message 520: by Lady Allison (new)

Lady Allison | 118 comments Hey Sue! I hope you find something here, if not, let me know & I'll do my best to pick again. :D

Friends : The Help by Kathryn Stockett - I can't tell you how many people recommended this book to me at my library! I finally read it to see what all the fuss was about & while the beginning was a bit difficult to get into, it was an incredibly well written book & a great portrait of life during that time. The movie is coming out this year, so read the book first! ;)

Romance : Vision in White by Nora Roberts - one of my favorite romance series of all time! It's happy, made me smile the whole way through & I absolutely adored the characters & relationships in the books. NR made me want to be a part of their world, businesses, & life.

Intense : The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - one of the most intense series I've ever read! A total page turner, I gift/recommend this series to everyone & anyone who will listen.

Emotions : Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie - it looks like we both enjoy Jennifer Crusie quite a bit, but I didn't see her latest on your shelves so I thought I'd recommend this one :) It's a good blend of mystery, romance, & comedy that we've come to expect from the fabulous Ms. Crusie!

New : It looks like you enjoy mysteries - have you read Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series? The first one is One for the Money & they are all hilarious!!! This is another one where the movie comes out this year, but you should definitely read the book first! :)

Don’t Forget : Don't forget to read The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter especially because The Darkest Secret just came out! Fantastic paranormal series.

Support : Pack Challenge by Shelley Laurenston - I've had my eye on this one for a while, everyone who has read it, loved it. So, I'd be more than happy to read this one with you!

Bonus : The Four Ms. Bradwells: A Novel by Meg Waite Clayton - I saw this online somewhere today & thought it would be interesting. It's about 4 women & how their friendships last through just about anything life throws at them. Seeing as I adore my girlfriends, I thought it might be a good heartwarming read.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett Vision in White (Bride Quartet, #1) by Nora Roberts The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie One for the Money (Stephanie Plum, #1) by Janet Evanovich The Darkest Lie (Lords of the Underworld, #6) by Gena Showalter Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston The Four Ms. Bradwells A Novel by Meg Waite Clayton

Isabella Queirouz | 201 comments Hello Rachel (Boise)

I found it too hard choosing for you, not a single writer or a single book in common (except now 5 new books I added yesterday on my TBR :) ).
I spent all yesterday checking your Tbrs and came with this recommendation also based on books and authors you rated 5 stars. Hope you like it.

1-FRIENDS: I have 2 options one recommended by a friend that I read, The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet, or another from a book series recommended to me that I didn't read yet Awakened House of Night 8 by Cast P.C

2-ROMANCE: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
or Twilight by Stephenie Meyer ( my favorite, I saw you like to read series and a lot of books in series got 5 stars,)
or The Mammoth Book Of Paranormal Romance from your TbR.

3-Intense: New Moon by Stephenie Meyer (if you chose Twilight on 2) or
Succubus Shadows Georgina Kincaid 5 by Mead Richelle (from your TBR).

5-Emotions: I don't want you to cry so I chose The Client by John Grisham or if you insist try The Dark Journey by Julien Green

6-New: The broken wings by Gibran Khalil Gibran
or Human Bondage by W.Somerset Maugham.

7-Don't forget: I can breath now that's easy,
Living with the Dead Women of Other world 9 by a 5 stars author rated Armstrong Kelley.

8-Support: Play of Passion by Nalini Singh I have the book downloaded we can read it together.

9-Bonus: The Boy In The Striped Pajamas(I read it and also watched the film. Do you believe the author wrote it in 2 days?)
or Over Manifestby Clare Wanderpool
or The Lightning Thief(Percy Jackson and the Olympian.

Again I hope you enjoy it.

message 529: by Amethystprincess (new)

Amethystprincess | 8 comments Heather, Here you go I hope you enjoy this.

Friends: The Hunger Games
This book has been told to me many of times that I need to read it. I keep moving it from my bookshelf to my bedside table then I get distracted by another book.

Romance: Truth Or Dare
The First Romance book I ever read and what got me hooked on Romance from the start.

