I'm Yarey from Bilbao (Spain). I started reading comics when I was 20 and I'm glad I found this group; I hope to discover new ones and discuss them here.

I' got into graphic novels about a year ago and I absolutely love them. I'm hoping to get some really good recommendations

Hello My name is Anthony
Started reading graphic novels/manga when I began working at the library. I'm looking forward to all resources the group has to share and offer.

I'm Ninka from Ontario, Canada. I've been reading comics for longer than I want to say. I went away from comics in the 1990s because Marvel was just being dumb with their titles but I got back into things and now have a preference for graphic novels (of a variety of themes), mostly because I'm not patient enough to wait for the next chapter of the story. :) I also read manga. Thank you for adding me to the group and I look forward to the discussions.
Hey there, I'm Eileen from Connecticut. I'm a grad student and a wannabe writer (published my first novel earlier this month!) and, of course, a comic book lover. Mostly I prefer DC and Marvel's older stuff--early and mid 80s in particular--though I'll occasionally read older stuff, or even more rarely, newer stuff. Sadly, my taste for modern comics has been soured for a number of reasons that I'll probably end up posting about sooner or later.
Looking forward to discussing comics with you all!

My name's Drew, I've been reading comics since I can remember. I'm looking forward to talking comics with everyone and hopefully discovering something new!

I'm Philip and I've been working at a comic shop since about '96. Living the dream. ;) I also like novels, but comics are my go-to and also my field.
Favorites include: JSA by Geoff Johns, Identity Crisis by Brad Meltzer, Uncle Scrooge/ Donald Duck by Don Rosa, Batman: Noel by Lee Bermejo, The Life Story of the Flash by Mark Waid, Fables by Bill Willingham, the Flight anthologies by Kazu Kibuishi, and absolutely anything by Dan Jurgens.
Thanks for having this comic guy around. :)

Thanks to Kenny for the invite. I'm sure I'll enjoy discussing comics with you guys.
I'm still fairly new to the comics world, I got introduce to it about five years ago almost by accident. I had always thought comics were childish (oh boy, was I wrong!). I first read the Luna Brothers' work which I immediately fell in love with. Then an Argentinian friend recommended me Preacher, Volume 1: Gone to Texas and Y: The Last Man, Vol. 1: Unmanned and that’s when it became clear that comics were a “fix” I would needed from then on.
Hope to discover new awesome reads and discussed them with you all!

Yeah, vol 2 came out November 26th. But it only covers through issue 81. Hopefully they'll crank out a 3rd volume collecting Justice Society 1-26. Dale Eaglesham's art alone makes it worthwhile and Thy Kingdom Come was fantastic.
But yes, I never cared about Hawkman until Johns wrote him. JSA is the best team book I've ever read, bar none. And when he teamed up with Rags Morales? Well, that became a Hawkman series I had to own. (Issue #18 is one of my favorite done-in-ones. Guest art by the legendary Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez? Sold! I quote that issue often.)
I've read pretty much every DC comic since '94 and most Marvel since '99, but my indy cred is still a bit lacking. So there's always more to learn and love!

My names Sharon, I'm in Melbourne Australia. I've been collecting comics for 25 years and have recently opened a bookshop, with a devoted Graphic Novel section of course.
Thanks Ken for inviting me, and I'll put all the shameless self promoting stuff on that other link. :-)
Look forward to discussions, as I don't know many people who love graphic novels as much as me.

I am Brendan from Canada. I have been reading comics for most of my life and am willing to try out anything when it comes to comics. A few of my current favorites are Saga, Nail Biter, Southern Bastards, Skull-Kickers and Chew.

I have not read a lot of comics I mostly read manga which is cool especially if there is an anime to come with it.

Rachel Rising and Revival are brilliant, aren't they? In fact, I got on to Rachel Rising after reading Echo. And quite possibly more Terry Moore will be in the offing this year.
Hello, everyone. I'm Matthew and I've been reading comics for about 20 years, off and on. After several years of ignoring comics entirely, a copy of Persepolis in college awakened my interest. For the past 5 years, comics have made up a significant portion of my reading.
I read widely within the medium, though I have the biggest soft spot for slice-of-life stuff. I'm also a big fan of memoir and history. My favorite recent reads include Shigeru Mizuki's Showa, Brennan Lee Mulligan and Molly Ostertag's Strong Female Protagonist, and Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky's Sex Criminals.

Trying to find time to get up to speed on here, very busy after opening and Christmas rush.
Looking forward to graphic Novel overload. :-)

Thanks for the welcome! I remember seeing that DVD at Best Buy a few years ago. Should have picked it up! Looking forward to browsing through the topics and joining the discussions.

Thank you both Kenny and Steve for the warm welcome. Kenny that sounds really interesting, Dr Strange was Amazing in the 70's (they were really pushing the boundaries with this comic like back then)

My name is Danielle, and I'm a librarian working in a public library. I didn't become interested in graphic novels or comics until I took over the graphic novel and comic collection at my library, and now I have fallen in love with them. The last graphic novel I read was Alex + Ada Volume 1.

As a Preacher fan what did you make of Garth Enniss''chronicles of Wormwood-The Last Battle.Having loved Preacher, hating the boys, loveing his criminally overlooked 'DICKSvol'(if u haven"t read it u need to,its the funniest comic in a twisted imature and Ennis type of way that I've ever read, but I picked Wormwood vol2 up yesterday & so far its the most entertaining Ennis book I've read since Dicks eventhough it deals with alot of the same stuff as Preacher did but it might even be a better series if the standard doesnae drop.Hopefully it wont, wait & see.

I look forward to discussing comics and graphic novels with you all :)
