Scaly, grumpy, but oh so cuddly...

As a third daughter on the farming colony of Meterion, Susan’s future prospects aren’t too promising. A pretty face, top-notch skills, and hard work mean nothing if your dowry doesn’t include fertile lands. With her twenty-fifth birthday approaching, and no suitors even remotely sniffing in her general direction, Susan will be forced to le

I saw this book on Instagram and was instantly intrigued because while the cover screamed "MONSTEROTICA!" the blurb seemed way more sophisticated. It was kind of giving me LAST HOUR OF GANN and RADIANCE vibes, two books I loved. The premise is also great, too. Think Harvest Moon: In Space. Susan is from a human colony on a planet called Meterion but only first and second daughters get married and land. Third daughters like her get to bec

First off, I really am not a big fan of sci-fi or romance books. I saw the cover here and was anticipating a light-hearted romp, that skated between the two genres, similar to a Carlton Mellick story. What I got was something that I wasn't prepared guessed it...graphic and abundant scale-on-skin action!!! The author did a fine job making you feel engaged in all of the extremely detailed love scenes. I questioned how a virgin would adapt to certain odd circumstances so quickly and aggre ...more

This cover just has me dying. Like it’s got me thinking “who in their right mind would read this?” when in reality that ill-minded person is me 😚✌🏻

This novella follows…a human girl who’s name I currently need to look up…ah yes Susan . All due respect to all the Susan’s out there …but Susan just gives me white, middle-aged mom vibes. It’s definitely not the name I would name my FMC, but ig the heroine is supposed to be considered average. Like actually, she’s described that way

I had to go back and up my rating, after seeing others I rated 4 star, I knew this deserved 5!!

I freaking loved this!!

I have so many things to say, I don't know where to start! How about with the cover. I liked that it was realistic and definitely looked like a lizard, instead of a cheesy photoshopped green man with fake scales. Look at that alien lizard face, am I right?! How's the h gonna fall in love with that?

This was a mate-matching, mail-order bride sorta of trope. I loved that is wasn't i

I'm struggling a bit with how to rate this. Despite the bizarre cover, this is a surprisingly sweet romance involving an arranged marriage between a human woman and a lizard-like alien man. Their relationship is pretty charming. However, I'm kind of uncomfortable with the setup and plot.

An intergalactic agency is matching people from more developed civilizations to marry people from less developed civilizations in order to help them develop. The lizard people have a past of having been enslaved

I picked this book because that cover and title! Hah! 😂
Lucky me, the storyline is much better than I expected ❤️.

The blurb is telling what this story all about quite nicely.
I love this H/h 😍, it was good to see how they can communicate their differences and try to understand from their partner POV too.

The heroine is a farmer and she was a very good one too.
And for a girl who couldn’t even keep an IKEA’s bamboo tree alive, like me?
What she does is a miracle to me! 😳😂🤣

This was honestly one of the sweetest marriage of convenience stories I've read in a while. I really loved how both of them worked to understand each other and make a life together, and I enjoyed the world building of the setting established. I am looking forward to diving in deeper to this author's backlist! ...more

2 stars.

Ummm the literal setup of this book is that an agency arranges marriages between “more advanced” cultures and “primitive planets” to help the natives “develop”?? And this human woman goes to an alien planet, where her husband’s people were formerly enslaved and forced to farm under horrific conditions, and tries to convince them to start farming??? And keeps talking about how they have to “catch up” to the “modern world” if they want to survive?? And it literally says in the last chapte

Overall Opinion: I just had to read this! I love books where one of the characters have to adapt to a new world and this was just that. I just felt like it was fluff. Minimal conflict, they connect sexually instantly, and it was wrapped up too easily and felt even rushed in the end. Silver lining was that it was a silly premise and I didn’t go into this with huge expectations so I wasn’t disappointed!

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Susan and Olix’s story. Susan is a third daugh

I wanted to like this, but I could not get past the whole 'white saviorism' trope.

The plot was basically "Human from developed planet goes to 'save' the ignorant tribal people." It gave me a bad taste.

Worse, she "saved" them by being insensitive (in my opinion) to their trauma by doing something that triggered them right in front of their faces, even after they repeatedly asked her not to. It just felt icky.

I would have preferred if they saved themselves and she just helped them along the way o

A sweet paint-by-numbers alien love story.
The human h and her lizard guy moc husband, whose people have a looming existential crisis, manage to sort out biological/anatomical and sexual differences along with cultural ones to have a believable hea.

'Despite their undeniable stellar success rates, I had the hardest time believing my fairy tale romance would be with a lizardman. Nevertheless, I signed.'

Truly did not expect this to be the high-caliber quality book it revealed itself to be. This was an unexpected masterpiece with a wonderful attention to detail and realism between two of different races and cultures falling in love via a marriage of convenience that I simply adored. It was cute, sweet, hilarious, rather well-written, and the e

Okay, but this was SO good! I wasn’t expecting to be as hooked on it as I was! The communication and respect for both main character’s cultures, despite them being thrust into an arranged marriage where both were floundering at first, was so refreshing.

