Well, I sweat blood over that, but I voted... I printed off the list and went over it countless times...in a series of skips, hops and short jumps.
I had trouble spotting one I definitely wanted to vote for, and had to keep looking. Perseverance pays! At least that's what I was taught in my youth, I'm still waiting for the check.
I thought that was going to be difficult until I saw the classics on there. It was easy for me to pick the classics over all. It was a matter of picking my favorites of the classics. Those are the ones that have pervaded my childhood and stayed with me. So in terms of influence, they win hands down. Grimms Fairy Tales will always be tops on my list since it pervades my childhood, and is the first group of fantasy I've read, and will never forget. And Dante, Homer, etc., etc.

The Darkness That comes Before is the first book of the Prince of Nothing Trilogy so you should delete one of them.
Thank you for the hard work of putting this together (and for putting up with any trouble along the way). And it was hard to decide. You all have given me way too many great books to read this year. I think my list was mostly new favorites.
This was a monumental effort on the part of the organisers! Thanks so much for putting it together. Gave me so many books to put in the 're-read' pile. It was very difficult to choose 10. Had to do some strategic choices. Looking forward to the results!

I voted but it was tough. I tried to cover a range of old and new favourites. It also made me realize I have some serious reading to do- my TBR pile is about to grow even bigger. Thanks for all the effort that went into putting this together.
Why is it that I know I only nominated 10 but when I went to vote I had checked off 13? And then had a hard time thinking which three to un-check before submitting? LOL.

Voted! It was tough to make the final couple of votes, but I went with my gut, and thought back to the times when a book had really captured me. That was my deciding factor, even if a book is newer and less important to the genre, if it moved me, I picked it.Great job, everyone who worked at it!

-I always saw Necroscope shelved in the horror section of my library, should it be on a Fantasy listing?
-The Queen's Fool is Historical Fiction - I don't think one character having 'the Sight' makes the book a Fantasy...

We decided that individual trilogies will count for themselves - thus Imriel has to stand on his own. :)
I'll remove the Crystal Cave but the rest were voted on/discussed in the Book Eligibility thread. Majority Rules!
Voted. But the way the list is set up threw me off. For example, to vote for Malazan I had to find Gardens of the Moon. So I looked for the Gormenghast books by individual name, and couldn't find them. I thought they'd been left off, but realized afterward that I missed them under the name "The Gormenghast Novels." Those would be in my top few picks so I screwed up :)

I couldn't find an omnibus edition of Malazan Book of the Fallen...only individual editions.

Most difficult ten choices...wonder if God had this hard of a time choosing 10?
MrsJ...don't let it get to you. You've bent over backward getting this set up, you know how it is. Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope, as they say. In other words, somebody's going to complain no matter how hard you work. Just remember, every day do a little more than people expect of you and pretty soon....people will expect more....for free.

It’s time to vote for the top 100 fantasy books of all time!
We had tons of people nominate hundreds of books! So many books were nominated that we had to create an off-site survey collector.

Each member will be allowed to vote for ten (10) books.
The original polling format:
Multiple polls will run simultaneously until we narrow the nomination list down to 100 books. Each poll will run for a total of 10 days. At the end of that time the top 50 books will move on to the next round. When 100 books remain we will vote in a final poll for the position of the top 100 books. has been changed. Since the poll has been moved off of the Goodreads site I was able to get all of the books onto the same poll.

2. If there are several ties, the 150 books with the most votes will be placed in a run-off poll that will determine the top 100 books.
If you don’t see your nomination, it could be missing for a variety of reasons:
