Welcome Jeannie, Heidi and Mary Ann!

Heidi - where in VA are you from? I'm in WV now, but was born in Lynchburg, went to college in Danville, and lived in Northern VA (Fairfax County, Alexandria, Falls Church) and Winchester.

message 52: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidi_ark) I live in Caroline County, it's right between Fredericksburg and Richmond...about an hour south of DC. I know a few people who went (or are currently going) to Liberty out in Lynchburg and I have a few friends from NoVa, too. Where are you in WV? I have some friends in Morgantown.

I'm in Charleston. I've been here 8 years and would like to move back to VA. My sister lives in Stafford, and might be moving to Richmond. Many, many years ago I had a boyfriend from that area, I think it was Ruther Glen - really close to King's Dominion. Hope you don't have to spend too much time on I95!

message 54: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidi_ark) Ruther Glen and Kings Dominiion are just down the road! Who was your old boyfriend?

Welcome Abby! Glad to see you here.

Heidi - his last name was Covington, but I'm sure he hasn't lived there for at least 25 years.

message 58: by Heidi (new)

Heidi (heidi_ark) The only Covington that I knew was the old principal of the middle school. I think that he either died or moved away a long time ago. It would have been funny if I had known your friend, though! :)

Melissa Smith (nanasmith36804) | 4 comments Good Morning to all! My name is Melissa. I live in Hogansville, GA with my Husband, our 3 children, and 3 dogs. I am an avid reader and crafter. I just discovered cozy myseries and want to read them all...LOL. I am also new to Good Reads. I am excited about finding out more about the cozy mystery series.

message 60: by Alyson (new)

Alyson Reuben (alysonreuben) | 5 comments Hello! My name is Alyson and I was born in raised in Indiana where I now reside with my husband and daughter. I'm a writer, but I'm also an avid reader. I LOVE books! I'm eclectic in what I choose to read each day, yet I'm also selective. Some of today's best sellers simply don't appeal to me. It's the story content that matters, not the popularity. While I read romance, westerns, thrillers, and women's fiction, I adore a really good detective/mystery story. The Victorian Mrs. Jeffries mysteries are what first hooked me to cozies. I like that I can read them without being confronted by too much violence and/or sexual material. Not that I don't read (or write) books with those issues in them, but on some days I'm definitely not in that kind of mood. Thank you so much for allowing me into this awesome group! I look forward to being introduced to new cozy mysteries to read.

message 63: by Laura (new)

Laura | 3 comments Hi folks! I'm Laura, from the Chicago suburbs. Single and work in banking operations.

I used to read a lot (5-6 books a weekend was par for the course), but haven't found as much time lately. I blame facebook! lol

I love cozy mysteries - started reading Agatha Christie by age 10 or so. Current faves are Beaton, Davidson, Daheim, Atherton... oh heck, here are so many!!

I've been reading a lot of historical fiction lately, especially those involving European royalty (Tudors, Lancasters, Yorks, Eleanor of Aquitaine, etc.). I am a big fan of John Grisham (in the middle of King of Torts) and the Harry Potter books, too.

I'm looking forward to finding new series here! And yes, I have to start from the beginning!!!!

message 64: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cymaiorca) Hi, I'm Cheryl and I'm from Wyoming where I live with my husband, 3 boys, 3 cats, 3 dogs, and a revolving array of fish. I am an equal opportunity mystery lover and had the fortune of being able to take two separate detective fiction classes in college which introduced me to so many wonderful authors.

I read a lot of cozies, but I also enjoy a good procedural or PI novel as well. Actually, I read just about anything depending on my mood.

I'm looking forward to discovering new series and interacting with others who share my cozy passion.

Susan | 6 comments Hi! I'm Susan. I live in the Salt Lake City, UT area and work full-time as a controller for a medical device company. I LOVE to read, and cozy mysteries are one of my favorite genres. I usually read on my lunch hour and whenever else I can find time.

Authors that I like and consider "cozy" include Kathryn Hall Page, Jane Cleland, and Earlene Fowler. Any one else read any of those?

message 74: by LynnB (new)

LynnB Hi Susan and welcome to the Cozy Mystery group. I like the Kathryn Hall Page and Earlene Fowler mysteries, too. I haven't tried Jane Cleland, but I guess I need to put those on my list!

message 81: by Kim (new)

Kim (kim_miller) Hi everyone, I'm a cozy fan from Scotland. I'm new to Goodreads but glad to find a group dedicated to cozies. It was so hard to find anyone who liked cozies in Scotland that I've started a real-life cozy mystery book group in Glasgow. I like Marian Babson, M C Beaton, Rebecca Tope and the cat who series.

Anita (nitata) | 9 comments Hi all, I forgot to introduce myself. I´m Anita, 35 years old, and I live in the middle of Sweden (originally from Germany). Every now and then I have to read cozies. They make my days a little bit happier;) It´s also a nice excuse to take a break from my rather "serious" reading.
I love all the stuff from Charlotte MacLeod, esp. her Prof Peter Shandy Mysteries.

Hi Anita. Welcome to the group. Cozies do make a nice break between serious books. I also like them when I'm sick or really stressed out - just lay back and enjoy :) Hope you're enjoying Them Bones.