If you enjoyed Grace Draven’s Radiance, then definitely give this one a try!

I really liked this book. It's your typical alien smut, but the plot was pretty interesting. I liked how both the H/h entered the marriage willingly so we had no pushing away from either of them. They were both trying to make things work and it was so refreshing! The h comes from a farming community and the H and his people refuse to farm. She is very smart and persistent in the way she helps them see the value of farming but never pressures them to have to do it. The solutions to their problems ...more

Just for information and research purposes, here is what Olix looks like in the book (referenced by the author in the book) Nothing like the dreadful cover.

OK ok, this isn't really 5 stars, but it just hit the spot while dealing with moving and job hunting at the same time.
It's less than 150 pages but there's lots there to enjoy.

I’m giving it 5 stars. I read it in one day. It was new to me sci-fi type of story and author.
Ok let’s talk about the cover and the title. Can it sound any more unbelievable? I don’t know, maybe. After reading some great reviews about it (thank you Ira) I had to read it ASAP.

The love story was sweet. MCs were making the best out of difficult situation and were from the beginning very honest and carrying about each other’s feelings. They both tried to imagine what the other might be feeling. I

expected a lot of freaky lizard -monster sex...but got a sweet cinnamon roll hero with a LOT of plot🤡
i love cinnamon roll heroes but i wanted stuff to get freaky which sadly it did not. it was also super info dumpy and very plot driven.
I’m sorry...WHAT?! Who gave this the right to be so good? It was nothing spectacular or anything, but it was written very well and kept me well engaged the whole time.

With a cover and title like this, I expected it to be on the weirder side of things, but everything just made sense, y’know? Wow.

Fantastic Sci-fi romance!

What a wonderfully written story! A human woman from a farming colony leaves everything behind to marry a lizardman on another planet. This human and alien slow build romance was interesting from the start, proving that two very different beings can find common ground, affection, and learn to love one another. The world building is exquisite. The author does a phenomenal job of describing Olix and his culture without info dumping. The romance of the couple is woven seaml

Came for the cover, stayed for the story

So even tho I have a TBR that is about to implode into a supernova, I had to stop everything and read this book. That cover drew me in and when I found out the h was a virgin, I dived right in.

I found the story engaging and interesting and even tho I should’ve gone to bed 3 hours ago, I stayed up to finish. The plot is pretty simple: there’s nothing for the heroine, Susan, on her homeworld. So she signs up to be an alien bride on another planet (there’s

So I started this book and I remembered my reluctance with the authors last series, which I had forgotten.

This writer has an interesting style, her timing flows well and her worlds are relatively well explored (this one more so than the other series, there was growth there for sure).

However it's not my jam. I find it comes across like reading Avatar. There is a good story there but the allegory is thick and sometimes seems like an after school special, lessons about the topic of the day. For th

This has been on my TBR for awhile and the cover just kept sticking out to me so I had to read it. This is Susan and Olix's story. Susan has the short end of the stick as the third daughter on a planet who places all the value on the first and second daughters. Knowing there isn't much ahead for her, she works with an agency to find her a husband. The arranged marriage is to a primitive species and when she is matched her life will forever change.

Olix + Susan

Susan signs up for the Prime Mating Agency program that will help find her a perfect match. Since she is the third daughter, she has no property or incentive for marriage and has to look off-world. She gets matched up with Olix, the leader of his people from a primitive world. Their way of life is being threatened by decreasing amounts of wild game and tourists/corporations coming in and taking advantage.

I like monster-romance books, but this was just awkward and left me cold.

I liked the female lead. She was just amazing and brave and kind. And her sister in law was cool.

But everyone/-thing else wasnt to my liking. Her husband was often thinking mean things about her because she was human, but he loooooved having intercourse with her. What a „great“ connection…

I disliked him and after 50% i knew this this book wasnt for me. I missed any kind of romance or connection. There are many other

I have a weird compulsion to click on ridiculous titles, so when I saw this one on KU… I jumped in, and I was pleasantly surprised. I Married a Lizardman is what I call sci-fi lovey-smut. It’s sweet, and the couple builds their relationship slowly, respectfully, from friends to lovers… all while having sexytime.

The blurb sets this up, Susan is out of options, and enters an intergalactic bride matching program. She soon learns that she’s been matched with Olix, clan leader of a primitive hunter s

Okay, this couple was just perfect. I loved the way they communicated with each other throughout their relationship but especially at the beginning. They’re thrown into this marriage of convenience with little to no knowledge about the other’s species and cultures. They were so patience with each other as they learned and didn’t blow up with anger whenever there was an inevitable slight. He also defended her to other members of his village whenever they spoke bad about her, which was

This was honestly the cutest, sweetest romance. I love how hard they worked to communicate and understand each other despite their wildly different cultures. Were some of the ways she was able to help, maybe, just a little too convenient? Yeah. But I’m not complaining. Much.
