Mikela Hi, I'm Mikela and I just love to snuggle down with a good mystery and lose myself in it. I live in Vancouver, the warmer rainy section of Canada, which makes most days ideal for indoor reading. Glad to be with you.

T Hi, my name is Tammy and I live in Grayslake, IL. I love to read and a good cozy makes me especially happy. I'm currently finishing the Joanne Fluke series. Then it is on to my "to read" list which I'm looking forward to adding to based on this groups recommendations!

Hi Tammy. Welcome, I'm glad you found us! I hope we can help you increase your "to read" list.

message 307: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Hi, I'm Stephanie from Tulsa, OK. My favorite cozy characters are Desiree Shapiro and Savannah Reid. In addition to cozies, I read thrillers and mysteries that aren't so cozy. I like to read a cozy right after I've read something heavy or intense. It's like a sweet palate cleanser. Looking forward to the book discussions here!

Oh I love Savannah, I want to be her in my next life :)

message 309: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I know! And I love her grandmother. Best fictional grandma I've ever read.

message 310: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 499 comments Hi, I'm Connie and live in the suburbs about 30 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts. I'm the mother of 4 grown children and the grandmother of a 6-year-old grandson. I love to read (pretty much anything) but am most definitely a cozy mystery fan. No need for blood and gore--it's more about the finesse and suspense of figuring out whodunit for me. My mom was a mystery fan too and got me started on it. I think we have a complete collection of Agatha Christie books that we gathered over the years. I'm ready to discover some different authors, and this group seems like the perfect place.

Iamabibliophile | 201 comments Hello, my names I Karla. I love, love, LOVE cozy mysteries!

I was a military wife for 14 years and would move every 1 to 2 years. I made myself feel at home at each fort by finding a used bookstore as soon as I could. I browsed the shelves and found cozies that fit that area or topic that sparked my interest at the time.

My favorite's are amateur detective cozies. I like Lora Roberts, Valerie Wolzien, Jill Churchhill, Diane Mott Davidson, Dolores Johnson...

Glad I found this group!

message 313: by Erika (new)

Erika Hi, my name is Erika. I've been an avid reader all my life and often have 2 or 3 books going at once. I used to teach 8th grade history but now I'm a stay-at-home mom of a 2 1/2 year old boy and 4 month old girl. I'm looking forward to getting good suggestions from this group!

I'm sorry jaxnsmom to hear about your dog. Most of mine are very old and I worry about the time we have left. I have five Yorkies, one Silky, and a boxer.

Nice to meet you, too, Barb :)

message 343: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (CC-BleuStocking) | 1 comments Hello! I'm Catherine. I live in the mountains of NW Montana, just minutes from Glacier Nat'l Park. I'm a longtime fan of cozies, beginning in the early 1980's when I discovered Martha Grimes' Richard Jury books. In addition to cozies, I enjoy literary-fiction, humour, and non-fiction. A few of my favourite authors include Grimes, Umberto Eco, Stephen Hawking, Bill Bryson, and David Sedaris.
A Goodreads member for a while now, this is my first foray into Groups. I eagerly anticipate becoming acquainted with, and interacting with the members of the Cozy Mystery Corner.

message 344: by Sue (new)

Sue Hi - I'm Sue from Pennsylvania. I am new to cozies, I usually read suspense and heavier mysteries, though I do love Louise Penny, I think her books qualify as cozies. I am active in several Goodreads groups and want to expand my reading genres.

Hello Catherine, welcome to the group! I listened to Hawking's A Briefer History of Time and loved it.

Hi Sue! Glad you decided to join us. Cozies are good to keep the mind engaged without having to do a lot of heavy thinking.

message 349: by Beth (new)

Beth | 206 comments Hi,
I just found out about this group and joined right away. I both read and write cozy and soft-boiled mysteries. If you want to learn more about the writing part, see the "Cozy Mystery Authors" topic in your Authors & Bloggers discussion board. I live in the ski resort of Breckenridge, Colorado and am an avid skier, hiker, and whitewater rafter. I write about the Rocky Mountain outdoors in my books, too. I enjoy reading books by other Western-setting and outdoor-oriented mystery authors such as William Kent Krueger, Dana Stabenow, Craig Johnson, and Margaret Coel. I'm looking forward to hanging out with other cozy mystery readers!

message 350: by Anne (new)

Anne Gibbons | 1 comments My name is Anne. I live in Tuscaloosa, Ala. I'm new to Good Reads (therefore, of course, new to the Cozy Mystery Corner group). Am looking forward to discovering new cozy mystery authors.
