i had that one in an anthology so i was reluctant to purchase the other two and boy am i glad i didnt. the first story was great i loved asias backstory and the misunderstanding caused great friction that turned into a lovely relationship. the second story is where it starts to lose me. i think the bet was a neat idea for a story and cameron overhearing it was an ok start but for the girls to handpick beckys man makes the story be a little awkward and becky while sweet is not a female lead i can really get into shes too shy and timid for my taste and george wasnt that appealing of a character so that story kinda fell flat for me. ericas character was so obnoxious i almost hesitated to read her story i like strong women but not so much obnoxiously ball busting ones. again there was an intervention to get ian with her which is really sketchy to me. i loooooved ians character and frankly didnt understand his attraction to erica. overall the stories were kinda creepy with all the interventions and the men loving the women before they even really met them. also they were too short to build a real relationship so they ended up coming off as unrealistic and frankly unappealing. worth reading for asias story buy dont waste your money *edit* while i liked the story of the first novella on a reread the second one was rather appalling. The hero proceeds with sexual contact "despite her struggles." Um gross. There is just no story or development in this one. This woman has no clue how to write a sex scene and has repetitive odd phrases such as "pleasure probe" and a stomach cramping with lust...neither of which sounds very realistic or appealing
Truth or Dare was a fun set of connected novellas that feature a trio of girlfriends who decided to pick up their next hunk...at the porn shop. Um. lol
Ha! So, yes, this was a fun little set of stories. A silly concept as the heroines dare each other to share a fantasy and then find a man at the new porn shop who's browsing that particular fetish. It's a little outdated and the editing could use another go round but overall it was light, sweet, funny and had a good helping of steam.
Couple ONE: Asia/Cameron --Oh dear. When you overhear a chick saying she's got a spanking fantasy and you're like okay? I can do this. And it turns out she was just teasing with her friends and you're both painfully vanilla and trying not to be. lol --I liked Asia and Cameron. Fun people. Great chemistry. A little overreaction with the spanking thing but okay
Couple TWO: Becky/George --Oh she's so innocent. Becky has always shied away from male attention and because of it has absolutely no experience in any way. She's also hiding something and guards her secret fiercely. --I liked both Becky and George. There's a couple funny moments as they both think the other is willing to get tied down with a little bondage play. --he does push her a bit and it hurt to watch but I think the only way her secret was going to be uncovered and he handled the fall out well.
Couple THREE: Erica/Ian --Lordy this heroine was a handful. Bless that hero for loving her anyway. lol --Erica has a HUGE chip on her shoulder. She's bold and brassy but she's all bark and really needs an attitude adjustment where men are concerned. She really could be rude and mean with no excuse. --I really liked Ian. He's a good guy and trying so hard to get a chance with the woman he's into. He had a lot of patience and was just a big yummy beast of a man.
Hmmmm,I enjoyed this book, however I can’t imagine falling that quickly for anyone & proposing so suddenly. I feel like that took away from the storyline.
Just a side note: How is that so many guys in this town are just sitting around waiting months for the opportunity to approach the women they're in love with?
Satisfy Me - 3 /5 - Asia and her friends are all atwitter about the porn shop opening across the street from where they work. They’re all interested in maybe finding a guy over there who can satisfy their fantasies, so they agree to search. Asia, a divorced woman whose ex-husband ruined her for sexual adventure, claims she wants someone to spank her, when all she really wants is some loving vanilla sex. But Cameron, her co-worker who has been lusting after her for months, overhears this and decides to take advantage. So when Asia sees him buying a spanking video, she’s obligated by her bargain to accept his come-on. She just doesn’t expect their chemistry and truly awesome connection. Nor does she expect him to spank her. Oops. Wading past all those stereotypes about porn shops and the people who frequent them (a surprising number of women embrace their sexualities and freely and openly patronize such places - I would), as well as a strange comment from a character who got all bent out of shape because her boyfriend masturbated later in the day when they’d already had sex that morning (why is that so offensive?), this was an okay story. I liked Cameron, and although Asia has certain sexual insecurities, she wasn’t annoying about them or anything. And she was absolutely justified in getting all pissed off with Cameron...one should probably not go spanking a woman if she hasn’t cleared it with you already. Although I think the fact that Asia liked that initial swat was an overlooked opportunity to open up to her own adventures just a bit.
