This one picks up directly after Book 1. A few new POVs have been added. Normally I don't love more than 2, but so far I think it's working for me.

Hmmm. This whole "fae can't lie" rule is one that seems to only get remembered to emphasize a plot point or forgotten altogether to make another. Those crafty fae and their tricky, tricky rules....

I *think* I'm liking this, but the dialogue seems a little juvenile. The whole coming out and saying they love using curse words deal makes the use of said curse words feel disingenuous and forced.

"Scrivener," he said carefully, "I don't mean to be forward, but is that a--"

"A sword hidden underneath my dress? Yes, it is."

Elisabeth has really grown on me...

Since I accidentally purchased this last night on Kindle I might as well go ahead and read it...dang the one-click purchase button! On the other hand, I'm 16% in and enjoying it so far, even if Elisabeth seems a little overly naive.

Dara had saved him enough times. He had to figure a way out of this on his own.

This is why these books are so great. She saves him.

There's a little bit of a disconnect in emotion so far. Lots of bad things happened last book that, in my opinion, the characters aren't reacting to realistically in this book. Or when they do, the others don't understand why. I'm still enjoying the overall arc, though.

They were like a team of old-time, swashbuckling warriors. What we have here is a motley crew. Man, I love a good motley...<3 crew...

Another female character I can get behind. Yes! Really liking this so far :)

Since I loved her other series so much I had to give this one a try, too.

I think the author may have confused "cyborg" and "android". Just sayin....

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with Mica :/

Why does Caleb keeps using his "Talents" unnecessarily? The side effects make him a liability rather than an asset. Smh.

Finally! The other half of my ship shows up, albeit 2 books too late, but here he is. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be (though I do love a good enemies/rivals to lovers trope).

This is just as good as the first book. If I didn't have plans, I'd stay in today to finish it and then promptly start the next one...

So far this is not overly exciting, but it's still enough to keep my attention for now.

I keep forgetting that this book also contains some scifi elements. It just kinda sneaks up on ya...

Off to a good start I'd say. I mean, it's a questing fantasy adventure featuring cat people. How could it not be badass?

Even though I'm actually liking this story, I'm having a hard time with Hannah. She cries and screams and melts down way too much. Plus, she never thinks anything through. Very frustrating.
