Mary (mw8019) | 273 comments Well, I will be going home some time next week, so Hubby promised to have some Chocolate for me! But our daughter says no, I am a Diabetic, so I really can't have too much!

Thanks ladies, for your well wishes!

Mary

Beth | 206 comments Hey, Mary, there's always sugar-free chocolate! And, dark chocolate has less sugar in it than milk chocolate, and it's better for you. Just one square/bite a day is enough to curb the craving and get the flavinoid benefits without upsetting your body's sugar balance. (Can you tell I'm a chocoholic?) ;-)

Mary (mw8019) | 273 comments Yes and thanks for the heads up on the chocolate insights, will let the hubby know when he goes shopping today, I am on my way home tomorrow! I can't wait it has been a long two weeks for the second time around.

I'm diabetic too, and I have to admit I cheat when it comes to chocolate. I usually have dark chocolate, especially when I'm stressed. I find it best to have a very low carb meal and then allow myself to indulge :) If dark chocolate is too bitter for you, I've found some with bits of blueberries or raspberries, and I love it with almonds in it.

I did find the dark chocolate with the raspberries! They are my special treat. Thanks for telling me about them!

Welcome to the group Deb. Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series was a featured read here a few months ago. That's how I discovered this series and have become an avid watcher of the TV shows.

There are several cozies with knitting and baking themes as well. The group's bookshelf has cozy themes - it's a work-in-progress but a good starting point.

Welcome to the group Marta. I love the Daisy Dalrymple sereis by Carola Dunne. I've also read and enjoyed M C Beaton's Agatha Raisin and Hamish MacBeth mysteries. Another one of our international members mentioned that cozy mysteries are hard to find. Are ebooks an option for you?

Oh I love Flavia too. In Poland we have only 6 books of this series and I hope the publishing house bring us quickly new Alan Bradley's books.

Ebooks is fine to me, I found the bookstore in my country that sells cozies in English and the price is fine, so maybe read in English in first moments won't be easy for me, but for those books worth to try :)

Welcome to the group, Katie. Bailey Cates is a fellow Colorado mystery author, and I've hung out with her (she's as nice as one can be). She also writes under the pseudonyms of Bailey Cates Cattrell, K. C. McRae, and Cricket McRae. See: http://www.cricketmcrae.com/

James (jamescudney4) Hello. I am Jay and I live in NYC. I joined this group last autumn, but I never introduced myself. I thought it was about time I did. I have been enjoying reading everyone's comments and I love the cozy mystery!

As a child, I remember reading so many books that had the same characters but didn't initially know what it meant to be a book series until my teens. When I did, my fascination took off all over the place. I'm in the middle of so many cozy series now, I often have to stop and think about who is in which book!

I majored in English in college and have been writing ever since. Some years it's been a lot, some years it's been a little. I have recently left my corporate position and plan to use the next 6 months for as much writing as I can possibly do.

I'd love to get suggestions on new cozy series and look forward to getting to know everyone more. Send friend request if you want to chat individually. Thanks.

Welcome out of 'lurkdom' Jay. The favorite cozy discussion has a lot of suggestions for cozy series. Be careful though so that you don't get caught up in reading and it takes time away from the writing you plan to do.

Hi, I'm Sonia Parin & I've recently rediscovered my love of Cozy Mysteries - both reading & writing. I've been working on a new series: A Deadline Cozy Mystery and have created ten book covers so I'm cracking the whip. More so as I've also decided to work on another series: A Dear Abby Cozy Mystery, linked to my contemporary romantic comedies (brand new/24hrs old, sparkly idea conceived yesterday when I played around with another four book covers...). I honestly can't remember ever having so much fun while writing.