Indulge Me - 2 /5 - Becky Harte is an innocent, naive virgin who knows next to nothing about sex...and it’s her turn to go into the porn shop and find a man who shares her particular fantasy. She runs into George Westin, a supervisor at work and the guy she’s been crushing on. Turns out the both fantasize about bondage. George thinks Becky has just been playing innocent all this time, and can’t wait to finally get her tied to his bed. Becky likewise wants to tie George up to her bed so she can be in control and keep him from seeing her. This miscommunication causes some issues of course, and as George helps Becky through her issues, he realizes he loves her. This was just okay. I didn’t care for either of the characters very much...George just felt a bit on the sleazy/smarmy side, even if he was charming. I DID NOT care for the fact that he tied her up against her will and didn’t release her even when it was clear she was afraid and panicking - damn woman is sobbing and he’s all “it’s okay, I won’t hurt you, you’ll like it.” Creeptastic that one. You don’t keep her tied up and try to calm her down so you get your way - that’s not sensitive at all. Then he turns on the lights when she clearly begs him not to. For me, this makes him untrustworthy all around. And it would have been so much better and more romantic if he’d earned her trust and gotten her to show him, rather than taking that choice away from her. But length restraints being what they are, I guess we have no choice but to make him a bit of an ass. Also, the jump to marriage happened WAY too fast.
Drive Me Wild - 2/5 - Erica Lee, who has basically been a prickly, man-hating woman throughout this series is approached by Ian, her co-worker who she lusts for. He insists that everyone knows about the whole porn shop game and that they should just skip the whole thing and go to bed together. Erica doesn’t like how he takes control and how submissive she feels around him, but she’s willing to give it a go. Ian has a hidden agenda. He set the whole thing up so that he could finally get Erica where he wanted her - in his bed and in his life. He just needs to show her that he can please her and she can trust him. It’s funny because I went into this fully prepared to dislike Erica, since she’s been so cynical and disagreeable. But to my surprise, it was Ian that I disliked. He was so smug and overly arrogant about being able to make Erica submit to him...to be the one she softens for. And for some reason, I wanted him to fail. I feel like Ian’s entire focus was on getting what HE wanted. As the big strong man who can clearly see that Erica has trust issues, he wants to fix her. Even after Erica admits that all she wants is a guy who won’t want to change her, he tells himself that changing her so she’s less prickly doesn’t count. And for some reason I found myself disappointed that Erica did in fact have to change for him, but he didn't’ have to change for her (which incidentally the characters do discuss and I did not care for Ian’s viewpoint on that either). So, I’m pretty sure the point of this story is not supposed to be me yelling at my kindle to tell Erica that she needs to take back control and show Ian who is boss. Maybe I felt this way because there wasn’t enough time in the story for Ian to do anything but bulldoze over Erica’s trust issues and I resented that. A woman with Erica’s depth of mistrust for guys totally needs more than a weekend of hot sex to overcome this. But Ian seems to think that the hot sex and the love he feels (but she doesn’t seem to) is more than enough and then they can have their HEA. About the time the story started wrapping up and I could see that her issues were going to miraculously disappear (healed by the wang) I had ceased to care about their HEA.

Satisfy Me – I had previously read one novella and one full-length novel by Lori Foster and can't say that I was overly impressed with either. Since Ms. Foster seems to be well-loved among most romance readers, this had been quite disappointing to me. I decided to give her one more try and picked up her Truth or Dare anthology. The first story in it, Satisfy Me, turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed this steamy little novella, and am happy to say that it has put Lori Foster back on my watch list.
