I'm diabetic too, and I have to admit I cheat when it comes to chocolate. I usually have dark chocolate, especially when I'm stressed. I find it best to have a very low carb meal and then allow myself to indulge :) If dark chocolate is too bitter for you, I've found some with bits of blueberries or raspberries, and I love it with almonds in it.

I did find the dark chocolate with the raspberries! They are my special treat. Thanks for telling me about them!

Welcome to the group, Angie! I agree, book nerds are awesome. ;-)

I love to read cozy mysteries, I also enjoy Knitting, colouring in Adult colouring books, and baking.
Welcome to the group Deb. Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series was a featured read here a few months ago. That's how I discovered this series and have become an avid watcher of the TV shows.
There are several cozies with knitting and baking themes as well. The group's bookshelf has cozy themes - it's a work-in-progress but a good starting point.

Hi Deb, welcome to the group! I hope you'll share your favorite cozies with us, and find some new ones here.

Sorry for my English ;)

Welcome to the group Marta. I love the Daisy Dalrymple sereis by Carola Dunne. I've also read and enjoyed M C Beaton's Agatha Raisin and Hamish MacBeth mysteries. Another one of our international members mentioned that cozy mysteries are hard to find. Are ebooks an option for you?

Welcome Marta :)
I know the problem of getting good cozy mysteries, here in Germany it's nearly the same.

Welcome to the group, Debbie! Are you familiar with Maggie Sefton's knitting mystery series?

Welcome to the group, Marta, and don't worry, your English is just fine. Maybe you can even teach us a few words of Polish! ;-)

Welcome Marta and Kass! I hope you'll find some new cozies to love here (and that you can get hold of Marta).

I am so looking forward to the books that we will read.
Welcome to the group Tracy. We have two featured reads each month selected by one of our members. You also may want to check the favorite series topic in Cozy Q & A. Be sure to list Alan Bradley's Flavia deLuce as your top pick.

Welcome, Kassandra! As a fellow mystery author, I sent you a friend request.

I am so looking forward to the books that we will read."
Welcome to the group, Tracy! I, too, enjoy Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce series.
Welcome Tracy! I love Flavia and can't wait for the next book, Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mew'd, due out in September.

Oh I love Flavia too. In Poland we have only 6 books of this series and I hope the publishing house bring us quickly new Alan Bradley's books.

Ebooks is fine to me, I found the bookstore in my country that sells cozies in English and the price is fine, so maybe read in English in first moments won't be easy for me, but for those books worth to try :)

Welcome Katie! Check out some of the topics in the Cozy Q & A folder. Share some more of your faves and hopefully find some new ones.
Welcome to the group Katie. Your TBR lists is about to grow!
I'm a fan of the Magical Bakery series too. Check out the favorite series thread in the Cozy Q & A section and add yours.

Welcome Sally! I read a series by K. J. Emrick Pine Lake Inn series that is based in Australia and its a paranormal.

Welcome to the group Lacey. My friends can't figure out how a murder mystery can be fun and relaxing. Cozies are both.

Welcome to the group, Katie. Bailey Cates is a fellow Colorado mystery author, and I've hung out with her (she's as nice as one can be). She also writes under the pseudonyms of Bailey Cates Cattrell, K. C. McRae, and Cricket McRae. See: http://www.cricketmcrae.com/

Welcome, Lacey! Bummer about the Lupus. I have friends with the disease and know it's no fun. I hope you're not in pain and still able to enjoy life and reading.

As a child, I remember reading so many books that had the same characters but didn't initially know what it meant to be a book series until my teens. When I did, my fascination took off all over the place. I'm in the middle of so many cozy series now, I often have to stop and think about who is in which book!
I majored in English in college and have been writing ever since. Some years it's been a lot, some years it's been a little. I have recently left my corporate position and plan to use the next 6 months for as much writing as I can possibly do.
I'd love to get suggestions on new cozy series and look forward to getting to know everyone more. Send friend request if you want to chat individually. Thanks.
Welcome out of 'lurkdom' Jay. The favorite cozy discussion has a lot of suggestions for cozy series. Be careful though so that you don't get caught up in reading and it takes time away from the writing you plan to do.

You are absolutely correct. I'm writing up a timeline so I am forced to stick to a schedule!
Hi, I'm Sonia Parin & I've recently rediscovered my love of Cozy Mysteries - both reading & writing. I've been working on a new series: A Deadline Cozy Mystery and have created ten book covers so I'm cracking the whip. More so as I've also decided to work on another series: A Dear Abby Cozy Mystery, linked to my contemporary romantic comedies (brand new/24hrs old, sparkly idea conceived yesterday when I played around with another four book covers...). I honestly can't remember ever having so much fun while writing.

Great news on the writing...I will have to look them up.

Welcome to the group Chrystle. The Agatha Raisin mysteries were one of the featured series a few months ago. That discussion thread is in the Featured Series folder.

They really are! I've booked a cottage in June for 3 weeks so I can see all the open gardens in the village and the surrounding area. I'd move there if I could!

Hello Karli, I also am from ND grew up in McVille. West of grand forks.
