I think she's like a pretty, pretty flower" because he can't really find the words to express how he feels. So conflicted.

Why do they still give so much credence to their "Obligated"? Why is this still a thing? It seems at odds with the entire premise of the books...

I WILL finish this series. I'm a serial non-serialist so this is a big deal for me ;)

I think I like the idea of the "Bitch's Dance", though I'm not totally sold on the name :/

Highland werewolves had a reputation for doing atrocious and highly unwarranted things, like wearing smoking jackets to the dinner table. Lyall shivered at the delicious horror of the very idea.

How utterly reprehensible. A smoking jacket at the dinner table. Where is the decency?

I'm making slow progress on this one. But progress is progress, right?

She has managed to fill the pages with fairy tale after after fairy tale. I can see how this could overwhelm the plot of this story, but for now I think it's working. We'll see if she continues to pull it off...

Hmmm...so listening to this and the name "Boxelder Rd" caught me. I wonder if this means Atlanta Burns is in the same universe as the Heartland Trilogy, only in pre-Empyrean times? Like maybe "Boxelder" the town exists where "Boxelder" the road once was...interesting.

So, she steals from him and he does nothing. Now he shows up at her doorstep, allows her to needle him about stealing his family heirloomy ring, and the politely asks her for her dog? This requires a good deal of suspended belief...