Asia was a nice mix of shy uncertainty coupled with just a little bit of daring. I liked that in spite of her ex-husband having done a number on her confidence with his selfishness in the bedroom, she had managed to mostly rebuild her self-esteem and was ready to take the bull by the horns so to speak. It took some adventurousness on her part to live up to her friend's dare and go to the adult shop, then ask Cameron out when he purchased the agreed upon item. I also really appreciated that she gave Cameron a chance to explain himself when there was a miscommunication about her preferences in the bedroom, and more importantly, that she believed him rather than jumping to conclusions.
I thought that having Cameron lusting after Asia for the entire two months since he had come to work at the same company made their quick hook-up and falling for one another more believable. I just couldn't help adoring Cameron. He was just so loving, giving and focused on Asia's pleasure which of course, is exactly the kind of man she needed in her life. I liked that he was willing to do anything to get her and keep her, including something slightly kinky, even though he ended up being mistaken about that. It just showed that he was completely committed to fulfilling her needs even if it was by doing something that wasn't entirely his cup of tea.
Overall, Satisfy Me was a quick, sexy and satisfying read that is the first story in Lori Foster's Brava Girlfriends series. It introduced Asia's two best friends, Becky and Erica who become the heroines of the next two novellas, Indulge Me and Drive Me Wild respectively. I'm really looking forward to continuing the series and finding out what Becky's fantasy is. Hopefully, her story will be equally as delightful as this novella was. Satisfy Me was first published in the anthology All Through the Night. It was later reprinted in the anthology Kiss Me Again, and a third time in the single-author anthology Truth or Dare along with its two companion novellas. Star Rating: *****
Indulge Me - Indulge Me was another winning novella from Lori Foster, which has finally proven to me that she can write the kind of stories I enjoy. It was very hot and steamy, definitely bordering on the erotic with the inclusion of some light bondage. I liked that George and Becky had both had the hots for one another for two years. Much like with the first novella in the Brava Girlfriends series, this prior connection made their quick hook-up and falling in love more believable, because they were already halfway there when the story opens.
Becky was the second of the three friends to take the dare of going to the adult store across the street from where they work and setting a date with the first guy who showed an interest in her fantasy. Becky reminds me a lot of myself because she is sweet and shy, with a private wild side. I thought Ms. Foster did a great job of treading the line between her being an innocent virgin, but not being completely clueless about sex. She had obviously been thinking and planning just how she wanted her first sexual experience to be for a long time, and the star of her fantasies was her hunky co-worker, George. The reason Becky had put so much effort into making sure she's in control and trying to make it perfect is that she has a surprising hang-up about her body. The moment when it was finally revealed was very sweet and poignant and definitely proved what a wonderful guy George was.
George was a very lovable hero with a great sense of humor. He's certainly confident and has no qualms whatsoever about frank talk regarding sex, but he doesn't cross the line into being annoyingly cocky like some self-assured heroes. I thought it was actually kind of cute how he downplayed the fact that he's well-endowed and even said that half the rumors about his sexual prowess were untrue, when most guys would probably be all too happy to claim both. He's very intuitive of Becky's needs and recognizes her innocence right away, but isn't the least bit off-put by it. In fact, he finds her sweet, endearing and altogether beautiful even though she doesn't recognize that beauty in herself. I love how George willingly played along when she turned the tables on him and then patiently coaxed her when he turned the tables back. Best of all, was how he wouldn't let her hide her flaws from him and tenderly reassured her of how lovely she truly was to him.
Asia and Cameron from Satisfy Me put in another appearance as they plan their wedding. Becky and Asia's third friend, Erica, who becomes the heroine of the final story Drive Me Wild also played a role. So far, Erica has been my least favorite of the three friends because of her cynicism and brusque, sometimes abrasive, manner. I have to admit that I'm not as eager to read her story because she seems like the type who could easily be a man-eater. However, since I've been surprised in the past by the redemption of secondary characters who didn't initially resonate with me, I'll keep an open mind. Overall, Indulge Me was another fun, sexy and emotionally satisfying read in the Brava Girlfriends series. It was originally published in the I Love Bad Boys anthology and was later reprinted in the single-author anthology Truth or Dare along with its two companion novellas. Star Rating: *****
*Drive Me Wild - Wow! Lori Foster just went three for three. I went into reading Drive Me Wild with a certain degree of skepticism, because of not entirely liking Erica due to her brash manner. I figured it might be a good read at best, so I couldn't have been more shocked when this novella was yet another fabulous story, making the entire Brava Girlfriends series sheer perfection for me.
