Well this one starts with Kris fending off another assassination attempt. Either Kris is damned lucky or this universe has the most incompetent assassins ever.

I don't know why I was hesitant to read one of these books. The very first story is very good.

I have always enjoyed Dietz's writing, particularly his Legion of the Damned series. The McCade series is some of his earlier writing, but I find it just as good as some of the later material I have read.

Good action, which is what I expect from this author and he has never disappointed me. Just a touch of romance, not so much as to make me want to drop the book, but enough to keep it in the realm of space opera which always has a slight romantic theme.

I have enjoyed other books by this author, especially the Hellfort's War series.

I have almost all of the old paperback Gor books in my collection. I started reading this series in my late teens, and wanted to read a new book to see if I still like this sort of book or if I no longer like it. I am a very different person than I was when I started reading this series.

I've read the first book and it was good. Will finish this series fairly soon. Good prolific authors are rare - its nice when you find one.

Some good action and intrigue in this book as well as some surprising twists.

This has been a great series. If someone told me it featured a weretiger and a space vampire/witch I would not have touched this book. I sure hope that Adam get laid sometime in this series. Adam has a nice harem going, and I hope that he benefits from it sometime other than just tactically.

This looks like a quick read. I've been reading a lot of SciFi lately (my favorite genre) so time to mix it up a little. Got talked into reading a romance novel a while ago, so this book should be a nice change of pace. I like her Mercy Thompson series.
