Most of MSE's books I enjoy reading. The first book of this series I found to be meh; however the following books have been awesome. Only problem with MSE's books is that I tear through them so fast.

I enjoy all of Dietz's writing especially fiction such as this book and his Legion of the Damned series. I hope that after this book Dietz returns to the Legion again with some new books.

This collection of short stories include several of Hamilton's fantasy stories which I have always enjoyed. I had forgotten than Hamilton published a short story in Dragon Magazine. The story in Dragon is one of my favorites, and I didn't recognize the author until now. I remember reading the story in Dragon and wished the author would write more - I got my wish.

I am surprised how much I am enjoying these short stories. I have enjoyed this LK Hamilton book better than I have any of the previous Anita books.

A collection of short stories that has been ok so far. Glad I borrowed this from the library rather than purchased.

Found this book at my local library used book sale. Sounds interesting so I think that I will give it a shot. I have not read too much Space Opera written by a woman, so I am curious if I will like this book or not.

I really miss my hour-long lunch breaks where I could read (if my coworkers left me alone).

With the change in jobs, I no longer get a nice hour-long lunch break. My reading of paperbacks has decreased substantially while my electronic reading has leapt.

The author knows the BS that flows downhill in any mixed nationality UN led command. I hated serving with most European senior officers, as they had little to no trust or respect for US senior enlisted. The Blue Hat Euro officers especially hated the fact that our troops carried sidearms at all times. Some of the enlisted Euro guys were alright, but most of the UN officers that I met, I did not care for.

I have enjoyed this series. Good suspense, cliffhangers, and characters that you feel invested in, and care for.

I have enjoyed this series so far. Good military space opera with interesting characters put in hard situations. I like how the fact that a species-ending alien invasion was not enough to stop warring between nations. Not until Terra itself is threatened (when the aliens take Mars) do the nations unite against their common foe.

God another freebie from an author in a genre that at this rate, I can't I say I don't read anymore. No wonder Amazon thinks I am gay, offering me all kinds of homoerotic and somewhat not-straight romantic stories for my Kindle. This was starts painfully slow, gets to the sex in a predictable manner (really, the bartender for a rebound?), but damn if those pesky condoms keep popping up (literally). Fantasy safe sex?

I still miss the Anita from the first books. Anita was not as powerful, physically, as she is now. To me it appears that Anita is focusing on her physical strength rather than her magical strength. I have not read anything about her magic or necromancy in several books. In the earlier books, Anita scared the crap out of the vampires with her magic, so why is she so concentrated on physically battling the Harlequin?

At first I did not care for Sivaha; as this book progresses I am certainly liking her more than I did. I didn't care for Madelana either at the beginning. Eve and Zea are still my favorite wives, but Madelana and Sivaha are no longer the wives that I wish would get eaten by a black hole. I do like how Sivaha has come around to loving Adam. I also like that Sivaha admitted her errors. I loved the Yakuza back story.

I've had a hard time getting into this first story. It started rather poorly and slowly with a domestic dispute in the middle of a battle. Really stupid for professional mercenaries falling victim to conflict with a former spouse while getting their asses kicked by a superior mercenary force.