As I mentioned Erica was a little too cynical and outspoken for my taste. In fact, it was almost inconceivable to me that Erica was friends with Asia and Becky, because they seemed so much different than her. In the first two novellas of the series she comes off as something of an ice queen who more or less tolerates men but doesn't really like them that much. I think Erica had a tendency to intimidate almost everyone around her and as a result, most men steered clear of her. Those she did date never earned her trust or respect and it didn't appear that she'd been in many, if any, serious relationships because of it. Why she acts the way she does finally becomes crystal clear in this story, and I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself relating to her after all. In the end, her willingness to open herself up to Ian and allow herself to be vulnerable with him really softened her hard edges.
All the heroes in this series have been awesome, and Ian was no exception. I enjoyed the fact that he isn't classically handsome. He's a blue-collar worker who's attractive in a more rugged way, but he certainly has presence and personality galore that more than makes up for it. I love how Ian goes toe-to-toe with Erica right from the start. His alpha male pheromones were practically emanating off the pages. He's been crazy about Erica for months and is a really astute guy who understands her in a way that no one else does. Ian may be an alpha, but he's still pretty laid back. Erica's ballsy nature actually amuses him. He's incredibly intelligent too. I could almost see the wheels turning in his head as he tried to outwit Erica at her own game, making her think that she was the one in charge when it was mostly him who had the upper hand. Best of all, I just love how he pampered Erica with great food, a bubble bath, plenty of TLC and lots of mind-blowing sex. In my opinion, his every action showed just how much he really cared for her.
Asia and Cameron (Satisfy Me) and Becky and George (Indulge Me) all returned to round out the cast. Drive Me Wild is the third and final novella in the Brava Girlfriends series. It was first published in the I Brake for Bad Boys anthology and later reprinted in the single-author anthology Truth or Dare along with its two companion novellas. Drive Me Wild was a perfect end to a perfect trilogy of novellas. After such a satisfying reading experience, I'm now greatly looking forward to trying more of Lori Foster's works. Star Rating: *****
This book was a little too short for my tastes. Three quite rushed stories with declarations of live and marriage before you’ve even finished the first date. It was all just a little too rushed for me.
The heat level was okay but it didn’t sweep me away as anything special.
I did like the premise of the story. Three girls make a pact to find something in the new local sex shop to help fulfil their sexual fantasy, then find a guy in there whose into the same thing.
The only drawback in the end was that each guy was a setup. None of it happened naturally. The first story was good but the others felt a little lack lustre. Becky in the second story was too shy and never said very much and Erica in the third came across as being vulnerable in her need to be in control.
Overall, an ok read but it didn’t push my buttons personally.
This was a fun read. I really enjoyed it. It's written well, had great characters with varied and entertaining personalities. There's plenty of humor, emotions, steaminess and the perfect HEAs for all the couples. Something that's great for reading anytime and anywhere. Good for the relaxing just-for-fun reading. Enjoy
Love books by Lori Foster. This one is about 3 very different friends. They come up with a challenge to each other and meet 3 men. The outcome is surprising. There is humor, romance, and lots of hot sex. This is one of her older books, but just as good as the present. Highly recommend.
It's touted as 3 novellas though they are all really part of the same story, so more like parts 1-3 because in my opinion each can't stand alone.
Lori Foster really brings out the very different personality traits in the three different girls who are looking for one lustful night and get much more than they bargained for. An entertaining, steamy read.
I suppose my ratings aren't really fair because I'm not much of one for contemporary romance like this. This is three stories, about three different types of women seeking sexual satisfaction/their ideal partner. It's ok, cute, bit like wonderbread, lots of fluff but no real substance.
I read this eons ago and it was sent on to another bookcrosser as part of a bookexcerpt game.
