LOL at the hypocrisy of this guy ranting about lying, hiding and cheating when he's essentially agreed to lying & hiding the fact that his marriage proposal was denied - the couple just figured it would be "easier" to do "damage control later" when the engagement was cancelled. God. *eyeroll*

Right. So, I've discovered that detailed descriptions of ballet moves, scenery and stage settings are not something I enjoy reading. For that, I definitely have to see it I guess. (Plus, I think it's supposed to serve as some analogy or message and I really can't be assed-out to decipher it at the moment because, again, pretentious.) (Gawd, I'm a bitch today.)

Okay, not what I was expecting. That discussion about inspiration, purpose and travel was a bit cerebral. I don't mind philosophical tangents and I'm thinking that whole thing is a way to set up their globe-trotting ways...but it was kinda pretentious, ya know? Meh.

Can I just say how much I fucking LOVE that 3 of the 4 November MM Authors of the Month are guys? (And I'm STOKED that Santino was selected since I nominated him, too!) I will admit I tend to read more MM written by female authors, so the nudge toward something different is appreciated. Plus, 2 of them are New-to-Me so doubleYAY!

God, someone remind me for next year's Members' Choice Awards to NOT save all the rough stuff for the end - to space it out more.

So, evidently I'm in the mood to torture myself for some recent book choices that were just terrible. At least I know the writing will be high quality, the editing spot-on and the story engaging, even if the details are difficult to work through...

Yeah, I don't think I'm strong enough to deal with any of that. Nope. I'm pretty sure I'd have run screaming from Cedric by this point. More power to the people with enough strength for this kind of relationship.

I want to read Enemy of My Enemy so fucking badly - but I can't decide if I should re-read Enemies of the State first. Decisions, decisions...

I'm thinking Jessie was the person who left that bullet on the dash, not Sean. (Shawn? Shaun? Ugh, that's one of the drawbacks of an audiobook vs. ebook - not knowing how to spell a character's name correctly.)

Right, see that paranoia, suspicion plus the panic attacks and minor freakouts? If you'd go to the department shrink and take advantage of the psychological services they offered rather than shrug them off as unnecessary? Yeah, that might be easier to deal with.

God, the worst part of trying to participate in challenges that aren't offered by the MM Romance Group...is how some of the achievements & challenge items are worded so that it's practically impossible to find a book I'm likely to read that will also fit the brief. Really hard to do that when you're supposed to tackle a "classic" fairy tale since there's been no actual fucking gay Disney princes.

Oh, wow. I never considered the possible racial ramifications of the triage color system before. I would say that needs to be revisited/revised but I'm not sure what would replace "black" for a victim that probably needs more assistance than the emergency workers can provide (or is already deceased). Blue, maybe?

Wow, it took a while but the story is finally getting to an interesting point.

So, I guess the laws are as strict as they are to keep the lower-classes in their place (as is usually the case, even now) and protect the ruling families. Even though one of Ennik's previous ancestors executed his own son for embarrassing their position (honor killing?) it's still a power/control issue. Gawd, I would not have done well in this kind of society...

Yeaaaaaah, that whole nursing/feeding/changing/bathing bit is a little squicky. Like being a parent to a newborn. Which, considering what he wants the man for is...ugh.

I think this is my favorite Northern California set Amy Lane book yet.

Oh man, this is going to be one of those books that are a bit of an effort to read because the MC's rituals are exhausting to go through with him & any Cognitive Behavioral coping mechanisms he might be working on are typically just so slow-going. (I do hope he's not miraculously "fixed" by the new love in his life, though...so irrational and does a disservice to those suffering with this kind of disability.)
