I will buy no books. No exceptions allowed, no matter how much I whine and cry.
That's it! Good luck to me!"
One long month has gone by and I've managed to survive without breaking my NYR. Archangel's Consort almost made me cave, but I resisted temptation. *pats herself on the back*
One month down, five to go!
Thanks, UM. :) I forgot to mention: NetGalley is keeping me sane. Whenever I get a galley from them, I feel like I bought a book - with the added bonus of not having to pay a cent for it.

No book purchases until June? You are made of some strong stuff, Dina!
No way, Auntee! The last book I read earned one whooping star. One! I need a winner after that nightmare.

I've heard talks of NetGalley but didn't know what it was. I'll need to check them out!
According to my rules, I've 'earned' the right to buy 16 books. I didn't buy any in January, but made up for it the first week in February - I bought 12 books! Dina, do NOT follow my example!!

Oh BJ, I'm so jealous! But you've earned the right to buy your books, so enjoy! Out of curiosity, what did you get?
Wow, BJ you're doing so well!I confess I'm doing very poorly in my 'reducing paper TBR by 15 books.' I got so many books in the last few days (from PBS) and have been reading a lot from the library that I went from 8 down to 2 down. Sigh...
I was hoping to do it in two months but I'll have to extend it up to March.
Great selection, BJ! The only one I've read is Betrayal in Death, but most of the others are on my Wish List. I'm more jealous now. :)

I'm on book 20 of 365 . . .I've got a LONG way to go!!
And, I've only purchased THREE books so far this year, all of which were part of a series that I already own.

You have to answer some questions, and if they approve you, you'll be able to request specific books that various publishers have made available. They give you the ebooks for 60 days, and they ask that you read and review them, which you do on netgalley.
It helps if you have a blog or your Goodreads profile is set to public so they can see that you post the reviews in places other than netgalley.

I've foiun it, registered and now I have to complete my profile. I'm confused . . .do I just say that I adore reading? That I inhale stories like air? LOL!
Yes, and be sure and link to your Goodreads profile so they can see what kinds of books you like and read previous reviews. Remember, they want you to review their books, and if you consistently do not, they can stop releasing books to you.

Well, there are 17 letters in the title, and this is the 1st month of the year, so you could either add or subtract 1, making it either 16 or 18. There are 12 months in a year so if you subtract 12 from 14 or 18 you get 4 or 6. April is the 4th month, my birthday month, and I can buy 10 books. I'd be willing to give up 1 book so you can buy Archangel's Consort now, because the title starts with A, which means you can subtract another number leaving you with 3. There are 2 words in the title, so subtract another 2 and you have 1, which is the number of the month of January.
So yes, you can buy it now, Dina.