Intense: PS, I Love You
I read this book when I borrowed it from a friend and I have always said I was going to reread it I loved it that much.

Emotions: The Time Traveler's Wife
Loved the movie and it made me cry alot, which makes me scared to read the book and just cry all that much more.

New: Wither
Brand new just recently published and I see it on your TBR pile. (I am on the waiting list for this book at our local library)

Don't Forget: Outlander
I am currently reading this per one of my cousin's wife and I have to hand it to her it is great.

Support: Eclipse/Breaking Dawn
These books are actually to be read with my niece this month on the nights that I watch her so it will take us most of the month to finish them.

Bonus: The Vampire Diaries, any portion of the series. I love the TV Show and am now getting into where I need to read them to figure out how close theya are keeping to the books.

Laura Williams | 144 comments Hey Freya!!!

Here are my recommendations for you. I really hope that you are able to find something to read that intrests you, if not I can try again. :)

Friends : The Passage This one was recommended by Melissa**. It is probably the longest book that I have read since being a member of GR. The Passage is really different from books that I pick on my own.

Romance : (we are the Romance Readers Reading Challenge group)A Bend in the RoadI love a good Nicholas Sparks book.

Intense : Desire Untamed I bet you can tell by the name of the book why I picked this one for this catagory. I read this book in one sitting which is impressive because I'm not the fastest reader. :)

Emotions : The Host I don't usually cry while reading books but this one did it for me....a couple times. I loved this one and if you read it I bet you will too.

New : The Hunger Games I saw that you read the Percy Jackson books as well as Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter. I thought since you read those, you might enjoy this book/series.

Don’t forget : Crooked House I found this on your to be read list...I think I might read it too. :)

Support : Buddy read - The Book Thief I have had this on my TBR list for a while. I would like to read this one with you if you want to. I am only doing one challenge this month so I can make time to read it. Let me know...

Bonus : Bet Me This is "friendship fiction" for sure. Bet Me is a VERY cute and funny book. It's one of my favs.
The Passage (The Passage, #1) by Justin Cronin A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks Desire Untamed (Feral Warriors, #1) by Pamela Palmer The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins Crooked House by Agatha Christie The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie

Oh, and I'm seriously considering adding the book you had down for emotions. Just not up for a heart wrenching read this month. Still getting over Lover Unleashed.

message 538: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Hi Chloe

Since you only have 1 book on your shelf, I tried to go with a variety of book genres and series...hopefully there is something in this list that will work for you

Friends
The Help - I just did this as a buddy read with some friends and really loved the book
In Cold Pursuit: A Mystery From The Last Continent - this author was recommended to me from a friend on Amazon and I really enjoyed the book
Slave to Sensation - the first book in the psy-changling series - don't let the funky cover scare you, its a great beginning to a unique series

Romance
Secrets of a Summer Night - nobody does romance like Lisa Klepyas - this is the first book in her wallflowers series
Simply Irresistible - the first book in rachel gibson's ice hockey series - cute and lite hearted

Intense
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - I just finished this series up...wow
Outlander - Jamie and Claire...one of the best couples of all time

Emotions
Firefly Lane - I was completely bawling by the end of this book - so make sure you have a box of tissues available
Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings - LOL funny

New
Oh. My. Gods. - a YA featuring the greek gods/goddesses
Goddess of the Rose - a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast
Faith & Fidelity - this is M/M, but just to push the boundaries a bit as an option

Don't Forget
The Girl Who Chased the Moon - a cute, light hearted read
Marked - I just finished this one up the other day, but enjoyed the unique spin on a paranormal

Support
i'm planning on reading both of these books in the upcoming month, so let me know if you want to as well
The Iron Duke
The Second Duchess

Bonus
The House on Olive Street - about a group of friends dealing with the death of a fellow friend and writer
Vision in White - no one does friendship like Nora Roberts - this is the first in her Wedding Quartet

I hope something here works, if not let me know and I'll see what else I can come up with.

message 539: by Alara (new)

Alara (gaelen) For Michelle M;

Friendship: Dead Until Dark bu Charlaine Harris. Many people recommended it to me but I've never got the chance to read it.

