MrsJoseph- The Farseer Trilogy is on the list twice (as Assassin's Apprentice and as Robin Hobb collection). Hopefully you can combine the votes.

I killed one of them, thanks.

I printed off the list and went over it countless times...in a series of skips, hops and short jumps.
I had trouble spotting one I definitely wanted to vote for, and had to keep looking. Perseverance pays! At least that's what I was taught in my youth, I'm still waiting for the check.

And it was hard to decide. You all have given me way too many great books to read this year. I think my list was mostly new favorites.

It was very difficult to choose 10. Had to do some strategic choices. Looking forward to the results!

Thanks for all the assistance, Mach.

Great job, everyone who worked at it!

Noticed a few minor things though:
-The Crystal Cave and Mary Stewart's Merlin Trilogy are both listed - Crystal Cave is the first book in the Merlin Trilogy
-Kushiel's Dart and Kushiel's Scion are both part of the same series - Dart is the first book of the Kushiel's Legacy series: http://www.goodreads.com/series/40703...
-I always saw Necroscope shelved in the horror section of my library, should it be on a Fantasy listing?
-The Queen's Fool is Historical Fiction - I don't think one character having 'the Sight' makes the book a Fantasy...
-Isn't the whole 'Fever' series PNR? Darkfever
Heading off to vote right now!
Thanks again!

Great job putting this together!

Thanks Carolyn!
We decided that individual trilogies will count for themselves - thus Imriel has to stand on his own. :)
I'll remove the Crystal Cave but the rest were voted on/discussed in the Book Eligibility thread. Majority Rules!

Those would be in my top few picks so I screwed up :)

Yeah, it's based on what Goodreads has in the system. I couldn't find an omnibus edition of Malazan Book of the Fallen...only individual editions.

What about The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings?

What about The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings?"

Thanks so much for all of the hard work. I had a great time voting! I can't wait to hear the final results :)

Just remember, every day do a little more than people expect of you and pretty soon....people will expect more....for free.
We appreciate the work, the effort and the dedication, thanks.

It’s time to vote for the top 100 fantasy books of all time!
We had tons of people nominate hundreds of books! So many books were nominated that we had to create an off-site survey collector.
The link to the An Aficionado’s Guide to the best 100 Fantasy Books of All Time voting list is: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FDX8P6N or you can click here to take vote.
Each member will be allowed to vote for ten (10) books.
The original polling format:
Multiple polls will run simultaneously until we narrow the nomination list down to 100 books. Each poll will run for a total of 10 days. At the end of that time the top 50 books will move on to the next round. When 100 books remain we will vote in a final poll for the position of the top 100 books. has been changed. Since the poll has been moved off of the Goodreads site I was able to get all of the books onto the same poll.
The poll will now stay open for five (5) days. At the end of the five days one of two things will happen:
1. The top 100 books will “win.”
2. If there are several ties, the 150 books with the most votes will be placed in a run-off poll that will determine the top 100 books.
If you don’t see your nomination, it could be missing for a variety of reasons:
1. It was not a fantasy book. All genres except fantasy were excluded from the nomination list. (This includes science-fiction) Please see the following threads discussing book eligibility:
a. Book Eligibility
b. List of Ineligible Books
2. The book you nominated is part of a series. All books in a single series are considered one nomination. For example, someone nominating Gardens of the Moon nominated every book in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series.
3. You did not provide a Goodreads book link to the specific book that you nominated. All books nominated without a Goodreads book link was discarded. Please see this thread for the nomination rules: An Aficionado’s Guide to the top 100 Fantasy Books of All Time: Nominations
I’d like to thank Laurel and Soan for helping me collect and sort the nominations!! Thank you both so much!
*Please note: I will verify each person’s vote to ensure that there is no cheating or vote stacking.
