Welcome to all the new members. This will be an active group again. Hope you join us, along with the veteran members as well. Thanks.

I was a huge fan of comics when I was a kid (starting out with British kids classics the Beano and Dandy, which used to arrive with my parents' newspapers every weekend for years), and the love never went away! Nowadays, I read Love and Rockets, Grant Morrison, Alison Bechdel, Saga (who doesn't love a good epic space opera?), Bitch Planet, Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore (obviously), The Wicked and The Divine... and anything else. But I'm keen to branch out a bit, and hopefully this group will keep me going with suggestion and recommendations!

It looks like we share similar tastes and background. As for recomendations, I've been enjoying the English language reprints of Hugo Pratt's Corto Maltese - wonderful storytelling.

I'm Nicole from Florida. Looking forward to finding new graphic novels to read through this group. I just finished the Locke & Key Series and now I'm on to Saga, Vol. 6.
I spend most my time in the Stephen King group, but I thought I'd wander around here and see what people recommend :)

I want to meet others with the same love for well-written graphic novels as well as other graphic novel indie authors. As for me, JH Williams III and Moebius got me into illustration while Moore got me into writing my own series of graphic novels.
Hoping to know more about you guys.
Thanks, D.

I started with a love for manga and moved my way into a broader range of non-superhero oriented graphic novels a handful of years back. I appreciate a good story as much as i love great illustration.
I hope to be able to participate in conversation around some of my favorite series and new finds while i'm around!

Thanks and kisses
Hey guys! I'm Charlie. I've been reading and collecting graphic novels for about a decade now. I just joined GoodReads earlier this week to catalog my graphic novel collection, and find opinions on things I want to try out. I've been out of the loop for a few years, so I'm trying to catch up! Hope to see you guys around!

Favorite ones are anything Moore related, Black Order Brigade by Bilal and Christin, Diosamante by Gal, Obscure Cities by Peeters/Schuten, The Complete Works of Crepax, and above all, Moebius.

Currently I'm reading Saga book 2, and I have to be honest, I don't love it as much as most people seem to do. It might be because of the insane hype that's been building around the series. Though I obviously liked it enough to pick up book 2.
Looking forward to having good and rewarding conversation with all of you :)

I'm a creator (writer/artist/designer) as well as a reader. I was never a collector of 'back issues' and have zero interest in Marvel/DC but I do appreciate anything that's off-beat, indie, underground, subversive, or just plain different.
I appreciate old-school British comics - anything by Bryan Talbot, John Ridgway, Pat Mills, Fabrey, etc etc (basically 2000 AD) and latterly, a lot of Avatar titles: Uber, Ferals, and Garth Ennis' Crossed series. I also appreciate great manga - specifically Goijma and Koike's amazing 'Lone Wolf & Cub', 'Cryng Freeman' and You Higuri's work on the Crown series, which directly inspired a character of mine.
Anyway that's the 'Hi I'm the new guy' bit done. I'll post something that's actually interesting soon. :)

I'm a big fan of Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Jeph Loeb, and Scott Snyder and artists such as Alex Ross and Greg Capullo and Tim Sale. Glad to join a group to talk about comics

and March. I am glad to get to know more books that you guys recommend.

Overall, you guys should definitely let me know what your favorite books are so that I could look into reading more.

I've recently enjoyed Complete Peanuts (up to 1973), Saga and Fables, so my interests are very diverse.

GN ? OK Graphic Novel
Well SONORA PASS is a different kind of GN ..no superhero ..
It was originally intended to be a Film ..I still harbor hopes that this will happen ...
Kevin Nichols is quite an Illustrator ! The plot is an intricate murder mystery story ...

Thanks - I'll look out for it. I'm also keen to pick up Wendy Project which just came out.

My name's Dave Bell of the Rhino's Den (a fledgling comics content and artwork banner I'm working on). I'm a second-generation comic book nerd (my Dad's the one who got me into the hobby) with aspirations of joining the industry as a creator.
I started my page to post reviews of all of the Graphic Novels and Collected Editions I currently own (all 420 of them and counting) as part of the content I want to put together.
I'm looking forward to getting recommendations and great discussions from this group!

Looking forward to future discussions and titles!
Welcome to the group Blanka, Bookhunter, Neide, Tucky, Brandy, Jaime, L, Bernard, Rhino, and Marc.

Hi Kate! I loved Ex Machina volume 1 and have been meaning to read the rest of the series!

I can't view your page. You seen or read The Maxx?

My name's Magsi and I love reading graphic novels as much as I love to read books. Pleased to meet all of you. I hope we can be good friends. :)

Hi,

Hi, I'm a new member here, and I couldn't help but feeling excited by telling you that I've spent two years writing a graphic novel exploring the situation of two unlikely friends trying to save the environment when global warming reaches its catastrophic stage. The story involves a dynamic political conspiracy and through DNA transformation, a super villein is born.
My book "Mother Earth" is accepted by the Vancouver Public Library and many libraries in Canada, and is available in Ingram. Please check it out and let me know what do you think.

Did you really need to just randomily quote other posts to tell us this though? You could have just posted your comment from there.
