This book is a complement to the whole Final Girl scenario. I've read/watched several Final Girl fictions lately, but in true SGJ fashion, he decides to go the other way and take us down this whole crazy "how slashers are born" route. And, of course, it's pretty out there so far, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

I read this back in 2015 and really liked it...but I never continued the series because I am TERRIBLE with series. I'm trying it again with the audiobooks. Let's see how it goes 🤞

Her mom is a real piece of work

So this is really not at all a mystery/thriller/suspense novel. It's definitely an overcoming childhood trauma/dealing with loss/mental health novel. An FYI for future readers. It's very clinical.

I've lost steam with this one. I think it's going to be a DNF for me atm. Just not pulling me in. It's going into the try again late pile.

I mean, this is not the first time Collett's been told this. It's why she's had her issues before, and why they decided not to continue to push and let her live how she's living now. This is what I'm not understanding Sarah's POV. She acts like they've never told her, and right now, it's supposed to be a "gasp" moment. It's not.

I have my suspicions about things 🤔

The way Collett deflects has me suspecting her cunning.

This book is going to undoubtedly be good. I can tell. I'm just not in the mood for this book right now. Does that make sense?
