Changed my 2016 Challenge Goal from 750 to 825 books. That's the 4th time I've changed it...I had no idea I could read this many books in one year!

One of the top 25 greatest days of my life: Today, my 13 yr old son discovered Red Dwarf, and decided he wants to see the whole thing!

OMG, that whole bit about a Firefly nursery line was SPOT ON OMFG. That was one hella wasted marketing opportunity. I'd have bought it all. I'd have bought it for my friends, too. I'd still be buying it even though my kid is 13. #FireflyForever

Wooden marionettes, moving ON THEIR OWN? What. The. Fuck. Is THIS BOOK? It's like JLH went rifling through my nightmares and wrote some sort of special hell story. (I sweartagawd if there are clowns, I'm outtie.)

CARVINGS THAT MOVE WHEN YOU AREN'T LOOKING AT THEM?!!!? Fuck, now I'm gonna have Weeping Angel nightmares again.

I find it funny that I'm 2 books away from completing the Stacker Challenge (for the 3rd time this round) but instead of just finishing it already I keep replacing some of the books I read this summer - stacked neatly in the pyramid - with other, longer titles I'm reading now.

Is this supposed be a farce? It's almost hysterically bad. So, so bad. Crap, now I have to listen to the next one just to verify that it's supposed to be this bad...

What? I just...What?!? I nailed the perp at the introduction of the character but of course the interesting part is figuring out WHY. The why seemed cut & dry for this one. Only, no. It's not that at all...sort of...even if it is. But not really since somehow there's this flashback to an abusive past that makes me wanna puke - and that fits the motive how? Sure, crazy IS by definition not logical...but. What?

Oh.Kay. Sure. I get it. Priorities. Yeah, let's make sure you get your dick sucked by the "fag" before going out to apprehend a murder suspect. (I hate that word; the MC uses it liberally.)

Putting this one on the back burner for a while so that I can finish books on my challenge lists...

I love it when authors use National Park properties as settings for some of their books. I wish there was a story for all 400+ of them.

Ooh, I'm always up for reading how characters deal with issues of privilege - whether it be wealth, gender or race. It's not a terribly long book but here's to hoping it's not glossed over and/or the "rich" white kid is not oblivious to the problem.

Gawd, if there's one thing I hate it's badly (or sloppily) written football plays. GUESS WHAT? THAT'S NOT HERE!!! OMFG I could jump for joy if it weren't 3am and I wasn't tucked tight in bed. Alison either does some hellacious research, has a sports writer by her side or is one hell of a football fan. I can honestly see each play as she describes it; I can hear the fans & smell the fucking grass, it's that accurate.

Ooooh, another Coastie! Loving the varied branches here and having TWO stories with members from a way under-represented military contingent is way hot. Plus, I can't help it...no matter the description all the Coasties look like this in my head:

Is it weird that every time Pat scathingly mentions that "Ghost Matter" is horribly lame and whenever he spits out the name I actually hear "Nickleback?"

LOL! The idea of super-vill...er, Challengers having detailed planning missions in hotel conference rooms where they discuss with their minions their most recent bid to take over the world? Okay, that just tickles the FUCK out of me.

Yeah, that's more like what I expected. Loved the hot sex but major kudos for the situational awareness overload, re-organizing and the anger. All PTSD symptoms and completely understandable for many returning service men/women. Wish there was some sort of "What to Expect" seminar offered to the family at home so they can recognize the problem and seek help for their loved one.

W.T.F. is this one? JFC it's like a chicks-with-dicks romance. I don't have the character space to quote them all but, "I'd have no problems being with you every day for the rest of my life" & "there's something here that keeps drawing me back to you" said during a furtive fast first fuck? Fetishizing the other MC's darker skin tone and exotic appearance? Let's not forget the requisite flip flop fuck. *eyeroll*

Story three: Oh, this one is some sort of coda to an already established couple from another series I'm assuming. One that I've no previous knowledge of and might/might not read...probably geared toward fans of that saga because: first - if it weren't for the name distinctions - I couldn't tell the characters POV from each other (no clear characterization) and second it was too hetsappy. Love the sword arch, tho.

So, story two: Deadliest Catch meets The Guard. Loved both shows but, yeah, this was just okay. Sorta sappy romance. Good of that's your cuppa but wasn't really mine.

LOVED the first one! Modern tech genius meets geeky Marine; man vs machine battle for supremacy...and they both win in the end. Awesome.

Oh shit. I don't know if I'm gonna make it through this one; it's my actual personal worst nightmare...the only way it could be worse if it the bikers were clowns.

I almost peed my pants when Boone ACTUALLY makes a point to notice the toe picks and gets all offended over their very existence!

MWAHAHAHAHAHA! A hockey player and a figure skater. OMFG. Something about that trope has reeled me in since I first saw Cutting Edge so, so, so long ago. (In a theater. That long ago.)

Argh! I've bitched before about how non-residents say "Nevada" but OMFG I didn't realize how often other places are mispronounced in audiobooks; you'd think the narrator would do some research or clarify with an author on how to properly say specific places.

Never even considered that Piedmont would come out sounding like PIEdmont instead of PEEdmont...or Dekalb would be DeCALb instead of DeCAB. *shudder* Yanks.

I wonder what it says about me that I'd need more time to consider that offer than Ival did...and that my decision might not have been the same?
