Still taking a break from the Space Opera for now. This book was recommended by several other readers on Michael-Scott Earle's fan page. I enjoy good fantasy.

Attempting a break from the continuous Space Opera reading. This book is darker than I expected. I think I am at the lowest point in the story arc. The MC has given up fixing her dragon, she has tossed away both her virginity and her college scholarship, and is trying to escape her world through sex. Did not expect human sacrifice to be so prevalent in this book.

So this was supposed an adult-themed fantasy novel. I would classify it rather as erotic historical fantasy fiction. Decent story but not quite what I was looking for. I know we are not supposed to judge a book by its cover but this cover should have warned me what was inside.

Attempting to break the near continuous Space Opera SciFi reading. Another book I picked up on recommendation by another reader. Supposed to be fantasy with some strong sexual context. Reads more like erotica with some mild fantasy dressing than the swords, sandals and magic fantasy I was looking for.

Grabbed this ebook on recommendation from another reader on Michael-Scott Earle's Facebook page. So far it is meh. Undecided if I am going to grab the rest of the series or not. Unless this book gets much better, I probably will not grab any more of these books.

Time for a little break from the continuous Space Opera fest. I like these Philip Mercer stories. Sometimes the Mercer stories can stretch believability a little bit, but they are still a fun read.

Wow the Peeps are striking back, taking advantage of the superiority complex and sense of invulnerability of the Alliance. With Honor "dead" the Peeps are striking deep into Manty territory; playing holy hell with merchie shipping. So many attacks at once is good for the Peeps with their superior hull numbers. The Manties are already stretched thin; responding to so many attacks at once will stretch them farther.

Poor Honor has really stepped in it this time. Missing an arm, left side of her face paralyzed again, and her replacement cybernetic eye destroyed she really has her work cut out for her to overcome the odds.

This book starts just a little after the previous book ends. Jumps right into the action too.

I enjoy these Honor Harrington books. I mainly read Space Opera; these Honor books are some of my favorites. Lately I have not found any male-led Space Opera such as the Helmsman series by Bill Baldwin that I like.

I am slowly getting through the Honor Harrington series.

I really enjoy the Honor Harrington series. Despite all the political BS in these Honor books there is still enough action to keep them from being completely boring.

Another great collection of short stories set in the Honorverse. My paperback copy of this book is rather beat-up. Due to the thickness of the spine it is hard reading the paperback copy without creasing the spine. I am glad that I have both the Kindle version and the paperback versions so that I can read this book without damaging my copy more.

I really enjoy these short stories set in the Honorverse. Most of the stories fill in the gaps in the MC's and other prominent character's backstory without having to include it in a novel. I enjoy the stories about young Honor and Nimitz before they left for the Academy.

Oh now I see how little Ruth got here.

So this is turning into Space Opera light, more Gilbert & Sullivan rather than something pretentious.

One thing that I have always disliked about the Vicky character is her blatant promiscuity. Compared to the near nun-like Kris Longknife, Vicky goes through lovers of both sexes like tissues. Perhaps the author purposefully wrote the two women so differently.

I put this one down for a while, as I was getting a little tired of the boring political wrangling at the beginning. I hope something starts happening other than politicians deciding how they are going to kill more Marines in some useless mudhole of a campaign.