Really liked the first two stories. I thought the last story was a bit 'bleh' - I wasn't into the characters or the sub-plot. In addition to that, the last story had a lot of typos and grammatical errors.
Lori Foster is one of my favorite romance authors, she brings interesting characters, a bit of humor, and lots of spicy romance. This is one of her earlier books, but it's still a fun read.
Nice light reading! 3 insta-love stories that make you laugh! Foster once again has created characters you fall in love with and a storyline that keeps you hooked through all 3 stories! I would definately recommend this book!
I KNOW THIS ISN'T TECHNICALLY PARANORMAL BUT WHAT ELSE CAN YOU CALL IT WHEN A PORN SHOP OPENS UP ACROSS FROM YOUR WORK AND SOMEHOW MAGICALLY BECOMES A PORTAL TO INSTALOVE AND YOUR DEEPEST FANTASIES FULFILLED
Loved all 3 novellas but my favorite would be Becky and George's story. These 3 novellas have made me laugh out loud and get teary too.
These ladies have made a pact and are doing what they need to get their fantasies met. They don't realised the men they have chosen are aware and willing.
A new shop has opened up in best friends Asia, Becky and Erica's small conservative town...Wild Honey, a sex shop, so they decide to play a game...Each one has to go into the shop and the next guy that comes in and buys a kinky item they are into they have to ask out...but it isn't all as random as it seems as someone has been listening into their scandalous game of dare...
Truth or Dare is actually an anthology of three novellas one for each of the friends, insecure Asia, shy Becky and assertive Erica, but I am going to review them as a whole rather then individually as although they have three individual women and men with different personalities as protagonists each one is essentially the same story.
However, although it does follow the same formula I didn't find myself getting bored, one because each story was fairly short and two because each character had enough of their own quirks that I found interesting enough to propel me forward. Each story was so sweet though, I loved how the men had all some how found out about the dare and engineered it so they were the "random" man they bumped into, it was just so adorable.
This anthology was good mixture of humour, romance and some sweet sweet lovin' a perfect feel good book to curl up with over the Christmas holidays.
This was a sexy three part story. The overall plot, three women all work together in a factory in a small town. They are each astonished to find that a porn store has opened up in their small conservative town. The three women, Asia, Becky and Erica end up making a bet. Each will go into the store and when a man buys something that pertains to one of their fantasies they have to ask that man out.
The first story is Asia's. She has had a rough past with regards to men, and she is tired of putting others sexual needs first. She wants a man who will put her first. Of course, the man in question overheard part of her fantasy, but only part of it, which leads to complications later.
The second story is about Becky. She is very shy and blushes when she gets in close proximity to anything sexual in nature. She also has a little secret about her body that she's hiding. She's decided that to keep it a secret she wants to indulge in a little bondage. If the man can't see her, than she won't feel so nervous. Or so she thinks.
The last story is about Erica. A very assertive woman who thinks all men are scum. Her fantasy is to have a man who will do anything she tells him. But is that really want she truly wants? Ian begs to differ.
Lori Foster came up with a series called Brava Girlfriends (Brava for the publishing company and girlfriends cuz the series is about 3 female friends) and published the first story, Satisfy Me, in this anthology, All through the Night. Basically, a new sex shop opens up in this 'very quiet' (lol) town and the 3 friends make a pact with each other to tell each other 1. what their favorite sexual fantasy is and 2. visit the sex shop and the first male that comes in while they are there who also shows interest in their fantasy (ie: bondage, spanking, etc), they have to go out on a date with them and act out their fantasy with them. ********HILARIOUS************* Satisfy Me is about Asia and it's humorous, but NOT the best story. In my opinion, the best story comes next with Becky published in the anthology I (heart) BAD BOYS, titled Indulge Me. And last but not least we have Erica's story published in I BRAKE FOR BAD BOYS, titled Drive Me Wild. I cannot give enough props for humor and ingenuity. I loved the premise of the stories and also the execution. They really are quite hilarious and very easy to read. I read all three in just a few hours!(less)