Romance: Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Best. Young-Adult. Vampire. Book. Ever.

Intense: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It's an exciting book (and great series) that you don't want the book/series to end.

Emotions: Lavinia by Ursula K. Le Guin. I see you like historical fiction, you might enjoy while reading this book. Made me cry and feel happy in the same time.

New: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. Wow, you've never read Christie yet. You gotta read this book, then. (also named "Ten Little Niggers")

Don't Forget: Love Me to Death by Allison Brennan. Random pick from your TBR.

Support: Maybe...

Bonus: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

message 544: by Stormy (new)

Stormy | 144 comments Diane~Firefly~

Thank you for your patience, hope you find something good to read in here:

Friends : Born of Night, I see that you enjoyed Born of Fire. Born of Night is the first book in the series and was recommended to me in a past PIFM challenge. Despite being a huge SK fan, I most likely wouldn’t have tried this series without the PIFM nudge, but this book (after a slow start) was a 5 star, can’t put it down read for me.

Romance : Born in Sin is by far my very favorite romance novel. Historical romance, SK writing under a pen name. If Sin was real, my hubby would be in trouble. Love him and the heroine is pretty terrific, too.

Intense : Acheron – okay so this is three times in a row I’ve recommended basically the same author (but three different series). I can see that you are working your way through the DH series and you will get to Acheron’s story, but it is INTENSE. I could barely put it down, despite its high page count, but I don’t think I could ever read it again. It is just TOOOO MUCH.

Emotions : Alright for a good, quick laugh: Sh*t My Dad Says or for heart stopping/tear jerking experience: The Pact or Mercy

New : Nightwalker– this is a GREAT urban fantasy series. I ate the existing books up last summer and the story remains with me.

Don’t forget : Witch Heart – you’ve read the first two books and liked them. I started with the third book in the series and enjoyed it. Might be worth giving it a try.

Support : Okay, so it’s not romantic, but: The 9 Steps to Financial Freedom: Practical and Spiritual Steps So You Can Stop Worrying sounds interesting and it’s been on your TBR for a long time or I’d also be willing to buddy read: The Missing Ink, since I’ve got a lotta tattoos, always an interesting subject to me.

Bonus : Okay, three recommendations for you for this category: Vampire Academy if you want to savor some YA – great series that centers around the friendship between Rose and her best friend. Or if you want to try something a bit racy: Sweet Surrender, this series centers around a large group of friends and their adventures…of course, you could also try Six, which also centers around a large group of friends and their very intertwined adventures as well.

Enjoy.

Hello Kami!

I'm afraid you don't read much romance and I don't read much paranormal, but hopefully this won't be a problem. =)

Friends: Catching The Fire by Suzanne Collins, I really enjoyed Hunger Games!

Romance: Goddess of The Hunt by Tessa Dare, hopefully we share the same humour, because I was laughing so much in this book

Intense: The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons, my favourite, favourite, favourite book. I have never really described a book as “intense” but this is certainly one that just hit me on the head and it's like a drug, just had to read it till I finished it

Emotions: Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James, young adult fiction, I found myself being dragged along this girl's ups and downs! Well written

New: Undead and Unwed by MaryJanice Davidson, I noticed you're into paranormal, (I'm not), but I like this author's other writings

Don’t forget: Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey, you've been planning to read this for a number of years, and a lot of people have given it a high rating

Support: Crazy Hot by Tara Janzen, I found her Crazy Cool (#2) pretty good

Bonus: The Bodyfinder by Kimberly Derting, this is a great book, so great, that I kind of crossed my ABSOLUTELY NO PARANORMAL boundaries and read it! =P

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins Goddess of the Hunt (Goddess Trilogy, #1) by Tessa Dare The Bronze Horseman (Tatiana and Alexander, #1) by Paullina Simons Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James Undead and Unwed (Undead, #1) by MaryJanice Davidson Kushiel's Dart (Kushiel's Legacy, #1) by Jacqueline Carey Crazy Hot (Steele Street, #1) by Tara Janzen The Body Finder (The Body Finder, #1) by Kimberly Derting
