Wow, that someone must be awesome! The whole series, not including the short stories, has more than 30 books! What a fantastic gift, Denise. :)

You're right in spacing your reading of these books. I love, love this series and I've followed it since the beginning, but I always recommend newbies to avoid reading the books back to back. You will burn out on them if you do, no matter how much you enjoy them.

message 152: by Denise (new)

Denise | 47 comments I do that with series, burn myself out that is.. I read all the Dark Hunter ones like that. Thankfully it was a great series :)
My friend that gave me the books, we swap all the time, but its great to get an entire series and you don't have to scramble for the missing ones. I have to get a few of them, I think I have up to #26. Still plenty to catch up on! lol..

Becky (beckysbusyreading) | 320 comments I plan to read a total of 200 books for the year, and follow my guidelines from my 2011 self-challenge which is to limit my book buying, use the library more often, read at least 1 Lisa Kleypas book a month, and finish some of the series I have started.
Holy CRAP, hope I can keep all my rules right:)

Denise | 47 comments Finishing the series is a tough one! I only listed a few that I have started and feel overwhelmed with them! Mostly because there are a bunch more I am dying to start, but part of my challenge is not to start new ones until I finish up the others. I am itching to read the Poison Study one you just reviewed.

I am at 14 books for the year so far. I read Married by Morning yesterday , I think so far its my favorite Hathaway. I do love Poppy's story though. I LOVE using the reading log! I give it a 5 stars. I simply adore Kane and Rose. In fact, Team 3 has become my fave GW team of all. I've become attached to the members of the team, and I can't wait for more books about each member. And even reading about K&R's child was enjoyable. Definitely RG became my fave GW book.

I did, too! I'm glad that I didn't get to read the first chapter in CF's website (though I am a member, I had forgotten my login information and I'm too lazy to get it...eventually I will, but right now it isn't such a big issue) since it made my eager to read the book.

There are some very hostile comments made to those of us who are team Marguarita! LOL

Old TBR (books I've had for more than a year)
Mid-TBR (books I've had for 6 months to a year)
New TBR (books I've had for less than 6 months)

And too many of those old books have been there for two years!

I hear you! Last year I've started working on those old books and did a decent job. I'm continuing this year too but I'm doing it a bit differently with a points system. That way I'm more encouraged to pick them up sooner!

I checked your TBR and you have a bunch of my favorites among your old books:
As You Desire
The God Delusion
Pride and Prejudice
The Name of the Wind
The Count of Monte Cristo

Jane (plainjanie) | 79 comments It looks like I'm not going to be able to meet one of my NYR Challenges. I can't read the whole LK backlist without spending more money than I'm really willing to spend on one book. I can't get Forever My Loveor Love Come to Me. Unfortunately none of the libraries in the Denver area have these books either. I know I have until the end of the year but it isn't looking promising.

Well, since it's not your fault - you're not caving or anything like that, why not adjust it so it meets your needs? Maybe commit to reading the ones you do have and then recommit to reading the ones you have to buy, once you're able to do so. Does that make sense?

The restrictions aren't many - You can list your resolution anytime you want to and make changes as often as you need to. Your resolution can be on a month by month basis, quarterly or even span the entire year. YOU decide.

message 187: by Jane (new)

Jane (plainjanie) | 79 comments That's a great idea Dhes! I'm glad to know that you won't kick me out of the group for not reaching my goal. :) I know that it is still early in the year and I still may be able to find the books, by some miracle, at a reasonable price. But as of right now I have the rest of the books, except the ones coming out this year, and so I will focus on reading those and worry about the others later.

Dhes--how are you doing on your resolution? I know you had a really tough one.

message 188: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Nawww... we never kick people out. In fact, once you sign up, we lock the doors so you can't leave! LOL

I'm doing really well, actually, thanks for asking! I haven't broken the resolution... I've bought 4 books, but all were allowable, and I've spent an hour organizing my Goodreads shelves this month.

So... so far, so good!

message 189: by D.G. (new)

D.G. I've had to modify one of my NYR. I've been reading a lot from the library and my resolution was to reduce the # of books I own.

That'll tell you that if I can't get books one way, I'll get them in another!
