Ellyn is still a ridiculous person. I almost can't handle it.

I don't think running, while screaming and sobbing, into the dangerous woods was the brightest course of action. Earlier she said there was no way her niece would have done that, but now here we are. Ellyn, I had higher hopes for you.

Y'all, I don't know if I can with this one. This setup is so silly.

Though I haven't officially started yet, I will today! My family (siblings and kids) are starting a family book club/read-along. This is up first. Pretty excited to start :)

Despite the recommendation, I am NOT starting with the novellas/prequel first.

Not going to lie. Kinda excited to get back to my "roots" lol.

I just can't buy Sorcha as a character. Everything she does is annoying to me. Think I'm calling this one.

Taking a bit to get into. Not sure if I'm feeling it or not.

So, I was initially jazzed by this book. However, now not quite as much. Is it bad that I think there is too much sex and not enough character growth? From not even meeting our H at 41% to now being in love and smashing at 73%. I like there to be a little more tension and romantic growth in my stories. Slower moving with a bigger payoff. Maybe that's just setting the bar too high...

I wasn't sure what to expect but so far this has been pretty good. My main gripe is that I'm nearly halfway through the story and still haven't met the main love interest!

I continue giving these books 4 stars mainly bc of Tori. She bothers me even 8 books in. She jumps to conclusions without the facts and seems super clingy when it comes to "her guys". She's still pouty about her "magic" and acts like a teenager at times. I keep waiting to see more emotional growth from her, but I think I'll be left waiting indefinitely. Give Makiko a break. She's way more badass than you!!
